501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 22, 2023, 12:58:23 AM
After watching Wemby against Warriors, I have to say if that guy doesn't get injured a lot like many expect him to, then he could be one of the best players that ever played this game.

I am not even joking, I am talking about Jordan and Lebron levels, that dude is capable of doing anything and he is like 10 feet tall at the same time. He is capable of dribbling like a point guard, he is capable of shooting like a scorer, he is capable of rebounding like rodman, and he is capable of blocking like Ben Wallece, that dude is capable of doing everything and he is quite fast for his height and it's nearly impossible to stop him when he gets close and other players literally run away from the basket when they see him under the rim. Dude has the highest ceiling potential I have ever seen, all depends on his injury situation.
A generational player, an alien, a player that we've never seen before in NBA. These are the phrases that are being used to describe him, and TBH, it's kind of true.

NBA has been there for a very long time, and yet we didn't see any player who is a good defender in the paint, a good three point shooter, with handles, and can pass the ball. Maybe the closest that we've seen that has similarities with Wemby is Jokic, but Jokic isn't that good inside defender while as for Wemby, he's a good inside, and perimeter defender as well. Other teams will be having a hard time shooting inside the paint while he's there. The kiddo is hyped, and he's living of to that hype... at least in the pre-season.

If he continues to play like that, he can be an all-star in his rookie season, and it's the first time we're seeing it since Blake Griffin in 2011. Nevertheless, I just wish the good season for him, and as to the Spurs being a playoff contender, I don't think so because the team is loaded with young, and inexperienced players still, but they're in good hands since we know who their coach is. I just hope that he will not get injured though because we know that players who has a height like that are kind of more prone to injuries.

LeBron was right when he referred to him as an "alien." I initially thought Wemby was just for the hype, but this lanky guy is proving us wrong with his impressive preseason performance, playing at an MVP-level. He can undoubtedly perform on different areas of the court, the way he selects his shots demonstrates a high basketball IQ. It's not just on offense; his defensive mindset is commendable too. He can chase down players, something other big men struggle with due to their speed limitations. However, Wemby, with his athleticism and long arms, can disrupt his opponent's shot selection.

In the game against the Warriors, it was amusing to see Wiggins guarding Wemby. Wiggins is known for his defensive skills, but he didn't match up well with Wemby and he look like a little boy against a giant. The Spurs emerged victorious in that battle. However, I also noticed a weakness in Wemby - he seemed to run out of energy. This could be a factor he needs to work on, especially when facing teams like the Warriors who play at a high pace. If he can't keep up with the game's tempo, it might force the Spurs to bench Wemby which is not what we want to see.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 22, 2023, 12:00:21 AM
On this forum, I believe many of us would gladly sacrifice our privacy to snag that $70k prize mentioned in the original post. It's a no-brainer; we're all in this for the big bucks, and it's already right within our reach. The only thing standing between us and claiming the rewards is complying with the KYC requirements. Who in their right mind would say no? That would be utterly crazy. Of course, we'd go the extra mile to secure that massive prize, even if the gambling site demands KYC documents from our entire family. I'm confident there are still gamblers who won't think twice about whether it's reasonable; they'd simply comply and follow every request to clinch that massive win.

Gosh, $70k is a substantial sum. I don't want to come across as insincere, but opportunities like this don't come knocking every day. I might even consider retiring from my job once I get my hands on that money; it's truly a life-changing event. Although there's a risk associated with submitting KYC documents, with that kind of reward on the line, I wouldn't hesitate to do exactly as they ask.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 20, 2023, 11:56:33 AM
Have seen a lot of threads talking about the bull market, and everyone making comments.
I don't think selling all bitcoin in the bull market is a good idea. Why? Knowing the fact that the next bull price will still come as bitcoin continues to grow, so I don't think selling all my bitcoin in the bull market is the best.
Everyone is holdle bitcoin in the bear market and planning to sell in the bull market, now, when finally, the bull market  comes should I sell all my bitcoins and prepare to accumulate from afresh in the next bear market again? or should I keep some percentage to continue the accumulation?

