Tagmining has been updated, but in the process I noticed an issue with getinfo displaying the incorrect version. It through me off at first, and I recompiled/installed to check to see if I had messed something up in the process. Same results. Then I checked the protocol version number and it matched with the new code on github.
So to verify you are on the correct version, your protocol version should be 1000300.

FYI: DOWNTIME.
We will have about a 5 minute downtime for the new update shortly. You may or may not notice it. I may also update the stratum protocol to a newer fork which adds more customization through the config. If I do that, mining will be down for about 10 minutes.

EDIT: Tagcoind updated to version 1.3. Stratum left untouched for now.

Can someone quickly point out the difference between a 280X Vapor-X and a 280X Toxic? Aside from the price. If you have both or have seen the hash rates of both. (Sapphire brand.)
Power usage and clock speeds are higher on the toxic. Also the 3 fan on the toxic vs the 2 on the vapor provides a hell of a lot more cooling power. And kind of a neat little aesthetic thing, the toxic cards light up "SAPPHIRE" on the top side of the card. Looks cool when you have a farm of them(which Mark does). -Fuse

I'd like to remind people, that Mr. Tagbond put in at least 2 million USD into the whole tagbond project and platform, which includes the coin. He does admit that tagcoin itself is only a small part of the whole. How small? I don't know. Much bigger than all the other alt-coins.
The other alt-coins, most of them, aren't worth their trading price.
This.

The price of TAG is double what it was 3 weeks ago. On average, it is up, not down. Hold your coin or sell. If you sell, you do what all the other weak hands have done and drive the price down more. Hold and you will be primed for the 1.5% monthly vs yearly bump that POS is getting.
Either way though, just mine the coin. Orphans are killing us, yes. I don't deny that. Tagmining is getting bent over with orphans, as are the rest of the pools. But if you look at the upside of this situation, you're making the same coin. Every time there is a string of orphans, we see a decent run of blocks (around 20+ or so rounds on Tagmining) where the difficulty drops like crazy and we earn some solid coin. Plus the orphans have drove the multipools out of the picture, which is a godsend. I'm not saying, "Hurrah for orphans!", but rather let's just get through it.
Stop storming the castle with pickaxes and torches people. I'd rather they get the fix tested and working right, than hurry and give us half a fix.
One more thing. There's a github for the project. If people are concerned about the fix, clone the repository under your account and create a pull request for actual bug fixes if you think it will help. The least it will do is give the devs a look at some code to compare to.

Fuse, if you can find out who those others were, compile a list and let me know. As a goodwill gesture to all in that list, I will gift them some TAG. If it's only Chofoe , I will gift just him.
Sent you a PM, Vesper.

Announcement regarding this week's jackpot:
Chofoe had brought it to my attention that there was an error in the fact that he wasn't listed in the eligible miners for the week, even though he actually was eligible. Like I had mentioned earlier, the script I use to calculate the jackpot decided that it didn't like all the orphan rounds and crashed about a billion times. I had worked on it a little, and I thought I had it squared away and working properly. However, this obviously isn't the case. There is a possibility that there could be miners besides Chofoe that weren't included, but should have been. However, I can't go back and re-run the eligibility again, as I have already paid out the 3 miners who won.
There is no excuse for the fact that it wasn't working properly. It should have been rock solid, and it wasn't. I'll be looking at how to fix the issue and improve the code.
I am truly sorry to Chofoe, and also to any other miners that may have been left out of the eligibility this week because of my error. It wasn't intentional, and I promise it will not happen again.

6th JackpotAlrighty folks, here's the info: There were 368 total rounds for the week. To be eligible for this jackpot, you would have needed to submit shares to 75% of those rounds, equaling 275 rounds. There were 34(record) people who qualified for the jackpot. This was out of... get ready... 614(another record) miners who mined on the pool this week. The qualifying miners are as follows: acrinfo666 AFKMPEG (previous week win - excluded)anchous asdf bobgbtc Bodamn buzz_1976 cccfree888 clxy dermaxxx FusesDad (excluded from jackpots)giltar gorilla_warfare IrritableHacker jdlavaud johndec kubur MashRinx minercoin Myrfalas ny2cafuse phi2017 qiang623 Sergik sesamum TagCoinDaddy thbrd Thekmartsheriff therteen tiger vesperwillow wgs520 xjf xmwxw zybqe177 Now some not so great news... frankly, the jackpot fund sucked this week due to the orphans. Approximately 1/3 of the blocks we mined this week were ophans, and as such we made no coin on them. So... This week's total fees and donations equal roughly 180TAG . So half of that, the total jackpot purse, is 90TAG. Like I had stated before, if the total jackpot wasn't 100TAG or more, I would pay in to make it 100TAG minimum. So the total payout will be 100TAG. This week's winners are as follows: 1st place - cccfree888 50TAG - TXID 742ce25be002345a348eed4bfa72e68b5d8de9835e3dd62f44ce5418857f376f 2nd place - giltar 30TAG - TXID 77aef5d9fcddfdccd0c07ac5703f517375e95991309a4447b3c2272aad56f931 3rd place - sesamum 20TAG - TXID dd693ea5fa1a8157c58368eb80f1243a92d0eadece5b0959d317f13c8c834fc6
Payments will be sent shortly, and TXID numbers will be posted above. Congratulations, miners! Good luck to everyone next week! Let's hope the orphans don't kill us again this week. -Fuse

