421  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: MS30 Bus Bar for overclocking on: February 17, 2024, 11:31:44 PM
Is this for mass producing for whatsminer units? I couldn't find any data length and width of this busbar they usually call it a copper sheet I suggest better buy it and measure it with your own I found Zeusbtc has this https://www.zeusbtc.com/ASIC-Miner-Repair/Parts-Tools-Details.asp?ID=2521

It's around $7 but the problem is zeusbtc does not sell 1 piece moq is 10 pieces but if you are looking for the same copper sheet check Aliexpress I saw a Busbar with the same appearance or check this link it is a bit expensive compared from Zeusbtc.
422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] GoldDigger and it's variant targeting banking apps and crypto wallets on: February 17, 2024, 10:58:58 PM
That is why I hate to use facial recognition to use for login passwords even on my phone I choose to use a password or PIN instead of using fingerprint or facial recognition because that's not safe even when using them on finance apps.

If someone poses those biometrics data I'm sure they can use it to log in to bank accounts or any finance app we use and steal all our hard-earned money.
Having a long and strong password is enough for me to keep my wallets and finance app safe than using biometrics.
423  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No KYC Crypto Trading Platforms on: February 16, 2024, 08:05:24 PM
Are you sure you are offering a no KYC crypto but the privacy policy itself doesn't apply under cookies it says we can decline or accept cookies if we want to but there is no option to decline or accept it on the main page.

Also, this is not the right place to announce this site if you want to, move this to the service announcement instead.

About the privacy policy, it is plagiarism and it is generated from a Privacy policy generator pointed to https://www.privacypolicytemplate.net/
Same with the TOS plagiarism and came from the TOS generator.

Is this site connected to coinshub.org?

So do you think we can trust an exchange with plagiarism Policies and TOS?
424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Changed Sharing setting on Macbook, and Core 26.0 lost sync with external drive on: February 16, 2024, 06:02:22 PM
Thanks Yes have tried searching as suggested, but I don't have a Bitcoin folder in the addresses we've discussed on my internal drive...

I can see that Bitcoin Core is running and saving the data to the internal drive in the Activity Monitor.

However, I cannot find a single file.

What would be good is a way of finding out the directory Bitcoin core is linked to. Can this be done at the Terminal/Command prompt?

thanks

Ok if you can't find it you should be able to find the right directory in the information tab of Bitcoin Core so to find the information tab open Bitcoin Core and go to Window> Information.
You should be able to see datadir and Blocksdir under that it should be the data you looking for.

Here's what it looks like

425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Changed Sharing setting on Macbook, and Core 26.0 lost sync with external drive on: February 16, 2024, 03:00:15 PM
I don't have a Macbook but let's see if I can give you some solution to your issue.

Have you tried to search the folder instead of the block data? You can use the magnifying glass on the top right corner or use "Command + F" and type "blocks" The result should show two blocks folder if you are right that Bitcoin core created a new folder to resync or redownload the whole blockchain.

If you already have downloaded blocks I suggest make or edit bitcoin.conf file and put manually the directory of your blockchain so that it won't redownload all data that you already downloaded before.

You can find the bitcoin.conf under this directory below or you can find it on the GUI by going to settings>options and then open the configuration file

Code:
$HOME/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/bitcoin.conf

Edit it with Notepad or software on a Macbook that can edit the file and paste this config below it's just a sample but you should replace it with your Bitcoin path folder and then save it and reboot Bitcoin core.

Code:
datadir=$HOME/Library/Application\ Support/Bitcoin

If the blockchain is on a different path you can point it only the block folder use this parameter below

Code:
blocksdir=$HOME/Library/Application\ Support/Bitcoin/blocks
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Helium raspberry pi mining still possible? on: February 16, 2024, 02:02:30 PM
Helium isn't mining, there's no "proof", but that wasn't your question.
Helium uses LoRan and LoRan is a proprietary protocol so you have to pay for the interface and the included royalties.
It has nothing to do with RPi, any host will do but you still have to buy proprietary hardware for the LoRan interface and possibly
the Helium software.
It's all just a scam, IMO.

