561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge orders Craig Wright to pay over $1M on: December 23, 2023, 10:46:31 PM
I say he's got what's going for him lol. The guy's been at it for years now trying to prove that he's Satoshi Nakamoto when even the guys who took after the main man's work could prove he's not him. Plus from the get-go his statements don't add up to anything conclusive as well, it's as if every single time he makes an attempt to prove himself to be Satoshi Nakamoto he only ends up making himself look like a complete buffoon to the whole public, this one's no exception either.

Why is this person trying so hard to prove that he's Satoshi Nakamoto?

Cause he thinks he can leverage being known as the creator of bitcoin for his personal gain, just like the countless others who made an attempt to prove that they are him (pun intended). Craig's been known by many as a fraud in this industry, even whistleblowers like Edward Snowden thinks so too. So yeah, aside from the insurmountable amount of fame and acclaim that he may get from being proven to be Satoshi Nakamoto, he also wants the moolah that will inadvertently come with it.

Also at this point I feel like he's fallen victim to his own sunk cost fallacy. He's in too deep into the fight to prove that he's Satoshi that he thinks there's no other way to do this but forward, when he can just quit and save face and we wouldn't even notice.
562  Other / Meta / Re: To login I had to go thru over 50 captcha is this normal? on: December 23, 2023, 10:09:11 PM
That's probably caused by a disconnect between the bitcointalk server and your connection. I have experienced that myself when I was still a jit doing all these stuff on a computer shop in the past, and with shared connections there are instances where sites won't load up as fast, which causes the same issues that you've mentioned. If you're using a private connection something like a home or office internet connection perhaps try power cycling your router and it should do the trick if the connection is reset and you get your supposed to be MBPS back. If in any case it doesn't, perhaps check if other browsers experience the same issues, try using Opera GX, Mozilla Firefox, or Brave Browser and see if you're still experiencing the same 50 captcha problems.

Lastly, if you're still experiencing the issue, try flushing your DNS and your connection. If you're on Windows 10, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the desktop. (From Home, tap or click the Desktop tile).
  • Right-click the Start button (the Windows logo in the lower-left).
  • Choose Command Prompt and run as administrator.
When asked whether to allow Command Prompt to make changes to your computer, select Yes.
  • Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.
  • Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press Enter.
  • Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.
  • Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.
  • Type "netsh winsock reset" and press Enter.
  • Restart the computer.

Or you can just use a captcha bypasser. LOL
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing bitcoin to the orphans on my birthday on: December 22, 2023, 11:53:01 PM
Ever since I joined this forum, I have read so many topics of forum members introducing bitcoin to people around them for the fast growth of bitcoin adoption. I saw that there are some people that are missing from this great innovation and this set of people can be the leaders of tomorrow, and this are the orphans in the orphanage homes. This kept me wondering that how will these orphans also have bitcoin knowledge and maybe they can also be part of the bitcoin community in future. If they know the basic of bitcoin from now, as time passes on they might pick interest to know more about bitcoin, since bitcoin will soon be the talk of the town everywhere you go.

I went on charity work to the Diasy orphanage home in my LGA today which happens to be my birthday to present them with gifts and food items, and I  used this opportunity to introduce bitcoin to them, telling them that all I brought to them was gotten through bitcoin. Today is my first time to celebrate my birthday with orphans and as you can see I am in Diasy orphanage home to put smiles on the face of the orphans because this is the season to show love to people around us. I have introduced bitcoin to these lovely children after I presented the gifts to them. Mrs Inita Amaduwgu is the owner of the orphanage home and she was happy with the introduction of bitcoin to the orphans and her workers. She said that she will create time for me to come back and teach her workers, when the children have gone to school, so that they can also teach the children at their own convenient time. I gave gave them a cartoon video on bitcoin so that the younger children will not be left out.

I feel very excited and have this joy in me for what I did today, and I said let me share it with you all. I thank the Almighty God for giving me the grace be plus one today.
My thanks goes to julierz12 and [banned mixer] team for giving me the opportunity to work with them, because it was the money from my signature campaign that I used to buy those gifts. I also give thanks to all forum members who have motivated me in one way or the other.

I wish you all a merry Xmas and a Happy New year in advance.

