1241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 09:39:34 PM
Yes, you read that accurately.

If I buy several lottery tickets and then leave my account dormant for a long time, say at least 6 months, and my ticket wins the jackpot during that time.
Will anything happen to my prize money? Will the casino refund my money because I never claimed any of the rewards?

It's just a thought I've had for a while and decided to ask here in the community.

I think conventionally, both online and land-based lottery impose strict expiration dates on all tickets they issue, this is to ensure that every draw is made fresh and so people don't use old tickets with potential jackpots in them to get an unfair advantage against the competition. So you might as well use all of them in one go or at least before they expire. For land-based casinos it usually expires on the particular draw date and any further time will render the ticket void and invalid. Online lotteries on the other hand may impose lengthy expiration dates as much as they please. It's all about the system and what works best for these casinos really.

So again, you might wanna use those up before they become useless piles of paper or junk in your online inventory.
1242  Economy / Economics / Re: I cannot go home if I don't make a lot of money now!! on: July 03, 2023, 09:11:32 PM
Get jobs, get more jobs if you can, if you can't take another job on top of what you have right now, learn a skill or a craft, preferably one that is not as time consuming, not stressful, and not something as major as your current employment, look into baking, writing, tutoring, all that stuff. These crafts pay good and are not that much of a hassle (except baking as it requires you to have some sort of practical training). From there, hone your skill, master your craft, and build a clientelle. I actually suggest that you offer your services for free in the first few months of you opening your side hustle and only ask that these people recommend yourself to other people within their circle of acquaintances that is in need of your services.

This is what worked for me and I was able to get out of my dead-end job at a call center agency and find a better work-life balance that I enjoy till this day.
1243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats your thought on: July 03, 2023, 08:37:49 PM
I'm curious about the recent pump in Bitcoin's price. What are your thoughts on the factors that contributed to this surge? Do you believe it was primarily driven by positive news, investor speculation, increased mainstream awareness, or a combination of these factors? How do you think this pump will impact the overall cryptocurrency market? Looking forward to hearing your insights and opinions!"
BlackRock's ETF getting accepted by the SEC, the SEC creating clear distinctions that it is not after bitcoin, only unregulated investment assets or or speculative tokens that provide no real value to the industry, and the recent lack of anything negative to say about bitcoin, partnered by the fact that MicroStrategy just bought bitcoins again by the thousand, and the overall excitement that people have for the halving event that will happen soon next year.

All of this contributed to a pretty substantial increase in valuation over these past few days. Is this sustainable, will bitcoin be able to stay in this price point for a longer time? Only time will tell, but we still have a couple more months until the big thing happens so might as well enjoy this!
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 will determined bitcoin fate on: July 03, 2023, 08:16:56 PM
It's funny when people cartoonishly deflates the essence and value of bitcoin over its price. There were people here who bought bitcoin when it was worth peanuts, there were people here who bought it when it was skyrocketing, does it change the fact that bitcoin was a revolutionary monetary tool that could help bridge people from across the planet? No, I don't think so. I think the essence still remains and even if bitcoin were to drop to the ground like roadkill on 2024 people will still believe in it, because there's use for it and people will find ways.

It's fair that you're thinking bitcoin's fate is decided on 2024 but keep in mind that before bitcoin became this big, it's a monetary tool that was made for the people without any drawbacks or conditions. People like me who saw past the glitter will continue to believe in bitcoin even if it went for a cent tomorrow.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 01, 2023, 09:25:36 PM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?

Reputable sites do, and they are able to thanks to KYC and age verification, other gambling sites aren’t or are just flat out refusing to do so either because it’s a drag having to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in creating systems that will verify someone’s age through KYC, or because they’re afraid of losing money from these underaged citizens to which I say you have to be a certain level of asshole for you to even dare to do this.

