521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Privacy on SkyCoin - how exactly? Explenation inside + additional resources on: December 26, 2017, 08:08:49 PM
So recently people have been asking how Skycoin reaches anonymity whilst having a public ledger? In the following post I'm going to try and clear some things up on the privacy coin SkyCoin and how that works. As i'm not a tech genie you have to bear with me as I'm going to try my best.

Skycoin uses CoinJoin which was first proposed by Gregory Maxwell for Bitcoin transactions which is an anonymization method. In Gregory's own words:
Quote
“When you want to make a payment, find someone else who also wants to make a payment and make a joint payment together.”

When a joint payment is made there's no way to relate inputs and outputs in one transaction and thus the exact direction of the money remains unkown.
The CoinJoin-protocol thus guarrantees privacy even though its ledger is public the transactions are obscured. Anyone administering chain analysis would see a tangled mess if anything.

Quote
Via an action called coinjoin you can mix your Skycoins with other people's transactions in a way that obscures from which address and to which address the coins are heading. Anyone administering chain analysis would see a tangled mess if anything.

Skycoin offers native support for advanced CoinJoin features.

Okay wasn't that bad as I expected. If you want to learn more about SkyCoin which is more than just a privacy coin. I'll leave some resources for you:

522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RaiBlocks (XRB) is going to be a top 10 coin on: December 26, 2017, 07:19:14 PM
it's just matter of time when some decent exchanges like bittrex and binance pick them up and they will be on moon, hopefully soon.

Bit-z has announced the listing of XRB, this gem has started to shine
let it come to binance, bittrex and somewhere to see it flying

I think its already flying, no need for these exchanges. I think a lot of people took the effort to make an account on Bitgrail and snatch up XRB. Its getting some well deserved attention. Broke 1 billion marketcap today and is hanging in there.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitconnect pump on: December 26, 2017, 07:16:35 PM
No idea but it doesn't look very healthy, we'll see what happens. Lost about 50% of its value in a week and shooting right up atm, might be because of BTC but the pump seems a bit to dramatic for that. We'll see, maybe there are people now flowing into Bitconnect after purchasing Bitcoins, Ethers and litecoins.
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN] [ICO] [SUN] | SolarBankers | Bounty program UPDATED on: December 25, 2017, 08:44:54 PM
I think its a very interesting project but I personally don't have much experience investing and this ICO is something else than you'd regurally see. But i'm really on the fence here, I like the project and I'd like to see it get funded but then again this isn't exactly charity and the amount to be raised is tremendous and thus also the token/company evaluation.

Is there a soft cap you need to hit? Have you tried raising capital with private investors and VC's?

I think what you're doing is very realistic in terms of achieving the goal. But it would take a lot of time to build this network with individuals and I wonder if any investment I'd make wouldn't be dilluted with this. I also wonder how much you have raised so far as I assume that hitting the hardcap is essential to the project?
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: McAfee speaks coins and tokens on: December 25, 2017, 08:02:33 PM
do u trust mc affee and are his calls better than the palm beach confidential reports?

I trust Mcafee, I think he made a good call today on Humaniq (not holding) its doing more than OmiseGo is. PBC is a completely different thing. PBC picks for profit. Mcafee is just tweeting what he thinks are good coins, I believe. Though I'm not suprised by any alter motive, I don't assume he has one though. He's pretty hyped about this crypto stuff. Ofcourse he is an early software pioneer and he's getting old so I think he's more amazed by what is going on as this is all right in his alley and he's getting older. I mean to be an early pioneer with the march of computers and then witness a second revolution in technology is pretty cool.

I atleast think he has his heart in the right place.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LOOPX ICO FULL REVIEW on: December 25, 2017, 06:53:50 PM
Any LinkedIn? A page where I can see who I'm dealing with?
Is there a prototype or demo?

Also I find some of FAQ answers a bit weird:
Q: ''Why should I invest in LoopX?"
A: ''A lending project is usually considered risky. Any person who likes to participate needs to understand the risks. However, LoopX has the most trustworthy Team behind the project and is here to help you make money''

This was the first Q/A I opened and judging soley by this answer you have obviously never run a business before. And what makes your team trustworthy in the first place? I don't see names, faces, social media links.

Also this one:

Q: ''Where can I sell LoopX''?
A: ''We will get listed on 3 exchanges by february''

Now if I didn't have experience before with these statements I'd probably believe you but the fact is that projects often just say these things when they only applied, but applying does not = listing. I used to think they had already arranged those things and therefore it was noted on the site or telegram. Can you even confirm that you're absolutely with guarrantee going to get listed on 3 exchanges by february? What happens if you don't deliver on your promise?

I can't really work with this in all honesty. It seems fraudulent or deceiving and it lacks a lot of transparency.

