1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction becomes more popular with young people over time on: October 09, 2018, 04:58:09 PM
I strongly believe that a lot of these new mobile games are heavily influencing kids to gamble.  Their minds get very stimulated when they win virtual items like points, achievements, or gems.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing though, as long we we teach them to gamble responsibly and treat it as a side hobby.
1222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH: is destined to be $2500 by October to December 2018! on: October 06, 2018, 02:11:56 PM
Indeed Ethereum has significant gain recently, after the dump few weeks ago, it leave most of other cryptos behind, but it $2500 way to much, as we know that Bitcoin price will affect other Crypto, includes Ether. Bitcoin needs to be $20k so that Ether price could reach $2500 and I don't see any signal that lead that way. But, other than that, the recent Bullish on Ether make me think that it can reach at least $800 this year.

$800 ether is close to my prediction by the end of this year.  We all know that bitcoin leads the market and whatever direction it goes the altcoins will generally follow.  I think the fools waiting to buy ether for a cheaper price are going to be waiting forever because it already touched the bottom.
1223  Economy / Economics / Re: Which Asian countries have the greatest influence on bitcoin? on: October 06, 2018, 01:56:33 PM
If I am not mistaken at the moment America has a great influence on bitcoin. I read that it ranks first in terms of trade.

Barely any stores in America accept cryptocurrency.  Merchant adoption is a lot higher in China and Japan.
Japan always seems to be ahead of the curve with technological advances.  Just be patient and give it some time, eventually the world will be using some form of cryptocurrency.
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or ETH in 2018 on: October 06, 2018, 01:50:40 PM
You can't go wrong with EThereum or Bitcoin.  They are both solid investments (# 1 and # 2 by marketcap)

I think Ethereum investors will get higher returns over the next year because of the recent dip.  It's much easier for ethereum to 5x back to 1k than it is for bitcoin to 5x to over 30k.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has 54% of the cryptocurrency market on: October 06, 2018, 01:42:46 PM
Bitcoin always seems to gain more dominance when a bear market happens.  I'm sure the altcoins will gain more dominance once the next bull run happens.  New investors will mostly go after the lowercap coins to get a higher return, bitcoin is a solid but boring investment because it can't do another 10x like before.
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does convince people to enjoy gambling is a wrong idea? on: October 06, 2018, 01:34:55 PM
I don't think there is anything wrong with gambling with friends.  Money doesn't matter when we die, its all about what memories and experiences we've had.  Although, you may not want to bring a friend that has an addictive personality into gambling because he will overdo it and ruin his health.
1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETH break its highest record again on: October 05, 2018, 01:39:38 PM
I'm confident Ethereum will eventually reach a new all time high.  All you have to do is be patient.  If you are waiting for the price to drop further that is not a smart thing to do.  You should buy now because the bottom has already been reached.  I think eth will at least do a 4x back to 1k levels within a calendar year.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why not play games online instead of gambling? on: October 05, 2018, 01:30:21 PM
Video games can be fun but without having money on the line the excitement just isn't there.  Most people gamble because of the adrenaline rush that comes with winning large amounts of money.  But I guess you could combine both worlds and bet others on video games or bet on professional e-sport matches.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reason why 98% of sports bettors lose money long term... on: October 05, 2018, 01:22:25 PM
This lambasted the face of all sports tipsters if they would see this thread and no one seems to gain interest with tipsters anymore, But judging with the percentage you got even with many analysis at hand when a said game to bet on there is still a bigger chance that you could lose, I mean that is the way gambling will be but with a 98% of losing rate I really think this idea is not accurate at all it looks like a speculation than an analysis because there is no research involved with it, I still think sports betting has a small risk compared to other gambling platforms.
In fact, I have never followed the predictions of tipsters wherever I wanted or were betting on sports, because after all gambling with owning or using my own predictions would be more special. So until now I have never known what percentage of luck the tipsters have, if they have a high level of luck, then I'm sure many people will recommend it.

People should make their own decisions and not follow the advice of tipsters or sport "gurus".  If these guys had such a sound strategy they could use it to make money themselves, they wouldn't have to sign up subscribers to make money.  If you want to make money in sports betting you have to do your own research and make your own decisions.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the 10th anniversary of Bitcoin on: October 05, 2018, 01:16:52 PM
The whole idea was put together in 2008 but it wasn't mineable until 2009.  I wonder if Satoshi really thought bitcoin would reach the high values we have today or if it was just a side experiment for fun.  I would of been all over bitcoin if I heard about it back in those days but I suppose it's just bad luck.  You would of had to known the right people or come across the newsletter somehow.
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 04, 2018, 01:53:33 PM
Rondo will be a great addition to the Lakers.  He has been one of the most underrated NBA players of the last 10 years. His contribution to the 2008 celtic's championship run often gets overlooked because of the big three.  This guy is a triple double machine and he provides great defense.  His downfall has always been his outside shooting but with his current team, he has others to carry the offensive load.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break from gambling on: October 04, 2018, 01:27:13 PM
No matter what your hobby or job is it's important to clear your mind and give it breaks.  You can really burn yourself out focusing one thing for a long time.  I used to have a heavy video game addiction and it was really affecting my mental and physical health.   Anyways I think gambling is more fun when you don't do it everyday because it will give your dopamine receptors a break.
1233  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price "drop" on: October 04, 2018, 01:19:36 PM
This year bitcon price is stable cause they actually pump but suddenly dropped again but this 4th quarter of the year maybe bitcoin price will have big price change.

