481  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is heading back to $6k on: May 11, 2019, 03:55:48 PM
I'm not sure how much longer this run will last, we may get another dip under 5k as whales look to cash in some quick profits.  I would be very careful buying during this pump, you may get destroyed.
482  Economy / Marketplace / Re: $1 Billion Dollar’s Worth of Cryptocurrency Stolen in 2018 on: May 11, 2019, 03:50:35 PM
Now try to get an estimate about how much fiat was stolen through fraud and just plain theft.  The number will be much higher so this isn't a problem exclusive to cryptocurrency.

As long as you follow basic security common sense you should never be a victim of crypto theft.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange and Hacks on: May 11, 2019, 03:38:54 PM
Most of these hacks are just excuses for the exchange owners to run away with funds.  Its just too easy and tempting for these guys to just take money from their customers.

At least Binance is covering their customer losses so no one will be missing any coins.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats up with Craig Wright? on: May 11, 2019, 03:28:52 PM
One of the worst combinations is someone that is wealthy and is a pyscho.  His money allows him to reach a wide audience and sadly I have seen many people fooled by his act.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What do people think about bounty now? on: May 09, 2019, 03:21:26 PM
I think people should stop joining bounties until developers add consolidated currencies to the payments.
They are literally paying dust to people promote their projects, their currencies worth nothing. If people ask for payments in btc, ltc, eth, xrp, the developers will have to launch only professional projects, otherwise they will be wasting money with advertisement. Actually they launch broken projects because they know it won't hurt on their pockets, as they aren't paying anything worthful to you, promoters.

If you find good projects and get on the ground floor you can become insanely wealthy.  There was also a time when bitcoin was considered worthless so keep that in mind.  Yes most projects will fail but there will still be coins that do 100x in the future.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small blocks, middle blocks or big blocks? on: May 09, 2019, 03:16:49 PM
Its very rare that the blocks are full.  Sure it can happen sometimes when the price surges but that is not common.  In the future we may need more scaling if lightning network doesn't work out as planned.  I'm not against those big block coins entirely and it may be worth holding some.
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on an insect fight? on: May 09, 2019, 03:09:45 PM
Well it will appeal to some guys' inner boy. We don't have ants like that where I live but kids in the 90s used to play spider matches a lot. Depending on the season, June beetles fights were also a thing.

I think betting on these is fine but there must be a system in place to assure bettors that games are not rigged. Also, insects are easier to switch with each other (an have shorter lifespan) than horses, so how would bettors be sure that's the spider or beetle that they often bet on?

I think horse races seem more reliable for bettors but from an operator's view, insect matches are easier to organize since they can just stream the match from a smaller venue.

I was never interested in insects as a boy, found them disgusting.  I guess insects matches are much easier for poor people to set up since horses, dogs, and chickens are expensive and you can't really just go find some in the wild.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: only the price of Bitcoin is increasing? on: May 09, 2019, 02:59:52 PM
Most altcoins have higher inflation rate than bitcoin so btc is more likely to increase in value and it is more trusted.  Ethereum has been doing well the past few weeks.  The real loser is ripple, no one seems to be interested in it anymore.
489  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid for testing bitcoin mixer [banned mixer] and leave an honest review about us on: May 08, 2019, 11:51:02 PM
I'm willing to give this a go. I'll send a pm.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 08, 2019, 10:35:55 PM
I'm not just going to give out valuable knowledge that I had to research myself, if you are willing to put in the time and effort you can find those projects that go 100x-1000x yourself.

If you believe monero will continue to be the dominant privacy coin for years than good luck to you, I hope all of crypto succeeds but I am looking for the highest return on my investment.

I've seen too many top companies that were beaten out by newcomers.  Obviously xmr isn't a company but the point stands.

Once .01 btc price gets broken it is going to look real bad.

please don't take offence to my opinion, I dumped my xmr for btc when the ratio was much higher because I think its the right financial move.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: Time For A New Market Leader ? on: May 08, 2019, 10:29:46 PM
it seems that indeed now Binance Exchange is a candidate for the exchanger leader, more and more people are supporting the exchanger by depositing a number of BTC on the Binance Exchange.

If it gets hacked just one more time then maybe those same people will not be bothered using Binance again. An exchange is only good if people use it, so far Binance does not seem to be affected but in future we will see.

