If your in the US/Canada/UK or other westernized countries with crazy securities laws then you should be very careful doing an ICO. Like you said you could end up in jail or fined crazy amounts.

502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Bismuth - Easy Integration, Endless Possibilities, Python, Testnet on: June 29, 2016, 06:06:50 PM
Thanks for registering for the testnet, guys. I will send you the coins when I come home.

I would also like to express that I don't feel like doing an ICO, mainly for the following reasons:
-If shit gets tough, I might end up in jail
-Impossible to proof that I am not a scammer
-Shady history of ICOs on this forum
-People will create many new accounts just to drain the test rewards

The bad thing is that I would have to reward testers from the DEV address, and it would take time to get them fully rewarded
Let me know what you think, I see the poll is quite close

If you really want to do a fair launch then no rewards for testers. Its not like were doing much anyways. No premine, no instamine no bullshit fair launch.

If you want to make some money, which you should, take a small premine for yourself and state that its for you. For making the coin.

Once the coin is launched never change the parameters (total supply, reward, etc.)

503  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe the news ? on: June 29, 2016, 03:03:43 PM
Media in every country is their propaganda machine. That is why you get different and conflicting reports from news outlets in rival countries. Its so obvious I don't understand why people would think news is truth.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ħ [HODL] HOdlers Vote On Whether To Reduce Block Reward by 90% - Nutocracy on: June 28, 2016, 06:58:45 PM

2. Block pools so only solo mining possible - this would cause inconvenience for botnets, they really seem to like pools.
3. Change PoW so only mining from wallet is possible - miners less likely to be dumpers.

Changing this is good idea, I think so. I was miner on hodl and I was mining 24/7 with 2 pc, one with 8 core and one with 12 core. Then I didnīt found blocks anymore, like one block within 5 days, so I stop mining. If we block pools and allow mining only with wallet the real miners who will not sell those Hodls will come back in game, so the network is still secure and runs well and I think there is many Hodlers like me, who stopped mining, when pools and bots came.

If we allow pools and bots, then price is dropping too low and the real miners will not start mining again, so the network will be unsecure and stuck and so on termdeposits never came back and game is over.

Still in game and have term deposit all my hodls.

Me too - term deposit all my HOdl's :-)

Lol guys..

Yeah, block all public pools so only private pools will be available.

Pools,  public or private,  cannot be blocked. Wherever are miners,  are pools,  pools are not the problem,  you earn more coins by hodling and staking than mining

This, if a botnet operator wants to mine hodl they will just come up with their own pool and own miner.

Change nothing, everything is perfect the way it is. Launch was perfect and so far the growth and price is exactly as expected. Actually I expected the price to tank quicker but I guess all the HODLers prevented that. Good job guys!

When the mining completed for that segment I had 1 bismuth sent to my wallet from myself again.

Seems like when your the first person to make an output on the new mining segment you get the reward for the set of 50 blocks.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Bismuth - Easy Integration, Endless Possibilities, Python, Testnet on: June 28, 2016, 06:42:32 PM
Okay I have the new version up and running now.

miner is reporting that reward mined for this segment. Does that mean we need to make outputs/inputs to start mining on the next segment?

yes, we need 50 blocks/transactions before new mining can be done. I have not seen your reward but after I deleted the transaction and had it synced from you, I can now see it (although nodes decide individually about rewards) I will keep an eye on the mining process

So if I send you 10 bismuth 50 times or so we should see the miner kick in again and start mining? I'm gonna try this.

Yup - that worked. after 45 sends miner started again. I think I sent a few beforehand.

Please remove all references to me and Vcash as we do not endorse, support or have any affiliation with this project. Cool

Copyright infringement, Intellectual Property Theft, Illegal use of the Vcash trademark to promote the ICO scam (Bismuth). This matter has been handed off to Vcash attorneys.

You seriously banned me on your forum for endorsing your project, while calling mine a scam and an ICO? After I spent months on development and ideas while you secretly forked Peercoin? Why you must be sucha nut.. And you threatened me with a lawsuit? I even stopped posting there. I used to feel sad, guilty and inproper on your forum, now I just feel that you might be doing amphetamine derivates a little too much.
There goes my investing in VCASH I guess and the promotion and our Twitter love affair

From what I understand he plagiarized code without proper credit. Then he claimed the code was all his own. I think he is the one that's going to face a lawsuit. Anyhow, when I seen what he was doing with his launch of vanillacoin I completely lost trust in that individual.

509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: New Bikercoin (BIC) CryptoNight based crypto currency on: June 28, 2016, 03:58:02 PM
So change the ticker. BIC is a lighter... BIKR is much better.

