whats the update

Here's the update.

-InstantSend is still disabled despite the Aug announcement of an "imminent" fix that was "already QA'd" (note use of past tense)

-Multisig was disabled long ago but that extremely pertinent fact was kept hidden, resulting in a Budget Proposal being screwed up (LMAO yet another ATM fiasco Tongue) and causing cascading failures with other Proposals

-the embarrassing fact that new Dash cannot be put into multisig makes clear the point that Dash's supposed "distributed governance by blockchain" is mere theater (kind of hard to distribute governance when you can't even put funds into multisig LMFAO)

-PrivateSend does not have a $100k bounty for being broken; all the DashHoles on here saying otherwise need to STFU & apologize  Grin

-IPv6 is still broken

-Masternodes are still not blinded and thus remain free to act in malicious collusion, thereby precluding zero confirmation tx for fear of double spends

-Evan and his Secret Sporkers  (IE wife and lawyer) are in complete control of the network thanks to their "spork" backdoor to all Masternodes

-Dash price is hitting >month lows, despite the MaxCoin and DashCon hype cycle peaking  Undecided

-still no Dash warrant canary, probably because to keep his ginger ass out of prison Evan gave the FBI and DEA 100s of instamined Masternodes

man...your awesome!  really.  we can all count on you and trollero clowns to keep us up to date.  I think you should be up for a couple of awards...the Nobel Peace price for your tireless work to try and save humanity from your perceived DASH issues as it continues to develop. And the second award for comedian of the year.  Bravo.

LOL....can't wait till 12.2 is out of test net for ya.  Wink

12.2 will at most fix InstantSend.  That's nice.

But then there's the rest of Dash's issues (Dash needs extra airplane just to carry its baggage).

12.2 will not fix Dash's broken Multisig (the basic building block of decentralized risk/trust/governance).

12.2 will not fix Dash's broken IPv6 (leaving the Dash network less diverse/diffuse/defensible/resilient)

12.2 will not blind Dash's broken Masternodes (something promised years ago and put off for the same of various vaporware)

12.2 will not fix Dash's broken 100% centralization of Evan and his Spork Spooks using their backdoor to control the Masternode network like so many overpayed herders of overpriced bots

12.2 will not fix the crashing Dash price as PIVX eats your lunch  Wink

12.2 will not fix Dash Core's mysterious (*cough* RED FLAG! *cough*) refusal to implement the industry best practice of warrant canaries

Cry Is there  a reason for the dip? Cry  Cry

Bcash's address format is broken but nobody can agree on how to fix it (Bech32 is provably ideal for UX, but it was made by Evil Blockstream Grin).

Bcash's Emergency Difficulty Adjustment has effectively become a Permanent Downward Difficulty Adjustment, allowing miners to exploit a loophole and creating a terrible UX.

Bcash's devs are bickering among themselves and becoming less effective at the exact moment they most need to work together.

I expect your motley crew of malcontents will fracture into Bcash Classic, Bcash Unlimited, Satoshi's Bcash, and Bcash2X.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

After you spend your last real Bitcoin on fake ones, will you keep posting here or will you fork off in silence to join cypherdoc and the other bitco.in failures in the extinct big blocker graveyard?

I would categorize this as dickish trolling, without question. Although Icey loves to try and appear knowledgeable and hints at serious problems inevitably when you dig further into his hints you find only FUD. I know this from the Dash thread.

This was a classic. 'OH don't you know about the Bcash address format being broken' only to find nothing is broken.

Oh look, the Dash Troll Patrol guy is here to earn his Instamined Shill Shekels.

'member when Dash Force announced that I would no longer be allowed to control the narrative w/r/t Dash's Instamine, centralization, HYIP, etc?

That was over a year ago, but I'm now more firmly in control of the narrative than ever before.  Just check /r/cryptocurrency and search for Dash... Wink

Why is afbitcoins always buzzing around shitcoins like a fly waiting for the opportunity land on a pile of poop?  Bcash and Dcash aren't even especially well executed scams.

afbitcoins' idiotic denial that there exists a problem with Bcash addresses being confused with real Bitcoin resembles his likewise idiotic refusals to admit Dash's InstandSend is broken, Dash's "Spork" master key creates centralization, and Dash's attempt to create a bounty for PrivateSend bugs failed.

