4543  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: January 11, 2014, 03:21:22 AM
Ok, I am not the smartest guy in the world so let me see if I understand.
Ken Slaughter and his relative have taken in $4M from investors (number correct?) and claims to have taken $6M in pre-orders (number correct?) and the only picture/evidence of progress toward the investors' end goal has been a picture of Ken in a garage looking warehouse space that would cost less than $2,000 per month to rent?
Is this correct?   Or can someone please post some stuff showing some sane reason that people would have bought $6M of pre-orders based on a dirty garage picture?
btw, how many months did it take for him to rent the dirty garage?   Perhaps, you can use this as a benchmark for the timeline of how long it will take him to design, produce, de-bug and deliver a miner?

Pay me $10K USD via BTC, and I'll show you via Google (a search engine, for those who have more money than brains) that there is no fuckin' way one satoshi should have gone to any entity that has Kenneth Slaughter's, et al. name on it.
4544  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Asic vendor review (WIP) on: January 11, 2014, 02:14:08 AM
You missed the first ASIC company to bring a product to market - ASICMiner.  Sells overpriced outdated technology at prices where the only one seeing ROI is ASICMiner.

Well, I didnt forget them, but they dont seem to selling (directly) to end users anymore in so far they are still selling anything at all, so Im not sure its that relevant for this thread.

I did add VMC, I somehow seemed to have forgotten them, and Im surprised no one thought of pointing that out.

Virtual Mining Corporation (VMC/AMC) ?/5
VMC is developing and selling preorders for 28nm structured asics, but havent shipped anything yet and havent really shown anything yet. Not much is known of their schedule and even less of the current project status, other than that its being delayed. Despite a public and verifiable partnership with eASIC, a well known semiconductor company with unquestionable expertise, and a business approach that in theory should enable fast time to market at relatively low risk, VMC is cloaked in so much secrecy that serious questions can be asked about their credibility.

“The fast design and turnaround time of Nexteme-3 28nm single via configuration ASIC devices coupled with the impressive performance and low power makes this an ideal solution for our Fast-Hash-One Bitcoin Mining Machines,” said Kenneth E. Slaughter, CEO of VMC. “The performance we have seen from the 28nm Nextreme-3 family has allowed us to develop a scalable platform that provides the computing power to satisfy the most demanding Bitcoin Mining cryptography problem.” added Slaughter

I have pre purchased at bitcoin mining system from Kenneth Slaughter of http://virtualminingcorp.com
for $4700 for the last two weeks I have not been able to reach him. I have phoned and left voice messages and sent many emails asking him why he has not delivered in November the mining system. I wanted to know from him when he would be able to ship out the bitcoin miner!

At this point has anyone else has problems with this company?
Any responsible business would at lest have a message to the customers on there website.

They would have people answering the office phone. So we have a single person for contact and he is not communicating?

The affiliate company to VMC called  Active Mining Corporation (Belize), I did a search online in belize and could not find this company?
VMC is getting there Asic chips from easic  http://www.easic.com
I don't know what Kenneth E Slaughter is doing but one thing I do know he has my money and I am starting to think that VMC company is not on the up and up!!!

Weekly Update: 1/8/13

Question From VinceSamios:

Quote
Update Requests:
When and Where will we be able to trade shares?

Crypto-Trade and ChromaWallet (colored Coins).  As soon as we get time to finish the
verification interface; however, our core business comes first and working on Intellihash.

Quote
When is the first batch of chips/boards supposed to arrive at VMC Assembly?

Our engineers are still designing our board. We had to change our engineering firm, and
learn a few lessons about hiring an engineer firm.  We don't have a date at this time.

Quote
What do you estimate the ActM hashrate be at the end of January, February and March?

Due to our inexperience with design, we have had a few set backs; however, we have hired
the most competent RTL design team to make sure that when we spin up our chip it will work.  They are
very competent at Low-Power and getting the most speed from the chip.

Quote
Do you have any more accurate energy efficiency figures yet? w/GH?

Not at this time.

Comment From The CEO

How I see us going forward is we will get our chip and boards into production as soon as possible.  Active Mining is in one of the best positions to take advantage of the Bitcoin network.  Once we have our chips and boards in production this year we will be one of only two companies in the world which manufactures Bitcoin mining hardware and also mines.  With this combination we have unlimited availability to bitcoin mining hardware only limited by our resources.  What I see in the future is bitcoin's exchange rate for USD going to over $10,000 in the next year.  If this happens Active Mining with its own chip, our current resources which will be increasing with the exchange rate, and eASIC as our partner will put us in an excellent position to dominate our market.  Intellihash will just be an added boost should it turn out to be a game changer.

Kenneth E. Slaughter, CEO/CTO

Yeah I'd like to know that too! Last news post was from 31st December. They claimed that they started shipping that day bu there have been no news updates since and no one on the forum seems to confirm receiving any units so far.
http://hashfast.org/List_of_Lies#We_Are_Shipping comes to mind.

About the italian cuisine... What can I say, I'm writing from an Italian pizzeria in Dublin Smiley

If HF has such a lick-ass kickass marketing team, then why didn't they invest under twenty bucks to secure hashfast.org?

Not sure, but maybe theymos has him holding some of BT's money.

The first week, the equipment was with Joe Morgan. He at least tried to replace some boards, but the replacements also overheated. Then he went silent for two weeks before I found out that my hosting provider had changed to Netsolus, and that my equipment had been with them all along. Still very confused by this...

So, it has been 9 days since HashFast last updated us telling us "We’ve Started Shipping!". It would be nice for an official update of some sort... such as, have you shipped more than the first 2 units... and when the hell will the rest of them ship? You are starting to become worse than BFL with your shitty customer service.

There wont be any updates until their 15. Jan deadline has passed.

And after that they will decide that they can take a few more weeks to update us.

Meanwhile, http://www.netsolus.com/hosted-services/bitcoin-hosting/hashfast

I spoke with netsolus.com customer service, they said that they are not going to host for BFL, and that, as the customer care rep said, BFL might be hosting its own miners.

Maybe because they found a more desirable company to host for.

"Bryan, where do you want us to put these 500 thingies?"

"Put ours over there. The ones HashFast refunded over there. And the ones they plan on shipping out over there, away from as much dust as possible."

Looks like Bryan is forgotten how to spell his name: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:tHGIw-AEAh8J:www.enomcentral.com/whois/hipaalink-org.html+&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

Mmm today I learned that if you take a microwave, disable all of the safety features, make a crucible and stucco it in graphite, while you can melt metal in it, it spews radiation everywhere.

It's just microwave radiation. It's not actually "radioactive"

Says the guy who said, "It's art! It's not actually a "coffee table"."  Grin

So, are you coming tothe Miami conference? I need to smack you.

Are you sure you wanted to use the word 'smack'?

Did it die after 9 days? I am seeing zeros for over 3 hours. I guess at least it is still under warranty ... barely.

Nah! Probably moved it, along with 500 others, to another pool. In Bitcoin-speak, it's called a three-prong attack. Search the term on this forum if you're not familiar with the reference.

Seems I spoke too soon, USPS made another attempt (After saying they were returning it!) and it went through, and I also received an email confirmation that they received it.

Same here. Just received a confirmation from Erin that my refund request has been received (both email and paper).

+1 for 'doxing' on a separate thread.
Did she say anything alarming?

Like they wouldn't accept anything but their form?

That's what Erin is saying:

Thank you for your email. We have very much appreciated your patience. At this time, we are only able to process refunds that accompany the attached form, that you should have received yesterday evening.

Please fill out the attached form, scan, and attach in reply to this email and we will be happy to expedite your refund.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Erin
