PM sent for the 18 Lealana Brass.
423  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 02, 2015, 01:19:27 AM
How long will this last?

I believe it's a permanent add. Today's silliness was a fun way to reintroduce the idea.
Its probably permanent. They had it enabled a while ago but they turned it off, I still don;t know why though. And you are correct they probably released it today for some fun but it will get serious again tomorrow when april fools day is over.

I don't think they turned avatars off. It was the result of attacks/hacking attempts on the forum if I remember correctly.
424  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 09:42:18 PM
I thought it was an April fools joke. Is it only available today? Smiley

Only today (April Fools Day) are the avatars switched to the random joke/meme/Spongebob avatars. After today everybody's avatars will be switched back to the ones they have uploaded, and apparently from now on all members above "Full Member" status will be able to upload/change avatars at will.

I'm interested in the Lealana 5 LTC. Any idea on price? I would be interested to trade too, but doubt I have anything I'd be willing to trade that you don't already have.

Lol...   Reminds me of this picture:

I wonder if mine shows as a Spongebob, child stoner, or meme?

this is yours

figure out where it leads to and you can hear a nice song :p

Awesome, I just listened to the whole song again for nostalgia purposes...   simply beautiful.   Smiley

I think it is a lot of fun to get to have your own personal avatar, it should make each person more unique. I think it is somewhat strange that so many people have spongebob avatars though. I wouldn't think that so many people who are into bitcoin would be into spongebob

Lol. I didn't know so many people were into blazing houseplants either.

C'mon guys - this is just crazy.  The poor guy went to JAIL yesterday.  He has done so much for the community.  His crime was TINY!

This is all we managed to scrape up for him?  (.6 BTC)  What!?
https://blockchain.info/address/1NEgShr962NMHXet3WTVzwuW2189JRrP93

C'mon you cheap bastards, give the guy a few bucks.

I challenge you, no, I demand you pick up your damn android and kick down a few bucks.  Just to make his first day feel a little better like someone actually cares.  I am sleeping in nice sheets tonight - he is sleeping with four roommates on canvas.  To answer this challenge, please send .111 bitcoin to 1NEgShr962NMHXet3WTVzwuW2189JRrP93 so we can see who agrees.

It looks like bracek gave him 60 BTC.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=817069.0

I'm glad you brought this up Og. I didn't know Charlie personally but liked the guy from what I did know about him.   .....up until I learned that he had ripped bracek off for 60 BTC, knowingly and intentionally. It was definitely no accident and it seemed like he was using his higher reputation to get away with stealing from a lower rep. member. I'm not saying everything about the guy is bad, but that was definitely wrong.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Examples of public rejection of fiat on: March 31, 2015, 10:21:25 PM
Locally I've seen some businesses refuse to accept cash, although they should, according to law. They only accept cards, I haven't challenged them about it, but I would think if you said you were tired of cash, that they would probably not accept bitcoin, and the person behind the desk would probably not have a single clue when you make some drama and leave the door saying you won't pay in fiat.

This makes no sense to me. Why would a business not accept cash, which comes with no processing fees, and only accept cards which charge them ~1-3% for each transaction?

431  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-27] Forbes: Bitcoin's Blockchain Offers Safe Haven For Malware on: March 30, 2015, 10:15:18 AM
That is stinky FUD without much basis in the real world.
Forbes has run several great BTC articles over the years and it is a shame to see something that low quality published now.

I agree 100% on both points. Unfortunately I believe we will see more & more of this type of baseless FUD news about Bitcoin hitting the mainstream media as BTC continues to grow. The sad thing is that the average, non-tech savvy person will probably just accept it as facts without bothering to even look into it.

Would like to join this campaign please, I haven't participated in a sig. campaign for a while. LuckyBit is the only gambling site I trust to send my BTC to without even looking at the site.

I would love to get the solid silver but don't have the extra funds at the moment. Is there anyway I could purchase just 1 of the silver-plated coins? I see that it doesn't let me reduce the quantity of 2, can only increase it.
434  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy bitcoin with credit card on: March 28, 2015, 10:24:34 PM
Coin.mx is a very reputable site that is located in the US and lets you buy Bitcoin with credit/debit cards, as well as a variety of other payment methods. I have been using them to buy BTC for about a year now and have always had good experiences, never any problems. Whenever there have been small issues, their Support team is very helpful & responsive and is available on site, via email, and telephone. They are always my top recommendation when people ask where to buy Bitcoin with credit/debit cards. The verification process doesn't take long, and once you're verified you can always buy & withdraw BTC within minutes. Compare this to Coinbase where it can take 4 days-weeks to get your BTC!! The world of cryptocurrencies is 24/7 and moves fast, it shouldn't take days/weeks to get the Bitcoin you paid for in my opinion!

Here is a link to check it out, and if you deposit and buy BTC using my link you get $5 of BTC for free: Buy Bitcoin with your credit/debit card from Coin.mx

I hope this helps and good luck!
435  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Physical bitcoins - Bitcoin Exchange of New Orleans on: March 27, 2015, 03:15:29 PM
There is somebody on eBay periodically selling the old NolanCoins, maybe check there if you don't reach a deal here. The new ones are nice and have some of the lowest premiums for loaded physical Bitcoins.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ► ► ► Cryptonic PHYSICAL MONEROj for SALE on: March 26, 2015, 09:34:55 AM
Wow, I must say those are some very fine looking coins for your first design! I have one or more of almost every physical Bitcoin & other cryptos, and also a silverbug, so I am very interested in these! I am admittedly ignorant when it comes to Monero though, and the first question that came to my mind was wondering what the "Moneroj" was in relation to Monero?

I think it's a pretty cool idea with the base58 characters engraved on the side of each coin, though I don't fully understand how all of that will work, I think I get the gist of it. Very interesting that you are able to come up with a way to assign a physical crypto coin to a specific crypto address without going the traditional 'private key contained underneath tamper-evident hologram' route. I had to post right away, as I rarely ever venture into the altcoin sections, and didn't want to forget about this thread. Going to check out your website now to hopefully learn some of my ignorance away.  Smiley

Here you go, and the OP was active on here very recently. I would try sending him a PM if I were you. Good luck.

There was somebody on here a few months back selling copies of the full blockchain on some nice USB jump drives, I can't remember who it was but maybe you can find it in a search? I will try to find it for you if I have time.
439  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Bitcoin Personal Wallet on: March 23, 2015, 12:39:35 PM
Form submitted and payment sent, 0.03 BTC to include a tamper-evident bitcoin sticker.

Looking forward to getting this and having something durable I can carry in my wallet that I could whip out and accept a BTC payment with in person (hopefully this happens sometime).
440  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Bitcoin Personal Wallet on: March 23, 2015, 12:22:41 PM
OK, it looks like I have to make a card or two more, so I'm reopening this post if anyone who hasn't ordered before, and still wants to, may do so now.

Act fast!  Wink

Awesome, I'm in for one, I was feeling somewhat disappointed with myself that I didn't get in on the first rounds.

Will fill out Google form now and then send payment.

Thanks
