501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to cash out the money from electrum on: November 10, 2023, 09:37:12 PM
Bisq is more suitable to use in this case and not through any social media platforms FB or X as there has turned to a breeding ground for scammers to prey on unfamiliarity and inexperiences of crypto newbies.

Since the trading will be done in cash, it is easy to identify the fraudster, especially since the trading will be in a public place and the trader’s face can be seen before starting to trade or agreeing on a specific formula, and the probability of fraud is much less than with digital services or bank transfers.

I agree..  OP mentioned in other posts that he is living somewhere where crypto trading is prohibited.  Makes sense to do a peer-to-peer trades and deal in cash.  Given how his countrys laws look at crypto, P2P seem smarter if he wants to stay under the radar.
502  Local / Topik Lainnya / Re: Motivasi Pemula @Bitcointalk[Sering Dianggap "Spam Atau Konten AI"] on: November 10, 2023, 08:41:45 PM
ane ga paham kenapa situ make warna-warna gitu, jujur itu ga enak dilihat dan dibaca gan
Biasa gan trik lama.

It seems that you did not understand. He was just pointing out that using different colored fonts can come across as disrespectful to others here.  Try to picture what this place would look like if we all started writing in rainbow text and stuff.  It would be a hot mess!

There are basic rules we all follow on forums like this to keep things orderly.  So maybe think about how your writing makes things look to other people here. Im sure you did not mean anything bad by it but it helps to be mindful.  No hard feelings, just something to consider going forward.

P.S. I apologize for the English language. I was just browsing your post history when I came across this so I thought it would be good to explain.
503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Motivation for Beginners, @Bitcointalk.org Users on: November 10, 2023, 08:06:30 PM
Yes, of course you need to see his contribution to the forum and what he does so that the increase is very fast, what things he did so that it would increase, it would be odd if in the first week he was in the forum but like someone who already knew forum.
I am what I am, as long as I know the information is a span, yes I will say a span, when I know it is a meter I will definitely tell you a meter too.

Hey man, I think you should chill out some.  Folks here have given you solid advice and  if you really wanna be part of this community and contribute in a positive way, you gotta at least consider what they are saying.  Do not just dismiss it or get defensive right off the bat.  It is not good to be stuck in stubborn attitudes and refuse to accept that you can improve.

So, I'm measuring my abilities, bro.

"If you can not measure it, you can not improve it."

I get that hearing criticism is hard.  But try looking at it as people trying to help you grow.  Take a step back and reflect on what theyre saying before reacting.  Being open to change takes guts but it is worth it.  A little humility and willingness to admit faults can go a long way.
504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Motivation for Beginners, @Bitcointalk.org Users on: November 09, 2023, 11:12:57 PM
Can you explain what I mean? Shocked

Can you?

May the goodness of it become a deed, and may you be blessed by the Almighty.
And may you and your family always be granted health and happiness.
Aameen...

Wtf does this mean? You should learn to recognize that not everyone holds the same religious perspective as you, and not everyone shares faith in your concept of an almighty god.
505  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: illegal and humiliating video verification in Rollbit.com on: November 09, 2023, 10:56:11 PM
Rollbit Razer, you are saying these video calls for ID checks are completely voluntary.  But what happens if someone doesnt want to do them? You tell people you will give a refund if they dont comply.  But I bet what you really mean is you will refund their deposit, not any winnings they might have on your site already.  Am I right?

Yeah, thats shady and  you make it sound like no big deal.  But for some folks thats asking a lot.  What if they are worried you will misuse their data? What if they are serious traders and trade hundreds of thousands of dollars or more on crypto exchanges? And you want them to reveal that information to you? Im sorry, but I do not think you have the legal authority to do such a thing.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favourite Alt-Coin, and why? on: November 09, 2023, 10:33:32 PM
OP, as other members have pointed out, you made a new topic about something that is already being talked about in another thread. I get wanting to add your voice, but making a whole new thread can come across as spammy. It is better to join the existing conversation instead. No biggie, just something to keep in mind going forward and  lets lock this one up and head over to the other thread.
507  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 📖 BLOCKXS.COM - CRYPTO WEBSITE DIRECTORY on: November 07, 2023, 09:12:37 PM
Hey there Stakefast! This site seems pretty interesting.  I am definitely going to keep an eye on how it develops going forward.  The one thing I am not totally crazy about though is how all the links initially point to your own tracking url before redirecting me to the actual site and  I get why you set it up like that, but I just dont love it since I cannot see the real url when I hover over the links.  Makes me wonder if there might be another way for you to keep track of clicks that does not hide the true destination url from us.