In afbitcoins' make-believe world of wishful thinking and pure imagination, Bcash is the real Bitcoin and Dash isn't an instamined centralized bug-prone shitcoin scam. Cheesy

What I'm getting = Exposure to Bcash and Silbert2X

Well, iCEBREAKER, you are an inveterate dickish troll. But I also know you to be seemingly quite intelligent and knowledgable. So with that as a preface, I am going to ask...

This is the first I have heard about some flaw in Bitcoin Cash's address format. Where can I find a factual description thereof?

What a nice thing to say about me.  I'm flattered!  Embarrassed

It's astonishing and hilarious that you are burning the last of your "dry powder" on Altcoin Cash even as you lack the basic familiarity with the local terrain required to perform due diligence on such a brave investment.

Here, I'll do your homework for you.  But before the final exam you need to master the material yourself!  Wink

25 days ago:

BCH users are sending own money into BCH-SegWit addresses 😂 this is invalid and their money is mostly lost. So they will beg the Miner-Kings to return funds 😂. Also, karma is a BitCH (👩🐶) - all could be avoided if BitcoinCash would use custom address prefix instead of pretending to be the Bitcoin.
https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/6z56x3/attention_benevolent_bch_miners_a_bch/?sort=controversial

Background

In the short while since segwit activated on the BTC network and segwit addresses even-more-recently became the default for receiving BTC in the Trezor wallet - and perhaps other wallets too (soon?) - people have started accidentally sending their BCH to BTC-segwit addresses.

Due to the fact(s) that...

a) the BCH network supports P2SH (i.e. addresses starting with 3), but not segwit

... and ...

b) the sending wallets thus have no way of knowing that P2SH-wrapped segwit addresses really are "hiding" a segwit redeemscript

... there's currently no way to prevent this, and it will continue happening.

Examples

(These are just the ones that I've noticed, but I'm sure there are many more that go straight to the various wallet service providers' support teams instead of via Reddit.)

    https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6sfnl2/segwit_has_been_locked_in_congratulations_everyone/dlvkhsi/

To add insult to injury, the unlucky BCH owners are routinely told that there's no way to recover the coins (including by myself at the start) due to BCH not supporting segwit. And while that's currently true, it is ultimately only a half-truth.

After all, segwit opponents have often said that the satoshis in segwit addresses would be "anyone-can-spend" if the miners didn't enforce the segwit rules (i.e. ensuring that there's a proper witness/signature in the "segregated" part of the txs).

And on the BCH network the segwit rules aren't being enforced!

Incidentally, I have kept dry powder that I am now using to BTF'nD. Fundamentals are still aligned. BCH is the rightful ultimate heir. This will become even more clear after the S1X vs S2X circular firing squad.

This thread is for discussions related to the Dash protocol, network, community, Instamine, ATM/debit card fiascos, Howey-test triggering centralization, Evan's secret transaction-reversing "spork" backdoor, InstandSend failure/coverup, etc. but it is explicitly *not* for worthless, generic Price Update and Moon/Doom posts that would get you Banhammered from the Polo trollbox.

Per the mods,

Altcoin Discussion - "Discussion of cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. Note that discussion of how these currencies *relate to* Bitcoin may fit in other categories. ". Generic coin discussion threads or discussion about altcoin prices do not belong here.

Speculation (Altcoins) - Discussion about altcoin prices. This includes discussion about portfolios ("what altcoins are you holding?"), price predictions ("is coin X going to reach 10$ next week?" or "why is this coin's price so low?") and general speculation ("are the altcoin markets crashing?").

Please post about price speculation in an appropriate Speculation (Altcoins) sub-forum.

There are already at least two threads about Dash there, and you may make another if neither of these is to your liking.

Is there any updates about Evolution? When should it hit mainnet?

https://github.com/dashpay/dash-roadmap

That is not a responsive answer to Dcrstats' questions.

The >1 month old roadmap/announcement of Evolution is not an "update" nor a concrete commitment to launch on a specific date.