It solely depends on what your reason for investing in bitcoin is. Let's say you buy to sell it off at bull season, you can sell off and make some gains which is actually your target reason for buying it but if you are buying for store of value then you have no business selling it at all. Whether bull or bear, until your said time of giving away the value. That's just my take on it though.
Whatever the reason that we have whether we are selling or not during the bull season was not a problem. The most important is that we are selling for a profit, not losses. I admit that I was planning to sell my Bitcoin when the price went high again and I can't even wait for the ATH. Perhaps, it is an individual decision, we can do whatever we want. Holding for many years seems not even a good idea for me and why? That is because I think that I already miss the opportunity.
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2023, 07:19:34 AM
^ I guess Poole just want to proved a point here, and for sure he could be one of the cornerstone for the Wizards this season. That's why I wanted to see them goes to Chase Center, it will be fun seeing him against his former team mates specially his play is somewhat similar to the mold of Steph and Klay Thompson. For the GSW vs Kings game, the atmosphere was really like playoff games and it seems that there is a brewing competition between the two. Steph again, proving why he is the best shooter in the league with that clutch from the outside. And most likely we will see more of CP3 + Steph and how this two veterans are going to blend specially down the stretch of the game. CP3's jumpshot is still there for him.

Jordan Poole will surely be ranking up points at Washington Wizards however, Wizards will an all round play from him, not just the point scoring, he'd need to be more of a facilitator too and be their first defensive player, the last two aspects are literally Poole's weakness. Wizards looks like the right place for him to grow and become a better player while being allowed to make more mistakes than he could afford to make at Golden State Warriors before the pressure gets to him and the media starts coming for his head with the apparent "Steph Curry's heir" conversation.

There's one thing sure for Poole this season – he'll likely make it to the All-Star game, and that will probably make him happy. Finally, he isn't living in the shadow of a superstar. With Beal already out, he has the chance to shine. This is what he wants, and let's see if he can lead this team to the playoffs. If he succeeds, there's no doubt a max contract will be waiting for him.

I mean I'm not against you, but if that's your basis alone then remember how he performed against the Lakers last playoffs.

I'm against you on this one, Poole never played with the Lakers, he was a Golden State Warrior player got traded to Wizards.  Smiley

Edit too : my bad pardon me, I was reading too fast that I didn't comprehend it well. Sorry about that, but here's my response;

Why are you looking for Basis? I can't provide you any of that because it was just one game, a preseason game at that. Maybe I got a bit too excited about his performance, but I genuinely have a feeling that he'll make it to the All-Star team. He's in a team where he's the Alpha player, and we all know that Poole can drop 30 points anytime. With more freedom, he could easily become a candidate for the scoring champ competition this season.

We also know that he struggled with the Warriors due to conflict, and let us not forget his contribution on the Warriors championship run before last season's failure.

506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can change lives on: October 19, 2023, 09:22:08 PM
Realistically, if we go back to when Bitcoin was worth $1, we can't assume it will become $50 because we've seen sellers benefit from the Bitcoin they purchased for less than $1. This is still true today; we cannot predict that Bitcoin will hit $200k because even $30k is difficult to breach. Many folks who lost out on that opportunity can now take advantage of it. Because Bitcoin is still inexpensive, now is the perfect moment to purchase it. Trust Bitcoin if you want to transform your life by investing in it.
Investing in Bitcoin is just a matter of believing it. It is definitely the price won't move if the people don't believe and trust this project as well. Fortunately, it got huge demand because many appreciate this project due to its usefulness and the benefits that we get.
And this gives interest to the community believing that investing in Bitcoin will change their lives because they witness some people having it. We can't really imagine its massive growth which is enough to think that Bitcoin is a great investment that can change ones life.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 12:03:50 PM
This lineup looks promising, but they are still a young team. The average age for this lineup is 22 years old. If they can develop a winning mentality like experienced players, I think they could be quite formidable. However, preseason performance doesn't always translate directly to regular-season success.

Wembanyama is probably the heart of this team, and it's undeniable that he's gained a lot of popularity and hype. Let's see what he can contribute to the team. If he can help the Spurs become a playoff team, that would be a good success to start with.