These are some of the things that I appreciate the most about this forum. We never stop to find ways to introduce bitcoin to people and at the same time show them that it's for everyone, even for those who started from nothing literally. As what Cryptovator said you did a double good-job this day by not only helping people out entirely out of good will and nothing else, while also at the same time introducing the people to cryptocurrencies and bitcoins at the same time.

I hope you enjoyed your birthday and keep the great work. As someone who is a volunteer for a while as well it definitely is addicting to help other people out and you might see yourself doing this every year from now on, so you might as well budget it out lol. But kiddings aside really, good job my friend. With a looming bull run ahead of us I can only see you helping more people in more ways than you are able to do so by now, and in that regard I guess I can speak for everyone in this forum when I say we'll observe your development with great interest.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You will burn on: December 22, 2023, 11:39:07 PM
The thing is that you can't stop people from investing on whatever coin they want. No amount of threatening them that their investments will go to gutter will work if they can see immediate results. What you can instead do is inform them that there are perks to investing in shitcoins and there are even greater benefits to investing in bitcoin. You don't have to put down one to highlight the other mind you.

For instance, you can emphasize the fact that since shitcoins give immediate gains in some situations, users can use them to earn money quickly and enjoy perks given by the project for the meantime, while you slowly deposit some of your profits into bitcoin and other reputable currencies so you can save their valuation and to earn on a consistent and safe basis. This will ensure that the user gets the best of both things, and at the same time relinquishes the heuristic that "bitcoin is the only good coin in the crypto industry so why are we even bothering ourselves with other currencies like Ethereum or whatever" which is especially dangerous to the future of the industry. Bitcoin is king yes, but without its subjects to rule and be on top of it's not gonna be worth anything.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 22, 2023, 11:01:27 PM
Today I will share a real incident. An elder brother of my area who has been working in Bangladesh Army for 8 years. We have walked with him enough since childhood and played many sports together but we never saw any such habit in him. He used to serve in the army and used to come home when he got leave and we used to hang out with him but recently we heard some bad news about his affairs through his younger brother. There are various online casinos in which he gambled and ended up in debt of around $18,000. Already his father is a middle-class family member and his father works hard enough to get him a job and manage his money by borrowing heavily but by this time he is 18 thousand dollars in debt due to gambling. Not only did he lose $18,000 by gambling, but he ended up with eighteen thousand dollars in debt, and he also lost money by gambling out of his salary.

If the person I am referring to had not gambled in online casinos and invested this amount of money in bitcoins, he would have made a substantial half profit today, even after paying off his debts.  If he had bought 1 BTC and sold it now when the price of Bitcoin was twenty thousand dollars, he would have made a profit of about 25K dollars even though he had paid a loan of 18K dollars. The reason for sharing this incident of my local elder brother is to warn users about the dangers of gambling.

I don't owe you $18K so we may not understand it but the one I shared with understands how heavy the burden of debt is.
This is like comparing apples to oranges honestly, but I can see the reason why a comparison such as this must be made. The thing is that people will oftentimes use gambling as a means to pass the time only for it to spiral out of control eventually cause now they can't control their urges and they have to get that one more win before they can quit. This is problematic and is the cause for many people succumbing to gambling addiction which I guess was the case for this elder brother you're talking about prior to him being in debt.

On the other hand trading gives you more agency and sometimes it can also give you the same effect as would gambling addiction. Only difference is that it takes a lot more effort and work to actually succeed as a trader and over time, if you keep at it your propensity for bigger wins increases which is not the same for gambling. No one should think of gambling as a means to earn money, if you want to pass the time and you're not sure if gambling's the right game for you look into other ways to relax and unwind and don't subject yourself to even more problems.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing its P2P efficiency!! on: December 22, 2023, 10:43:59 PM
One or the Most significant reasons for the creation of Bitcoin was,to create a currency easy and suitable to be used for peer-to-peer transactions.
During the first eight to nine years of its launch, Bitcoin actually achieved this goal, With fees considerably low as just a few cents. However things began to change at about early 2016 when fees began to increase noticably, and during late 2017 when the mempool started having congestions, which influenced transaction fees directly.

