522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Answer this Question on Credits Left on a Slot Machine by Someone Else on: September 26, 2023, 11:11:52 AM
There is a general rule in land based casinos that a gambler shouldn't take credits left on a slot machine by someone else. Basically, from what I understand, if there is still credit showing on a slot machine. Don't cash out or add to your money you put into the machine. Right? The question is if you find a cash out voucher resting on the machine itself or on the seat, can you legally use it?
523  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Life lesson]Nothing is really free on: September 26, 2023, 10:37:38 AM
It took me quite a long time to understand that nothing is really free, to the least you will be giving away your time. If you don't find whatever you do worthy of your time, don't do it.

Ppc, faucets and such are waste of time to earn money. If you put the same amount of time in learning some valuable skill you will earn better.

If you want to know the reasons why people spend so much time on PPC, Faucets, airdrops, and many rather than spending that same amount of time learning about bitcoin is because, it is the path of least resistance. It is very easy to do one or two steps and think that it will get you bitcoins. Do your own research about bitcoin is very hard. It requires hours of intentse and consistent study. However, this is the path that offers the most benefit.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 26, 2023, 10:29:31 AM
Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).
A show of respect and regard for ones kid and himself is to display any behaviour that is capable of mildly, moderately, and extremely affecting the child mentally, emotionally, morally, spiritually and otherwise. And one of those behaviours is gambling. The negative effect on the kid may not be seen immediately however, manifestations of it will begin to become obvious as the kid approaches adolscence.

I reiterate with the OP, NEVER GAMBLE IN FRONT OF YOUR KIDS OR ANY KID.
525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I started a new journey today in Bitcoin on: September 26, 2023, 10:11:21 AM
Interesting. You are in the right community with many resources. How fast you learn is dependent on you. If your intention is to learn more about bitcoin you would need to read wide more than the knowledge shared on this platform. I want to caution you that your aim here shouldn't be to accumulate merits, neither should it be to create topics every other day advising newbies and other ranking members.

The knowledge of bitcoin doesn't stop here. In fact if you use this forum correctly, you will not only accumulate bitcoins but you will become a very reputable member here.

PS: The poll is not necessary.

527  Economy / Economics / Re: If They Can Pay off their Debts, Why Don't They? on: September 25, 2023, 04:55:49 PM
Debt is not a bad thing, poor countries are still poor even without debts. Debt is what the world is built on. And these dents can never be repaid. What these countries do is that they keep paying off their interests on these debts while leaving the debt.

528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 25, 2023, 04:25:58 PM
I'm always betting significant amount when I'm in the losing streak, Let's say only 30% left from my original bankroll after playing 1hr to 4hrs of non-stop Blackjack.
I have a question from you, what do you say to yourself in those  moments to convince yourself to "go-harder" even when you are in the losing streak?

Quote
My heart palpitates during this bet and I really love the intense feeling. Most of the time I lose on this but it's really worth it if I win since I recover my original bankroll plus sweet profit of 20% of my bankroll.
You are a person that would love adventure. A person that can go bungee jumping. On a second thought, you have a lot of money that you can afford to lose.

Quote
Are you doing this intense gambling experience by betting significant amount of your bankroll? This is insane but worth it if you are a thrill seeker for entertainment.
Well, I am not like you. Anything intense, I run far away. I have yet to build up the courage for this heart rendering experience.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: September 25, 2023, 02:42:49 PM
My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?

I do not place my bet according to the weight of my financial need. I am okay with whatever amount I win irrespective of whether it is small or big. If I have an urgent financial need to be met, I find a second job , I asked a family or friend to loan me some money, I sell some personal items or my Bitcoin and solve the money problem.

Well I want to believe that it is only newbie gamblers who would only gamble base on potential winning amount. And it tells me that the mom in they are going to use for gambling is money that they know that they cannot avoid to lose.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep safe the mnemonic phrase - Whats Your method? on: September 25, 2023, 02:35:02 PM
fellow members,

As we all know keeping mnemonic phrase in a secure place is the first step of bitcoin journey. But there are few thing that comes in my mind:

->Writing and keeping it with you/your place: What if someone got the access in your absence of theft or any disaster?