What do you think of this Spurs' line up?
- Wembanyama (7-4) C/F 19yrs
- Jeremy Sochan (6-8) F 20yrs
- Zach Collins (6-11) C/F 25yrs
- Devin Vassell (6-5) F/G 23yrs
- Keldon Johnson (6-5) F/G 24yrs

That looks like a scary team to be honest and they will most likely be coach Pop's regulars this upcoming season. They could even finish top of the Southwest division. I wonder how they would fare if they have a crafty veteran like Manu to lead them or a PG with CP3's caliber.

[...]
Chris Paul too, with his medium jump shot is still very effective and beautiful to watch.
You mean mid-range jumper? It's just weird to call it "medium".

Yeah, his mid-range jumper is lethal, and he's clutch as well. He and Curry had some great moments in their game against the Kings during that comeback win. I can already say that CP3 fits well with the Warriors, or at the very least, he makes the team better whenever he's on the court.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 19, 2023, 11:22:15 AM
JB is likely to be out for 2 years and his team is unlikely to contest the dope result. It's because that his contract with PBA is also affected by that result.

They can certainly try to contest it, but can they win? I mean, it's the event organizer who found Brownlee to be using a prohibited substance. I don't think Ginebra has a strong reason to contest this unless they can somehow question the testing process. If they were to win, it could damage China's reputation as the host of the event, which I believe is unlikely to happen. For now, I think we just have to accept what has happened. Brownlee should rest and await the final result and any potential sanctions.
509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach all-time-high before halving. - BitQuant on: October 18, 2023, 09:47:03 PM
I do not see much changing any time soon regarding the price of Bitcoin until we enter next year. Bitcoin need big news to make serious moves and so far there is no big news we are expecting that will cause this move. Even the war in Gaza does not seem like something that will make huge waves in Bitcoin.
There has been no major increase so far because there is no big news that could affect the price of Bitcoin, of course it still makes sense why the price of Bitcoin is still stuck at a price range below $30K. Because big news will not appear by itself if there is no incident that shocks many people into buying enthusiasm and war is a very bad thing for economic continuity and also for the crypto space because it can cause a lot of panic among big investors.
The news is somewhat of a manipulating factor for someone to decide when to buy and when to sell. Well, the price of Bitcoin seems not going to recover fast but better haven't yet heard big news as we still have given the chance to accumulate more, especially for newcomers. However, as we talk about halving, based on my experience the price of Bitcoin had pumped after. There are also price rises before halving but it was not the same after halving. Of course, we can't expect that we still have the same trend this coming halving but also, I don't think it is the opposite scenario compared to past 2 halvings.
510  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Trading on: October 18, 2023, 09:27:55 PM
The only thing that I can say is to Stop Trading if it never works for you. We can't simply assume that if some people become successful in trading, we can also be successful as well because we are not the same - our thinking and decision making is pretty different whether we like it or not. That is why even we use his strategies and ask his advice but when doing it alone, the results are truly different and that is because we differ in making decisions, especially in a crucial time.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If not for Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 09:30:12 PM
Which is why apart from being a day trader, I also make sure that I have sufficient bitcoin holdings to keep me safe during rainy seasons. It's bad enough that the market can just go under whenever it so pleases, so having a consistent and surefire earning asset like bitcoin in your portfolio takes the stress off of you cause now, you're pretty much aware and at ease knowing that come rain or shine, you'll earn money from bitcoin. I'm just hoping it continues to serve people for longer cause I want everyone in the crypto industry from now until say, 20 years in the future to at least experience what it was like getting bitcoins for the first time and expecting to earn shitloads of money. It's one of the greatest feelings out there.
This is because Bitcoin is the only reliable project in the crypto market. We can't compare its potential to others that is why we call this unique which makes it very popular and famous. Indeed, it was stress-free if were going to manage well our emotions.
Those things that happened in the past as mentioned by OP give us insights that only those projects that have a solid foundation will remain while these worthless and weak foundations will collapse. Probably, if there is no Bitcoin, the entire crypto market has already been over.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 17, 2023, 08:59:12 PM
Today, my narrative takes an exhilarating turn with the introduction of the $Opium meme token. This latest addition to my crypto portfolio radiates innovation and promises to inject fresh life into the meme coin universe. Just as with $PEPE, $CAL, and $SAFERUM, $Opium is not merely a senseless creation; it realize the spirit of a movement, a community-driven endeavor with untapped potential.