Of course, One can say the reason for the very low fees during its earliest stages was a result of low adoption and a less congested mempool. We can also confirm that due to the problems of competition for block spaces which led to high fees, Bitcoin's block size was increased on August 24, 2017 by the application of the SEGWIT protocol upgrade known as "Segregated witness" in full. This definitely helped in malleability of transactions by separating the signature data (withness data) from the transaction data to free up block space.

Other solutions like the layer 2 that became popular during 2018,also helped reduce congestions and fees by conducting majority of transactions off the Blockchain making transactions more scalable and faster.

However, upon these upgrades and solutions, as Bitcoin grew the congestion problem has  become more and more prominent especially due to the effects of ordinals in recent times. These congestion and fee problems are gradually exempting the need to make simple day to day transactions with Bitcoin thereby bring the need for people to make small transactions with other stable altcoins like Tron and Doge.

Take for example this post made by Hhampuz who is one of the most reputable campaign managers on Bitcoin talk.
In that post Hhampuz made mention of spending roughly $200 /week on fees for each campaign. Now assuming Hhampuz managess 5 campaigns for 15 weeks, taking the math he would have spent an enormous amount of about $15,000 (~0.34BTC) on fees only. Considering these enormous fees P2P transactions would become  uneconomical.
Quite true. I think it's time we talk about how we want bitcoin to be regarded of once again, even if it brings about another blocksize war. The fact of the matter is that, even if bitcoin were to be successful in being a store of value and being an investment tool you can use to make yourself wealthy, people will still talk about the good old days and how it was once a great way for you to transfer money to another person without paying too much as a few cents. Furthermore, it also hampers with the tradability of bitcoin as you're either forced to wait until bitcoin's network's not congested (which happens like never nowadays) or you have to shoulder the 10-50 dollar transaction fee just so you can transfer money to and fro different networks. It's quite distressing and in some cases it even makes fiat money remittance more appealing cause at the very least when you send money to Western Union you don't get charged 100 bucks in a single transaction.

Scalability is going to be a problem if we don't do anything right now. Layer 2 is great but is there really anyone in here who'd willingly go out of their own way to use the Lightning Network which mind you isn't as efficient as they make it out to be?
567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do casino owners benefit from creating multiple casinos? on: December 22, 2023, 10:15:19 PM
First off, it eliminates competition. The thing is some casino owners buy off IPs and brands from their competitors and absorb them into their conglomeration to earn their revenue and their customers. Sometimes they will deliberately worsen the situation and features of said casino they bought to highlight the main brands they own and pool all of those customers from competitors into theirs, just in case their competitor decided to launch a new IP with the same features and benefits. It's called corporate warfare and it happens all the time not only in the casino business but practically everywhere else. Some casinos fall victim to this and deliberately do so because of lack of proper funding, an unsustainable business model that bleeds them money more than it makes them, or something else entirely.

It also creates the illusion of choice to the customer's eyes. They may not favor one casino name because of their bad experience, but if they have multiple IPs under the same entity at the end of the day it will end up in the same man's pockets without the customer knowing anything about it.
568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 21, 2023, 11:54:31 PM
For better or for worse gambling will definitely affect you mood and behavior. I've seen the most common example being that people are more neurotic and hasty with their decisions, sometimes even hysterical just cause they couldn't for the life of them not let gambling rule their lives. On the other hand I've seen people become more responsible with their money, with some even being able to set up spending allocations and budgets as well as financial planning which they got from gambling.

Gambling can change you. but don't let it be for the worse. We have enough people in the looney bins already, make sure you don't become one of them.
The remark that "For better or for worse gambling will definitely affect your mood and behaviour" is not always applicable as you quoted it, it depends on the gambler, his plan for gambling and the mindset at which he is gambling as well. For me, I always say it's relative because, for example, I don't feel a single thing when I gamble with casinos. Do you know why? It's because I don't ever believe that I can make big money from it. So, this mindset has been helping me for so long and has helped me to prepare my mind and my budget for casinos accurately without mixed psychological feelings. Nowadays, I bet with a very low amount of money with casinos, this is because my mind has been resolved on the fun part that I can derive from it, but not money.