Roadmap;

Judging from your roadmap you basically got the internal exchange ready for launch? So why not provide a demo or some kind of visual reference that I can see or try out? And the website opens with Advanced trading platform and then in the roadmap it turns into a lending platform.

Again, it seems fraudelent and deceiving. And I'd caution anyone looking at this ICO and considering making an investment. These lending platforms have been saturated with investors anyway, or you want to get into a risky PnD cause thats what basically happened to RegalCoin aswell.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: December 24, 2017, 09:07:51 PM
Damm I hope cryptopia will change something is really shitty now there...
1) no verification daily limit like 2000$
2) and when you need withdraw fee is 1 sky while sky is 14$ same time Doge is for 3 Doge.

I no wonder while they have almost no fucking volume... they should update/lower fees because this is in their intrest.
Echange goes ok while trading but those fees are stupid right now when all went x10... 1-2$ fee on not 20$... and you need multiple to bypas stupid verification

Yeah its ridiculous, meanwhile they give excuses that they're to busy because of the number of projects wanting to get listed. I suppose but they also raised fees and I assume they can hire some extra staff to process everything ...
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you think that ICO is good? on: December 24, 2017, 09:04:01 PM
I always check their website  and team as well. How about you guys? Do you go by suggestion or do you do research on the ICO?

1. Intensive reading of the whitepaper
2. Intensive study on the team
3. Check Social feeds

529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee just tweeted about Reddcoin (RDD) right? on: December 24, 2017, 06:54:04 PM
He is hyping a new coin everyday, he is just purely manipulating the price of almost all the coins.

I just saw John McAfee just tweeted about Reddcoin and then I checked coinmarketcap, RDD price has move to 3 figures, so current values like this, $0.017274 USD (46.25%) 0.00000130 BTC (67.13%)

When he tweeted about Electroneum, the price went up by 80%.

When he tweeted about the other coint that he posted yesterday,  it grew up by 60%

It seems that he is losing popularity right now, this is the third coin that he tries to hype and it could rise only by 40%.

Dude its the people reading his tweets hyping and pumping it, he's merely giving an opinion on coins. ETN went only 40% btw ;p
You can't blame him for this, its the same as Jamie Dimon all of a sudden endorsing Bitcoin, BTC will pump after such an endorsment.

But the man is only giving his opinion and he's only invested into 4 alts, so to say he's doing this for his own benefit is a misconception given that he will likely be promoting a dozen coins over the next months.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 year coins on: December 24, 2017, 05:06:24 PM
hope 1 coin to be more than Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Visa, Wells Fargo etc by marketcap after 10 years or 20 years.

bitcoin can be bigger than google but no know  about others

True but I think its fair to assume that with a whole new industry much like with the internet that we will see some companies here succeed similarily to those early days. We might have the second Google or Amazon here, though it is very hard to tell and such a company might not even exist at the moment.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 10 year coins on: December 24, 2017, 04:48:31 PM
What are coins you see still being around in 10 years? What coins do you think have the potential to be next equivalent of Google(Alphabet), Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Visa, Wells Fargo etc by marketcap?

Just make assumptions based on current visions, global reach and solutions. I'd like to hear about actuall companies though, not currencies i.e. Monero, Verge, BCH, BTC, Dash etc.

Would be interesting to see.

Myself I'd think of perhaps; Ripple, Lumens, Maybe IOTA, NEM and the NXT series.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Easiest x10 Coin for 2018 on: December 24, 2017, 03:36:13 AM
One of the best opportunities in 2017 was the investment in the lending platform, every coin provided at least x10 of their initial price in the ico as an example:

RegalCoin ICO price:$0,85 USD now  ~$7
HextraCoin ICO price:$0,9 USD now ~$20
Davor ICO price:$0.72 USD now ~$21
_______________________________________

And now the gold pot in my opinion:

Monyx (The ICO starts tomorrow)

The ICO price starts at $0,45 and ends at $1, the earlier investor can get even more buying at $0,45

Why i think this coin will go to the moon:

-Following the previous sucess from another Lending platform
-Read their whitepapper, they know what they are doing
-Many lending platform doesn't allow you to withdrawal your money before the ICO ends but the Monyx Platform allows

 https://monyx.io/

What do you guys think? Lending platform is always a bit risky but what isn't?

What's the point though? This ICO is only ment to fatten the pockets of its organizers whilst giving the community some shady shit, a very simple platform to lend tokens on, anyone can do this and I bet you don't even need 5% of the money you're trying to raise. Meanwhile you know its so absolutely ridiculous and garbage that you have to shill future prices just to get people to buy into this bullshit which btw is not only illegal as fuck but can also get your ass sued, now this is crypto so its likely not to happen but its the absolute worst.

