1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Really! Where is the fun at? on: July 30, 2018, 06:14:22 PM
Online gambling is a real salvation for a lot of people, who can't play in real life, but want to enjoy the game, such as introverts, or old people, who feel uncomfortable in casinos, being surrounded by much younger audience, people from countries, where gambling is prohibited (but they can risk and play using TOR/VPN), also for people, whose families are against gambling, and there might be also a group of people with poor health, who can't reach real world casinos. You may be right that playing in real life is more interesting, but not everyone can handle it.

For myself, it's much more relaxing to play online.  I've had bad experiences visiting casinos, (filled with smoke, drunk people, rude staff).  I usually just get stressed out going to a casino with all those flashing lights and it makes me uneasy.  Betting online, I'm in a much calmer mood and can enjoy myself a lot more.
1362  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is anticipated to raise $10,000 sooner on: July 30, 2018, 06:02:45 PM
Bitcoin break past the $8,000 mark. Do you think the price of Bitcoin will break the $10,000 mark sooner? Will it be worth it to get more bitcoin at this price?
I think it might take a while because now the price of getting stabilized at the $8000 level and it looks more promising growth so the investors will have much trust to invest on the  bitcoins for now.But many people saying we may see some fireworks in the next month so let's wait and see what is going to happen.

I think btc will stabilize around the 8k level.  Those waiting to buy in cheaper will not get their chance to buy.  It's only a matter of time before the run back to 20k starts again.  It really just depends how much patience you have as an investor.  If you are willing to wait a few years you are at least going to double your money.  Doubling your money in the stock market within a few years is spectacular but in the crypto world it's not that special, we have been spoiled.
1363  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be your wish for BTC ? on: July 30, 2018, 05:48:57 PM
My wish is that one day Bitcoin will be considered the world's currency.  If everything goes to plan, every merchant should accept BTC as a payment method.  The beauty of bitcoin is that there isn't one party that controls the inflation rate like government currency.

We are still a long way from complete adoption but these things don't happen overnight.
1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: July 30, 2018, 05:32:02 PM

Yes, it looks like he lost some of his mentality about the game, specially what has happened to him in New York. Well Grant Hill just injured badly, but he somewhat improved a lot of defence that's why teams are still interested on him. While Carter loves shooting outside and can still put up some points and show flashes of his old self. Anthony though is different, no fire in his eye, no defence, shooting becomes worst.

Grant Hill still proved himself worthy in his Phoenix times with Steve Nash. He can still run with the young players doing a lot of fastbreaks even with the injury that he had.

I guess you are right. There is no more fire in Melo. That kind of game where he could change the flow of it is left in the Denver histories.
After that there were no more explosions from him at New York Knicks. He is lucky that Knicks preserved him there with a good salary.
If I am the Houston Management, I would rather risk it with a young player.

It's rare for a player past the age of 35 to still perform at an elite level.  There are a few examples such as Kareem, Karl Malone, Jordan. etc.  I don't think Carmelo has the work ethic to contribute much to a new team at this point in his career.  Melo was never big on winning, he went to New York for the fame and the money, it wasn't about winning with Anthony.

1366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you experience FOMO? on: July 27, 2018, 01:18:20 PM
Hi everyone,

We all been there and still do it but everyone does things differently Cool. That is when I was in my FOMO mentality I was sleepless and agitated. How did you experience it? So curious to know Grin

FOMO can be extremely heart wrenching.  I've learned my lesson in the past by selling too early and the thoughts still linger with me.  I prefer to sell my stack off in portions so that if the price keeps rising I'm not depressed.  I know its cliche but it's better to just hodl long term because thats the best way to get guaranteed gains.  The crypto market is extremely hard to time and trying to buy the bottom or sell the top will be a game of luck.
1367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quick trading - no KYC etc - recommendations? on: July 27, 2018, 12:57:38 PM
Unfortunately most exchanges now require an extensive KYC process if you are dealing in large amounts.  It's something I've come to accept but I only give out my information to reputable exchanges that I deem trustworthy.
1368  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do crypto asset/account managers need licenses too? on: July 26, 2018, 08:20:14 PM

People who offer to manage funds for other people usually need to have licenses from certain regulatory bodies (well in forex trading they do).
Does this apply for crypto as well?

As far as I know there is nothing really required in terms of licenses or certifications to manage crypto for other people.  If you were handing stocks and other investments it would be completely different.

Crypto is still very young and its still the Wild West with very little regulation or laws.  Governments will start to clamp down harder in the future but for the time being your free to do almost anything.
1369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you still believe in btc price predictions? on: July 26, 2018, 02:09:29 PM
I'm still very confident with my prediction, and I hope bitcoin will be able to actually go at the $ 50000 price for this year.

This is on the high end of my prediction but I'm calling a 40k-50k bitcoin by the end of this year.  Right now will be one of the last times you can get in crypto and still make massive gains.

