It's going to be such an exciting finish. 45 more runs needed from just 5 overs, with 7 wickets remaining. It is still 50/50 and can swing either way. Just a single wicket, or a six can change the course of the match. For Ireland, the advantage is that the big hitter Kevin O'Brien is still there. But both Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie are back in the pavillion.

I was really excited about Ireland but England again good fight back and they are gripping tight against them now O Brien is key for Ireland success if he is going to stay and have some good fire works then surely they are going to win this match otherwise England is now again back very strongly and able to clean sweep Ireland. Edit: Willey's this no ball again change momentum of game in favour of Ireland.

Such an unbelievable finish. Kevin O'Brien once again proves to be a thorn in the flesh for England. Harry Tector was really struggling out there, but O'Brien removed the pressure by hitting a few big shots. Without him, the match would have gone England's way. Now Ireland has their first points in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. The two waist-high full tosses bowled by England proved to be very costly.

203 runs in last 31 overs great fight from these two now leading for remarkable win and its second time now they are chasing 325+ against England Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling have some good form in right time few minutes ago I was watching odds for Ireland its nearly @3.6 and now these are same for England @3.6 good for punters as today they have some good win. The odds for Ireland winning the match was really high and finally Ireland won the match which i did not expect after England scoring 328 runs, the Ireland top order played a wonderful innings and that too at a good run rate and they stood till the end and then Harry Tector and Kevin O'Brien did the finishing touches. Ireland defeated England in the past chasing and they did that again, if Ireland was chasing in the first two matches i wonder what would be the situation .

Sucks to be me and Sucks to be everyone hahaha Agreed. I never expected them to win with 7 wickets remaining while chasing such a big target. I was expecting a collapse due to pressure, but they managed well though they pushed it pretty close till the end. Would have been horrible if they fell short with so many wickets remaining which is why I am glad they got home at the end. Kudos to Stirling and Balbirnie.

The last few overs were really crucial, when they lost their partnership because of a run out i thought things would go horribly wrong as Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie got out in quick succession, it is a good win for Ireland and on papers they defeated the ODI world champions which is a big deal even if the entire team was not playing in this match.

I still cannot believe they defeated England with wickets still in hand, they only lost 3 wickets.

A total of 3 players scored a century yesterday and all three were from Ireland. However one of them was playing for England. It surprises me that despite losing their best players to England, Ireland still manages to put up a fight. Imagine an Irish team, with players such as Eoin Morgan and Boyd Rankin. I am not saying that such a team would be able to beat big-3 nations regularly, but at least they will be competitive against the other teams such as West Indies and Sri Lanka.

Before the match I predicted this to be the match of Ireland, but looking upon the target of 328 my mind got changed. England is gonna make an one sided win in a very easy manner taking fast wickets. To my prediction everything happened opposite to it, the game played by the openers gave a strong support for the following players. This was a big win, as it has won losing just 3 wickets. I also thought the same, I assumed that England will win by 3-0. I skipped the live match but now I think I missed the best match in this series. I still cannot believe they chased 328.

It was similar to the match between Australia and South Africa in the year 2006. Australia scored 434 losing 4 wickets, and everyone came to the conclusion the winner is Australia. The end gave a big surprise, from the beginning South Africa keeps losing wickets, but every player contributes good before going out. This continued and finally South Africa won the match leaving a bell and a wicket behind.

There is a major difference between the pay scale of Ireland players and England players and Eoin Morgan was talented enough to get a place in the England side if not he would be playing for Ireland. People migrate to different countries for better opportunities and we cannot blame them. Ireland stunned everyone with their performance and if they could do that consistently then it would be great.

~ I still cannot believe they defeated England with wickets still in hand, they only lost 3 wickets.
On their day Ireland can upset any team and that is the thrill of it as they have the experience of defeated them on a world cup stage chasing a high total and they replicated the same performance here. It was similar to the match between Australia and South Africa in the year 2006. Australia scored 434 losing 4 wickets, and everyone came to the conclusion the winner is Australia. Loosing an ODI match after scoring 434 runs is devastating and it is the most entertaining high scoring match in the history of cricket and it was like watching a thriller movie as i never gave South Africa a chance to win because of the total they need to achieve and i wonder how many lost their bets and how many won wagging a bet on that match .

They could be more better team but they need to work on some better environment because they have some finances problems and domestic system is also not good most of players playing in English counties so they prefer to stay there.

Ireland surely need one more decade to establish themselves in international level, not expecting much in the Test format but T-20/ODI seems good target.

Maybe in the next decade we may not see much of the test cricket because it is the longest format of any sport available in the world, in modern era people are getting so busy with their work so they may not have much time to watch five day matches. Good comeback from the Ireland and they made it like a boss with only 3 wickets, good luck for their future.

Very much possible scenario. I think ICC might give up their fantasy of spreading the test cricket in a longer run, let's say next 2 decades. More innovation in the World cricket would take place, we already have seen few in form of 3 teams Cricket / T-10 and soon with the 100 balls cricket.

Even if they might not be successful in spreading Test cricket but i don't think anyone would get rid of The Ashes which is the most watched and entertaining series in cricket, Border–Gavaskar is another high profile series between Australia and India and so is Gandhi Mandela series between South Africa and India and Trans-Tasman series between Australia and New Zealand is always competitive and their rivalry are like India and Pakistan. More innovation in the World cricket would take place, we already have seen few in form of 3 teams Cricket / T-10 and soon with the 100 balls cricket.
These might create interest and attract new fans, whether these formats can create interest is to be seen. The difference T20 cricket made is that the players are focusing on fitness to play these short formats and fielding is an integral part.