Anyone paying attention has noticed Evan edits the roadmap to remove embarrassing failures to meet previously announced goals.  He's as bad as jl777. Grin

Legit projects like Decred and ETC have roadmaps showing past goals being met and checked off.  Dash hides the fact it accomplishes very few of the things it plans.

Compare Dash's sloppy utter lack of accountability for and covering up of missed goals with https://www.decredible.com/news/roadmap/.  Notice how DCR actually keeps around past milestones and marks them as "done."

Now compare Dash's misleading, selectively edited cult propaganda with http://www.etcdevteam.com/roadmap.html.

This isn't even a fair comparison because ETC's entire presentation is so much more slick and modern.  The fact they complete every item on the agenda on time and under budget is just gravy on top.

If Dash possessed a modicum of integrity and honesty its roadmap would include past goals which have been abandoned, failed, or are running late and over budget (EG fixing slow/expensive/buggy PrivateSend, adding Masternode blinding, Lamassu ATM, and Shrem Debit).

Where may we find the latest Evolution code, including pull requests and commits?  Is it on github or is it just a rumor about Top Secret vaporware?

It's funny Dash hosts on github its roadmap, but not the actual code that supposedly will build out that roadmap.  Cheesy

https://github.com/dashpay/dash-roadmap/pull/5/files
Code:
 # DashPay Wallet Alpha (September 2017)
 - Dash version of CoPay

So there's your "Evolution update."  Evolusham is just Dash's shitty version of CoPay.  As usual, it's merely rebranding and breaking other people's technology while adding scumbag marketing.

To their credit, CoPay put a direct github link right at the top of their page, where it belongs.

Thus we may observe all the latest Evolusham updates by visiting https://github.com/bitpay/copay (which is where the devs Dash intends to copy publish new code).  Cheesy

Still in alpha, bad sign, we can't see the real release in 2025, will you have another round of ICO?

Rome wasn't built in a day Cheesy

Rome wasn't completed in a day, but then again neither was Project Xanadu.

The first useful structures in Rome certainly didn't take 10 years and millions of dollars just to "research" decentralized foundation pouring and innovative start-from-the-roof-and-build-down techniques.

If Rome had been conceived of and attempted to be build using a top-down master-planned out-of-control-scope-creep approach like Maidsafe's, it would have never been built, much less become the center of an empire.

How many times do you need re-invent the brick before settling for something that works?  Why the unending hostility for the KISS principle?
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Viacoin (VIA) - Safe | Segwit | Lightning Network | Auxpow | Fast on: September 30, 2017, 01:39:55 AM
How will miners be paid when the last Viacoin is mined?  Will VIA blocks only be created when sufficient fee pressure exists in the mempool?

Is there no need for tail emission because of merged mining with LTC, or is the plan for VIA transaction fees to provide mining incentives?

Good questions there, was wondering the same actually, although I think the first one has been answered at some point? Tongue

Thanks!  Smiley

PIVX sounds difficult to tell and remember. Definitely need a re-branding name.

Dash Unlimited

As in, 'not limited by a giant instamine, centralization, FOUNDATION, shitty pump/shill/troll cult community, etc.'

Oh wait, Dash is trademarked by a totally-not-centralized, totally legit and not at all shady Dash Foundation entity based in New Zealand and controlled by a Swiss shell company.

It would be fun to goad this decentralized-in-name-only entity into filing a claim, but PIVX may not want the hassle and association with Dash-style theft of another coin's name ('member poor Dashcoin?).

What about Dcash?  Short for "digital cash."

Since PIVX are confirmed and spendable ~instantly, while Dash's InstantSend has been broken/disabled since August, now is the perfect time to increase public awareness of that fundamental difference.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 28, 2017, 12:20:56 AM
Using the Masternode backdoor euphemistically called a "spork," embarrassed, humiliated Dash developers quickly disabled the shitty, broken, poorly designed and tested InstantSend feature, which allows users to create double-spent transactions.

All credibility of the article is gone now.

Dash developers quickly demonstrated Dash is 100% centralized and effectively under the control of EVAN DUFFIELD DBA THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION, INC.

All credibility of the decentralization theater is gone now.