With the current reputable system in the industry I don’t doubt the legitimacy of people who’re playing, at least in the age department, I’ve encountered some manchildren while I was gaming and gambling, but that’s the closest I’ve ever had an encounter with an immature individual in the gambling world.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that if you bounce bitcoin back and forth to different wallets on: July 01, 2023, 08:56:41 PM
that after a certain amount of time the bitcoin becomes practically anonymous? As in, not being able to be traced back to the original KYC exchange, or in the case of "tainted" bitcoin, that?
Picture this my friend. I have a ball named bitcoin that I wanted to hide from a cop that thinks I stole it (spoiler alert: I didn’t). Now I have this trusted friend we should call “wallet 2” where I could entrust the ball with for the meantime as I try to evade the law. With enough leads and evidences, there’s no doubt that the bitcoin ball will be traced back to wallet 2, and from there, I’m toast, the bitcoin’s gone, my identity’s blown, and people now see me as a ball thief in the neighborhood.

Now picture the same scenario, but instead of having only one friend to entrust the bitcoin ball with, I have 18 other friends correspondingly named wallets 3-18 which will pass the ball around in random to confuse investigators and the cops. They’d still suspect that I’m accomplices with the other 18 people in my friend circle, but there’s sure as shit no chance that they’d find the ball.

The principle applies to bitcoin too, merely passing the ball around doesn’t change the fact that the bitcoin cane from you, so with enough dedication and time for research any guy could trace bitcoins back to its original owner, but at the same time this doesn’t necessarily equate to them being able to find where the bitcoin is at the moment.
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: July 01, 2023, 08:32:53 PM
I think it doesn't take a rocket scientist for you to realize how flawed the logic of selling your physical properties for bitcoin, especially if you can't afford losing these properties at the same time. This creates a lot of chaos and puts you in a risk so high you'd get dizzy. And while some people live for this kinds of risks and thrive in it too, the average joe just couldn't afford to make these types of magnanimous investments without performing thorough research. So equip yourself with the proper information like what OP's trying to convey right here, and only ever invest when it's something that you can afford losing, and if it's something that will not cause you problems in the future. Otherwise, withhold from investing in crypto as you wouldn't be able to survive the harsh volatile environment that most of us here have accustomed ourselves of.
1248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 30, 2023, 11:23:12 PM
Heres the statistical low down for all you avid bettors to feast over in your judicious appraisal of betting prospects in this clash of titans :

These are hilarious stats!
I don't know if a fridge can win against an athlete.
That’s a proper tale of the tape! Just goes to show how funny this whole ordeal is. Still laughing at this shit from the day I saw Zuck post a story with the caption “send location” as if the fight’s going to be held at his place or an abandoned Walmart parking lot like Jesus Christ. My money’s still on Zuck cause I really wanna see Musk’s face get clobbered by someone who looked so out of place that he looks like a skinwalker every time. In any case, let’s just wait for definite dates since it’s pretty much confirmed the fight’s going to be under UFC’s care courtesy of Dana White showing support a few days ago on a shirt.
1249  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 30, 2023, 10:10:20 PM
$6k is actually a small value for Stake as they are a big casino it would not be possible to steal it from a user for any reason, I am sure your problem can be resolved in their ANN thread as it looks like you have also PMed Stunna as well made this post in a new thread here's a post on the Stake thread, I hope your problem can be resolved well because the problem of $ 6k is too little to damage the big name Stake on this forum because they are a trusted casino.

I will continue to monitor the progress of this case, my advice is that you need to be a little patient in this matter until the Stake team really provides a solution to your problem without having to ask for KYC which is so complicated as billing in English that you can't do it. I hope Stunna replies to your PM soon and make sure to post as often as possible on the ANN Stake thread.  Wink
Money is money, regardless of how "big" an establishment is. Plus it's not about the money itself but the fact that stake is allegedly making things hard for the customer with all these proof of verification that he needs, plus all of it is piling up too, imagine getting asked for a billing statement one time and then next you find out it was not approved and now they are asking for more, I can sense the frustration on OP's end.

