5081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is the future of crowdfunding? on: August 07, 2020, 01:18:33 PM
It is a 2018 topic when ICO or you can call crowdfunding was trending and people were investing on any project that they thought would be a success.

Come 2020 most of these projects failed to deliver promised products or were just scams. In 2020 it is very hard now to go into the market and raise funds through crowdfunding. ICO and then IEO are not generating any funds for startups unless the product is unique and is already working.

I did some research on Google and found few universities that are offering nontechnical courses in Blockchain tech and crypto. You can read more about those courses here.

Out of the list, I found that M.Sc in Digital Currency from the University of Nicosia is highly recommended, it is an online course and you can find out more details about it here

5083  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Telegram channel for tracking the instant price of BTC on: August 07, 2020, 12:54:05 PM
Thanks for the information but, why will I need to go to a telegram channel in order to check the Bitcoin price from Binance?

I only need to download Binance mobile app login once and that's it. Now on one click I can check not only Bitcoin price but all other major cryptocurrencies live in just one click.

Very much possible scenario.
I think ICC might give up their fantasy of spreading the test cricket in a longer run, let's say next 2 decades.
Even if they might not be successful in spreading Test cricket but i don't think anyone would get rid of The Ashes which is the most watched and entertaining series in cricket, Border–Gavaskar is another high profile series between Australia and India and so is Gandhi Mandela series between South Africa and India and Trans-Tasman series between Australia and New Zealand is always competitive and their rivalry are like India and Pakistan.
"By spreading Test Cricket" i meant adding new countries in Test playing nation list. The Ashes and Border-Gavaskar trophy is cash-cow for their respective boards so yeah, its not going anywhere.

Tournament that benefit the boards monetarily will always stay regardless of their format. The more viewership and revenue they will generate the longer they will stay. It also depends on the board on how well they promote these tournament and how good their team performs in test cricket format?

I roam around this forum although I seldom post and I notice that Bitvest and 777Coin upon checking are the two signature campaigns in the gambling industry with the longest campaign and with so many participants.

= Are they the only gambling sites that really make a profit from gambling

No,

Check Bustadice, it has been active since 2017 around the same time when 777coins and Bitvest started. Since these two campaigns accept Full Member and Member that is the reason you see a lot of posts.

Quote
Why other campaigns only last 2 to 5 weeks why they cannot sustain

It fully depends on the owners of Bitcoin casino to decide their target audience. If they want audience from Bitcointalk they would only concentrate this forum, If they want to concentrate on Google they will spend money on creating backlinks to rank high.
5086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it worth paying to advertise your ref link? on: August 07, 2020, 06:35:12 AM
I have seen referral links working really well when you advertise them on any Social Network. For Instance, Twitter according to me is great to promote cryptocurrency referral links. Facebook is great to promote Amazon referral link and the best of all is Pinterest.

In my opinion, it depends on which platform you are choosing and what kind of referral link you are promoting.

This match is turning into a great match to watch as Pakistan have dominated the match but England are fighting back so its going to be an interesting day 3 as to see whether England can get close to Pakistan's first innings total. Just like in the series against the WI, England have started off badly but with this partnership between Pope and Buttler they can help steady the ship and maybe post a good total. This will be the key partnership for England if they are to get anywhere near Pakistan's first innings total.

Pope 46 runs not out innings helped England to slightly get back on track and ending day on 92/4. Still trailing by 234 runs and this would mean that Pakistan might get a lead in first innings if they can wrap up the remaining innings of England today. England in-between lose their track after some phenomenal winnings in past and then in between they just play some sloppy cricket.

Oh they are still in a pretty bad situation,  they have already lost 4 wickets and you cannot under estimate Pakistan's balling. Some one from England side has to stay on the wicket till the end of play today. If not then this test is out of England's hand.
5088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jon Prosser’s YouTube Channel Hacked on: August 06, 2020, 03:00:57 PM
Bitcoin Scammers Rebrand Jon Prosser’s YouTube Channel as ‘NASA’

YouTube took down Jon Prosser’s channel with 262K subscribers after hackers used it to promote a free Bitcoin giveaway scam.
Scammers have conned more YouTube viewers into sending them Bitcoin after hacking several more large verified accounts and posting ‘free giveaway’ videos.

According to an Aug. 5 tweet posted by Jon Prosser, his Front Page Tech YouTube channel with 262,000 subscribers was hacked by bad actors who changed the name to “NASA [news]” and began live streaming a fake Bitcoin (BTC) giveaway video featuring SpaceX’s Elon Musk.

“Hackers have made $4,000 in Bitcoin so far,” said Prosser. “YouTube tells me I need to fill out a form and wait ‘a few weeks.’”
Seven years’ worth of Front Page Tech’s videos were deleted by the scammers. YouTube took the channel down roughly two hours after Prosser first noticed the breach, and it remains offline.