Now, I'm on a new adventure with the $Opium meme token. It's the latest coin I added to my crypto collection, and it's looking like it could be the next big thing in the world of meme coins. Just like with $PEPE, $CAL, and $SAFERUM, I see potential in $Opium that goes beyond just being a joke.

Meme tokens started as funny internet stuff, but they are turning into serious business with real communities behind them. $Opium, with its cool idea and excited supporters, seems like it's going to be a standout meme token. It's more than just a joke; it's a movement.
Then, you must be careful about your chosen coins otherwise, you regret it later. Meme coins have been known because of their hype, not by their use case. We can't deny that many people got a profit from them during the hype but countless no-how investors suffered losses as well. And that is because these meme coins can't be considered long-term investments, they are just profitable during their hype but once it is done, we never expect them to rise and their existence seems over.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 17, 2023, 12:39:17 PM

Talking about myself, I can easily say that I generally gamble for fun but if I lose money quickly even though it is for fun I take a break for a few days and sometimes a few weeks.

That's a long break, and it must have had an impact on you. It can stop being fun when you're experiencing losses. Personally, when I say "fun," I mean enjoying something regularly, but losing large amounts in gambling is not enjoyable. Sometimes, I tend to be unrealistic because I only focus on the happy moments in gambling, and during times of losses, it feels like I'm not winning at all.

I've come to realize that keeping a record of my gambling activity is essential if I want to keep track of my status, but it can take away from the fun aspect because it makes me feel like I'm taking gambling too seriously, almost like considering it a way to earn a living.

The best way to have fun is not to worry about budgeting, simply enjoy gambling, and if you win, go ahead and spend it all, then repeat the process.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2023, 11:53:09 AM
Tyler Herro seems to have improved a lot from what I'm seeing in the preseason so maybe he could be that consistent back up for Jimmy. I can see shades of Wade in him to be honest.

....

This may not be of interest besides the name but Scottie Pippen Jr. has been waived by the Lakers. He wasn't able to make most of the opportunity given to him and I think the preseason game against the Bucks had a big role in the management's decision since he played quite poorly.
I think he has the potential to be a star in the league, unfortunately, he got injured in the playoff, causing him to missed some games. And he could be a very important factor last season in the finals if he is healthy.

But now that he is back, obviously he wants to continue what he has left behind. Although his name pop up in the trading block for a potential Dame Lillard joining Heat early, it didn't push through. So time for him to proved himself once again that he is indeed can compliment Butler specially in the offensive load since some of the players from last year has departed already.

They'll have to try again, and the Heat is still a championship contender despite their poor performance against the Nuggets. Actually, the two times they went to the finals, they lost easily, meaning they weren't competitive enough. Something is really lacking with this team, which is why they pursued Lillard, but it didn't work out as he went to another team.

I'm not sure if the Heat can still make it, but if they do, the finals might be boring again?

I know Herro will play harder and prove himself more, especially as he was already on the trading block, which means they need someone better than him. So this whole season is about proving his worth to the team. If they can win a championship, I think there will be no more changes made.
515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on your own vs social trading and copy trading on: October 16, 2023, 09:48:58 PM
Trading on your own will teach you a lot. The same goes with social and copy trading but you know that these won't do much to you to improve.
You'll get some ideas from them but you are on your own on this market. A lot can be learned from others but those strategies are like relying to other traders.
I think that even copy trading has been there for a long time, it's gonna be like a hype and trending strategy especially for the new ones.
Well, I'd say a lot of people had used copy trading during their early days in trading and while they were still getting ideas. I could say that it was a good way of learning but this will never bring us to gain success in life if we keep relying on this strategy. Instead, we have to walk on our fit and make a market discovery. We can learn more things by doing it alone which is very useful as we continue our journey that can't be learned if we just rely on others. In fact, before this copy trading existed, we already had successful traders which means that we can be like them without depending on others.
516  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 16, 2023, 09:25:00 PM
I see the price trend has changed and it moves gradually high compared to last month. Not totally I'll be saying that this will be an indication that we are getting bullish because anytime corrections may come again. We all are hoping for a price increase but honestly, the global economic growth is affecting the demand for Bitcoin which is why we can't think that it rise like a bullet train. However, this month of October still be considered an ideal time for buying as we still have time left to catch up before it finally surpasses $30k.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 16, 2023, 11:08:33 AM