I'm an avid fan of stake and I think this is not something that OP took lightly to post, I believe stunna needs to reply on this to provide proper resolution as clearly the customer service available at stake isn't helping that much. As a supporter of stake and someone who's wearing their badge in a signature campaign I think it's only fair that I provide the voice of reason here too, and not downplay Stake or OP's troubles, regardless of how big or small the money is.

Again, it's not about the money, it's about the principles that Stake upholds to its customers.
1250  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: June 30, 2023, 09:38:01 PM

Now the point here is that on the gambling site, there are many easy winning bets with odds like 1.01x etc. If the money lauder is sensible he can easily be wagering the whole amount by placing a few bets where the odds are very low and the winning chances are 99%.

There is no sure winning in gambling; even the lowest odds can still lose a game. So if the intention of the user is to launder money through the Casino, their chances of losing the entire money before even getting it out are high.

Lower Odds give one some confidence that their chances of winning are huge, but it does not always happen that way. So trying to use that as a loophole in an online casino might lead you to fall victim to losing all your wagers.
While you are right in the idea that 99% doesn't mean everytime, you also have to consider the fact that it is almost every time, and that alone is enough for these money launderers to use these gambling sites as a form of money laundering method. It may not be the best, but against losing it entirely to the IRS and getting jailed for god knows how long, the prospect of losing all your money which I believe you can gain anyway considering the fact that you're trying to hide it from the IRS is minuscule.

So while for the average person losing money on a bet like this could cause them mental anguish and pain, for the average money launderer who as I said earlier could earn back what they lost in a snap thanks to their unlawful/shady business practices, this is just a minor setback.
1251  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk own Casino complaint panel on: June 30, 2023, 09:05:49 PM
I recently read this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5458053.0 about Rollbit disabling the user account without further explanation. By the flow of this case, It's either the user will use 3rd party service to file complaint or the representative of the casino will directly answer all the complain on scam accusation thread. The problem arise when both party claimin they are right while they can't provide documents in public, Most of the time we recommend to move the case on Askgambler to have a mediator for the case.

What if we have our own group of trusted user that can act as mediator to look on the case. We have a lot of talented and respectable user here that capable on handling the situation while most the casino representative has a close contact on campaign manager here.

Do you think this is a good idea to solve cases like this? Take note only case that involved a valid evidence and argument will be considered. A tip is also required in case the complainant is willing to use the forum service.
There wouldn't be such a thing here, opinions are great and all that, but if they were to be used to judge cases like this that could cost one side lots of money in the process, at least let the judgment come from a source that is verifiable and one that mastered the art of providing sound judgment. Plus if we were to appoint certain accounts as "annointed users" or "chosen juries" that would just inflate the need for account buying here, which is already something that the whole team is fighting against since it insinuates dishonesty within the forum.

Let it just be like this, if shit hits the fan and they need to take this into court then might as well. I don't see why we should have a say in this cause it's not our money anyway, and we're already empowered to provide opinion to begin with.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 28, 2023, 11:07:24 PM
Sportsbetting will definitely take the cake. The sheer number of sports fans alone will paint uou a pretty clear picture of how much bettors there are. Not to mention the sheer nimber of sports you can bet on nowadays. And then I myself voted for slots, even though I stopped playing the game. It’s just one of t he easiest games to pick ip out there, doesnMt require you to learn convoluted roles and guidelines to play, sets the expectation that you’re there not to win but to have fun, and provides you with the versqtility to either use crypto, coins, or bills. So among all of these it’s second only to sportsbetting in terms of accessibility,

s/amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jun/28/ads-for-online-gambling-should-be-banned-in-australia-within-three-years-inquiry-recommends]Ads for online gambling should be banned across all media and at all times within three years to combat the manipulation of an “impressionable and vulnerable audience”, a parliamentary inquiry has recommended.