I use hardware wallets to store my keys and sign transactions because it gives me the highest level of security. Another benefit of it is that it allows me to make paper backups of my key phrases in order to achieve resilience and continuity incase something happens to me.
My desktop isn't secure at all just like every other desktop out there. My assumption is that both my computer and mobile phone have been compromised. Therefore, any information stored in there vulnerable to being accessed by bad actors.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Bought More BTC on: September 25, 2023, 01:58:01 PM
Is this good for Bitcoin? Let's forget for a moment the positive impacts on bitcoins whenever Microstrategy buys Bitcoin and think for a moment to think overall for the community if this is bad for one entity to hold so much Bitcoin. I looked through the company's profile and found out that their shareholders are mostly big investment companies. Well for worth is worth, their stock price would keep increasing that way, they can get more money to buy more Bitcoins.
532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Psychology and tips on: September 24, 2023, 10:22:04 PM
Backtesting is also an important aspect of trading success. Because, according to some, trading is 10% analysis and 90% psychology. You can acquire confidence if we backtest our strategy before implementing it in a live trade. If we are confident in our plan, we may be confident that we will be profitable in this manner.
I think back testing plays an important part in developing your trading strategy. Backtesting should work on low time frames like 1-5 minutes because the market condition changes very slowly. Backtesting can be time-consuming, and the time spent on it may lead to missed opportunities in the current market. Interpreting backtest results can vary, leading to different conclusions about the effectiveness of a trading strategy. Backtesting can provide a false sense of security, as it may not accurately reflect how a strategy will perform in real-time trading conditions.

533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first knowledge in Bitcoin/Bitcointalk on: September 24, 2023, 09:55:39 PM
I heard about bitcoin from my uncle and he has been talking about bitcoin since February 2022 and have been hearing how bitcoin pays and support youths. If invest in long term. And he also warned me that bitcoin is not get quick rich scheme and there are different ways one can get bitcoin. And the ones he told me were:
1) buy bitcoin and store it in the wallet for the next bull market   to come. And he told me to buy it in the bear market and invest it for a long term investment for like 3_5 years period, so I am planning to invest for the long term.
2) trading is the buying and selling of bitcoin in the market at all time or anytime which gives you profit if you can trade well. But trading is more risk than investment.
3) mining is the solving of mathematical problem through computing system when someone send bitcoin to a recipient, a miner must mine the coins in the blockchain before the recipient will receive the coin.
         Conclusion:
In my curiousity to know more about bitcoin, he told me to register in bitcointalk so I will learn and know more from there. So if I make any mistake in any of my writing, please correct me. I am open to correction.
You have the right mindset and perspective towards bitcoin but it doesn't stop there. Your Uncle right now more than the forum still remains the best person in the position to teach you more about bitcoin. You still have a lot more to and you will just as profiting from bitcoin requires a long term perspective so it is with learning about the project.

Bitcointalk is welcoming to all newbies. Make the most of your time while you are here. Goodluck.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 24, 2023, 09:45:32 PM
Today's games had some results that left me very surprised.

Bologna 0 - 0 Napoli

This was a game in which I had bet on Napoli to win the game, on paper I saw Napoli as the favorites to win this game, but on the field I started to realize that Napoli are no longer anything, that Napoli from last season If it was, I had already said that months ago that Napoli should have sold Victor Osimhen while there was still time, but Napoli's management thought that this season things would be the same and that they would be the team that would dominate Serie A and that Victor Osimhen would be the best scorer and his market value would be much higher. But as I said months ago, that thought became wrong the moment the coach decided to leave and I said that the coach was leaving because he knew very well that that moment was the best because the following season wouldn't be the same.

