1521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How not having money helped my Bitcoin journey on: April 15, 2023, 07:58:58 PM
I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we all came from humble beginnings here (save for a good percentage here who were already balling even before bitcoin and crypto) so I don't think it should be that great of a concern if you don't have money to start with in bitcoin. I myself started my bitcoin journey with not even a dime on my name. Just worked my ass off starting with this forum and its abundance of signature campaigns and that's it!

I get how money could still be of a hindrance to some but it's not impossible you know. Just need to find the drive and resourcefulness
1522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto as "payment" method adaptable for non tech-savvy people? on: April 15, 2023, 07:08:36 PM
Well I guess it's not beginner-friendly, as you have to have some basic grasp of uow cryptocurrencies work and operate first before you sre able to use bitcoin as a consistent and viable payment method but I'm guessing with the current tech aptitude of today's people, educating them wouldn't be that hard. For one, bitcoin pretty much operates like most payment channels of today, safe for the fact that it is a little complicated in some parts but it's mostly just as similar as any other payment channel.

1523  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: April 15, 2023, 04:41:16 PM
If bitcoin crashes, I'd be good. I'd try to cash out whatever was left of my bitcoin savings, and get on with my life because I have diversified my investments, from crypto to real estate, and had also made sure that I could only invest what I could afford to lose, so whatever money that was lost to me is fine, I could recuperate and recover one way or another without selling all my stuff on craigslist.

Bitcoin crashing is something that we couldn't really expect nowadays considering how "stable" bitcoin's value is at the moment, and how positive the uptrend of bitcoin's value is thus far. But if it does happen, I'm ready. I'm not gonna go dirt-poor.
1524  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: April 15, 2023, 04:01:33 PM
The government pretty much has all the powers they can ever ask for to make the lives of their citizens better. I won't deny, discipline and hard work is still a good way for you to become successful, but if the country you live in doesn't give a damn about what you are going through, you'd die with your back bent on the ground.

1.Reform on land ownerships to make the farmer's life easier and so they don't have to live with dirt cheap wage for work that you wouldn't even think once of doing.
2.Education improvements to make sure that the youth is well-informed, especially in the fields of sex education and other important life aspects. Population boom wouldn't be a problem if the youth knows about everything there is to know about sex and reproduction.
3.Mitigation of corruption in all agencies of the government.
4.Bills and laws that prohibit job discriminations so qualified applicants can apply regardless of condition, educational attainment, or financial status.

All of these things will severely help the country, and it's not even the stuff that most people think. Nowadays people think of "government helping the poor" as the government outrightly giving the impoverished money. That's just weird and stupid.
1525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casino sports betting for gamblers at local bookmakers. on: April 15, 2023, 02:54:19 PM
First off, let me just say that, teaching people how to gamble is not going to be the best thing you could impart them, I suppose they had an intervention with them getting caught and incarcerated for a couple days but you kind of double downed on the problem by teaching them how to gamble without getting caught. Still, I think you've heard of this enough so I'll save the lectures for later.

At this point there's really little to no control we can make that will help sway your friend from stopping to gamble, he found a way to do so without problems and with so much convenience, he succumbed to the pressures, so unless he sees how he's gone so far, there's nothing much you can do. It's all personal discovery from this point onwwards.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Times When Casinos Will Ask Certificate That You Are A Responsible Gambler on: April 14, 2023, 11:56:10 PM
Yeah. I believe so, the industry's riddled with irresponsible gamblers and by those who are just 2 big losses straight to gambling addiction land, so a form of a proof l, if such would be mecessary or be implemented in the future, will be asked of the gambler before they can even start with the gambling. Of thos is done to the entire gambling industry, it will definitely deter everyone who's at the verge of gambling addiction.

On the other hand though, this is money we're talking about. So there is a good chance the casinos will not implement it, what do they care about the gambling addicts anyway
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout money on: April 14, 2023, 06:54:37 PM
Some sites do not require KYC so you should be good to go provided that you played in a casino that doesn't require users to verify their identities, but the way you asked the wuestion is a little perplexing to me. You sound like a noob who just got a hold of sokeone else's account and now you're asking the internet on how to bypass KYC which sadly you can't if the casino is enforcing it. Not pointing any fingers but if my inference is correct I would really suggest yoi return the account to its previous owner lmao
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 13, 2023, 08:22:37 PM
Meh, there will still be ways for organizations to promote gambling. They're literally just removing the right to put them up on player's shirt until the said specified time. It's like putting your son on a no-phone ground after you find out he's been using the blender to mince frogs. But going back, yeah players will still be able to promote gambling sites in other ways, and even if they don't nothing's really stopping a dedicated gambler to play his favorite sports betting match. So it's a matter of futility really if you'll ask me. But whatever, whether they crackdown on sports gambling the industry will remain, they may even settle to another game or organization if ever, there's nothing that effectively stops sports betting from ever reaching its target audience really.
1529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rigged Game on: April 13, 2023, 06:48:30 PM
The best way to win the game is to not play it.