By the way, I noticed a small mistake: It should be "BOT.SEUNTJIE", not "BOTSETUNJIE".

Anyway, cool idea overall! Ill be curious to see where you take this.
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 07, 2023, 06:29:30 PM
So if you have the money to buy some Bitcoin,  why not buy first and thereafter learn along the way and keep practising the few things that you learn, e.g DCA approach, this approachable helped a lot of newbies to be able to have the right mindset and accumulation approach towards bitcoin, and they can accumulate a good amount within a short space of time, and also building a sustainable knowledge that helps you to have a better understanding of the market and to make good analysis.

I feel as a newbie, what is more important is to have the knowledge of bitcoin before you buy some bitcoin. If you jump into acquiring some bitcoin, you might end up losing it just when you thought you’ve invested your money into a good investment. Learn the basics, know the pros and cons of investing in bitcoin, know what to disclose and not to disclose to the public when you’re asked about your investment. Without a basic foundation of learning, all your work will become futile if you lose your bitcoin for being ignorant.

When it comes to investing your hard-earned money, it pays to do your homework first.  Doesnt matter if you are looking at Bitcoin or stocks or whatever else - you gotta educate yourself before jumping in.  Rushing into things without understanding what you are getting into is how folks end up losing their shirts when the markets turn.

My advice? Dont be in a hurry.  Do your research and really understand where your money is going.  Once you got that down, then you can start putting your cash to work.  Slow and steady wins the race here.  Go into any investment informed and with eyes wide open.  Take that approach and youll avoid nasty surprises down the road.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is LocalMonero a mixer/tumbler for XMR coins? on: November 06, 2023, 09:49:53 PM
First question: Can someone trace the 0.5 XMR back to my Monero GUI Wallet?

Unlike Bitcoin, Monero keeps things private.  When you look at the Monero blockchain, the details of each transaction are hidden from view.  You cannot see the amount of coins being sent or the addresses for the wallets doing the sending.  This helps keep Monero users anonymous.

But it is not perfect anonymity.  The transaction fees and timestamps are still visible and  so if you withdraw Monero from an exchange, they can match up that withdrawal with a transaction on the blockchain using the timing and fees as clues.  They cannot follow the money after that initial transaction though, unless you transfer the coins to another centralized exchange. So Monero offers more privacy than other cryptocurrencies, but moving coins between your own wallets is better than going through exchanges if you want to stay totally anonymous.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I’ve bought 100 BTC in 2011. Need help to find them for rewards. on: November 06, 2023, 08:13:59 PM
~
Of course, I also don't really believe that it will be possible to find these bitcoins, but just in case, I decided to ask for help from the community.

So, does your buddy even have any real evidence this 100 BTC thing is for real? Or could he just be messing with you? That is something to think about.

And even if it did happen, would it really show up on the blockchain? I kinda doubt it.  Cause if he bought the bitcoin on some exchange site, that transactions just happen internally in the exchange's system. The blockchain is only gonna record when he deposited bitcoin in or withdrew the bitcoin out  so trying to dig up some old 100 bitcoin buy is probably a dead end.

Id tell him to show you some real proof first before you go on some wild goose chase.
511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I’ve bought 100 BTC in 2011. Need help to find them for rewards. on: November 05, 2023, 07:57:08 PM
In 2011 I’ve bought 100+ BTC on some cryptocurrency stock exchange and now I can not remember what was the site exactly.

Are you absolutely sure that it was a real event and not just a dream? You lack any tangible evidence, so maybe it was all just a figment of your imagination?   Grin

512  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Fake Leger Live app. on: November 05, 2023, 07:11:21 PM

UPD. Found an article that says "The app was being used to steal people's Bitcoin by asking users to enter in their 12-24 word recovery phrase into the app."