Youtube's new content creator policy clearly state now that any channel that promotes cryptocurrency scams will straight away get banned. I assume they have banned this channel after it got hacked Bitcoin scammers.

Intrestingly channel hacking has become more easy for scammers now days then it was earlier. Almost all channels get hacked because of the owners error in judgement. In such cases Youtube is also helpless and cannot do a lot.
5089  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google Advertises Uniswap Phishing Scams on: August 06, 2020, 02:56:44 PM
This is not Google's fault, anyone can place an advertisement on Google by using Google Adwords. Google does not take any moral responsibilities for advertisements on its platforms. It is the responsibility of the community in this case us to report such scams and spams to Google so that they can remove it.

Creating an article on this issue does not mean anything significant as then this website needs to create a lot of articles related to Youtube scams.
5090  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why there are too many topics related to Crypto Scams here? on: August 06, 2020, 11:46:00 AM
My question to all of you after reading your replies:
  • Why will a begginer always want to read about a scam and not the benefits he can achieve being here?
  • Did anyone here create a topic about benefits of cryptocurrency? or we assumed they know about it?
  • We assumed they do not know about Scams or we are creating topics for Merits?
- Why would they read about scams? Who wouldn't want to be warned and be saved from scammers? If I am not mistaken, there are only two boards where scam warnings are posted and I doubt beginners would only focus on those.
- Benefits like decentralized, censorship resistant, and can be sent across all borders are written all over the forum in the form of topics and comments.
- I don't know about merits but newbies don't know all about scams. From what I have seen recently, newbies are getting scammed first before they come and ask here. Check the examples below:
I haven't even mentioned the many newbies scammed or phished from downloading fake wallets on google play store or the fake web extensions.

I'm certain that there are many cases like that in the past years that is why you see a lot of scam alerts and avoiding scam guides posted today.

It seems you are only interested in promoting scams in cryptocurrency. How many times have you thought or tried promoting benefits of cryptocurrency. The impression that you are giving to newbies is that cryptocurrency is all about scameers and scam projects.

After 4 wickets and 150 runs on board I feel England are back into the test. I do not think Pakistani players will  be able to bat the whole day today. While Babar Azam was batting it felt like Pakistan will easily cross 300 now it seems 250 would be a good score.

As China has got their own search engine as well as their own social media and other platforms for usage surely they'll understand the decision of India to have their own apps for all needs. As a beginning, before India makes an aggressive move Vivo has volunteered to move out as there will be decline in the progress in India. Though it cause a huge loss to the common people, in the long run it will benefit India.

Self reliant is the primary objective of Indian government and Indians now. I do know it will create panic and chaos in the beginning but in the long run it will help India to be less dependent on others.

I am not sure whether BCCI will be able to find a new main sponsor for IPL now as there is very less time left for the tournament. In the mean time just read in the news of new demands by the franchises.

Quote
One franchise wants reimbursements for gate money; another wants BCCI to compensate for value erosion in the wake of Vivo India's exit or find replacement(s) at the earliest; a third one wants quarantine rules relaxed for a set of players and so on

Suddenly it seems franchises are not happy with anything related to IPL  from BCCI after the sudden exit of VIVO as the main sponsor.

You are in a really messed up situation as you were part of the scheme. I do not understand what made you join such a shitty scheme. When they offered you 10 percent at that time you should have understood what can happen if they are caught?

Since, you did those transactions you cannot escape, the only thing that can benefit you would be to surrender everything you know with the authorities if they come for you and plead guilty.

I am not sorry about you, but I think people like you should be caught and prosecuted as individuals like you give a bad reputation to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.

A lot of people here want to feel important, but are unable to create anything of value, so they act as forum police pointing out scams that nobody would ever fall for as a way to pretend they are making a difference in the community. The sad part is that in their desperation to feel important they end up harassing everyone who tries to build anything here, chasing away talent and leaving this place as a cesspool of scammers and trolls endlessly fighting using multiple alt accounts to make posts advertising shady money laundering coin mixers and illegal gambling operations in their signatures to make a few bucks. It’s been one of the great disappointments in my life watching what this forum has devolved into while Nero watches Rome burn.

You are absolutely correct @OgNasty, there has been so many instances where things have gone wrong due to social policing by members in this forum. I cannot pin point as I fear I will lose everything that I worked for.

My question is simple:

Are these newbies so dumb that they do not understand what scam can do to them? or are we so dumb to believe that we have no what to post and what will benefit the newbie???

The Ban on Chinese products will be done in a phased manner. India cannot ban all items in one go, they have already banned a lot of Chinese apps, big infrastructure contracts have been cancelled and now the government is planning to ban Chinese telecommunication products.

