1481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2 tips in trading for beginners on: June 30, 2018, 05:01:27 PM
1. Know yourself. Define your risk tolerance carefully. Understand your needs.
To profit in trading, you must make recognize the markets. To recognize the markets, you must first know and recognize yourself. The first step of gaining self-awareness is ensuring that your risk tolerance and capital allocation to crypto and trading are not excessive or lacking. This means that you must carefully study and analyze your own financial goals in engaging crypto trading.

2. Plan your goals. Stick to your plan.
Once you know what you want from trading, you must systematically define a timeframe and a working plan for your trading career. What constitutes failure, what would be defined as success? What is the timeframe for the trial and error process that will inevitably be an important part of your learning? How much time can you devote to trading? Do you aim at financial independence, or merely aim to generate extra income? These and similar questions must be answered before you can gain the clear vision necessary for a persistent and patient approach to trading. Also, having clear goals will make it easier to abandon the endeavor entirely in case that the risks/return analysis precludes a profitable outcome.

Hope this could help some newbies in trading crypto

I wouldn't kid yourself.  There is a reason the "hodl" meme is so popular.  It is a tried and tested sentiment that actually works.  Crypto markets are heavily manipulated and they move like a sporadic rollercoaster.  The only people that should really attempt to day trade are those that own exchanges or have some valuable insider information.  This is just my viewpoint at least, if you are successful more power to ya.
1482  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pirate Bay warning: internet provider forced to hand over names on: June 30, 2018, 04:57:01 PM
I still remember the glorious days of napster and when Lars Ulrich went bananas trying to stop it.  I fear in the future that we will eventually have a one world government.  there will be no where left to go with any freedom.

I do feel bad for the small musicians that get ripped off with illegal downloads.  But for the movie industry its a different story.  Most of the people that pirate those movies never would of bought a ticket in the first place so it's not like they are losing money.
1483  Economy / Economics / Re: So many threads being made but most of them are rubbish. on: June 30, 2018, 12:51:33 PM
I tried to open many threads as i am turning my head away from those non sense post but most of the times i do not have a choice but to discuss also with them. Now i hope that this thread will reach out to those people who are always posting nonsense thread and think of a post that is constructive where we could have an active discussion regarding a topic that is not boring.

At least provide a solution to fix the problem.  Maybe we could restrict newbies from starting threads in certain boards.  I do agree this ia big problem though.  If you tr to make a serious thread with good content it will end up getting lost and sent to one of the back pages.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbetting on: June 30, 2018, 12:48:12 PM
Sport betting and poker are skills games
If you want to be suscesful than you need to analyse data
Night before event and just before event
In football one injury can change everything
In horse racing weather can change everything
It is not easy job in fact if you really want to earn money
I agree with you.  A lot of naysayers like to dismiss all gambling as luck.  That may apply to certain games like slots or roulette. But with poker and sports betting, they are very different.  Theres a reason why skilled poker players can make a profession out of their hobby.  They win more than they lose.  I personally know people who make their living off sports betting.
1485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you use cryptocurrency cards? on: June 30, 2018, 12:43:47 PM
Those crypto cards basically defeats the whole purpose of using cryptocurrency.  The shop ends up getting fiat when you spend crypto.  If we want real mainstream adoption we need to get more sellers to actually accept bitcoin and not just a service that converts bitcoins into usd.
1486  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: June 30, 2018, 12:06:07 PM
Hey there. I have been quite busy as of late and instead of taking up a spot in the campaign I would like to let someone else have the chance to be in it. Hopefully I'll get the chance to rejoin in the future if I become more active. Thanks for the ride!

I would also like to throw my hat into the ring Smiley

1488  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How your portfolio right now? on: June 29, 2018, 01:02:42 PM
I'm down a large amount..........Very large.  Things Could be a lot worse though.  Since I'm BTC/ ETH i'll be fine in the future.  The people that invested in the shitcoins are down massive amounts ( at least 90%).  I do feeld bad for the suckers that bought ripple at $3 and are now holding it under .50 cents.  I'm positive btc/eth will recover but most of these alts are left for dead.
1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way for marketing a new crypto? on: June 29, 2018, 12:55:06 PM
My question is mainly how to do the marketing if you are launching a new crypto currency step by step ?