The guy was very smart to leave with a good reputation because that way he would get other good jobs. but Napoli's management still remained in the world of illusion and as a result they are seeing Napoli in decline. Napoli is in position 7 and with just 8 points from 5 games. This is clear: this is not a performance from a team fighting to be champions. in 5 games, they only had 2 victories, it is clear that at best they will fight for 4th place which will also be difficult to achieve

Now you understand that last year, the league title came due to a series of almost unrepeatable coincidences. Almost zero injuries, the luck of finding Kim and an unknown number 77, Oshimen, who didn't miss anything, the main rivals slowing down, and the nonsense of Juventus' point deduction. Add to this 6 months of celebrations, and that's it. This is Napoli's dimension, a team that can range between 2nd and 5th place.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 24, 2023, 09:24:44 PM
My question is, do you think Victor Boniface can rival Harry Kane and Serhou Guirassy come the end of the season?
Victor Boniface is every defenders nightmare. Watch him anytime he handles the ball, you could literally tell that he is going to do something fabulous. I so much like his energy and impressive skills. His strength, build, and ability to run with the ball makes it impossible for opponents to do so. Additionally, his assists are so on point that the recipient doesn't need to be an expert ball controller like Zidane. I'm interested to see how he performs in a bigger league with greater competition now. On the question, Kane is an old stock. Like they say in the music industry, Victor is still upcoming. In a few years, he'll be just as good as Kane but for right now, Kane is the better player.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on banking systems. on: September 24, 2023, 08:57:05 PM
Does Bitcoin really have challenged the monopoly of your country's traditional banking systems?

What do you guys think?
This is a great question and my answer is that bitcoin cannot challenge the monopoly of any country's traditional banking systems. The reality on ground is that there are still more people using the traditional banking system than there are those who have adopted bitcoin. A second reality is that for the category of people who have adopted bitcoin, there are still use the traditional banking system. That is they have not closed down their bank accounts. And thirdly, those who use bitcoin do not use if for the purchase of their daily needs because it is not yet generally accepted and as such, they are only holding. This is not the case with the traditional banking when customers carry out various banking activities.

Bitcoin and the banking system are on two totally different categories and there cannot be any competition among them. I see them as complimentary "objects rather than as a substitute for the other.
537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter the pressure don't release on: September 23, 2023, 11:48:51 PM
Beginners should never make mistakes to release no matter how long it takes for them to receive payment.
Hold on till everything is settled from both sides.

It is only people who don't pay attention to detail or those who are easily distracted that will click on release funds when they haven't received the funds. But I have heard about cases where this silly mistake was made and was resolved within 7 days after complain was filed and investigations was conducted by the CEX. Then what happened after the issue was resolved was that the individual's account was restricted. I don't know why but it happened. I didn't follow up with it to know if he was still able to sell his coins through that exchange again.
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust RNGs (Random Number Generators) in Casinos? on: September 23, 2023, 11:27:17 PM

After going through a couple of threads on the Gambling Discussion topic I noticed how divided the views are on trusting the RNG and the fairness of most casinos in general. So I wanted to ask everyone - Do you trust the RNGs and why?
Yes, I trust RNGs from highly reputable casinos. I can't say the same for casino's with negative reviews though. I know that when I play at the latter, my mind is at rest and at peace that I will get a fair spin from a $50 bet that is completely random.

There are scam casinos out there that manipulate their RNGs but this cannot be generalized to all casinos. The more reason why gamblers should get educated on these things.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 23, 2023, 10:56:11 PM
This is my standpoint as well. If you know you are a person who lacks discipline and can easily get addicted to gambling, you should stay totally away from it. I think that there is a genetic and environmental predisposition towards gambling addiction.

Another people in this category is anyone who is already experiencing the symptoms of gambling. They should also stay away from it too.

However there are people who have been able to follow healthy gambling practices and have successfully stayed outside the perimeter of gambling addiction.
540  Economy / Economics / Re: Tim Gurner wants Unemployment to increase. Employers have lost their power. on: September 23, 2023, 10:37:59 PM
Tim Gurner is not alone in this. We have CEOs all over the counties of the world with just the same mindset about their employees. This is the reason why I encourage self-employment or the type where you are not committed to just one organization. And yes, these organizations can achieve their organizational dreams and goals without these types of staff. Employees should not be committed to an organization where the CEO is bent on making himself "fatter" while the employees labour their life's, health, happiness, relationships , dreams and career away.
