542  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BTCGarden AM V1 Setup [HD] on: September 21, 2014, 06:19:36 AM
the Ethernet port doesn't connect - doesn't show up as an IP address to go to.  the boot (firmware) doesn't complete the USB setup processes.

You must use BTCGarden's supplied image. Assuming you are, all you should need to do is hook the rpi up to your network and navigate to http://192.168.1.123 in your web browser. The only reason you wouldn't be able to connect to the RPi is if you are using a different subnet or there is something wrong with your pi. This needs to be addressed before you even turn on your V1.

typo

you can use 5V or 12V
but amperage must be at least 12W so 5V 2.5A or 12V 1A

Can one use 12v 2A?  Or just stick with 12v 1A?

essentially, will this work:  http://www.amazon.com/Amamax-Wall-Adapter-Power-Supply/dp/B006GEPUYA/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1411076631&sr=1-6&keywords=12v+power+supply

A device will only pull what is required. 2a is your maximum, so there is nothing wrong with using 2a adapter, as long as the barrel connector is the right size.

Lightweight C based pool software, and open source! I'm really excited about this project and interested to see where it's going. Great work!

Rockxie says they are going to update to the latest cgminer release.

That is good news. There were some major changes to the icarus drivers in 4.3.4, which would explain why it has taken so long to get integrated into the latest build.

Price drop on BTCGarden X2 units. $299.99

good price for 600gh

what are they to ship to  07731?

and do they come with a rasp pi or do they run with the r-box rasp pi?

You'll have to estimate shipping through the website.

1 RPi can control 2 X2 units, or 8 boards. Rockminer and BTCGarden both use customized versions of cgminer 4.3.3, but the source code for BTCGarden is not available. You could place a rockminer cgminer build on a BTCGarden image, but you'll need need to run 2 instances of cgminer to control your rockminer and BTCGarden devices. I'm not sure how stable that would be but it's worth a shot.

...
i haven't seen a good description of how to run the raspberry pi off a breakout board yet. so i keep it under its own power using an ac adapter. same with the powered hub.
...

If you are using Rockminer's breakout board, it comes with a connector made specifically for powering the RPi off of their breakout board. If you are using the Black Arrow breakout board, it has 2 5v outs. What I've done with my controller is strip one side of a usb mini cable, and screw the red wire into the positive terminal and black wire into the negative on the BA board.

I'm running a raspberry Pi model B+ with my 5 smaller R-boxes ( 32 - 37 gh/s ) and the Minepeon Software.  Has anyone tried running the new R-box with the old R-box ?

with my current set up i can add 2 of these new ones. So was curious if they'll work together.

I haven't tried it yet, but I don't foresee any issues, as long as you run all units at a max of 290 clock freq.

ahh ok. yeah i have never overclocked them.  So i might be better off just selling them as time goes on and replace them all with just the new ones. I dont like overclocking that stuff. then i'll have to use more power, and it shortens thier life expectancy.

the new r-boxes (2 of them) using top of the line seasonic platinum psu are doing about 258gh and 269 watts at freq 350. just over 1 watt a gh

I am going to down clock and test power at freq 320 .

A question to crazyguy

I am going to order 2 or 3 more today from your ebay advert > I have a 10% ebay coupon.  I think I can get them with a total discount of 13%. This makes them a little better price on ebay for me then from your store

the question is  will 5 run on your Rpi software that you sent to me? Or should I stick with 4

I haven't tested it yet, my 6 unit test was on a windows machine but I was using a smaller power supply when I tested 4 on the Pi. Rockminer has instructed me to give out a free RPi with every order of 8 units, so I'm assuming the Rpi can support at least 8.  If not, we can work out something on another pi.

Introducing "A Sick Controller". Fully customizable mining controller using mstrongbow's dual Rpi/Blackarrow breakout board case. I've run 6 New Rbox units off of the breakout board without issue. Wifi option also available!

Build your own @ ASICPuppy.net.

I had some time to play around with the new RBox units this weekend and they are very cool!

6 Units on one breakout board hashing over 700 gh/s. This is combined with a lepa 1375 watt PSU. Might not be practical but it can be done....

4 Units hashing at 487gh/s on a Wifi RPi. Notice the sweet case in the middle. Thanks mstrongbow!

Rockminer's Rpi image running off a wifi RPi with 4 units!

can you post a picture with packaging of assembled miners?
are they safe to throw?
do they have thermal pads attached?
what is fan position and where are ivory washers placed?

i am wandering should i order assembled or not Smiley

Here's how they ship fully assembled. I've got a few left for those looking to order under 10 units. Free jumper switches through Sunday.

It is fairly quiet.  Not quite as quiet at the R-Box but still nice and low.

Thanks!  Are you running it with BFG or CGminer?  I'm wondering if it works with the same driver as the previous generation did...

B

Same driver. I've updated our Windows installer for those interested in a quick and easy method of deploying your New R-boxes. The installer includes zadig and a Windows build of Rockminer's latest customized cgminer.

Sounds more like the power supply does not handle it. 750 watt is hard on the limit.

I agree. You can test 3 blades at once as well, but sounds like you are pushing that particular PSU beyond its limits.

Also, for those receiving their units today, I've been informed by Rockminer that the RKBOX cgminer build should work. I will be packaging my own stripped down Windows build and providing a Windows installer package tonight.
Will this be on the sales site? Any chance you could try a BFG Miner build for windows?

Yes, I'll link it from the product page. I can also try bfgminer but I haven't been following their development, so I'm unsure if luke-jr added further support beyond the original r-box.
560  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 11, 2014, 05:35:52 PM
I've still got a bunch of molex to 4pin cables left over, PM me if you need a few. Also, note that if you are using the 4 pin connectors on a blade and utilizing the back plane as a stand, make sure you have all 4 pin connectors attached before starting your PSU. If you only have one unit connected, power will be distributed from that unit to the rest of the board since they are all on the same circuit.