By year-end most Chinese products will either get banned or these Chinese companies will have to sell their Indian business to indian companies.

I am not sure how beneficial this is going to be. Because Chinese companies were investing a lot of money in to various sectors in India. They were willing to take up infrastructural projects, at a much lower cost when compared to the other foreign engineering companies. Take the case of BCCI. They have now lost a deal which was worth ₹2,200 crore. The largest bid made by a non-Chinese brand was less than half of that amount.

So, for cheap price should Indians sell their country, I do not think so and it will never happen. As US and other European countries join the league of banning Chinese apps and products, CCP will have to think twice before they go for an aggressive stand.

Now, after VIVO moving out vokuntarily from IPL sponsorship. I feel the CCP would rethink their strategy for India.

Looks like Pakistan got a good start here. After 12 overs, they are 32/0 with Abid Ali and Shan Masood resisting the English bowlers. Perhaps the Pakistan captain made the right decision by electing to bat. England has included Jofra Archer in the squad, despite his lack of form and recent theatrics. Let's see how that is going to work out for them.
The good start is gone as Azhar Ali is gone for a duck and Pakistan lost 2 wickets for 48 runs. It is going to be a good battle and i am not sure whether to wage a bet on the innings total for Pakistan. Babar Azam is the trump card and he is in good form in his past six innings as he scored centuries back to back and he needs to continue that form in the match for Pakistan to post a challenging total. Jofra Archer can bounce the ball and Asian batsman are not that good pulling the ball and it will be a challenge.

WTF!!

Rain again!!

Intresting match got stopped because of the rain. 121/2 Babar Azam and Shaan Masood have added 78 runs to the board. They both were just starting when rain interuted the match.

Would have been horrible if they fell short with so many wickets remaining which is why I am glad they got home at the end. Kudos to Stirling and Balbirnie.
The last few overs were really crucial, when they lost their partnership because of a run out i thought things would go horribly wrong as Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie got out in quick succession, it is a good win for Ireland and on papers they defeated the ODI world champions which is a big deal even if the entire team was not playing in this match.

Last one day was a shocker to me, I never expected Irish team to chase such a big target. The last few overs just blew my mind what an incredibly batting by Ireland. I still cannot believe they defeated England with wickets still in hand, they only lost 3 wickets.
Before the match I predicted this to be the match of Ireland, but looking upon the target of 328 my mind got changed. England is gonna make an one sided win in a very easy manner taking fast wickets. To my prediction everything happened opposite to it, the game played by the openers gave a strong support for the following players. This was a big win, as it has won losing just 3 wickets.

I also thought the same, I assumed that England will win by 3-0. I skipped the live match but now I think I missed the best match in this series. I still cannot believe they chased 328.

India, didn't ban any Chinese products, they only banned Apps but I heard that import taxes for some Chinese products are increased after the issue but this is going to affect the people only since we are the consumer so extra price will be on the head of the people in India. And actually India can't ban any Chinese products most of the electronics goods used all around the world was manufactured in China even if it is not a Chinese company so India need to build their own brands before banning others.

Recently a ban was imposed on some of the items, such as TV screens. This served two purposes - first, the market share of Chinese screens went down. And secondly, the Indian-made TV screens now got a monopoly in the market. But it is not practical to completely ban the Chinese brands. For example, Vivo was paying ₹2,200 crore for the five-year old deal with the BCCI. The second highest bid was also from a Chinese brand (Oppo) and that was worth ₹1,430 crore. Bids from all the other brands were lower than this amount. BCCI is going to lose a lot of money as a result of the Vivo pullout.

The Ban on Chinese products will be done in a phased manner. India cannot ban all items in one go, they have already banned a lot of Chinese apps, big infrastructure contracts have been cancelled and now the government is planning to ban Chinese telecommunication products.

5100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run Will Be ‘Dramatically Different’ on: August 05, 2020, 10:12:31 AM
Considering how the crypto market is growing, the bull run of Bitcoin will not be as the same as 2017. Personally, I don't really see a bull run of Bitcoin like 2017. Looking at the Bitcoin market from 2018 to now, the bull run will be like a 10% increase in the previous market value of Bitcoin and the market might drop in few days after the rise.  I don't think there will be any dramatic different as stated by Winklevoss Twin in as much that there are more capital, infrastructure and better projects.  People have learnt to understand the bitcoin market. Due to that, the next bull run of  Bitcoin will not be significantly huge as before.

I agree too

Bitcoin Bull run will be completely different this time. Like 2017 it won't shoot to a new all time high straight away but this time it will go step by step. I accept it to reach till 25k by the end of this year or early next year.
