That approval rating is only from CNN. CNN and the other mainstream media hate Trump from the beginning of his first campaign.

The other Trump approval ratings are more than 40%.

I still think it would make more sense for CNN to fake polls and approval ratings pro Trump - or at least that is what I would do, if I was to support Biden. I am thinking about those people who are not that eager to go voting, but lean (strongly) towards one of the candidates. If I lean towards Biden and see him being 60% favourite, I might say to myself, well, he will win anyway, so I don't need to give my vote. If I lean towards Trump and see him trailing, I might feel the urge to actually give my vote to him.

This only works until a certain threshold of course, because at some point you will have discouraged the underdog voters; maybe they are trying to do that Wink

I cannot agree. I reckon that what might work for Donald Trump might be a disastrous blunder for the campaign of Joe Biden.

@Carlton Banks. The developers should implement it perfectly and there should be no excuses. It would be life or death for people in some countries to be using a privacy technology that can really be traced by the government.

Announced via a HRF blog post, the foundation is spearheading the initiative “to support software developers who are making the Bitcoin network more private, decentralized, and resilient so that it can better serve as a financial tool for human rights activists, civil society organizations, and journalists around the world.”

@Karartma1. The American government knows that bitcoin has an important part to play in society despite many of their criticisms. They are clearly afraid that its part is on helping the disintegration of civilization. It is clearly more than how we use it today.

There was also an article on Coindesk written that bitcoin will only having value in a dystopian society. The present situation in the United States might be the nearest to dystopia occuring in its whole history.

I thought this was too good not to post, every other president on this list who had the same approval rating at this stage of the cycle was not returned to office.

I really think he would have won it otherwise but this year was a test and its not been passed so far though things can still change yet.

The big difference between pollsters and bookies is that bookies are talking from money perspective, who people would put money into for a bet, I would say they would do it even bigger for Hillary back in 2016 (didn't check odds back those days) because it was looked much better, risking your money and who you are voting are different, you may like Trump but think Biden will win and bet on Biden but vote for Trump. That is why you could see some differences between those two results.

Polls are naturally not trustworthy because you ask at most 10-20 thousand people (usually a lot less) and hope to guess what 120+ million would vote.

The sportsbooks and the pollsters had Hillary more as a certainty on 2016 than Biden for 2020.

A sharp fall soon might be correct. That was nice of you to use that instead of dump hehehe. However, it will certainly be followed by another pump. Tether has printed billions. Where would that go? How will it be used? Dump and pump hehehe.

5266  Bitcoin / Press / [2020-06-11] China is losing its dominance over Bitcoin mining industry: report on: June 11, 2020, 02:28:38 AM
This is good news if China's domination on mining goes down, however, I am not convinced. This might only be a small adjustment after the halving before going back to normal.

In any case, the miners in China should begin to find other countries with cheap electricity. I speculate war coming in the South China sea region and this might change the political landscape that might become unpredictable for local and foreign businesses.

TokenInsight cites data from Cambridge University’s Centre for Alternative Finance, which estimates that the overall electricity usage of Bitcoin miners that comes from China had fallen from 75.63% in September 2019 to 65.08% by the end of April.

Cambridge’s estimations provide a rough indication of the hash rate produced by China, Johnson Xu, chief analyst at TokenInsight, told Decrypt.

In the same time frame, Cambridge’s data shows that electricity consumption from Bitcoin miners in the US has increased from 4.06% to 7.24%. Bitcoin mining in Kazakhstan also appears to have boomed: back in September, Kazakhstan’s mining industry accounted for 1.42% of the hash rate; by May 7, it accounted for 6.17% of the hash rate.

Xu said that miners are leaving China to set up shop elsewhere. “The mining landscape in China is quite unstructured,” he said, “limiting opportunities to access capital.”

@Carlton Banks. However, would blockchain analytics firms know what utxo came from a coinswap? That might be a weak point because some exchanges can freeze accounts of users that deposited coins that did a coinswap.
5268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: June 10, 2020, 06:26:49 AM
The emission rate is just to high, I think this coin will end like zec...

Its monetary policy will cause Grin's price to be more stable than bitcoin and become more attractive as a store of value. Anonymous, fungible, scalable, stable. Everything bitcoin was assumed to be.
5269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Justin Sun released TRON 4.0 on: June 10, 2020, 04:32:39 AM
This best represents the way of the Chinese to create a poor copy of what was created by westerners and scam everyone by marketing it as a better version. Tron 4.0 is 2 levels more advanced than Eth 2.0 according to Justin hehehehe.

I have been following the news on Steem versus Hive issue and the how those 2 projects might be presently considered failed.

smooth was also considerate enough to post his own insights.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5229982.msg53991504#msg53991504

In any case, this might open a space for another project similar to Steem which can be developed on Tari? /r/monero has 172k members, /r/aeon has 5.1k members, smooth has experience from being a Steem validator hehehe.
5271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: June 10, 2020, 02:49:31 AM
@bigslimvdub. However, the future of the cryptospace might be on the gray market exchanges that do not require KYC. I reckon we take the chance for listing now because we are never going to find listings on the bigger exchanges.
5272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: June 09, 2020, 04:36:38 AM
@bigslimvdub. Did you read the article? The cryptospace is presently becoming more strictly regulated. It is speculated that some of the volume trading on the big exchanges with KYC will transfer to the smaller exchanges without KYC. We must be ready and expect this.
5273  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-06-01] McAfee backs down from wild Bitcoin $1 million price prediction on: June 09, 2020, 03:29:04 AM
@Lucius. When did he make that statement mentioned in the article, however? He never admitted that it was a joke only an idiot would believe until I read the article.
Also, do you reckon that it was only a joke from the beginning? It appeared to me that he thought his own rubbish would become real hehehe.