Some projects here actually try to make the world a better place in any way they think that is possible and all you're doing is setting up some get rich quick scheme. And some people are actually to uninformed to see trough this kind of bullshit, eventually these platforms will exit their scams or get shut down once governments start peeking around and fuck over tons of people who have bought this crap.

534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Everyone oblivious to what just happened. on: December 23, 2017, 03:39:00 AM

Something big is about to happen to XRP in 2018.

You just witnessed the start of the big move from 1st gen to 2nd gen crypto.

Something good or bad?

Its the start of the inevitable. Im not going to bash bitcoin, because it is wonderful technology, but people have not done their research and kept up to date with how the Blockchain and DAG movements are developing

Bitcoin was, and is a concept coin. Alot of people haven't woken up to this. Some believe bitcoin can live on infinitely, others dont care and are just putting their money into the most popular.

Bitcoin cannot achieve the status of a universal currency and its transfer times and fees are not acceptable for it to act as electronic gold. Not now, not in 100 years time, for reasons described elsewhere and by numerous people.

The market will correct itself. The 2nd gen tech is now maturing and ready to take over. The crypto market is here to stay. The $bn's invested are going nowhere. All that changes is where those $bn's go, and it wont be in bitcoin.

Might be right, been avoiding BTC myself a lot lately aswell cause I just can't stand the fees and confirmation times. Instead i'm keeping my money in alts more and more. I also can't stand the hardforks, still haven't claimed any of the fork coins... but I don't think the current devs really care about BTC anyway or else they would have done something and it wouldndn't be forked every fucking week.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies want me to use Bitcoin Cash? on: December 23, 2017, 03:26:35 AM
Most of companies that ask customers to pay in BCH for some mysterious reason are located in china (like bitmain) and they are simply abusing their monopolistic position on the market. It is done only to make the illusion that this coin is legit and to pump bitcoin cash. The situation will change once there will be more competitors on the market.

Dude its not just Bitmain, Bitpay wants to switch over to BCH aswell. BTC is fucking ridiculous to use for small payments atm, it doesn't make sense to use BTC for a 10 dollar payment when there's a 5 dollar fee on top of that and BCH offering fees in the low cents with fast confirmation.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies want me to use Bitcoin Cash? on: December 23, 2017, 03:25:07 AM
The problem is, that exactly because of Bitcoin decentralisation, there's noone to care and noone to promote.
But taking Bit-Shit as a payment... I guess, the companies are scared of the correction, and they also do understand, that Bit-shit team has a centralised advantage in their marketing. THey ACTUALLY market the bit-shit

Most companies are just fed up with BTC fees and transaction times, that BCH offers itself as an alternative isn't their fault. Dev's of BTC have had enough time by now to get their shit together but they continue doing nothing.  I'm no holder of BCH but I can't blame them for doing good business.

You can scream all you want at BCH but it does have low fees and fast confirmation whereas BTC its becoming normal having to wait days for confirmation and paying fees as high as 50 dollars. Its fucking ludicrous
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies want me to use Bitcoin Cash? on: December 23, 2017, 01:43:13 AM
What kind of companies are you talking about? BCH is just another shitcoin, honestly, they have NOTHING standing for them, just pure hype, and the fact, that they are not congested yet.

No BitPay is keeping their customers on standby whilst they integrate BCH payment instead of BTC. Only BTC payments over 100$ are currently accepted.

If Roger Ver and co really did congest the BTC network with a ton of small transactions.. then I suppose he got what he wanted.

They aren't actually even that hyped only within their own circle. Most people rather look at BTC but BTC devs don't really seem to give a shit and I can't stand the continious hardforking myself.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bee Token Pre-sale Coming Up on: December 23, 2017, 01:42:03 AM
Is there a website? Or is it just Telegram and Twitter? Just a telegram and twitter is a no go by definition.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies want me to use Bitcoin Cash? on: December 23, 2017, 01:36:57 AM
Some days ago I heard somewhere that companies want users to replace Bitcoin with Bitcoin Cash, but why is it though? Is it even True?

I understand that Bitcoin fees are currently a "bit" high, so people would be interested in using bCash instead of Bitcoin, but why would a company be interested in Bitcoin Cash replacing Bitcoin?  Undecided

Because the network is congested, transactions taking hours/days to confirm isn't really something you can use as a business on top of high fees it also gets really expensive for the customer. Although I think BCH will just suffer from the same problems once it grows..
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Substratum(SUB) is the future of web 3.0 on: December 23, 2017, 01:31:59 AM
This project is going to be a game changer. SUB currently trading on Binance

Network launches in January, amazing time to get in right before things blow up

I will be running my own node and earning substrate while I sleep as well

https://themerkle.com/net-neutrality-vpns-supercomputers/

https://substratum.net/

Yeah and then someone starts a botnet and spams his own nodes earning a ton of tokens...

I think SkyCoin has a better chance of succeeding...
