482  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: AVOID ICOs SCAM AND INCOMPETENT BOUNTY MANAGER on: February 20, 2019, 11:21:22 PM
As mentioned by vit05, this type of thread already exists.
I think right now can be more useful, and has not yet been created (at least I have not seen it), a thread with lazy and unprofessional managers.
I bet you dont even go through the link posted by Vit05 because the thread was actually made for Signature managers not ICOs bounties managers and there's different between bounty campaign and signature campaign. However, I created this thread due to people complaining about their investment in ICOs and bounty participation.

Probably all the names that you post are on the list.  If they are not, it is probably because something that they have done in the past. The list that I provide the link is the one suggested by the forum. And has a goal of do not allow spam signature manager. I do not know if there is a campaign manager that do bounty but do not do signature campaigns.
483  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did anyone else get a crapload of Bitmain coupons today? on: February 20, 2019, 11:15:51 PM
I foresee many people beginning to offer coupons for sale in the next few days here in the forum. It would be interesting if most who would not use the coupons offered free to those who intend to use. Preferably high values.
484  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: From crypto exchange to Payoneer? on: February 20, 2019, 11:07:35 PM
It's not just about cryptos-related issues. Payoneer's role is to be a method of invoicing and payment for services. It does not work like Paypal that is for you to buy goods and products.

So they always hamper transactions that look like buying products because they do not have an arbitrage or dispute method between people like PayPal.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to even send from Payoneer to Paypal or Venno. Even more for a cryptos exchange.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats up with Craig Wright? on: February 20, 2019, 06:12:52 AM
Of course he's a lying impostor. And it's strange that so few impostors have come up. But out of curiosity, has he ever commented on some of the choices he, being satoshi, chose to make? It is always interesting to see a liar scrambling to explain choices that he has no idea why they were made.

Why did he choose that name? "Satoshi Nakamoto"

It would be fantastic if instead of numbers, thousands of statistics of this, of that and bla bla bla. People could link to good discussions that are taking place. The forum will only die when its real purpose, which is to have good discussions on matters related to Bitcoin, no longer exists.

How to Generate a signed BTC transaction using Electrum and Trezor

487  Economy / Exchanges / Binance Dex (testnet) on: February 20, 2019, 03:43:30 AM
https://testnet.binance.org/

What’s in Binance Chain and DEX?

With Binance Chain and Binance DEX, our immediate goal is to quickly launch a platform that does one thing very well: exchange assets. “Binance Chain is a very simple chain in terms of application, but it can handle very large loads. It is our opinion that the load is more important than the features,” Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao said about the upcoming blockchain. Once we show that the infrastructure is sound enough to handle many transactions quickly, the additional features will follow.

That said, we agree that Binance Chain and Binance DEX should start with functions that allow for the exchange of assets. Binance DEX will allow you to send and receive Binance Coin (BNB) between different addresses. You can issue new tokens on the blockchain, which you can then send, receive, burn, mint, freeze, or unfreeze. In addition, any participant in the chain can propose the trading pairs they want to see and, with enough support, start trading in that exact pair he proposed. As the DEX grows, more functions will be explored and developed further.

In relation to these functions, we are migrating Binance Coin (BNB) to the Binance Chain, turning it into the blockchain’s native coin to be used for blockchain fees and other transactions. This transition will result in more usage of BNB, now one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the world.

Binance DEX was designed to handle the same amount of transactions that the current Binance platform handles. At its current beta form, Binance DEX can handle trading volumes as huge as the ones we process on the centralized exchange, at a rate of about "a couple of thousand" transactions per second, according to CZ. These capabilities, which are already light years ahead of most DEX options, are made possible by the Binance Chain, which has a one-second block time. By comparison, block times are estimated at 10 minutes for the Bitcoin blockchain and 20 seconds for the Ethereum blockchain. This easily fixes the speed issues that hinder DEX platforms.

On the user experience side, Binance Chain is designed in a way that incorporates the most user-friendly functions on the Binance website. It also provides people with many options to participate in the chain. You can create your own address via the Binance Chain Web Wallet, which has a user interface similar to what is on Binance. From there, wallets that support Binance Chain include Trust Wallet, Binance’s official crypto app, as well as third-party wallets like the Ledger Nano S and many more to come.

Once we establish that all functions are running smoothly, we will grow the DEX accordingly to include support for more wallets, as well as interchain and cross-chain features.

Infrastructure-wise, the testnet of Binance Chain will start with 11 test nodes. We will test various combinations of nodes to optimize performance. While many have asked, the number and selection criteria of mainnet nodes are yet to be decided. At this stage, we simply want to develop a best-in-class DEX as fast as possible. In the long term, the blockchain governance will be community-driven. And the more this community grow, the better equipped we are to realize our vision for greater freedom of money.

Achei bem legal a iniciativa.

http://criptoaqui.com.br/perguntas-frequentes/

I find it a bit distasteful that the signatures point to resources that are designed to feed on misfortune and ultimately result in the misery of the people you send there. The odds are on the house in games of misfortune. Do I give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you have no ulterior motive? Or am I the only one who takes it at face value. "Look at all the great information I have contributed, look at my status on this board, now visit this casino and give it your bitcoin."

Mind you, I'm not discouraging the use of signatures and earning based on them. I, in fact, plan to use one myself, though chose not to send people to games of chance to harvest bitcoin from them.