I know a lot of people are disappointed about the price drop from 20k but bitcoin has been  doing very well compared to altcoins.  Bitcoin has once again gained the market dominance that it lost during the last bullrun.  If bitcoin crashed 90 percent like how the other altcoins did it would be in real trouble.
1234  Economy / Speculation / Re: what do you think by ending of this year on: October 04, 2018, 01:11:48 PM
We still have a lot of days left for the end of the year.  We know from past charts that bitcoin can rocket up in a short amount of time.  Most of the big price increases were over a really short time frame.  My personal prediction is somewhere between the 13-16k range by the end of 2018
1235  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should we focus this year? on: October 03, 2018, 01:18:17 PM
This is like the "Gluten-free Craze" in the cryptocurrency market everyone knows Blochchain but not everyone knows what it means or even what it does. I think the main idea here is that we should not be part of the people who are in here for the hype as we must understand first what Bitcoin or even Blockchain is and what is causing the hype for them both. Learning and knowing is the things you needed in this young market as we can really get lost if we don't know what we talking about or even what we cryptocurrencies we are investing.

Nothing wrong with gluten-free Smiley

A lot of people came here solely for quick money, they didn't care about the technology and breaking our dependence on the central banking system.  Even prominent companies started to get in on the hype by creating blockchain solutions which were pretty much useless.  There are a few good coins and projects surrounded by junk.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 03, 2018, 12:58:45 PM
The first thing I realized about spurs is that derozan seems like he knows what he is doing and passes to right teammates.

Getting to know your teammates and knowing how they play and what they like and what type of scorers they are is a great knowledge. For example, lamarcus is a guy who needs to ball at first quarter to get hot, if you start giving him the ball at third quarter you are going to have a trouble because he will miss, you gotta give him couple shots early in the game.

Derozan just needs to fix his defense which looked alright today but its preseason. He did not tire himself on defense because he had to give his 100% on offense in toronto but spurs is a system ball so he can try at defense too, which I think will make his defense so much more better.

Team chemistry is extremely important in basketball, some superstars just do not mesh well together.  The superteam of Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and Steve Nash ended up failing miserably because of the clash of playstyles.

The consistency the spurs have been able to achieve is very impressive, They would make the playoffs every year even with mediocre players because of their system and coaching staff.  I think Derozan is a bit overrated but the spurs system can turn any player into a major asset.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the highest lost you have made as gambler? on: October 03, 2018, 12:52:40 PM
One of my friends has just lost $10,000 in football gambling and I have been trying to encourage him.  I will like to find out how much you have lose in gambling and how did you manage the loses. I know many has makes some profits from gambling and some has lost significant amounts of money as this market is a very risky one.

That amount is nothing to sneeze at but I know gamblers that have lost millions.  The gambling industry generates billions in profits each year so that 10k is a drop in the bucket.  I recently watched a youtube video about the biggest gambling losses and the amounts some of these whales lose like it's nothing makes me feel like a complete beginner.

I prefer to focus on my biggest wins instead of my biggest losses Smiley
1238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it still worth mining bitcoin in 2018 ? on: October 03, 2018, 12:47:10 PM
Instead of investing money in mining hardware your better off just buying the coins.  looking back at the profits miners have made, they would have pretty much always been better off just buying the coins instead.

Profits have been rapidly decreasing as difficult is continually rising.  Right now is a tough time to get into mining.  The only positive right now is you may be able to pick up some cheap gear from desperate sellers.
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you aware that some Banks accept Bitcoin? on: October 03, 2018, 12:34:25 PM
I'm really against the idea of bitcoin banks.  Those that own the keys own the coins.  One of the biggest reasons I got into crypto is because you are 100 percent in control of your coins.  Transferring fiat money can be a real headache at times so crypto has an inherent value that can't be matched by government money.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your HODL motivation on: October 02, 2018, 05:19:12 PM
It's much more relaxing to just hold long term and to stop checking prices everyday.  Baring some type of cataclysmic event, Bitcoin will continue to rise as the block rewards are halved.

I know a lot of Bitcoiners like to check prices every five minutes. Smiley  I think long term when I invest, I'm not here to day trade or chase daily pumps.

I firmly believe in the future of bitcoin and cryptocurrency .  I have seen how ludicrous the central banking system is and how corrupt they are.  There will still be some bumps along the road (government regulation, Mt. Gox dumping more coins, FUD by mainstream media)