How did you know that this is a scam? I'm actually following this project since 2021 and join many community just to be updated about this project I'm a bit late building my own RPi helium miner when it was available before but right now I'm interested the only problem is I heard that I can't mine helium with RPi but according to them if I do some experiment maybe I can mine HNT and rewarded with IOT.
That is why I decided to create a thread here and maybe someone here mining HNT with raspi and hoping that they can give some ideas or a setup on how to DIY helium miner because buying ready-made hotspot from abroad is pretty expensive so maybe I can save more if I do it with myself.

Apparently they do have it. It's known as “Proof of Coverage

OP before you think of anything, when you view the network map. Are you located in an area where there are so many hotspots nearby?

In my current location yes not but not saturated meaning I have lots of hex that I could claim if I decided to mine helium.
And take note Proof of coverage is not the only source of the reward they also have "Relay Device Data" where you can earn helium by transferring device data the more device data a hotspot transfers the more you earn. It is the same as a hotspot with many device connected if more people are connected on the same hotspot you can earn more.

427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Helium raspberry pi mining still possible? on: February 15, 2024, 08:20:59 PM
Is there anyone here who earns HNT with Raspberry Pi?

I saw some DIY guides out there that include RaK kit planning to build but the problem is I'm not sure if I can mine or be rewarded with helium running Raspberry Pi.
Just confused with articles out there about LoRawan kit for helium mining. I hope someone here could give me some insight if Raspi is still applicable for helium mining I already asked this many times on their discord but they kicked me out from the server without telling me whats the reason is.
428  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost 12-word seed, got good hints on: February 15, 2024, 05:12:51 PM
I think it's impossible to recover if you only had the first letter of each word without the public key or BTC address.

If you have the BTC address or private key there is a possibility to recover the seed but it will take too long to recover do you know the position of each word? If it is just 1 or 2 missing words you can easily recover this seed.

Anyway, alternatively from the suggestion above if you want a recovery tool with GUI this one should be easier to use compared to BTCrecovery.

Check this link below.

- The FinderOuter, a bitcoin recovery tool

Once you open this go to the missing Mnemonic and use the advanced tool to generate all words that start with that letter.
429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Verifying a supposed Crypto site on: February 15, 2024, 04:53:24 PM
In addition to check if the site is legit or is a scam check the domain in whois.com check the date if it's new then you can't trust the site.
Since the domain mentioned is an old domain to check if it's legit or not you need to use archive.org and check what it was before.

By checking the domain you provided above it seems that this domain was changed in hand on November 5, 2023. As you can see on the archive it wasn't the same as what the site looked like before meaning this is new and possible the scammer is trying to fool you by using the old domain.

It doesn't even have policies and TOS and its chat support doesn't respond.

The weird thing is how you found this site if it was from your friend how did your friend get this site? Or are you just taking some ideas from us to improve your site?
430  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: S9k Zero Fan Error - Fans Running on: February 15, 2024, 03:34:56 PM
So after you relocate the miner you always got the error on the fans?

Would you mind sharing with me the whole kernel logs of the unit so that we can analyze the issue?

Also, I would like to ask if you are using an outlet extension?

Things that I would like you to try first is to put all original parts fans and control board into the unit and try to run it again but this time not in the garage but go back to where you plugged this unit before when it was working fine or try to plug the unit directly to wall outlet.
My suspicious is the power source and maybe the power supply is not giving enough power due to low outlet voltage or amp.

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Homelesswap on: February 14, 2024, 10:59:10 PM
on the site homelesswap.finance
Used by millions.
Trusted with billions.
Homeleswap has the most users of any decentralized platform, ever.
And those users are now entrusting the platform with over $1.5 billion in funds

I mean, you don't have to lie, because that way you make it look like a serious scam attempt.

If you have millions of users, then why your facebook fan page doesn't have any follower, and your only post is your profile pic?

facebook.com/profile.php?id=100084522925146

And the links in your site footer are wrong or broken, the contact button sends to the main page, the Audit and Kyc buttons send to the same file in google drive, the Litepaper should say "White paper", and the X/twitter link is wrong too.
Quoted edited to remove link

That's their way to attract people to use their service but the fact is this is a scam if you go to the connect wallet and check every review of the wallet app there have many fake reviews but most legit reviews there it tells you how this site is scam all customers funds are gone after they connect their wallet to this site.

