So this is just like a corrupt organisation where nobody voted for them?
562  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Overview of Signature-Ad Campaigns on: February 19, 2014, 08:26:14 PM
Not that it's any of my business, but why don't you use a signature service yourself?
Do you want to stay neutral as the TS of this topic?

Somebody asked him before in this thread I think.

Is God an atheist or maybe an agnostic?
564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Creative and "cool" ways to store coins? on: February 19, 2014, 04:53:43 PM
Shave it into your pubes.

Seriously though I'd worry about finding a safe way to store them as opposed to a cool way.

566  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 17, 2014, 08:32:24 PM
Wolf of Wall Street is a must seeing , to people of this world : economics  , bitcoin etc... , really amazing.

I hate that all of these movies end in a bad way I guess.. :/ but it how it should be.. There is no such thing as easy life. But still MOVIE WAS GREAT. I liked the ending best.

It seems like it is a trend right now in hollywood to have the movies either have open endings or unhappy endings

What ones have unhappy endings? I don't mind ones that are open to interpretation, as long as they don't confuse the shit out of you.

Let me revise that statement, and I will have to think about some of them to list them here (as I don't have the titles off the top of my head).   Many of the films that I was talking about were the ones that got a lot of hype at the Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals and as a result made it mainstream into theaters..

What about Inception?
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enjoy? on: February 17, 2014, 08:28:21 PM
I haven't read the entire thread, but my thoughts on this is that whoever this person is they are trying to bring crypto's to the forefront of folks that might not think of this as real money and using this as a way to change their minds.

Whoever this is, I applaud them in a creative effort in trying to "spread the word" of crypto-currency.  Smiley

By creating transactions that will never confirm and cause confusion than amongst newer users? I'm sure there must be better ways.  Tongue

If this person really wanted to spread the word of crypto-currency, he should have started giving out amounts that people can use.  Grin

Then that would be quite costly to him. It's literally just free advertising for him.

Fully confirm or just get their first few confirmations?

I don't understand the question.

What does the phrase "fully confirm" mean?

Ie you can spend them.
571  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has anyone rolled a joint/blunt out of a $50 bill on: February 14, 2014, 06:47:49 PM
Why don't you try it and report back?
hahaha you right my friend   Tongue

i guess the green fibers contain traces of other goodies (like cocaine) too.  so i might be in for one hell of a high!

now i have to write an IOU note to the government for lost $50 ($100 plus the restocking fee)

You'd probably cough a lung up or get a pretty bad headache if you tried it.
572  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-14] Bitstamp is Back: Will Resume BTC Withdrawals Soon on: February 14, 2014, 06:47:07 PM

Gox is also apparently soon according to Andreas's twitter.

He likes to make a new thread every time something crosses his mind.

I think you might be right. Seems a common occurrence around here lately.

1. "malleability" bug that they haven't bothered to do the workaround for in their coding.

This only affected a few exchanges.

576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock getting close $1million sales in bitcoin on: February 14, 2014, 06:24:15 PM
But bitcoin have droped almost 20% in this month

Since they exchange immediately for fiat, it doesn't scare them that much..

The more stable btc value will be the more people are going to spend em instead of keeping em hoping they will increase in value.  Stabilized value will actually be good for widespread adoption.

True, but I don;t think it will fully stabilise for a very long time. You might have periods where it seems quite stable, but will then surge or plummet depending on some news.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The day Bitcoin is "regulated" is the day we lose our freedom on: February 14, 2014, 06:22:32 PM
I believe NYC just announced that they will require "Bit Licenses" for any merchant dealing with bitcoin... I mean, seriously? Fuck that. Bye bye any sort of innovation in New York. They're just shooting themselves in the foot.

Depends how hard or costly these "Bit Licenses" are. Any information on them?
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is failing in replacing fiat in physical shops on: February 14, 2014, 06:20:45 PM
A lot of altcoins can confirm in 30 seconds.

So why is bitcoins confirmation at 10 minutes?

Is a 10 minute confirmation a good thing or bad?

Is it possible for bitcoins confirmation time to be sped up?

Which coins are fully confirmed in 30 seconds?

Supposedly quark.

But fastcoin and goldcoin seemed to confirm quickly for me.

Fully confirm or just get their first few confirmations?
579  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014-02-14 BREAKING: Mark Karpeles posts to say MtGox is implementing a solution on: February 14, 2014, 06:18:27 PM
Gox is dead, Mark just doesn't know it yet.

I'm sure he already does know. I can't see how he can pull his business back from this. Why would people go back to gox once they've got their money out of there?
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In simple terms, why are BTC and LTC prices so closely tied? on: February 14, 2014, 06:16:31 PM
because there aren't many exchanges that deal directly from fiat to LTC. there are many more exchanges that deal with fiat to BTC, so that's why you see generally see similar price fluctuations with the other alt coins as well.

You can usually only buy LTC for BTC and when Bitcoin's prices rise a lot of other currencies follow it a little, LTC being one of them.