This is the last time I will respond to a Ticker change

Yes, BIC is a TM and it is also easy to remember and recognize worldwide. BIC was chosen as part or the marketing plan. That's what I do **Marketing** and I'm pretty good at it.

It't freaking impossible to please everyone (BIRK, BKC, BIKE) WTF. I have other thing to do at the moment like creating an exchange platform for BIC/BTC.

So do you all want brainstorm on a ticker or move on to the next level?

I only suggested it to get us on an exchange. And yes your right its impossible to please everyone. Keep moving forward with your plans. If an exchange wants to pick us up then so be it otherwise we will just wait for yours.

I'm going to keep the node and miner running unless you want me to shut them down.

ok, thanks, me too. if we manage to mine something, I will keep sending transactions to enable second mining phase (block 50-100)
mining confirmed broken

Okay shutting down until you have a new version for us to test.

- update:  as those 1 bismuth come into my wallet my fees paid go up by the same amount.

Here is the first testnet release, currently at block 2
You can mine there already, but your node must be running at the same time, because miner uses it once it finds a correct block for reward
I will start my node once you install this version

https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases/tag/0.74

Don't forget to close your node before installing

okay I have it installed. Node is running and so is the miner.

Wow that miner screams!!

I tried finding a block yesterday and it took me 1660 attempts, which was about a minute. Not sure about what the difficulty will be in the end. Nevertheless, sending some testnet Bismuth your way to c12b77c620e0079591609a3dffe61cad3d8b9e2dc1a5cc1534595ddd.

I recieved it. 10,000 bismuth. I can see the from address, want me to send some back? ... I sent some anyway.

Also reporting that block height is 6 now. I don't know if you found them or I found them.. Are the block rewards 1 ?

How will reducing the block reward affect the overall supply of free HOdl?

Much of the supply growth over the next year is locked in and unaffected by mining.
Reducing the block reward will not have s significant effect on current supply but will
slow the growth of TDs which will slow the growth beyond one year.

I don't see a connection between the problem (low current price) and the proposed solution.
It still makes no sense to me conceptually but some numbers may make is clearer. Unfortunately
I don't have the numbers.

I also object to the proposal to change the block reward as a violation of HOdl's specifications. which
include a plan for block reward reductions and a declaration that it is "set in stone".

[stuff snipped]
Subsidy: 50 HODL subsidy per block
Halving: Every 4 years
Mining Supply:Total of 81,962,100 HODL will be mined
Interest Supply: Between 150,000,000 and 500,000,000 HODL will be paid in interest to HODLers

Fixed in Nature

The POW Algorithm considered a technical detail and is subject to change to favor CPU and consumer grade hardware with the intention of keeping mining participatory and distributed.

ALL OTHER PARAMETERS ARE SET IN STONE. There will be no changes to mining subsidies, interest rates, distribution etc.

This alone nullifies any proposal to make changes to the mining subsidy or any future proposals to change the parameters of this coin. Other than the mining algorithm.

Okay I signed up for the testnet.

How to mine?

From my experience in crypto, its never a good thing to change the rules mid way through the game. If you reduce mining rewards then you'll loose all those miners. Hashrate will be low and the coin will be more prone to 51% attacks.

Voting is biased anyways. If HODLers are the only ones capable of voting then they will always vote for proposals that enrich them. Once they dump they are not going to care if they fucked up the coin for everyone else.

I still have hodled funds so I'll be voting against those proposals later today.

VIRUS

OP, this wallet is infected with malware. You're helping spread it to community members. Remove the links for the wallet and change your subject line to reflect this.

Its already being traded on Novaexchage and a pool is running the code as well. For all we know the code could have exploits that will steal other coins. Those places also need to be contacted and informed.

519  Other / Off-topic / Re: How To Handle Long Distance Relationships?? on: June 27, 2016, 01:12:53 PM
I've been with this girl for about 3years now, dating her online; but recently she says shes been numb and doesn't think i'm the one for her, even after all we have been through and the promises we've made. Is there anything I can do to fix this relationship because I love her a lot.

No. She wants to end it and it takes two people working hard to make a relationship work. so... you're done..

If you want more advice then I suggest you stay away from women for a while and hang out with the boys. Go have fun for a while. Relationships are like full time jobs. Consider the next few months vacation.

520  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Best Cereal on: June 24, 2016, 07:05:31 PM
Chocolate lucky charms? eeeew.. I picked the original lucky charms my all time fav. I can go through a family sized box in no time. Helps pack those winter pounds on too. yumm!!!

Anyone notice that the ration of marsh mellows to peasant bits isn't consistent? I had a box once with hardly any marsh mellows. I ate it anyway even if it was full of peasant bits.

I always thought of cereal as dog food for people. They both kinda look the same don't ya think?