FYI:
There is an issue processing the jackpot this week due to the orphans. The script I use will not properly parse through the orphan blocks and is throwing countless fatal errors when I run it.
I am working on a resolution to the script issue, but if it does not work, there will not be a jackpot this week. The jackpot fund will carry over to next week, and hopefully we can process the jackpot next week.
I'll keep you guys updated on the progress.
-Fuse
EDIT- I have modified the script code, and it appears to be working, but I need to break the rounds up into smaller processing groups(again orphans). It will take a little bit longer, but I should be able to complete the jackpot today.

CPU mining. ... and I just found a local supplier that has 280X cards. Is the TOXIC at $380 a good price? I'll go order a pair.
ORDER IT NOW! If you can get them sub $400(the over-inflated price almost everywhere in the US) you're at about 2kh/$, which is my target price point. Solid buy at $380, mate. I'd buy it at that price all day long. -Fuse

FYI... fork again after a long string of orphans. Probably similar to last time, so hop on now and ride out the low difficulty while we're ahead of the explorer, folks.

Yep, she's my wife. She keeps the house running, so she's pretty priceless. Of course, Bitcoin has it's own financial measurements. So... that being said... If anyone is interested in a trade for an amazing wife, I will accept Scrypt ASIC mining equipment or a substantial amount of bitcoin . Just joking, babe. -Fuse

Intresting post from someone that got his wallet adresses at the signature field...i guess its not for sending u money just for ur easy copy paste to exchange sites right ?
It's pretty common for community members to leave their addresses in their signature for the purpose of receiving tips for helping people out. If you look at any code developer, whether it be for pools, wallets, etc., almost all of them have their address in their signature for tips, or they will list it in a help post for the purposes of tips. If you look at almost any pool, you will see the original developer's wallet in the footer of the site. Most tutorials have a "tips accepted line somewhere". Tips are a common practice in the community. 24Kilo has helped numerous people, including myself. The fact that he has his address in his signature is in no way comparable to someone beg for donations because they are too lazy to work for their coin. In the last 2 months I have seen 24Kilo put his blood, sweat and tears into not only working an organic veggie farm, but a building up a farm for coin as well. -Fuse

Are we all just waiting for days for something to magically fix itself, and essentially screwing the miners on the network? Most pools are experience TONS of orphans..
POOL OPS, PLEASE PM ME YOUR ADDNODE ADDRESS (and what pool you operate) - we dont have that many pool on this network, if we all share our wallet node IP's we have a greater chance of unforking this for everyone.
I've posted it a few times before in this thread. I run tagmining.com, so -Fuse

My concern really is that STUPID California(don't ever move here) has tiered electric. So you go from $0.11 -> .24 -> .36 -> .48 a kw/h. $0.48 cents a f*cking kw/h depending on how much electric you use in a month. Our first bill out here when it was 110 degrees the whole month and we ran the AC, just the AC mind you, was like $500 because we hit that tiered rate.
So I know my partner and I are going to be sitting at about 21-22 GPUs once this next shipment comes in. We're spreading them across 4 dedicated 1000W PSUs and then 2-3 personal computers. I'm planning on moving back to NY, so ny2ca2nyfuse(kind of like John mentioned once lol). Out there it's a flat $.12 kw/h. So more than likely I will host the farm when I move. I just want to know if I should sock some coin away for the first few power bills.
But tbh, I'm not all that worried just yet. We still need someone to accept an offer on a house, which is turning out harder than expected. Such is life, I guess.

Under 20? Haha.. switching my available units back to tagmining..
Zinga, and found a block when I switched back! hhaha
I saw that lol. I'd love to tell people that we're pegging blocks like crazy at this difficulty, but I don't need the whole world jumping on the pool right now lol. -Fuse

We're ahead on track with the explorer and ahead of the other coins, bunch of orphans, but sub 20 difficulty. Let's push it forward and earn some coin, folks.

For the tagcoin explorer, sometimes i have to go in and restart the deamon, and it catches up...not quite sure why yet...same reason I have to restart my wallet sometimes perhaps..:-)
Maybe throw up a cronjob that does this automatically every couple hours ? It would alleviate the issue of having to do it manually.

So what is the favorite brand 270x? I installed an Asus 270x last night and pulling 445mh. Not too impressed.
I know the guys have a bunch of different ones, but holy heck, batman... I LOVE the gigabyte windforce 270X. I have them slammed on the board right next to each other doing 470kh each, and they all stay below 73 degrees. Two on a board and your mid 60s. That's with the fan running sub-2000RPM. And nearly silent. I couldn't hear two over my PSU fan in my main rig. -Fuse