So be careful to don't download the fake app from the "connect wallet" there is no legit app under that link.
433  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder of possible fake app download on application stores on: February 14, 2024, 10:34:21 PM

Any app can be cloned and fake in order to scam some people. Use the official site to download a software or just make sure the app you are about to download have been downloaded by many people like above 100000 people before you proceed to download it.

I have an experienced before on downloading a fake app even if they have good reviews and many downloads counts it doesn't mean that the app you downloaded is the legit one because they can easily manipulate this including reviews.

For me, to make sure to download the legit app make sure to go to the official site and click the link there instead of searching it through the apple AppStore or PlayStore. That's way better or if better research the developer if it came from the real developer of that app.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: copying a pruned blockchain to another computer not working on: February 14, 2024, 08:30:41 PM
Pruned setup still needs the latest blocks that is it tells you to run Bitcoin core with -reindex.

If I were you since it's pruned instead of copying the downloaded blockchain, I suggest to remove the blocks and chainstate folder and let the Bitcoin core sync and download the latest blocks if the prune size is not that big.
435  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Dead on arrival brand new S21 on: February 13, 2024, 08:43:23 PM
So you mean even if you switch the first hashboard and the 2nd hashboard the error is still the same and the 2nd hashboard from chain 1 now it become 0 ASIC?

It seems that the issue is the cable but would you mind to try this first since bitmain hasn't released any firmware yet try holding the IP report button for 5 seconds to reset the unit to factory default and try it again.

If it doesn't work try to run the unit one by one by removing the two hashboard and let the one run because the first error you get from the kernel logs is the power abnormality there might be issue on the power supply but first we need to make sure if the wires are file so try to run them one by one and make sure also check the data cables one by one if these are working fine.
436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 13, 2024, 08:27:48 PM
That's normal there are some traders or investors who lose in trading you can't just make them all win because that's the cycle of crypto trading. What do you think will happen to the market if people only keep buying and no one is selling? The price will increase but you won't make any profit if you don't sell that is why exchanges were built for trading purposes if you don't have good strategies you will lose and you won't make any profit.
That is why you need to study how the market works and analyze the crypto and chart so that you know where to enter and when to sell to make a profit and have a backup strategy once it fails.

About what you heard traders regret because they sell early and hoping that the price will drop again at a very cheap price they are already late and I think those people are not traders but investors because traders are always monitoring the chart and waiting for opportunities to buy and sell later on the right time with a backup plan(stop-loss) to avoid losing much and do DCA instead.
437  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Certificate Renewal or Man-in-the-middle attack? on: February 12, 2024, 11:18:52 PM
I don't know what caused this issue but are you using a VPN while using Sparrow? It won't be safe if you proceed better report this issue since I never heard someone had the same issue.

Do you own this electrum.diynodes.com or this is what you paste under private electrum?
It seems you need to enable SSL on the settings or provide the server certificate.

Check their GitHub page below and make a report issue.

438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet.dat advice on: February 12, 2024, 10:11:56 PM
You can try to dump private keys from this wallet.dat file but before you take any action make a copy of your wallet.dat file to make sure if anything happens to the wallet you still have a backup copy.

You can try  to install the latest version of Bitcoin Core and import it since you have a backup copy if it fails you can make another copy of the original file and try to dump the private key using pywallet.py you can download it here https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet
and use this command below

without pass
Code:
pywallet.py --dumpwallet  --datadir=.

with pass
Code:
pywallet.py --dumpwallet  --datadir=. --passphrase=YourPassword

439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoind -? doesnt show many of the commands it used to on: February 12, 2024, 09:16:18 PM
Have you tried to use bitcoin-cli help instead of using -? it might only show limited commands compared to using "help".

I tried to send a command using the command you use and yes it doesn't show these commands I searched in Google to find out why these aren't listed on "-?" but I couldn't find it.
440  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Neither the red light or green light turn on after reset on: February 12, 2024, 07:46:59 PM
Based on the logs above the first and the 3rd hashboard are having issues detecting ASIC chips the first one detected 0 ASIC and the 3rd one detected 15 ASICs only.

What I would like you to try is to unplug these hashboard and clean all terminals you can use the isopropyl alcohol, remove all the dust, and then test them one by one.
You can follow this guide on how to test them one by one from this link below also don't forget to try swapping cables power and data cables.

We need to make sure if this hashboard has a hardware issue or is just a connection issue.