Good for you.

But not everyone has the same vision as you about casinos. Some people do not think it's just a bad thing. This is a rather skewed view of a business that receives millions of people every day. You should probably have a similar view about drugs and other "sins" that the more liberal world provides.

Not everyone is addicted to what is considered by many to be a sin. And the problem only occurs with those who are addicted to something, less than 1% of the total. I believe that each individual is able to reason on his own about what is beneficial to him or not. Freedom should not be pruned by those who believe they are right about everything and everyone.

492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS and Ethereum might be pumped in China this year on: February 19, 2019, 02:39:53 AM
The EOS and Ethereum pump by, I assume the Chinese investors has begun. However, if you are afraid to buy into them because you think the prices are high, then wait for the correction or take a look at the other similar smart contracts projects. Most of them might also be pumped by Chinese traders.

But almost all projects are pumping today. Probably Bitcoin will test 4200USD again. But EOS and ETH are pumping more then the others so it could have something to do about the chineses that you talk about. Cardano is also pumping.

It is difficult to find good topics and good discussions in the forum. Social Networks seeks to offer something that will grab the user's attention within the first two minutes of their visit.

They do this by using algorithms that expose what the supposed user will most like to see or read. Many people complain, say they prefer chronological order or something close to it. But this works. In Reddit, the function of downvote and upvote serves to offer you what is more popular and that you would probably like to see.

Social networks work by turning your visit into an addiction. And they do this by creating a sense of urgency. You need to comment or share that immediately. Also, in cases like Twitter, when you're an influencer, you're always on some kind of stage. It's not a discussion. This for people who work with their image, whether they are speakers or members of important companies, is much more rewarding than participating in a forum.

The forum is the opposite of all this. It is a place that allows continuous discussions, which can be extended for years, in a single topic. It is a place where the moment is not as important as in a chat room.

But if there is a will to attract more users, it need to be simpler for the person, who does not participate in the forum with some frequency, to be able to find good topics and good discussions. Perhaps an "all" or "popular" section where a list with no more than 30 topics would be organized using some algorithm. Gathering topics from all over the forum. Of course, this could attract spammers to those topics, but that's another problem that also needs to be solved.

Voce ja chegou a usar a cold wallet no qual eles estavam divulgando - a Walltime ?

I suggest doing in batches with date and with drawings that refer to an important fact that has occurred in the forum.
That is, a batch with the date of 2010 could have reference to the topic about the Laszlo pizza. The 2013 coin about HODLING. And so on.

In addition, it could have two types. One of .999 Ag and one of brass. So more people could buy or participate in the raffle.

Visa, Mastercard mull increasing fees for processing transactions: WSJ

Visa Inc and Mastercard Inc, the two biggest U.S. card networks, are preparing to raise certain fees levied on U.S. merchants for processing transactions

They operate as a global duopoly. They operate a large chunk of global trade. They are ubiquitous on internet.  And they decide, without consulting anyone or without any justification, to increase their fee.

a "duopoly" is overstating things a bit. amex actually does higher volume than mastercard (definitely less cardholders though). visa is really in a league of its own.

if visa/mastercard jack up rates at the same time, are there possibly antitrust issues re price fixing?

"Visa cards generated 54.06% of all purchase transactions on general purpose cards worldwide. Debit cards with the Visa brand continued to account for the most purchase transactions with a share of 34.82%, followed by Visa credit cards with 19.23%.

Mastercard debit cards had a 13.30% share, overtaking Mastercard credit cards with a 12.87% share. UnionPay credit cards had a 7.59% share, and UnionPay debit cards had a 7.32% share. American Express had a 2.81% share, followed by JCB cards with 1.15% and Diners Club/Discover cards with 0.91%".

https://www.paymentscardsandmobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Purchase-transactions-on-global-card-networks-2016-1.jpg

UnionPay only works in China. So I think it is possible to say Visa and MasterCard work like a duopoly. I think there is no place in the world that accept credit cards but do not accept Visa or Mastercard.

The biggest card provider is UnionPay, a Chinese financial services firm which accounts for 36 per cent of global card expenditure. It is also the largest international provider of cards, accounting for 44 per cent of cards issued. Visa and Mastercard account for 28 per cent and 16 per cent of global card expenditure respectively.

Mobile payments are also popular in China, with WeChat Pay and Alipay dominating the mobile payment market.

In North America, Latin America and western Europe, Visa has the largest share of card expenditure. In central and eastern Europe, Mastercard is the largest.

People are using more "tap to pay" cards. Bitcoin wallets and mostly cryptocurrencies wallets have this feature almost as a default.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa and Mastercard decided to increase their Fees. And there is nothing y can do on: February 16, 2019, 04:34:19 AM

on the other hand using bitcoin doesn't have that fee. so if they get paid in bitcoin they can offer their goods at a "discount" and that can create incentive for people to make payment in bitcoin hence increasing adoption.

This is undoubtedly a very interesting way of looking at this situation. For the adoption of Bitcoin, it would be much better if it were seen as a cheaper alternative.

A credit card, for a merchant, does not just have only the cost of that Fee. Usually, it takes a long time for him to receive the money. It can be 10 days up to 30 days. So, it would make more sense for some merchant to start making a discount available to Bitcoin users.

This is what centralized organizations will always make if they have the power to do. We need alternative means of payment to reduce that power and Bitcoin has to show itself as an alternative.
