541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 23, 2023, 10:56:11 PM
This is my standpoint as well. If you know you are a person who lacks discipline and can easily get addicted to gambling, you should stay totally away from it. I think that there is a genetic and environmental predisposition towards gambling addiction.

Another people in this category is anyone who is already experiencing the symptoms of gambling. They should also stay away from it too.

However there are people who have been able to follow healthy gambling practices and have successfully stayed outside the perimeter of gambling addiction.
542  Economy / Economics / Re: Tim Gurner wants Unemployment to increase. Employers have lost their power. on: September 23, 2023, 10:37:59 PM
Tim Gurner is not alone in this. We have CEOs all over the counties of the world with just the same mindset about their employees. This is the reason why I encourage self-employment or the type where you are not committed to just one organization. And yes, these organizations can achieve their organizational dreams and goals without these types of staff. Employees should not be committed to an organization where the CEO is bent on making himself "fatter" while the employees labour their life's, health, happiness, relationships , dreams and career away.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hate speech and it impacts on bitcoin on: September 23, 2023, 10:22:28 PM
I don't think there is hate speech in Bitcoin or against Bitcoin. I just see it that there are people with opposing opinion which is just what it is. It cannot be classified as a hate speech in my opinion. I choose to see it people don't like Bitcoin and so their so called "hate-speech about Bitcoin is just a result of lack of understanding.

545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 21, 2023, 10:30:19 PM
Online gambling platforms exists not only to get you some lucky wins, it's also another form of entertainment,  but I will like to ask if truly you people are getting that entertainment from gambling?
Yes we do, especially the adrenaline rush when we take on a huge gambling risk. That is the fun and the entertainment that comes from it.

Quote
I believe that most people end up messing themselves up with gambling because to them everything is money, money, money, and this can stop your brain from becoming a responsible gambler, the sense of protecting yourself from gambling addiction can get lost if you are already not having fun with gambling anymore.
There should be more awareness about gambling create. More people will become gamblers and if it is not controlled we my have a pandemic on our hands to deal with. Awareness is best to sensitize the public especially the young ones who are the easiest to become gamblers.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: September 21, 2023, 10:14:44 PM
Bitcoin is getting more and more popular, and it is labeled with many different stories. I can see many people blaming Bitcoin as the cause of all the problems, but clearly the main problem is people causing them related to Bitcoin.
I know that journalist are too lazy these days to conduct thorough investigation before writing an article. Therefore, they decide to Write nonsense. Whatever altercations there was between the man and is wife has to connection with Bitcoin. It may even be that the man is dealing with anger issues and has been that hostile towards his wife. Definitely can't be Bitcoin. I don't believe them.
547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Challenges that can deprive/ delay one from hodli for long. on: September 20, 2023, 02:37:21 PM
You can add yours to it as I will stop here.
Let's discuss.
Wars and conflict can prevent an individual from hodling. If war or conflict broke out in the country in which you reside in you may be unable to hold bitcoin for a long time because of the humanitarian crisis that may arise during this time and you may be forced to sell your bitcoin to resolve it.

Natural disasters: some weeks ago the country of Turkey was hit by an earthquake. This may be one of the challenges that can deprive a person from holding bitcoin for long-term. When natural disasters strike it leaves people devastated both psychological e and financially thereby affecting their determination or ability to hold for long term.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do you think Satoshi Would Think About Today's Bitcoin? on: September 20, 2023, 02:15:28 PM
I think that Satoshi and Hal Finney would be proud. Bitcoin has come a long way since 2009. And after 14years, bitcoin is one of the top preforming assets, it has not lost its vision of decentralization, the community is growing from just a group of people talking about it on the computer over the internet to millions of people adopting it and using it to escape oppressive regimes, for personal economic purposes and all. I think that they would be proud about the speed at which we can now send bitcoin from one wallet to another as compared to the time it took the bitcoin sent during their time to get to another wallet. They would be proud of the many bitcoin security measures in place. They would be proud that individuals in the community are owning the project and speaking about it. There are some other things that they may not be so proud of like too like the saboteurs in the community, who seek to lead us astray with their manipulations and gimmicks.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Just HODL But HODL Wisely and Securely on: September 20, 2023, 01:35:06 PM
It doesn't matter if you are a hodler or not, but you have to secure your funds the right way. Even if we are not hodling, we must hold our wallet for a short period of time. Most people just leave on exchange, which is the most dangerous attempt in the crypto world lately. That's how a lot of people lose their funds. So we have to make sure our funds are secure. At this point, it's very important what wallet you have been using and how secure it is. We need to spend more time researching how to secure your bitcoin so we can handle it wisely.
Yes, correct. No matter what investment strategy an individual has chosen, the security of his crypto asset should be equally important as the person who chooses to hold.