All they need to do is stay healthy. I would say they are already packed with superstars, so there's no reason they'll fail in the playoffs or have an early exit. This team, with Lillard now, is already a championship contender, probably the best in the East. They could even beat the Celtics, who I still consider one of the best.

Lillard may have a similar role with the Bucks, playing the point guard position, but it's very different here. His teammates are dominant in the paint and excel in defense compared to the Blazers, whose weakness was defense. That's one of the reasons why they sometimes exited the playoffs early, even during the time of CJ and Dame, who were one of the best backcourt duos. But now, it's not just one superstar playing with Dame; there's more than one, and I would consider Middleton a superstar too, given the massive contract he earned with the team.

Yup, Dame got more backup or better to say companion on his chase for winning a title, if competitiveness will develop among them and
a good brotherhood blends up. This squad is surely going back to the playoff, then maybe winning a title.

More on how they will adjust and sacrifice their individuality to fit on each other, I would say if Giannis and Dame will play with the same
companionship of Steph and KD way back with the Warriors, then we will see them dominate first in the east, then for the world title.

Too early though, but doable if good blend and chemistry will develop trust from each other's back.

It could happen, but in comparison to Steph and KD, I believe Lillard and Giannis are one step below, but that's just my personal opinion. These two are probably still in their prime, with Giannis having already proven himself when he won his first championship, while Lillard still has a lot to prove, despite being seen as one of the popular superstars in the NBA now.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 15, 2023, 05:45:28 AM
Yes, and Tapales already gave a warning to Inoue already, ‘I’ll be your biggest nightmare’.

Tapales is trying to be like Casimero. The guy has some confidence to say to Inoue that he is his biggest nightmare. He can say anything he wants, but I'm hoping he'll back it up with his performance. I don't want to see a boxer who's no different from Inoue's past opponents, who were afraid to engage and fought just to survive.

Quote
So let's see what's next for Casimero and how his Japanese promoter will do to his career because it's not really moving forward in the super bantamweight division.

The outcome of the fight doesn't benefit him. It ended in a DRAW, but it's not just the outcome that concerns us; it's how he handled the fight and how he appeared to gas out early. It's not a good sign for him, and I think Inoue could decline his challenge, saying he's not on his level.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play equal to deposited funds before you can withdraw on: October 15, 2023, 05:10:45 AM
If you're not a regular gambler, you might be surprised by this, but many gambling sites do indeed implement such a rule. Having a 1x wagering requirement on your initial deposit can seem reasonable. Once you've deposited your money, your primary intention is typically to engage in gambling activities. From a gambler's perspective, it can be seen as fair. It ensures that once you deposit, you're fully aware that you're entering a situation where you're ready to take risks with your money.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 13, 2023, 11:12:16 AM

I also admit that trading is not for newbies as it will cause them more losses than profits. But I think there is nothing wrong with what OP said, I think instead we should not say that they should stay away from trading. Why don't we tell them to start with the minimum amount to avoid big losses. Because no matter how long you have been in the market or how much knowledge you have, without trading experience you will always be new to trading. Only when we participate in trading and gain experience from it can we become a professional trader. Everyone has a beginning and no one can become a professional trader with a lot of knowledge but no practical experience.
If we keep insisting that trading is not for newbies, then we can never expect anyone to become a trader anymore. But it was wrong and besides, all trader has been a newbie before and have less trading knowledge but I believe that learning can't be instant as we can't take all the things we need to know if we just keep on reading and watching videos. But what it gives us more knowledge is to do it in actual. We were once a newbie before we became pro traders, so the claim is wrong. But if we say that trading is not for everyone, that seems right.