I'll be brutally honest.  This space is already over crowded with too many coins.  The competition for new projects is extremely high.  Unless you are willing to spend a lot of capital on marketing you will most likely not get anywhere.
1490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In times like this, education is the key to survive. on: June 29, 2018, 12:53:20 PM
The key is to look at the charts of past years.  These boom and bust cycles happen constantly.  If you are going into panic mode from just the last few months you must be a new crypto investor or lack patience.  Bitcoin always goes through major corrections and then rebounds to the next alltime high.  If anyone here thinks it will keep crashing then go ahead and short the market...Good luck with that.
1491  Economy / Economics / Re: The Mysterious Chinese Bitcoin Whale Hoarded 94,000 BTC on: June 29, 2018, 12:51:33 PM
Having almost 100,000 btc for sure makes you a crypto whale.  But in terms of monetary value it's still only around 600 million.  This is still a very small amount compared to the ultra wealthy such as Jeff Bezos.  This amount of bitcoins would be less than 1 percent of his total net worth.  The entire marketcap right now is under 250billion which is still extremely small as well.
1492  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: WSJ editorial: FB and google crypto advertising bans may be anti-competitive on: June 27, 2018, 04:43:12 PM
I'm glad the banned the advertising for crypto ICOs since the vast majority of those were straight up scams or were terrible business ideas.  I've heard rumours that facebook will either create their own coin or end up buying coinbase outright and integrating into facebook.
1493  Economy / Exchanges / Re: GDAX (coinbase) Froze 7-figure amount without explanation on: June 27, 2018, 04:36:13 PM
The reason they are so quick to respond on social media is because they don't want to ruin their reputation to new users.  I would give them a break though, they have had to deal with many regulations this past year.  They also have been overwhelmed with all the new customer sign ups as well.  I believe coinbase is more of a positive than e negative for the crypto world.
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPico throwing down against Roger Ver on: June 27, 2018, 04:27:19 PM
I'm not gtting involved in this childish drama. I'd rather just ignore it.  There is only one bitcoin.  Roger Ver tried his best to sabotage it  with his bitcoin.com website and talking shit about the OG bitcoin all day.
1495  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit System Upgrade on: June 27, 2018, 02:51:46 AM
I'll give this a shot I guess.   My history in bitcoin revolves around casinos/ gambling so I don't know if you consider that a good thing or a bad thing. I mean the dark web and gambling did help bitcoin become what it is today.   I'm a bitcoin supporter but lately a lot of online casinos force me to use eth or ltc sometimes so I'm kind of stuck with that problem.

Yes I do support eth heavily so I don't know if you consider me a traitor.  Right now eth isn't really considered an alt, the 2 main cryptos are btc/ eth.

You are a seriously diseased gambler. LOL

I’ve seen your support of ETH and it does seem to revolve around gambling. Is there any function of ETH that you think cannot be solved by bitcoin? What is making you support ETH?

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Vitalik Buterin. He used to be Mr. Bitcoin back in the day. He wanted to be able to have single handed control and bitcoins open source hierarchy wouldn’t let him do that. He’s definitely a very bright kid and bitcoin would be better off without him as a competitor.

I didn't mean I support eth personally.  What I meant is that by using it myself, I'm actually supporting it.   When I make payments online some people will only take ethereum now. The whole rollback with the Eth Classic situation really turned me off ethereum.  Eth has such a large attack surface, hundreds of millions of dollars have been lost to faulty code.  All of these "ICOs" (99 percent are scams) are on ethereum so it's not like its going away anytime soon.

I think most of these token projects are pointless and it's really diluting the crypto space.  People are putting shit on blockchain that has no reason to be there except for them to make money off the hype.

1497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Better Late than Never? on: June 26, 2018, 01:27:25 PM
this is just a negative viewpoint to have, you could of always gotten in earlier.  Is it stupid to buy amazon stock at 1k usd when you could have gotten it under 10 dollars? No it is not.  The thing is at the low prices the investors were taking on huge risks with an uncertain future so they deserve to be rewarded fairly.
1498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: June 26, 2018, 01:26:14 PM
I'm a bitcoin maximalist but I wouldn't say it has no competition.  Many people in crypto land believe ethereum has a chance at overtaking the marketcap of bitcoin.  Then there is the crowd that believes proof of work is not the way to go and we should be using proof of stake.  Then you can also factor in the high fees that bitcoin usually has while some other coins like nano have zero fees and are instant.  It's really a toss up at this point.
1499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why does Warren Buffett scold bitcoin? on: June 26, 2018, 01:24:26 PM
Warren Buffet stands to lose a lot of money if bitcoin and cryptocurrency succeed.  He is invested in the traditional banking system, credit cards, etc.  I'm not sure why he care so much about destroying bitcoin at his age and with his level of wealth though.  It's not like he needs any more money, It's probably more of an ego thing.
1500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or ETH in 2018 on: June 26, 2018, 01:23:01 PM
I'm not entriely sure whether eth or btc is a better investment at this point.  You can't go wrong with either and they are the only 2 cryptos I would really trust for the long term.  Even Eos which had a lot of hype is very overpriced and centralized so it doesn't look to good for them.
