Hello everyone!
There can never be enough exposure about cryptocurrency in general and about the Guldencoin, so here is some more exciting news!
My father and i are working on a sequence of 5 episodes for Frontier magazine, where the first part that is now released and kan be bought here(http://frontierworld.nl/webshops/?product=frontier-classic-21-1-januari-februari-2015) is more like an introduction to cryptocurrency, although the Guldencoin is definately mentioned a few times in this first part, in the later parts there will be much more about it. This first parts is mainly to warm people up for crypto in a neutral way. Frontier magazine has 3k subscribers in the Netherlands and abroad to their paperback magazine.

So.........

KDC needs a relationship with gold. Whether being back by gold or being used to buy gold, like at Amagi or Agora metals.

https://agoracommodities.com/
https://www.amagimetals.com/

Both of these websites accept BTC for gold and other precious metals.

https://www.amagimetals.com/info/btc-as-legal-tender-in-california/

Read the title of the link!!!!!
Explains all, and is a step closer to full fledged US adoption.

erhmmm...... Fuse...... time to get these sites on par with KDC.

I'd love to get KDC accepted on Amagi or Agora, but I feel we have a long way to go.  We need to get people to participate in the discussion here first Smiley

Which brings me to another question.  Is it too late for KDC?  I'm ready to put some time into getting this running again, but is the community interested in bringing this back?

You should be able to BUY an airplane with NLG when it hits 1 USD. Wink

True.

Honestly though, I'd rather buy a bunch of plane tickets for my family, and then a really nice flat in the heart of Amsterdam.  Maybe buy a pub or something to occupy my time.  I'm tired of this work for everyone else thing I've been doing... hell, I'm tired of being obligated to work.  I want to retire young and enjoy my remaining years while I can.  If that's in NL, I'm all about it.  I'll buy the Dutch Rosetta Stone software right now. lol

Excellent points Fuse.

Investor money is great, but you need to have a plan to spend it before you get it, and once you have a plan you need to have the gears already in motion so that everything is simply waiting for the money drop. Investors aren't usually going to just throw money your way without an appealing plan which returns their money with a worthwhile profit.

Which is why I say we get together in Amsterdam and discuss all this over a beer or two.  Grin

-Fuse

I'm in  Grin

Me too! You know what they say: one, two, many.... If you take up the first two, I'll pay the rest  Grin

DEAL!

All I need now is for someone to pump the price of NLG to around a dollar, and then get an airline to take NLG so I can get there Smiley

Am I missing something?  What does Digibyte's private investor in Asia have to do with Cryptsy, or was that not the reason this was brought up?

If the discussion is about looking for a private investor, and not the exchanges, then you need to have something for the investment to go towards.  I think we would need to ask this one question- what would we do with $250k?

If we're brainstorming projects, I would say one way to raise awareness is to target tourism with NLG themed "all-inclusive" packages.  Maybe push for a bread and breakfast or small private hotel to take NLG.  Or even create a home-swap/weekly rental site for people looking to stay in NL and NL provinces with NLG.  Aruba is part of NL, right?  I would pay NLG to stay in Aruba.  I'd even pay to rent a flat in NL for a week.  And if my NLG vacation included more shops and restaurants that accepted NLG, you could create that all-inclusive vacation that I'm talking about.  Taking $250k to partner with the travel and tourism bureau would be a nice move.

Another thing I've been thinking about is that 1 page ad that was discussed.  $250k would go a long way to get some full page or half page advertising for NLG to bring recognition to the coin.  Or one big party... like a launch party.  Young hipsters in one big place at once... food, drinks, live music... and lots of info about NLG all around.

There's lots of ideas I have bouncing around my head.  If I had the time, money and people to work with I could probably come up with some real world solutions.  LTEX is good at this, as proven by the petrol idea.  Maybe we need to all meet together for a NLG conference of sorts and work on this stuff.  I could use break from the US for a bit.

The APIs that Cryptsy offers not only benefit multipools, but they benefit trading bots as well.  Cryptsy is also pretty well known for the pump and dumps that happen there.  PND groups will randomly pick a coin on there and play god with the price.

I've brought this stuff up every time Cryptsy is mentioned in this thread.  So the negatives have been discussed.  Let's do this differently.

What can Cryptsy do for NLG that the other exchanges that currently trade NLG can't do?

-Fuse

Volume.
and a spare exchange with volume when Bittrex runs out.  Just like today bittrex went offline for couple of hours.

and for me personall, i really hate bittrex.

lol... I really hate Cryptsy.  I've found Bittrex to be a much better experience overall.

But we have spare exchanges:

I can understand the volume concern, but getting accepted at Cryptsy isn't going to increase volume, it's going spread the volume thinner between Bittrex and Cryptsy.

IMO, trading is in a lull right now.  It has been for a while.  When NLG was trading at a higher price, the volume wasn't an issue.  When CM is off the chain, and the market isn't 70% insta-selling, we'll see a more true market for NLG on Bittrex.

Vote for NLG on crytpsy,

https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes

Please don't.  We've gone over why this is not a good idea at the moment.

Maybe when the DIGI code is live, and we've evaluated it's effectiveness, but not right now, please.

on 1 point i don't get it

why are some coins so popular and Guldencoin not ?