I'm not saying you shouldn't play or game or bet at all, it's a gambling thread on a gambling board after all. What I am saying is that in times and situations like these, it's most wise to not risk yourself already. Playing on shady casinos, ones that can't present any license, or those that promise ridiculous things aren't the way to go. The risks outweigh the benefits so to speak. In any case, play on verifiable and reputable casinos only. That way you can rest easy that you are on a casino that you can trust and one that wouldn't play any games on you.
1530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ridiculous Bets that disappointed you on: April 13, 2023, 06:07:16 PM
Felt like the system was messing with me this one time. I tried to cheap out on Hi-Lo by only playing a dollar and high proccing the chance for Highs. Was winning considerably until I tried betting 100 bucks in one go with the same chance multiplier only to lose it all. Didn't even give buffers or whatnot, just straight out lost. Almost threw my chair across the room after that bet and had contemplated thrice about posting about the event here. I calmed down a little after and then I forgot about ever posting about them here. It's not as ridiculous as some of the entries here, but it's definitely a core memory to me and one of the reasons why I never played beyond my means ever again.
1531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 13, 2023, 04:57:47 PM
The martingale strategy only ever works if you have a greater capacity to take losses and put in higher bets, that's why it's the strategy for high rollers as they say. But if you're a regular bettor or someone who's not willing to go all out, it's not going to be your cup of tea. Better to employ other gambling strategies that would better improve your winning chances than putting your money to chance and hoping for the best. Personally I wouldn't even call it a strategy as it's just bait for gambling addiction to set in and take over your life, but you do you i guess. In any case, Martingale wouldn't normally work for everyone, and as you OP have stated, for the most part it's not working in your favor.
1532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tilt in gambling on: April 11, 2023, 05:13:23 PM
Tilt in gambling is a common thing. I reckon a couple of newbies and even a number of veteran gamblers in this forum fall victim to this type of mentality. I myself have been tilted a couple of times in the past leading me to keep chasing wins, which if I didn't realize a little early on, could've lead me to becoming addicted to gambling.

So how do you avoid tilt? You can't.
With videogames it's easy to avoid tilt, a proper mindset, a cheerful attitude, you're good to go. In gambling, that's not the case, money is involved so whether you're playing for entertainment or you're playing for money it doesn't matter, you'll find yourself getting tilted especially after consistent losses.

But how do you stop it? I found that deep breaths when I feel that vein finally popping up my temple really helps with reorganizing my emotions and collecting my thoughts. You should give it a try too.
1533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC] Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira 2 on: April 11, 2023, 04:17:39 PM
Adesanya is mocking Pereira with his celebration, it's a good revenge by him.
Pereira's son mocked Israel before when he was knocked out, Israel was just returning the favour. There will be another fight and by then the pressure would have shifted to Israel who will now be bearing the weight of trying to defend the belt he just won. Israel need to not rest but to continue developing and polishing his techniques so he can be ready before an official date for the next fight between the two of them be announced. It will be tougher.
was the fight confirmed? A lot of people are looking to have the two fight again to further cement who's the better fighter but as far as I know no official announcement from any party, not even UFC's that says they are confirmed to get a new fight. In any case I think this will be one of the biggest fight in UFC history, seeing as this fight already made grounds on the internet, partly because of Israel Adesanya's massive KO win against Pereira. But I digress, I don't think the fight is confirmed yet by any party, but I can expect the both of them being very eager to face each other in the ring for another fight or so just to really prove who's big and who's not worthy of the title.
1534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕘𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝟚𝟘𝟜𝟠 𝕚𝕟 𝕘𝕒𝕞𝕓𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘 on: April 11, 2023, 03:10:20 PM
any game could be included in a casino's roster, provided that a clear method to how they can monetize it and enable payouts as well is found. With 2048, the game is pretty much able to be monetized, just think of the numbers as multipliers with the highest being used as the main frame of multiplier reference, and your payout being directly correlated to a calculation that comes after your score. But the problem is, 2048 is a game that you can barely lose at. Personally, I had no hard time beating the game and reaching even higher scores than 2048, a game that favors the player more than the casino is something that they will not be able to appreciate, so as promising as this game is, there's no chance casinos will include this game, at least the reputable ones.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 11, 2023, 02:30:52 PM
Gambling strategies as much as you wanna deny it do exist, albeit for some games but it is a real thing.