Well he actually admitted it, unless someone wants to interpret it differently - but for me personally everything is said in this tweet :

https://twitter.com/officialmcafee/status/1213839069681205254

I would personally interpret this tweet as an indirect shilling for shitcoins. I guess McAfee already sold his soul fully to shilling shitcoins even prior to him making this tweet.

Unfortunately, many shitcoin shills such as this man are doing their dirty acts at the expense of Bitcoin. These ingrate sprouts of whatever Bitcoin has achieved seem to create their significance by discrediting Bitcoin itself.

I however, would interpret it as someone who knows that he has made a great fool of himself in front of millions of people. Who would follow his advice or pay him to shill shitcoins and scam tokens now?

Hey guys check this out! Will McGregor retire for real Shocked?

Whether this is real or just a threat, one thing is for sure. Dana is losing talents right now. Bones then Masvidal and then now Conor? He must do a quick response if he really want to save his huge money makers lol. But sadly he is doing nothing, it seems that he is not bothered of these shocking news at all.

Hmm, do you think Conor will do it or it's just his tactics to demand more from Dana. Your thoughts?

Source: https://www.espn.com/mma/ufc/story/_/id/29277164

No one is thoroughly retired in the sport of MMA hehehe. GSP, BJ Penn, the Dominator and other fighters have fought in the octagon again after retiring.

I speculate that Conor's problem is not money. He is adrift in the lightweight division. He only wants to fight Khabib, however this requires another fight versus Tony Ferguson or Dustin Poirier or if Justin Gaethje is injured.
5275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: June 09, 2020, 01:18:05 AM
Another country that had a success and controlled the coronavirus that Las Vegas can follow is Macau. It is in close proximity with China and it is the highest densely populated region in the world.
What's so good about them? Well, they are not that hard-headed and follow government policies implemented to them unlike Uncle Sam's citizen who does not and other countries that there are cases of not obeying said policies; social distancing, wearing face mask, etc.

I reckon the difference is not because of stubborness. It is cultural. Also, the protests and the riots will not help the casino owners. It might pump coronavirus cases similar to an altcoin pump. The charts of each might look similar hehehehe.
5276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: June 09, 2020, 12:40:33 AM
However, who creates the results of these polls? I am very skeptical. The ratings agencies were paid to rate subprime loans as AAA or AA during the 2008 housing bubble.

these are the same pollsters who said trump's numbers were skyrocketing in march and early april. as discussed earlier, pollsters in the 2016 election were stuck in an elitist bubble, ignoring non-coastal cities and rural america. after their monumental failure in that election, i think they've mostly corrected for those shortcomings.

and with public sentiment turning against trump, punters are turning against him too. betfair has biden at 52% and trump at 42% now. that seems to reflect the most recent polls, which suggest trump's approval rating is plunging:

there is other tangible stuff too. i mentioned earlier about how trump is alienating religious conservatives. well, he is now obviously alienating prominent republicans, who are breaking ranks in increasing numbers: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/06/us/politics/trump-biden-republicans-voters.html

george bush and mitt romney came out saying they don't support trump, colin powell (bush SOS) said he is voting for biden and made a scathing public rebuke of trump. heavyweights like ryan, boehner, and murkowski refuse to publicly say whether they will be voting for trump because they know endorsing him now is a political disaster waiting to happen. trump is goddamn dumpster fire.

In any case, what is the situation on the riots in America? Is it escalating? This might be something everyone should read and think on how unpredictable the future might be.

rioting has calmed down but the protests continue. many curfews have been lifted since the recent protests have been more peaceful.

This might be a good chance to bet for republican as the presidential winning party hehe. There are 4 more months before we reach November. Similar to the news from 4 months ago, we have already forgotten most of those issues.

It is a premature time to dismiss the republicans, I reckon.

With a population of 48,003 people per square mile, Macau, a special administrative region of China, is the most densely populated region on earth. Until recently, the city of about 650,000 had only recorded 10 confirmed cases of people with coronavirus, all of whom recovered and were discharged from hospital. No new infections were reported in the city for more than a month.

I reckon something similar might also be transpiring on the polling process to make it appear that the briber's candidate is trending.

The War Powers Act of 1941, also known as the First War Powers Act, was an American emergency law that increased Federal power during World War II. The act was signed by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and put into law on December 18, 1941, less than two weeks after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The act was similar to the Departmental Reorganization Act of 1917 as it was signed shortly before the U.S. engaged in a large war and increased the powers of the president's U.S. Executive Branch.

This is not a service in the cryptospace, however, the degree of cheapness of this deceit is higher hehehe. It appears Brave is not satisfied on only funneling money from the community from their ICO hehe.

The skeptical me thinks that the Europol is encouraging criminals to use Wasabi because it might be a honeypot. I have heard stories that the development team inject their own liquidity in the mixing process. It certainly will make mixing easier, however, it might also be considered similar to a sybil attack.

Help me understand, I shake my head.

Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, internally presented a two-part report on Wasabi Wallet earlier this year, primarily analyzing the wallet’s use for criminal activities.

The report went on to say that “things are not looking good,” meaning it is not easier to trace bitcoin transactions taking place via Wasabi Wallet. It is also difficult to “demix” transactions, it added.