This is why I am convinced and I say it practically that I feel nothing about casino betting. I just don't have a better feeling for the money made and a worse feeling for the money lost as you put it. But for my sportsbook betting, yes, I must say that it often affects my emotions a bit, it's a bit because I mostly gain in it, though I do not bet anyhow, I carefully select my games and I do not put my mind in the result no matter what the outcome states. Maybe that is why it doesn't affect me, and I implore everyone to do the same. The better part is that I do not bet huge money on regular matches but only on crucial matches like the matches that decide the final. UCL final is an example. So, people should try to tame their feelings as much as they can, it's possible, it's about planning and discipline and how they can control their feelings and bet reasonably.
You literally just fleshed out what I meant. For better or for worse is relative to what the gambler has in mind at the very moment he made that gamble. You see what I mean? People gamble with an ulterior motive, you don't just gamble out of nowhere for no reason at all. That itself will determine whether you're bound to be a gambling addict, a neurotic one at that mind you, or a responsible gambler who knows what their limits are and what they can and cannot bet on.

I mean it's on you if you don't feel anything from the money you got from casinos and gambling, I myself share the same feelings but only cause I know that besides the fact that it is money I know wouldn't last me a long while, it came out of someone else's pockets too. As for your sportsbooks betting, and I'm saying this with the premise in my head being you also watch and are a fan of the games you place a bet on, you're probably mixing the feelings of winning/losing the bet, with the feelings of your favorite team or just the team you're rooting for in particular being in the winning or losing side. And even that is an indicative of what I just said.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local Base Or International Based Online Casino on: December 21, 2023, 11:28:41 PM
Honestly, both sound like good options especially if we're tallying benefits. For one international casinos are more often more successful than local casinos, with larger prize pools and jackpots, and of course a more trusted system that reels in more players from all across the planet. On the other hand, it's way easy to trust local casinos cause they are there, they will have to abide by the local ordinances and laws placed upon those with businesses related to gambling, and should things go south, you can file a complaint easily to them, or bring them straight to court which would be difficult if you're tackling with an international casino. There's levels to it honestly and to just pick favorites willy-nilly will be hard, at least for me.

All in all, it all depends upon the user really, I personally want to deal with international casinos more than local ones just cause I find them more appealing visually and more generous when it comes to rewards. Local casinos have their appeal too and I find myself betting on some of them in the past especially since a lot of them offer local games that you couldn't find in casinos who cater to international members.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 21, 2023, 10:58:19 PM
Definitely gonna spend less, might even not gamble at all cause it's going to be very busy for me this coming holidays. Lots of family and relatives coming over for christmas and they're expected to stay here up until the New Year's Eve, so I gotta prepare. Not to mention the fact that I'd be busy with work too so there's that.

To some people who have it easy and might have extra pocket change lying around they might spend more this coming holidays on gambling than usual, to me it's fine and dandy as long as they know how to limit themselves. It's kind of annoying at this point to hear about stories where people went overboard with their gambling sprees, to the point that they ruined christmas for themsleves and their family members who are waiting for them to arrive, and not to mention the amount of money you'd lose within this period too sheesh.

For most of us I'd just say we save as much money as we can for the upcoming year, take this time to actually relax and touch grass, meet with friends, family and loved ones who matter the most to you. Don't let this time go to waste by spending it cramped and slouched inside your room betting on slots or whatever the fuck.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 21, 2023, 10:30:39 PM
Between drugs and gambling, which one do you think is more addicting than the other? I have a good reason for asking this question, because there is something I saw not too long and I am doubting if anyone have seen the same thing, I am from a place where crack heads ( drugs addicts ) and also gambling addicts are all around, here is what I've seen.

I have seen crack heads more than responsible with there cash, than gambling addicts, this is what make me to ask you guys this question, drug junks are more responsible than gamblers, I have seen a gambling addict who spend 200 grand in under one and half hour on gambling, I've never seen a crack head done such before, not even on drugs.

I have seen a crack head who changed and when we had some chats he thank God in front of me, saying he is thankful that is addiction was on drugs and not gambling, he sounds so scary of getting addicted to gambling as he confirmed that gambling seems so much harder to quit.

He went on and say something about his friend who use 15 years on gambling and the friend isn't really sure how he will stop and the friend said that if he didn't stop it will kill him sooner or later, like he knew the danger lurking but he doesn't know how to stop, he isn't sure he will get better. The friend started telling him how the world will be better off without him, that's when they started locking him up, and the battle to change him when on for four years straight before he died from strange illness.