Popularity is very subjective to a multitude of factors, often hype and opinion. Longevity, stability, and proportional tracking with whatever primary exchange system is being used, is a better indicator for true 'popularity'. NLG reflects these better than many coins. Others have some great points as well.

What coins are more popular in your opinion?

dogecoin, paycoin, litcoin and more

Dogecoin started as a joke and to everyone's surprise it just took off.  I really don't think people could have predicted it.  My team mined it because it "for shits and giggles".  DOGE was more of a "lets prove this joke coin can get a Nascar Sponsor", or "people thought this was a joke, so how can we spend enough money to prove them wrong" coin than anything else.  The popularity of DOGE lies in the fact that DOGE shouldn't be popular.

IMO, Paycoin is a huge scam.  "We developed these new miners that make you money all the time"... aka a single desktop in a closet somewhere that stakes coins via POS and the company keeps a ledger to pay people out from.  How innovative.  There's a reason no one has seen the equipment, either hashlets or the hashstaker... they don't exist.  I'm still waiting for the Ponzi scheme news on this one.  If the popularity increases, they can keep selling their "gear" and keep the payouts flowing.  If people lose interest, give it 3-4 months before you start seeing missing returns on investment.  But GAW brought mining to the mining-illiterate... as proven by CM's ungodly pool of hashrate.  When they started converting hashlets to hashstakers... it was an easy win for the coin itself.  Paycoin isn't a popular coin because it's popular... it's popular because GAW controls mining.

Litecoin is the "second" innovation in crypto.  I'll tell you though that two years ago, people called it a shitcoin that would never go anywhere.  The BTC elitists thumbed their noses at it like the CM dopes thumb their nose at NLG.  Give it time... we'll have the recognition that LTC has one day.  It just takes time.

why are they than so popular? all our projects go live and on some coins it is just, the most projects do not go live

at that point i don't get that

I think mostly because it's not a global coin... so people look at it and say, "well I can't use it here".  To be clear, I'm not advocating at all for foreign use.  I think it should be used in NL, and if it spreads anywhere, it should be central to Europe.

If I hadn't been approached by WaterLooDown to start a pool, I probably wouldn't have thought about a country-specific coin.  Not that I'm against them, but to be honest, what can I do with NLG in the US?  Again, not knocking NLG's domestic focus, which I fully back, 1000000%.

So for it to really be popular here, you need more NL users in these forums banging the drum for NLG.  I know there are language specific sub-forums.  I hope people are hitting those hard to keep those users engaged.  The movement is already happening on the street, but a lot of the "hype" comes from BCT users.  IMO, we don't need hype, we need the people on the street.

Sorry if that seemed like it rambled on a bit... my brain is not working right today for some reason.  Probably lack of sleep.  I need to recharge my lasers.

on 1 point i don't get it

why are some coins so popular and Guldencoin not ?

I like to consider NLG a grass-roots movement, led by the community.  This is a very different approach from what other coins have done in the past.  That's one of the things I think this coin has done that makes it stand out as a winner in my book.  There isn't a "Take all this NLG and BTC and say our coin is great" mantra that you see out there with other alts.  There is no overhyping the coin or unfulfilled promises.  The team and the community set goals here, and they reach them.  They create projects that are worthwhile for users, and people honestly use them instead of tweeting about them and never looking at it again.

Now I supposed we could get a Nascar like DOGE, or fake shoutouts like POT, but for now I love the pace this is going.  Steady, organic growth.  Couldn't get any better  Smiley

Price won't change with Digi implementation, it will just be different miners selling coins. The main thing is to reduce long block times and make things more fair for miners.

What will change price is more services being added, this will get investment from people already involved with crypto currency, once this happens it will go more mainstream in the Netherlands
as it will be spoken about a lot more.

Although I do not think price is really important yet, I do think that price will change once CleverMining is gone. Why? Because if Guldencoin is mined by dedicated miners, it won't get insta-dumped, thus demand will get higher as supply goes more and more on hold in long term wallets of miners.

Guldencoin will go more mainstream in NL for sure, but not because services are added or investors from crypto hop on. It will get attention because it's going to be pushed by a serious group that means business. This group is called: The Community!

It's like you are in my head.  How's it look in there?  I know it's long overdue for a spring cleaning, so excuse the clutter lol

right!  Wink

I'd have to disagree slightly with this price discussion... but only slightly.

I'm not sure where everyone thinks the CM coins are going, but when 70% of the coins being mined in a day aren't being insta-sold anymore, there will most definitely be a change in price.  If the debate goes back to supply vs demand, then you are essentially saying that those 200k-400k coins aren't going to be supplied to markets anymore.  Sure people will sell, but I'm going to guess you are going to see more bag-holders from here on out.

What is the last block your wallet is showing?  Also, you're not showing up in the miner's list if you are currently mining on the pool.  Are you cloud mining or mining with your own hardware?  What settings are you using?

This has been happening a lot lately, mostly due to the fact that the TAG network is forked.  Please make sure you're on the same fork as the pool before you mine on the pool.  Coinwarz and Tagmining are on the same fork, so you can check there any time you need to see what the last block height was.

I will look at the logs jelin, and see what they show with regards to your address.

Sync to tagmining.com.  It's the same chain as coinwarz, and seems to be the highest block height so far.  My server node is showing around 25-30 connections on average.