Most customers don't care because their funds aren't affected.  People will continue to use Binance like nothing ever happened.

I don't believe CZ will pull an exit scam, he is already a billionaire what else could he possibly want.  Ultimately 7k bitcoin isn't much for a company that is capable of making billions per year.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 08, 2019, 10:24:47 PM
Its no surprise that people in this thread remain optimistic about monero's future but I share a different sentiment.  Monero is a dying coin.  the hype is dying down, lots of new privacy projects will overtake the marketshare that xmr has managed to capture.  I would sell off for bitcoin if you are still holding any monero.
It would be nice, if any of you would actually name a new better privacy coin. But you never do. And there is a good reason why there always no examples.

Its ignorant to think nothing will ever come and topple Monero.  Maybe if you actually were knowledgeable about new projects you wouldn't be so confident about Monero's dominance.  Don't get wrong its still a solid coin for the next year or so but its not something I want to be in long term.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's time to buy altcoins on: May 08, 2019, 10:21:51 PM
Bitcoin has shown an increase and the other altcoins are starting to move following it too, if they have made an investment in the past months, surely the current month has already made a profit even if only a little

Altcoins are moving very slowly compared to bitcoin right now.  Especially ripple, while bitcoin continues to climb upwards it sits at $.30.  This is very normal during a bear market though.  It looks like the bottom is in and all signs are pointing to a new bull run so this is an excellent opportunity to pick up some cheap altcoins.
494  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How did you get scammed? on: May 08, 2019, 05:28:11 PM
Scammers are every where even on this forum you can meet people. There are clear explanation on scam accusation section about these kind of problem in various thread.
Simply if you use any good and trusted escrow in this forum. Then there is no problem for anyone. This is the simple and best way to avoid scam issues.

Even someone who has been trustworthy in the past can turn into a scammer if the amount is high enough.  I've seen it many times before, most people have their price.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you have now 500$ for invest? Where you invest? on: May 08, 2019, 05:23:02 PM
My thoughts on a few coins

BNB: overvalued and pointless, only popular because of Binance hype and CZ shilling, after the recent hack price will drop

XRP- Lacking compared to btc over this past month,  I dont trust this coin but it may very well pump and do a 10x like before

ltc- utterly pointless, just buy btc instead

eth- solid network with good decentralized gpu miners, has a lot of solid projects on its platform

bch- surprisingly still in the top 5, I don't own any but it does have low transaction fees
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying low fees in Ethereum - Gas Limit, Gas Price and Gwei on: May 08, 2019, 05:12:00 PM
I'm still sending 1 gwei transactions for under a penny in transaction fees.  It usually takes up to a day to complete but I have no issue with waiting.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency: lives or dies? Part 1 on: May 08, 2019, 05:09:48 PM
Bitcoin has been called dead many times in the past but like a phoenix it keeps on rising from the ashes.

The beauty of a decentralized system is that it can't be destroyed.  It expands too far and at this point governments have given in and are trying to regulate it.
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Happy accidents on: May 08, 2019, 05:05:33 PM
The only one that comes to mind that was in my favor is that I accidentally bet 10x the amount I planned on betting but I ended up winning.  I walked away after that.

One mistake that went against me is I mistakenly bet on the wrong team and I ended up losing around $50.  It was my first time using the website.
499  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Withdraw problem on: May 08, 2019, 04:50:51 PM
Trading volume’s still not the best indicator that an exchange is legit because volume is pretty blatantly faked by exchanges nowadays, especially with newer exchanges. Feedback about an exchange from reputable forum members is far better than looking at any list when determining an exchange’s legitimacy. Even though CMC attempts to estimate actual volume the system still isn’t perfect.

Couldn't agree more, I was going to buy an altcoin that supposedly had millions of dollars traded daily but when I actually investigated the real buy orders they were paper thin with no real liquidity.

I stopped using coinmarketcap and moved on to other trackers since they have shown not to be trustworthy.
500  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Capitalism vs. Socialism - Make your argument here. on: May 08, 2019, 04:41:18 PM
In my opinon, most important capitalism's advantage against socialism there is more effective economy. In long term it means that capitalistic countries develop much faster, people have there higher standard of living etc.

High standard of living? You may want to go on youtube and see how homeless people are living in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland.  If you didn't know any better you would think it was some 3rd world country in Africa.

The socialist countries in Europe seem to be doing much better for the lower class.