After months of debate about betting ads, including the prime minister, Anthony Albanese, labelling them “annoying” and the opposition leader, Peter Dutton, calling for a ban on ads during sports matches, the inquiry has provided a blueprint to shut them down entirely.
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jun/28/ads-for-online-gambling-should-be-banned-in-australia-within-three-years-inquiry-recommends

If this should be implemented will it affect bitcointalk casinos? As we all know most established and new casinos come to bitcointalk to launch their ANN thread and carry out signature promotion campaigns which can be regarded as ads in a sense. If ads should be banned will their promotion in Bitcointalk also end?
Perhaps they are talking about oppressive types of advertisements like popup ads (goddamn it all) that riddle every shady website on the internet. Plus those pesky ads that automatically redirect you to the gambling site when you press something from the main website you wanna visit. Either way I don’t think casino ads in bitcointalk are going to be affected as the ads here aren’t oppressive at all and are needed to keep the forum alive and running. Plus the forum’s even generous enough to give us a free option to disable all ads (although I wouldn’t suggest using it cause the ads here aren’t that pesky, plus we gotta show support to the site that helped build some of us here you know).
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino on a cruise ship? on: June 28, 2023, 10:03:54 PM
Has anyone here had the opportunity to try out the casino on a cruise ship? I've heard many stories about them, and I'm curious to learn about the similarities and differences compared to land-based casinos. I'm particularly interested in hearing from someone who has firsthand experience playing in a cruise ship casino.

Specifically, I would like to know:

Operating Hours: Do cruise ship casinos operate 24/7 like their land-based counterparts?
Payouts: Are the payout rates comparable to land-based casinos?
Betting Limits: What are the minimum betting limits? I know that some land-based casinos start at $20.
Game Variety: Can I find the same range of games offered in land-based casinos on cruise ships?
I haven't had the opportunity to visit one just yet but I've had friends more successful than me talk about their cruise ship stories, and it includes leisure.

Most of these cruise ships will have a dedicated place for gambling and games, billiards, chess, even table tennis for some ships. But let's talk about the gambling part.

Pay-rates are so-so as I told, some hold sizable treasuries capable of supplying prizes for jackpot winners, some are not.
Like most establishments within the ship, they operate on a schedule, no later than the evening, so crews can clean up and prepare for next date.
I wasn't able to ask how much the betting entry is, but for sure there's one.
As for game variety, you'll have what they can only provide. Staples such as roulette, poker, and sometimes even slots are readily available, games like billiards where you can create personal bets with opponents are available too.

That's about it I guess. Again I'm using information referred to me by my friends, so I can't really vouch for the authenticity, but for what it's worth, After conducting some research myself I think it all adds up.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Crypto Games) A revolution in the gaming industry or a passing trend? on: June 27, 2023, 10:30:26 PM
I played different crypto games if you mean those with NFT features. I can tell there's always the bad habit of the coin's value going down as time flies by or as many players come in. I don't know why but I believe something is wrong and it should be the other way around. When demand soars, the value should go the same way but in my experience as many people are putting their money in, there are also many who will take advantage of it.
I have never seen a crypto game that I played yet with a value that stayed the same or increased. Mostly, either they fall down or they will be gone filing bankruptcy and there's no way you can reach the developers.
So if you are still interested in things like this, you might want to also take advantage of being the early bird. Take the ROI as fast as you can, make some profit, and then just enjoy the game.

I think this should be in the Altcoin Discussion.
I guess it's a two-way problem, which causes these NFT games to flop eventually even though from the start they may look promising. It's all about how they handle their tokenomics, and how they do not account for the capacity of the regular person to abuse the system to their advantage. Take Axie Infinity for example. right from the get-go when things aren't blowing up the game is doing fine as it is, able to bag in as much as 200 bucks per month even with just a regular team of Axies. It's when the grind movement came in that things start to go downhill, cause they didn't take into account the fact that players could easily abuse the energy system and the SLP tokenomics, which lead to what started as a bubble in the economy, until it crashed and inflation set in.