I was so scared with this story and It affected me for a while, I stopped gambling for a week because of what I heard from this man, his appearance is that of someone you won't want to listen to but what he went through is so eye opening that if other addicted gamblers hear from him it could change them, gambling addiction is really scary.

That is not true at all and it is a super distant mistake as some people say.I know drug addicts who have given their wife, mother, sister for sex just to buy drugs and while gamblers also the most addicted of all have given their wives in extreme cases I don't know any case where they have given the sister or mother to do just that, this as the best analogy to make it clear that there are no worse people on the planet than drug addicts and comparing gamblers to them I took it as a heavy personal offense as I am also a gambler although not addicted.

Crack heads are never ever more responsible than gamblers, they sell their house, threat people for money and also the above things which are the worse.
True. Pretty much a fabricated story to make it seem as though gambling addicts have it worse than those who are under the influence of mind-numbing drugs which I can't really speak much about since for one, I'm not an addict, and I don't have a degree in psychology that would be vital in determining which one's worse. But yeah, posts like these make it seem as though it's going to be better if you just got addicted to crack than if you would've been a gambling addict, which couldn't be true.

You don't need to compare apples to oranges OP, crackheads are a different breed of addicts and they can't be compared to those with gambling addictions, since their attachment to their addiction's more on the chemical side which is hard to relinquish. I say next time, post more meaningful and honest takes rather than making one community look worse than they really are, especially when you're comparing one evil to another which is the case for your "crackhead vs gambling addict discussion or whatever"
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 21, 2023, 09:57:57 PM
It does but at the same time I think for different reasons from other gamblers. Other people see match fixing as a negative thing since it makes them lose bets that they otherwise would've won but personally, I'm just more concerned about the integrity of the game. When you deliberately tip the scales in your favor, especially in sports like football or basketball, you're literally tarnishing the main purpose as to why these games are played—to show prowess and to find out who's the greatest athlete for that particular sport.

It ruins the vibe and takes the fun out of playing and watching games like these. Can you imagine how boring it would be if everything you've been watching on the TV, especially reality shows and game shows for that matter, are nothing but staged and scripted? It makes you lose interest in that game, and eventually not only you would feel that way but everyone else who's a fan of that particular show, which leads to massive decline and eventually, the death of the franchise.

I've seen leagues fail because of corruption within their respective systems, so it's no surprise that people will be so concerned about match fixing.
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your view on this? Is it fun or addiction? on: December 20, 2023, 11:39:40 PM
I can't tell. you need to provide more context such as posting a part of the conversation prior to this message. To me this looks like nothing but outright sarcasm and poking fun at the "99% of gamblers quit before getting their jackpots" which is of course a massive meme but certainly something that a gambler would find themselves believing in. On the other hand something tells me that they mean it truly cause at the end of the day, you guys are not only getting wins from the bets you make, you are also getting data subscription as you said, which to them may mean as something that would act as a consolation prize should they lose too much in the previous gambling rendezvous you had.

I myself wouldn't send something like that unless I'm with my closest friends, wouldn't want to rouse suspicion or make people think that I am an addicted gambler. I wouldn't want to improperly inspire an already addicted gambler to go further into the deep end cause as I said earlier, absurd as it is there are people who will fall for this shit and believe it with their heart. So yeah, since you're part of the conversation, what are your inferences? Do they mean it? What kind of person are they in real life? Are they someone you would think would fall for gambling addiction or something along those lines? These questions needed to be answered.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: December 20, 2023, 11:01:48 PM
Yeah, I personally feel that slot games are a complete waste of time and money most of the time, I got this bonus from btcgosu's partnership with BetFury which awarded me a 77 free spins.

Bonus is still available for anyone to claim on https://www.btcgosu.com/blog/news/unleash-the-black-friday-magic-get-77-free-spins-with-code-gosu77-at-betfury/

I played slot game with the free spin and ended up with a total win of $16, but also hammered with a wager requirement of about $750 before I did be able to withdraw.