Ok, if that is true, it means the scammer played the human stupidity card. Not surprising.

Sometimes I wonder why people buy hardware wallets in the first place…  Huh
513  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can this be possible? on: November 05, 2023, 06:51:09 PM
~
so can the chat be possible?

This screenshot looks like a doodle to me, like someone was just scribbling on a price chart.  Though I guess it could be some kinda daylight savings time glitch, as another comment said.  That seems possible too.

Anyway, no way this is evidence of time travelers.  They wouldnt be so dumb to leave obvious clues that could mess up space-time continuum and  that could like destroy the whole universe even.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FTX CEO Sam Bankman Fried found guilty on: November 04, 2023, 09:42:08 PM
It is a bitter victory, because in reality the damage was enormous, the cryptographic niche suffered a severe blow with this case. I don't think this is an end to this type of scams and/or crooks, but at least it is setting a good precedent, guilty.

This is certainly a high-profile case, mainly because of the large number of affected customers and the substantial amount of embezzled money. However, it is not exactly unique, and it can hardly be called a precedent. Stuff like this has happened before and will probably happen again.  It is not that new or unique really.
515  Other / Meta / Re: A small merit-sending UI tweak on: November 04, 2023, 08:15:50 PM
I also prefer Approach C. Just a placeholder text, similar to how it is now, but more error-proof.

hahaha I can understand and to be fair these are things preventing theymos from upgrading the forum or switching to Epochtalk smoothly. I think current SMF version has been changed a lot that scares even theymos to touch it. For rexample trust system would be another story.

I thought EpochTalk was meant to be a completely original platform, not just a fork of some existing open-source solution. So, these features should have been part of its core design from the start, right?

I believe it would be necessary to create and pin a thread in the beginners and help section about sending merits to assist newbies in using the merit function

You are not serious are you?
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what if bitcoin becomes inferior on: November 04, 2023, 07:49:58 PM

What if someone with as much genius and passion as Satoshi is creating a system better than Bitcoin?

WTF, OP? I get you are excited about this topic and want to discuss it, but making multiple posts about the same thing is a bit much.  We like fresh ideas here, not reruns.  Dont you know how to use the forum? Its like you are stuck in a loop, repeating the same thing over and over.  Cheesy

What if the second Satoshi appears?
517  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What do you think about the decrease of Bitcoin price yesterday on: November 04, 2023, 07:30:29 PM
What decrease in price? I did not even notice. However, what I have noticed is an increase in the price of almost 30% in the last ten days or so. Welcome to the world of crypto, OP!
518  Other / Meta / Re: I raise a motion to create a board where health issues can be discussed. on: November 03, 2023, 09:29:53 PM
~
Can you imagine our forum p.h.D coming to such a board talking about biolabs and why Bitcoin is bad because it doesn't help to advance science bs? 😉

Good point.  Now that you mention it, I can see the benefits of having a separate section of the forum for discussing mental health challenges some folks here seem to be facing and  weve definitely got some characters who may need professional help - like our friend P.h.D.! But if we did add a board like that, theymos would probably need to bring on a couple of therapists instead of moderators.   Cheesy
519  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betfury will not pay the promised bounty for bugs found on: November 03, 2023, 08:25:34 PM
OP, did their bug bounty department get back to you after they asked for more details and the exact steps used to recreate the bug? Just because they havent hit you back yet doesnt automatically mean they will reject paying you for finding the bug.  They might still be reviewing your bug report. Id give them a bit more time before assuming they are gonna deny your bounty claim.  But definitely follow up if its been more than a few days with no response and dont let them ignore you if you put in the work to find a legit bug!
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Derivation Path on electrum on: November 03, 2023, 07:46:51 PM
Restoring your Electrum wallet on a different machine is easy. Just go with the "I already have a seed" option. In the next step, you will be able to choose the seed type: Electrum, BIP39, or SLIP39. If you stick with the default, Electrum will assume you are importing an Electrum seed.  You do not need to choose the derivation path.