Older games are able to counter this by introducing scarcity, it's perhaps the lack of experience in the field that led to these devs overlooking these important factors that lead to their downfall. But it doesn't mean that the industry is failing or it's just a passing fad as they always say, you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette.
1256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Crypto Games) A revolution in the gaming industry or a passing trend? on: June 27, 2023, 08:06:47 PM
They have been long running, even longer than what you think. They have been a staple in this industry for so long, and what you're seeing right now is just these games suddenly improving thanks to the dedication of players and developers out there. So to ask if crypto games are just a passing fad in this industry is kind of insulting considering they pretty much helped build this industry lmao. If you're talking about the new age of cryptocurrency games that we are able to play nowadays I don't think "constantly improving" is something that you could consider as a passing fad especially in the grand scheme of things when everything in this industry is improving and innovating.

1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 27, 2023, 07:23:09 PM

I'm hoping to make more BTC so the more bets from now on the more chances of winning. I think that's what I'm going to do now before the bull run takes full speed.
Regardless of which game. To me, I bet on Soccer but I seem to have lost every day. How often do you win in Soccer games if you just bet based on odds by picking a team with 1.50 and 1.70?
Such a flawed mindset. Although I understand your cause and as much as possible would like to stand behind it, I would highly discourage gambling or betting on sports to earn profits for your bitcoin basket lmao. You'd find that you'll lose more games than you win even with whatever strategy you have in mind, and the only thing that could really secure you profits in this industry is making sure you don't lose what you win. So in that regard, secure your wins, try to bet less, learn which teams you're more comfortable betting on and stick to them so as to make sure you amp your chances of winning even by just a tad margin, and never go beyond your pre-set personal limits.

Gambling for profit is just a massive death wish but I can't really stop you now can I? besides, I think you know what you're doing already, so just make sure that all the pointers I set above are met and you should be good to go at least.
1258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: June 27, 2023, 02:47:41 AM
If someone claimed they have the right strategy for gambling and winning more times than losing, why can't they use the strategy for themselves and change their lives first?

Why did they go around looking for people to teach? This is why experience after following a friend to a gambling group on telegram, but I am not ready to take the step in any other their predictions..

My question for you my friends is are there sport betting groups that gives betting calls that are legit? Because I believe that if anyone knows a way to change their life around, they won't tell anyone, they will enjoy the moments and pray it last forever.

Pretty sure there's none that claims they are of no compromise and will provide you with consistent wins. There are call groups that lets all their members know what their leader is betting on so they can decide whether they wanted to ride it or not, but if it came to the point that they tell you it's a consistent win, especially in sports betting, it's either that guy who setup the group itself is a fixer, or they're spewing lies and are trying to scam you out of your money.

I've had friends that join sports bet groups and most of the time they don't even just drop bet ideas, they literally just go in there and talk like real people do. So it's a great way to socialize as well. But for the most part there's always the discretion of noting that each of their bets are still indeterminate against the real odds which is the player's capacity to win or lose and thus they aren't and will not always be correct in their predictions.
1259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 27, 2023, 02:28:39 AM
Probably just your tough luck as it doesn't really affect the match or anything. Might even say that the world doesn't revolve around you so why should you concern yourself over when to bet when it doesn't make you any better of a gambler in the first place? Just bet whenever you feel like it and stick to it. It's more about your strategies that gives you these losses than the time you took your bet really. Perhaps study both teams first, only bet on a game you understand by heart, and then play your cards right, that way when the game starts and you make your bet you'd at least have the confidence of someone who did their homework you know.

Saying this cause I've had friends in the past find success in both types of betting. So it doesn't mean anything or is not indicative that betting earlier or later will give you better chances at winning.
1260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Include The Sport Spogomi In Their Platform on: June 26, 2023, 09:06:58 PM
Besides it being charity work on steroids, there’s a huge potential for money to be made in this type of game. Imagine, selling those trash collected would be a good business model that will help keep the game sustainable and running for as long as they like. Plus there’s not much costs about it too and all that you really need is a venue where you would collect scattered trash .

It all  depends over the fact that this should be horrendously famous for casinos to pick up on it and actually include it in games that they let players play with. As it stands today unlike sex it’s a rather obscure type of sport and until casinos catch this game they’d most likely won’t hear anything about spogomi.