A lot of people were saying "I wish I bought it under 10k" when it was around 20k, well now they have the chance but they are still quite scared to buy because of the bear market these last few months.
1370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does hard work in gambling count? on: July 26, 2018, 01:55:45 PM
Hard work can pay off in gambling.  Obviously this won't apply to games of chance such as dice or roulette.  But hard work pays off with Sports betting.  It takes a lot of time and knowledge to be able to predict the outcome of sports matches.  You have to know the players, stats, injuries, field advantage, etc.  The information is something you have to stay constantly updated on as well.  Any average Joe can slap down a quick bet but a real pro takes the time to learn everything he can.
1371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is decentralized exchange? on: July 25, 2018, 02:29:44 PM
I'm a big supporter of decentralized exchanges.  They should have good warning notifications for misplaced offers though.  I've seen some fatal mistakes on etherdelta before where people would pay 20 eth for a fraction of a coin because they mixed up the fields for entering price and quantity.
1372  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Why Bitcoin Will Hit New Highs - ETF Date August 10th on: July 25, 2018, 02:10:14 PM
I just realized this from your post, that yes! EOS has been dumping ETHer onto the market, of course that is partially responsible for the price decline. I almost forgot about the ETH collected from one whole year of ICOs. $4 Billion. And that is the price of average ETH gained. Is there any information on how much of their total ETH collected was dumped? I looked but did not see any of this.

Looks like crypto is climbing again. ETF 10 August, maybe some boost. But do not expect bull just immediately. Recovery still in progress.

I believe EOS has already finished selling their eth off.   Ethereum has lost a lot of ground recently vs bitcoin mainly from all the dumping.  Most of the alts are bleeding while bitcoin is again gaining more dominance.

I do think bitcoin will reach new highs by the end of this year.  I'm calling between the 25k-30k range and most alts should reach new highs as well.
1373  Economy / Economics / Re: stupidity is so close to poverty on: July 25, 2018, 01:22:23 PM
Not if you're poor is stupid. This is because of the wrong decisions or the society in which you belong. Like me, I'm just trying to earn a living and get some resources. So I'm here in Crypto Currency and now earns money to support my needs. So today's poor are also in the mood to have a business. The only thing they lack is their support for them to pursue their dreams.

There are a lot of intelligent poor people, but they lack the connections and capital to make anything happen.  If you want to truly be wealthy you need a good network and lots of capital to play with.  It's nearly impossible to become rich from nothing.  There are some rags to riches stories but the chances are slim to none.  I would consider no one to truly be "self-made" because everyone relies on someone in one way or another.
1374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 25, 2018, 12:40:28 PM
I think the champs this year will either be the Warriors or Rockets.  I don't really see any other team being able to compete with their offenses.  This league has become a three point shooting league so that is what it takes to win in this era.  It will be interesting if another Shaq type player comes along and turns the NBA upside down again with dominant inside play.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: July 24, 2018, 02:44:33 PM
The rockets could use Melo for sure.  Since they will most likely be going up against Golden State again in the playoffs they severely needs his offensive game.   Carmelo hasn't been able to lead his past teams to the finals (Nuggets, Knicks) but I think he is better suited as a 2nd or 3rd option type player.  Let Harden/ Paul run the team and just let Carmelo do what he does best.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I am betting on the Mega Millions Lottery – Jackpot over 500$ Million ! on: July 24, 2018, 02:30:32 PM
That is a lot of money and someone would really be lucky if he or she is to win that. If multiple people still win it, it's still a large sum that's going to be divided to the people. Still having to win that would mean a life-changing event. Most of it would be a lifestyle, in my opinion. This post is making me want to buy a lottery ticket  Shocked  Cool

The odds of winning or sharing a Mega Millions jackpot are 258,000,000 to 1.

Lotteries are "pretty much" a waste of money.

They are a waste but you can't win if you don't play.  I don't see the harm in using a few extra bucks per week to have a little fun on the lottery.  Those odds are ridiculously small though and anyone that understands probability would not use a large amount of money.

1377  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: July 24, 2018, 01:17:44 PM
You can invest in less profitable spheres of business, for example, to buy real estate for a long time or under construction, to become an investor in a prospective project with interest distribution  Smiley
I'm not a big fan of real estate anymore.  The market has been over saturated and most of it is overpriced.  We may be seeing another crash in real estate similar to 2008.  It's gotten really bad in San Francisco and Seattle, even people that are working can't afford housing.  Millennials are fighting an uphill battle with the rising housing costs and wages being very stagnant.
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty is like a Box Chocolate on: July 24, 2018, 01:05:37 PM
It's safer to do bounties that pay in bitcoin because you know it will at least be worth something.  Of course you can always go the risky route and get paid in a projects tokens which may be worth a lot more or end up being worth zero.  Seems like a lot of bounties now are complete scams and never pay anything so be careful when choosing.
1379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dominance on: July 24, 2018, 12:46:19 PM
I suggest to be careful now because the ghost month is approaching. I'm happy with the current pump but I cannot set aside the possibility that it is just a bull trap. Always invest with caution. So far, the altcoins are now starting to dump but Bitcoin remains strong and keeps on rising.

I really think this is just a bull trap, this bear market may continue for a very long time like the crash after 2014.

Bitcoin dominance is still very high and will most likely continue that way.  Most altcoins don't serve much of a purpose and bitcoin is really the only coin that has mainstream recognition everywhere.
1380  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's next for bitcoin? on: July 24, 2018, 12:22:47 PM
The next goal for bitcoin is to have more adoption.  Once governments across the world accept bitcoin and btc is accepted in every store it will gane a true adoption.  Right now it's still highly speculative and not many people ar eusing it as a currency.  People are afraid to spend something that may rise a lot in the future.  Over tim ethe price will become more stable and this will be less of an issue.