There would always be those people who the instruction or appeal to not leave their funds in exchanges because of the inherent dangers would fall on deaf ears but there is nothing we can do than to allow them learn from personal experience which they say is the best teach.

I think that there are two ways people learn about how to secure their bitcoins; they either learn it by choice or by force. By Choice I mean they dedicate time to learning about bitcoin best security practices before any security incidence. By force, I mean they learn about how to secure their bitcoin after their wallet is hacked. So they quickly learn about it to prevent future hacks.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage your money on gambling sites. on: September 20, 2023, 01:01:11 PM
Social media is an unreal place where people lie about just about anything. And it is easy for them to get away with it because it cannot be verified. In sports gambling where naive and greedy gamblers are drawn into several signal groups by bet slips, testimonials, and others. The story always remains the same if you naively follow those people who display their winning slips on social media, you will lose. They are not genuine people. I see how they shut down people who oppose them and call out their scams. As a sports gambler it will pay you well if you do not depend on these people, try and get your game your self instead of looking to them.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: September 20, 2023, 12:01:45 PM
What is the benefits of gambling to your society?
Casinos definitely have its benefits to the society. And the first benefit is that if you have a casino is a tourist attraction area of the country, people from outside of your locality bring money into the locality when they visit and play at the casino. What does this revenue do, well the casino pays their taxes which in turn helps finance government activities which include public works and services such as roads and schools, or programs such as Social Security and Medicare.

In the society, casinos also help to create jobs for people in the society. Some of these job positions in a casino are casino dealers, slot machine attendants, cage cashiers, security personnel, bartenders, waitstaff, hosts/hostesses, slot technicians, pit bosses, floor supervisors, surveillance operators, casino managers/general managers, marketing and promotions staff, accountants and financial analysts, human resources personnel, entertainment and event coordinators, customer service representatives, housekeeping and maintenance staff, IT and technical support, compliance and regulatory staff, VIP hosts and players club representatives, restaurant chefs, and cooks.

552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 20, 2023, 11:31:57 AM
Gambling, extremely gambling that is compulsive has adverse consequences on the gambler and everything in and around him. The gambler doesn't immediately notices the damage that their compulsive gambling is causing until it is almost too late to be able to salvage the situation. Do not gamble with what you cannot afford to lose. Set aside at least 1%, at most 2% of your monthly income for gambling each month. That way, you would be able to meet your other financial responsibilities without failing and keep your relationship too. When these and other things are not adhered to it leaves a crack in the relationship and could destroy it.
553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm ready to learn crypto on: September 19, 2023, 07:12:01 PM
Someone on the forum wrote about the importance of acquiring knowledge about Bitcoin first before investing. The question which the OP.has posed to us is a reflection of that thread. The only newbies are who are not just afraid of the bear market but of the FUD are the ones without proper knowledge.

Those newbies who aren't afraid are the ones who through their knowledge have developed their a well-thought-out investment strategy, diversification, risk management, and understanding that bear market and bull market are all a part of the crypto cycle.
554  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand to start taxing overseas income next year, including from crypto on: September 19, 2023, 04:41:25 PM
Thailand is known for its tourism, and it is true that some foreigners live in their exploding tax loopholes. But this policy can create a negative impact on foreign investment and tourism. Many foreigners were happy about their low tax rates, which made them an attractive place for many expats. Most of these expats were already paying tax in their home country; now if they need to pay a high tax in Thailand as well, this will force them to leave the country.

For foreigners who include tourists and expats who are from countries where they already have a Double Tax Agreement in place, they will be exempted from this taxation rule. The reverse is the case for foreigners who not already taxed in their country.