I continued playing slot with the $16, and soon, I had up to $55 in total amount won, I was really happy and hopeful that before I did lose all $55, I would have won much to enable me complete the wager requirement and possibly walk out in profit.

But unfortunately, I ended up losing the entire $55 dollar while I still had about $582 dollar in wager requirement, I am not confident enough to deposit and continue chasing, so I'm giving up.

I've never been lucky with slot games, never, and I am not pleased about it to be honest.
What about you?
I mean, slot games from the get-go are made to take money off of your hands without you knowing. Plus unless you're a godlike player with insane luck strats that you can even beat the rigged system operating inside the slot machine, you're never going to achieve that 750 bucks wager requirement with a measly 16 dollars. You're always meant to deposit money and then lose it all, hence why they gave out this promotion anyway. Only problem I have with what you're talking about is that you're speaking from a place of looking at gambling as a way to turn a profit. Which is fine I guess to some degree but you gotta know at some point that it was the case in the past and it will always be the case for any type of game, be it slot or cards. If you're not finding any luck in slots and it's starting to wear out your patience, might as well look for other ways you can gamble, that way you're not forced to revenge gamble and then eventually lose your initial wager along with everything you own in the process as you slowly spiral down into gambling addiction. Which I must say isn't the best thing out there my friend. Try to gamble with the idea that you're going to lose this money anyway, might as well enjoy every single moment of it and not focus on actually earning since that's what causes you to think as if the slot machine owes you shit.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Michael Jordan a gambling addict ? on: December 20, 2023, 10:20:15 PM
The thing is that it doesn't have to end up with you losing everything you love and own for you to realize that you have a gambling problem, or you're already a gambling addict. Certain celebrities like MJ and Drake himself have been making ludicrous bets on a regular basis, which if they did without a strong financial foundation and a reputation of being "too big to fail at this point", they'd probably lose out. MJ even had speculations in the past of being banned by the NBA in the past due to his gambling addiction, covering it up as a retirement to make it seem as though their most recognizable player's not really in some deep gambling issues. He's been known to make stupid bets and lose it all on a night, only to go back the next day and bet it all again to lose the money in what can only be described as a cycle of losing money and finding it someplace else in the form of the Nike Jordan collaboration and some businesses he had.

MJ's good and all, greatest even if I do say so myself. But his gambling addiction is something to not scoff at. If a regular person does what he does (of course in their own way) you'd be concerned and have them stop before their gambling addiction worsened, but because it's Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest athlete of all time, we have to have this kind of discussion lol.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 19, 2023, 11:55:55 PM
I find this very frustrating when i see people complain about their funding bank/provider account being banned because of gambling related activities. My younger just called me and told me his raven account was banned and he has been using it to deposit dollars in his gambling platform and also paying for subscriptions online. I want to get this clear.

Is it because of the gambling activities that got his account banned or it is because of the legitimacy of the funds that raven are more concerned about?
Are you talking about this Raven https://getravenbank.com/ ?

I look at their terms and conditions but it's not specifically mentioned that account will be banned if used in gambling. It did say this "we reserve the right to block and/or restrict your Raven Account on suspicion of illegal/fraudulent activities" so I checked the gambling situation in Nigeria. It seems only lottery, land-based casino gaming, and sports betting are allowed. Online games other than slots are deemed illegal. He must have deposited to an unregistered or online casino.
That's your answer right there. Online gambling is not explicitly included in the bylaws that talk about legal gambling. And OP's kid just made the mistake of gambling in a gambling site which is considered illegal no matter how we look at it. the banking institution's not in the position to keep his business since that's going to cause them millions of dollars in lawsuits if they let this one thing pass. I say don't gamble beyond what's allowed. There's no real benefit to doing so anyway, since gambling's made in the first place with the premise that you're going to lose money, are you really that determined to lose your money that you're willing to get your bank account suspended? If you can't wrap your head around the logic behind gambling illegally just use that analogy lol.

At the end of the day, we're gamblers, not criminals. Don't do anything illegal, gambling or non-gambling related. Gamble within your means and within the expanse that your local jurisdiction allows. Tell that to your kid OP and next time, discourage him/her from gambling on such sites, heck discourage him/her from gambling at all clearly they have a problem for them to get noticed by the bank amongst the possible hundred thousands of users that they deal with on the daily lol.