Counting cards in blackjack
Bluffing in Poker

There are a lot of strategies involved in games that find themselves in the casino. I guess you're talking about games like slots or dice which are all solely based on the arbitrary chance that you get a win but still, to completely deny it for the sake of "it's all a game" mindset is a little funny to me. I'm one to preach about how important it is to have fun when gambling rather than take profit (you can check my gambling posts) but employing strategies to mess with your opponents or to amp your chance a little is fun too!
1536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Bad Economy on: April 10, 2023, 07:42:26 PM
While your statement is partly true, I can pretty much say that it's not the entire truth so to speak. Yes bitcoin could really help maintain the value of someone's riches by a longshot, while at the same time offering large profit margins. But in essence, the people put their money and their trust into bitcoin because no matter rhe market trend, there's the promise of profit looming over no matter how high or low hitcoin's market is.
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in times of danger. on: April 10, 2023, 07:08:59 PM
sad to know that you had to let go of your prized bitcoins this early in your investment journey but honestly speaking, bitcoin over my family? I'd choose family any day, so I can't really blame you for selling it since to me, you did the right thing. In any case, I believe you'd still have plenty of chances to recuperate from this loss and stock up on bitcoins in the near future, for now you gotta focus on making your family secure in ways that matter.
Actually, you don't need to regret the sale, even though we know when the situation is urgent and requires any money to be sold including Bitcoin ownership. Today you may sell it but that doesn't rule out the possibility that in the future you will have it again. Don't be sad because family needs are the most important thing above all. In the past, I also did the same thing, selling out of necessity, but time goes on and we always have the opportunity to have it again. There are still many ways to hold Bitcoin, while Bitcoin is still being traded, you can buy it whenever you want. Imagine that there are many people out there who have lost access to their wallets with a large amount of Bitcoin. While they need money to stay alive.
What you said is true and I stand by it but at the same time, we can't really blame the guy, it's like smashing an empty beer bottle at the back of your head, whatever the reason may be, you're still damaged and hurt from the ordeal. I'm guessing that since OP is a capable man anyway, maybe put in the extra work to have enough money to put back into investing? You did it once, you can always do it again if you want to. We have full trust in you OP!
1538  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Come and mine Bitcoin in Africa. on: April 10, 2023, 06:07:21 PM
I agree, as someone living in a third world country as well, too many opportunities are getting overlooked due to the poor living conditions in the country, add to this the negative preconceptions that they carried with them from their households, If they learn to get past that, I would bet my money that they'd make a killing here and in Africa, bitcoin mining or not.

As for crypto mining regulations, I do think the continent is not in the position to issue cease and desist orders in these mining entities/firms, especially if they help promote African Tourism and therefore jumpstart Africa's economy. The only thing that these people are a little wary of is the security, standard of living, and of course quality of basic human necessities.

Mining is still one of those industries that need a lot more time to gain traction, I suppose that if we give S.Africa more time to recuperate and build its own reputation, enough people will be able to realize the benefits of mining in Africa and therefore will come flocking towards the continent to make home of and mine not diamonds, but bitcoin this time.
1539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 09, 2023, 07:44:40 PM
I think so, as many people said. The mere act of considering the purchase of a bitcoin is more than enough reason to call yourself a risk taker. Many people in their lives wouldn't have gone so far to do the same thing you did, and yet you invested and are currently looking to make it grow too! So by all means you are a risk-taker alright, but not the wrong type. Stock ip on information, DYOR and never let FUD or FOMO take over your judgement and you should see yourself down a more successful path in this industry
me? i don't really think i'll consider my self as risk taker at all, since there are different kinds of risk. as for me, i'll consider my self as a gambler since it's like i'm only playing around with money without expecting great in return while i am learning the processs at the same time. the reason why i won't consider my self as a risk taker is that, i didn't like the idea of risking without getting something in return, but with playing around i expect that i will lose that money immediately, this is mostly why i'll only play the amount that i can afford to lose or some spare money that i don't really need. the idea of converting valuable things to fiat and gamble the money is not really for me.
!But gamblers are risk takers you silly! I'm guessing you mean that you just don't take as much risks as the average cryptobro, or perhaps you dismiss of your ventures as something other than a risk you are actively taking. Either way whatever works for you bro.
1540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I still believe I am on the right path on: April 09, 2023, 06:59:52 PM
Congratulations on finding the resolve to still invest and believe in bitcoin even if there's been internal and external struggles that had clouded your judgement in the past.

For me, the hardest part about being a bitcoin investor is that you once were someone who doesn't know anything about it, a noob per se.
You're easily swayed by market trends, FUD, shill, and every bit of opinionated information that is available on the internet. I wouldn't lie, I've been a victim of this in the past too, and am currently being a victim of it in the cryptocurrency industry still even though I'm almost in this industry for a decade. But whatever, I think once you got past that initial doubt, and realize that only two things should matter to you as an investor, and that is your own volition and the facts that are stated in available academic and statistical papers, you're pretty much set on a good path as a bitcoin investor already.
