4901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An idea I had while washing clothes. on: December 21, 2013, 04:43:02 PM
I was sitting at the Laundrette with some clothes to wash after I had to go to the service station to get enough $1 coins to operate the machines when I realised how much easier it would have been if the washing machines and dryers had qr codes on a screen attached that worked when the right amount of bitcoins were sent to the machines.

So much easier than carrying bulk change around and you could also install a bitcoin atm there to get some bitcoins from. Waiting for confirmations wouldn't even be a problem since you are stuck there for however long it takes to wash your clothes....

...and if the confirmations don't come through, the tracked clothes are sprayed with crude oil, thus needing to be washed again.

Along with the big sign depicting, "All double-spenders WILL be prosecuted to the full extent of the law or, depending on on how we feel, your tracked clothes WILL be sprayed with crude oil. The Management. Thank you for choosing Woopwoop-Wishy-Washy."
4902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Pręt d’Union: Is a Bitcoin hedge option viable? on: December 21, 2013, 04:33:01 PM

PEER-TO-PEER LENDING

The Pręt d’Union is the first website in France to offer online credit between individuals, or peer-to-peer lending. The idea is to return to the origins of the traditional mutual banking model, when savings by one customer were used exclusively to finance loans to another customer without any complex and potentially risky processing operations taking place between the two parties. Pręt d’Union is thus a platform where you can offer money as well as ask for it. The start-up carries out the payments, assesses applications and recovers funds.

Quote
Pręt d’Union earns money on the application fees paid by borrowers, but doesn’t earn anything on the interest charged. The business will break even once it reaches €100 million in loans paid out.

Discuss.

Hey, look what I made. Do with it what you want.  Roll Eyes

Did you really make that, cos it looks kinda cool, or are you BS-ing?  Cheesy

Seriously, I did not make this, just like the OP didn't make his image but, unlike the OP, I CAN make the above with the barn wood I have in stock, sans what's displayed on the shelves.

WTF! Still watching the video, and Michael claims to know of a Bitcoin investment fund that pays out 280% a WEEK. I wonder if it's called Pirate's Unbelievable Financial Fund, or PUFF for short.

Paused, then typed the above, then went back to the video. Guess what? You no like 250%? Me neither! Luckily, there's a 463% Bitcoin investment fund just for us, and it's all explained in his guide. I like this guy!

EDIT again: Guess what? You no like the above two options? Me neither! I'm goin' for the $100 turned into the $4,367 option.

EDIT again: There was a bullet-run. The first 500 people only have to pay $49. Anybody interested in a group buy?
4906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi unmasked? on: December 20, 2013, 08:12:57 AM
shame on them for making that and calling it edisons dollar. Edison stole everything from everyone else including Tesla and had very little scientific knowledge and now this. LOL.

So saad.

In The Very Near Future, This Package
Will Be Sold For $299 (Not Today Though)

This is where I think they fucked up. This package should have been made available via pre-orders only, with a bullet-run of say 1,000, and a delivery date of two weeks or longer.

These guys are so good, they could easily sell out a $10K-to-attend conference to teach wannabe bitcoiners how to use a Bitcoin wallet, even selling them their initial bitcoins at a 10% premium over Mt Gox's rate since they're so difficult to obtain.
4908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi unmasked? on: December 20, 2013, 07:31:21 AM
Watching it now. Too bad it's too infomercialish, let alone what wares they're tyrin' to hawk, otherwise pretty informative. Surprised the view count isn't higher.

Like hope.  Or like something that humans haven't smelled yet.

Sadly, every time I now read the word 'hope' I think of this guy... and so does Dank.

Bitfie, here's my Stiffie (  0.00010000  )

It's worth a towering 5.91 cents, and rising. As you can see, I'm no shrimpie

You've got a lot of balls donating that amount...

That's good to hear. Then why is BitPay asking you for more info?

They are not. They are asking the charity for more info, because their default limit on accepting sales is only $100, while our donation amount is $1,000. I was simply relaying that problem to others here, explaining that BitPay asks donors for more info to bump up the amount they are allowed to receive, and trying to figure out what we can do about it. Considering that it is likely a financial regulatory issue, maybe nothing.

From our end as a donor, all I see is me entering $1,000 into the donation form, hitting Submit, and getting an error page saying the merchant isn't allowed to receive that payment.

Very curious considering your statement of the circumstances. They must somehow consider the transactions which are far greater than $1,000 in total to be somehow connected to you or some invisible government hand is asking BitPay for that information on you. Either way it sounds like you have nothing to fear providing your passport or whatever to them. I think that's an unreasonable demand considering what you are doing. Putting a cap on $ amount of transfers from you seems ridiculous considering you're not even using their service. No?

... Go drink some coffee. I think you may not be fully awake yet  Grin

Oh, I guess you're right. I thought they wanted you to give info. LOL

They'll never arrest a guy donning a pink tutu, albeit they may tazz him just to hear him squeal.  Grin

I had a feeling that the problem was how the charity initially set up BitPay. Probably ticked the wrong box during the initial process, otherwise they would have been approved for the higher amount from the get-go.

Rassah, you may want to keep this aspect in mind for the next time.

Will be vetting the newest entries later, after I unload a truckload of barn wood before the rain hits. I think I need another vacation.

Rassah,

You will need to apply for a higher transaction limit at http://bitpay.com/merchant-compliance. We require some additional information from you that we will need to review. Once we've done that, we'll approve you for a higher limit, which will resolve this issue. Thanks for reaching out.

Sincerely,

I gotta say, this really sucks, considering we're doing $1,000 every time. I wonder if BitPay would object to 10 $100 donations at the same time? (Or if they even support it).

You two have been doing this many cash transactions without FinCEN compliance data on file? You should be happy its taken this long.