I say slots. I've seen a lot of people on casinos in Las Vegas, as well as videos of it in the internet where people literally piss themselves in their seats cause they can't let go of their spots. That's fucking insane if you'll ask me. No one in their right minds are going to be willing to risk public humiliation, more so a massive inconvenience to themselves and the people that work for the casino, not even for a penny, and yet these people do on the daily.

I also read about stories about people who literally go bonkers on the slot machine, clawing at the screen and all that shit thinking all that ritualistic bullcrap's gonna help them get the jackpot when we all know that the system is rigged against the player. Never have I seen a playerbase as hostaged as the slot machine fanatics, they're literally indoctrinated into thinking that they are getting a massive W out of the ordeal when all that's happening is that they embarrass themselves, they become a massive problem inside and outside the casino, and most of all they risk getting addicted into a game that's never going to give them the W they need, and even if they do get that, pretty sure they'd just return the next day to splurge it all on the same screen, pissing on the same seat.

I know this doesn't make sense, at least when you contextualize it based on the parameters set by OP. But I implore you to take a look at your local brick and mortar casino, or perhaps just surf the internet and look for slot machine addicts. Then you'd understand what I'm trying to say.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 19, 2023, 10:51:17 PM
I'd be a hypocrite if I say I read the terms of agreement and conditions as thorough as you could. At the end of the day we have the attention spans of a goldfish and of course, we wouldn't have time for all of that shit especially when all you're in for is a quick entertaining game and possibly a good time as well. Which is why I so advocate for more interactive and evoking introduction of rules and regulations when you're introducing your product. If it's in your heart to really let your customers know what they're getting themselves, it will only make sense for you to make it more interactive and informative. But I also understand at the same time the limitations by which you could make things more interesting for the people, not to mention the probable millions of dollars it's gonna cost the casino to make such an overhaul. So at the very least, to make sure that I don't get fucked with when I gamble with a new casino (which I rarely do nowadays as I pick favorites too quickly), I skim each section of the terms and conditions so I don't miss out on the important stuff while still making sure that I don't waste as much time as possible. It's only fair that way if you'll ask me and I guess everyone should try the same thing too so we don't get instances here of people getting banned for seemingly the most random stuff only for them to find out that it was included in the terms and agreement of the casino they're playing in years ago.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has gambling ever whispered you with different strategic prediction measures? on: December 19, 2023, 10:22:33 PM
Nope. I take it that I don't have any agency whenever I play luck-based games, I play and hope for the best but I don't expect for shit. Less expectations less disappointments to say the least. But I would be lying if I say I didn't try tactics or strategies per se in the past even in games where luck plays all the part whether you win or lose. I gotta say, we're a little superstitious and we think that at the very least if we humor ourselves with stuff like the right crank or if we do some sort of ritual we're able to win more games.

now, the thing that toxic is if you start these superstitions you have without the required empirical evidence. That becomes your mantra and it makes you hold on longer for your bets/games which in turn makes you lose more money in the process. But to each their own I guess. Just as with everything, make sure that you're setting limits upon yourself, add a little bit of skepticism.

What if a new rugpull is in plan for crypto?

SEC denial of the approval can cause crypto to crash massively, if the ETF isn't approved by January buckle up for a spiral run down the hill kinda market behavior.

But alas, ETF approval have been around for year's and it has never been approved before, if it's a nO this time around it still won't stop Bitcoin from creating a new all time high.

The way consumers accept this bad news will determine how far Bitcoin can dip but understand that it's going to be a big opportunity to get more Bitcoin, do not follow the masses, as they can be easily lead astray.
Massive buy opportunity if true. Although I doubt it. For one, the crypto hime we’ve been seeing for the past couple of weeks isn’t necessarily because of the ETF. But other reasons I personally don’t know myself. So if in any case the SEC blueballs us yet again with another decline of an ETF, I think the industry will do just fine perhaps with not even a substantial decrease in value, although I believe we’re due for a correction for some time already. And the market’s a ticking timebomb ready to blow up any day now. (A little exaggerated since it’s not gonna cause a crash, but oh well.)

I say if you don’t want to miss out on anything and take chances with all this “massive buy opportunities”, you guys try DCA.