Thailand is just taking advantage of their influx of people and not these people would move to the next location. There is no need to tax them since there is already tax on the things they buy like groceries, autos, meals at restaurants, etc. What real value does Thailand offer these foreigners that would make them say more than 180 plus days.

555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Don't Just HODL But HODL Wisely and Securely on: September 19, 2023, 02:40:12 PM
One of the most powerful words that resonates strongly among bitcoiners is the word "HODL". This word describes our undying faith in bitcoin's past, present and future potential. In the bitcoin community, there are those who have been holding for a long-term and also those who have just started hodling because they are moved by the fast approaching halving event in 2024. As we are holding bitcoin we should be vigilant because hackers and scammers tirelessly seek opportunities and loopholes to steal your bitcoin. Therefore, it is not enough to hold but HODL WISELY.

There are more than one thousand ways to HODL bitcoin. In fact, as of 2022 there were about 2,790 Bitcoin-related applications are available on the Google Play Store while Apple Store had about 651 such apps. To add to this there are 288 hardware wallets and 44 bearer tokens in circulation, all of there telling you that they are able to secure your bitcoin holdings

Don't just hold but hodl wisely and securely.

This topic is inspired by the responses I received in this thread - How Do I Verify the Integrity of Open-Source Code.

556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free spins are also a demo in disguise? on: September 19, 2023, 01:17:28 PM
Are free slots even real?
Free spins are real. And they are used by online casinos to attract new customers. You can win win real money from them too. And their outcomes largely depends on luck just with the regular spins. Whenever an online casino offers me a free spin or any other incentives that I didn't exchange money for, I do not get too excited or comfortable with it. I do not take it as seriously as I do with other spins.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: September 19, 2023, 12:51:08 PM
Although only few people got involved in thispoll, but with more people that comment, most of us on this forum are gambling responsibly.

Weekly gambling budget is good. I think it should not be more than 5% of your weekly income. If you gamble with just 5% out of 100%, I think that is a responsible gambling.

To avoid gambling addiction, it starts from using little budget.

In the past one may be gambling with reckless abandon but right now, that would be a stupid thing to do.

Every gambler must who desires to be successful must be intentional about it. Their approach and attitude towards gambling should not be governed by spontaneity but by a well-thought out strategy which would include creating a budget, having an spreadsheet to record how much they spend on gambling and other healthy habits that would help protect the finances of the gambler.
558  Economy / Economics / Re: Tim Gurner wants Unemployment to increase. Employers have lost their power. on: September 18, 2023, 07:26:11 AM
Tim Gurner is a capitalist. He is one of the people who should be used to cite example of how bad capitalism is. Imagine if there were no labor unions, this man would literally work his employees to death because he wants them to bring him money.

This is exactly how those financial elites think, all they dream and scheme about is how to increase the desperation level of the workers. They make their employees suffer to exist in a multi-trillion dollar economy.
559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Honest question, what to think about “crypto” affiliates or influencers? on: September 18, 2023, 06:26:14 AM
Does this mean that if you see any YouTuber or crypto “celebrity” pumping a product or trying to make a buck out of content, that you should run away from them?
Most of the opinions from these crypto influencers are not reliable because they don't have the years of experience in the space to be able to give any sound advice. That is why you often find them repeating what most analysts are saying and some are creating hype to pump and dump. Once in a blue moon, they may drop some solid advice but still, be cautious and do your own research very well before taking their advice. Those who didn't have lost a fortune.

560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 18, 2023, 06:03:16 AM
AS Roma have amazing performance last night after winning over 7-0 from Empoli, its good recovery after have poor performance in last three matches and winning with bigger score will make AS Roma over confidence upcoming match in domestic league and Europe League. Special performance with Romelu Lukaku success opening first goals for AS Roma and he answers Roma fans have believing and give opportunity for him. Success got three points against Empoli make AS Roma move few position above after have been in relegated standings position before and right now move up until 12th standings placed.
Easy win because it was a one-sided match in favor Roma. Empoli needs to change their defensive players and their goal keeper. The two players that stood out in the match for me were, Renato Sanchez, and Cristante. The duo of Lukaku and Dybala showed promise in the match, I believe that they could pose a threat to even stronger opponents. Well this an important win for the team as it has boosted their confidence. In future games, we would like to see a more stable performance from them.
