So after losing quite a lot of money due to the decrease in bitcoin value. I am now looking to spend a few bitcoins on Alt coins to try get myself back up. Does anyone have any good recomendations please?

Hi guys, I recieved this message from esotericizm and i'm not sure whether to trust it. The problem i have is i sent all my digi's to an address created on dgbaddress.org, and i cant import the private key.
I followed what he said but the updated software does nothing when i run it. So i quickly disconnected from the internet and scanned and removed found viruses. Is this guy trustworthy? The digibytes are still in the wallet.
I'm the dev of digibit (among other things). My name *was* in the OP but it may have gotten removed when the OP was reformatted, I am listed in the team info page on the official digibyte website though http://digibyte.co/content/digibyte-team. I just noticed you hadn't logged in for a couple of days and wanted to make sure my post didn't get lost so I private messaged you instead I compiled that version of digibit from the source code specifically so that you would be able to import your private key. I'm not sure what version of the core client you are using but the issue should be fixed in the latest version. If you are running v3.0.3.1 and you're still unable to import your private keys please let us know so we can look into it. If it means anything here is the virus total report for the file I sent you. My first post on this forum so consider it a compliment for the developers of this coin I am posting in this thread . That being said, Digibyte has huge potential, and I mean HUGE, but potential has to be realised in order to be effective. If Digibyte wants to go mainstream they should contact stores so you can pay with Digibyte with your cellphone like they showed in the movie from the Netherlands. If you can pay easily with your smartphone using Digibyte in stores or online? and if this is going to be promoted only then Digibyte will achieve its potential. There is too much stress on the technical issues and too little stress on the mainstream promotion of this currency. Perhaps it's a good idea if Digibyte creates a video in which it explains in simple steps how you can pay in stores using your smartphone. Also can you also use a QR-scanner to pay online perhaps? this would be much faster and much easier than Paypal, creditcard etc. I'll keep following this project and I hope the team will go mainstream. If necessary they should start an online business where the price of selling products is very low (low profits) but where you can only pay using Digibytes. Just some things to consider. On the other hand it's quality first and then quantity, I just hope this coin will at the end achieve its potential. Welcome to the DigiByte community and thank you for your support and input! We whole heartedly agree it is a priority to get the word out as well as to assemble a much broader group of merchants, users and services. We have been working on several things in the background to help make this a reality that we will be releasing in the near future. Utility & usability are absolutely key here. Once again we are very open to any and all suggestions people may have. Just realized we are only seven pages away from page 1,000. Time has really flown by. Page 1,000 seems to be an appropriate point to start an organized movement to the new forum. However, we definitely want to keep an active discussion on here as this is still our biggest source of new DigiByte users.

I just took position #4 on http://www.richlist.eu/digibyteJared seriously should be more vocal and PR like. If he is focus on programming someone should fill this void. Someone that talks to him regularly that has a knack for public appeal. DGB needs this to progress. Very nice and i'm sure they are in good hands  Jared is working around the clock at this moment on several projects. I am in direct contact with Jared and everything i think is worth mentioning to him i will give him a notice about and place this on the Digibyteforum.com so it won't get lost so easy.As you might have seen i changed my signatures, There has been some talking with Jared about this and he will clarify it soon. I'm trying to do my very best to assist Jared in everything i can and help Digibyte as far as my knowledge goes but my daytime job is taking allot of my time.I have started my own store when i turned 20 years old and i'm running it for about 5 years now,Hard times offcourse in this financial shit we all are in now but things are progressing very well. Most of the projects offcourse are coming from Jared and the Digibyte team and a few from the community members and this really already is awesome to see! So I'm looking over Digihash stats and I could do with some help understanding them. The following is the Scrypt row:

Workers: 22
Shares:126208290
Invalid Shares:1498981
Total Blocks: 2100
Blocks Pending: 2
Confirmed:2036
Orphaned:0
Hashrate: 408.53 MH
To my mind it should be: Confirmed + Orphaned + Pending = Total Blocks
If I'm right (which I'm probably not) then 62 blocks are in limbo somewhere.... Could someone shed some light?
Those blocks were orphaned by the network, they are just not displaying as such. Those stats have never displayed that count correctly and we have never gotten around to fixing that particular part of it. |
