Sportsbet.io has been a great friend of the forum with all these sponsored pools, keep it up SB  Cool

562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 29, 2024, 07:17:12 PM
I still believe this AFCON will be won by an underdog especially that the big dogs are crashing out so easily without putting up a fight..

Just saw Cape Verde get into the quarter finals and it took a defensive error that forced the goalkeeper to commit a foul which lead to the penalty and a free pass...and judging from how these penalties are coming this will be want will get the big teams out!

Otherwise my teams are still in it.. Cape Verde and Senegal and surprisingly I like how the Nigerians have managed to put their act together and finally looking threatening..just hope no more draws to shake up the Pool as competition gets closer to wrapping up!

They say Bad news comes in threes ...and here is the biggest sports news received so far....

Last week we got the news of Klopp stepping down and leaving Liverpool...

Then, Xavi of Barcelona is also said to leave Barca at the end of the season

And now according to what Sky Sports reported, they are saying Arteta is also expected to leave Arsenal at the end of this football season...

What's really happening with our football managers, is the responsibility getting too much for these guys Huh

566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Self control cannot be neglected as an early investor on: January 29, 2024, 03:27:24 AM
I used the money I was supposed to use to lump sum into bitcoin to buy a game. Lame right, very lame. While a lot of persons would talk down on me right now about this cause I know I've messed up and was supposed to say no to that urge to just spend more. Although I've replaced it today with a lot of hard work. I've learnt a lesson. To succeed as an investor you must have self control. I had every reason to say no to the urge to get a game but I didn't. I lacked self control to say no myself and do the right thing.
If anyone must achieve any desire in life, he must have the self control to control his lists cause here I am burning with desire to accumulate bitcoin and this same me went ahead to forfeit it for a game. All I know is I'm never gonna make this same mistake again.
I like the fact that you bring out a real life experience and not some cooked up story that tries to paint the investing journey being easy when it's not!

Self control well I don't know about that...The fact that we have needs, other responsibilities or commitments..DCAing or investing isn't easy and takes alot of sacrifice to succeed in it, and whatever happened in your journey is normal AFAIK and perhaps you need to be saving for two things now...miscellaneous expenses and Bitcoin to try avoid emptying the crypto bag for unforeseen expenses as you can't guarantee this from happening again.
Otherwise, self control alone won't work, it needs a supporting system as advised above and good luck with the DCAing Smiley

570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 27, 2024, 08:51:42 PM
I didn't see any impressive football that Barcelona played in the first half at home, and if they continue this way in the second half, Villa Real might win the match. However, we shouldn't underestimate Barcelona, because they can become deadly in the second half and win all three points.

Barcelona 0-1 Villarreal
Unfortunately Barcelona didn't look hungry enough to complete the comeback and worse off they were at home and the 12th player effect didn't help them either.

But credit should go to Villareal for putting up a brave fight playing away from home and to score five against these big boys..just hope this will be an eye opener for these guys to shake things up to organise the team before they drop more points as they haven't been convincing enough.
571  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No one has gone broke taking profits, always take profits. on: January 27, 2024, 06:43:47 PM
I started learning how to trade and my teacher just told me this advice that no one has gone broke taking profits when trading.
Best advice!

The problem we trąders tend to have is trying to be selfish with the markets, when it comes to a trade we initially wanted to get profits at 1:3 RR we try to now push for 1:5 without any partial profits and when markets reverse and hits our stop loss we are now in negative without any profits after all the analysis and waiting.

I have always wanted to earn Bitcoin but I have been confused how to start then decided that I'll learn how to trade. I have been reading through the forum and I see lots of advice about holding and it's looking like if you sell you're not doing the correct thing. The first advice I have received is that I should always take profits. My teacher said the profits you take is better than all imagining profits you'll think that you can get in the future if you keep holding. He didn't say holding is bad but I got advice not to neglect the profits that I can take. I got this advice and I want to share it with everyone, always take profits.
I like your mentor, the lesson here is don't be greedy pay yourself while you trading Smiley
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 27, 2024, 06:13:08 PM
If someone is always going to be more interested in the potential profit they would win without really worrying much on the likelihood that they would lose money then such a gambler is destined to be chasing losses for failing to apply a good risk management...and this could be an element of someone new to the world  of gambling! Of course not to say this is only done by newbies but veterans can fall in this if greed gets the better of them.

That's one of the key things most gamblers fail to watch out for, how much you can afford to lose.
Most gamblers don't know how bad it is to gambles with what they can't afford to lose, when you gambles with money that puts you at the edge of your seat, you will always be in a mood of panicking.
This whole thing of winning is based on luck, and I guess they try to stretch this luck by going all out without paying attention at how they are losing their money...but I guess at times this strategy can work for others Roll Eyes
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 27, 2024, 04:40:39 PM
The shocking news I heard this morning is that Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of this season. This is quite surprising as he thought he had run out of motivation to continue this work. I didn't think that someone like him would suddenly lose motivation like that.
It's not lack of motivation for him calling it quits on Liverpool but the man said wanted to rest which is understandable.

His lifestyle at this point is literally football throughout the Year and being human we need the rest away from your work environment which these guys never get and I think the timing wouldn't be any better as his given the club ample time to scout for other manager's without really putting them in panic mode...and incase someone thought his being wanted elsewhere, he shot this idea quick .. Otherwise in a nutshell his had a great run in England!
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The "loaded slots" scam on: January 27, 2024, 09:42:04 AM
I think when you search youtube for content relating to how to play or win slots, then you are likely going to run into such videos on YouTube showing people how to win jackpots and what not....

One video that caught my eye, this YouTuber claims you have to play a certain slot game at a certain time, and claims he always hits winners and goes on to say you need to pay to get this winning info which really doesn't sit well with me as this screams scam especially that its right there for all to see that his money is in these subscriptions as far as I know.

Otherwise reading what's in the OP just gave me a reason to stick with sport.. as Slots are so much based on luck and you can't always win...

576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members? on: January 26, 2024, 07:29:21 PM
I think scared is the wrong word to be used here...

When it comes to certain boards, a certain level of expertise is expected when engaging in a conversation, and the fact that you refer to high ranking users means they might be DT members that can easily tag you for spam, misinformation or the alike but of course they have a degree of tolerance that they would let certain stuff slide without any neutral tags or putting one into their ignore list.,,but should this be a habit you getting what you deserve Roll Eyes

Otherwise, the forum is a place to share knowledge, and acquire knowledge by interacting with others which means everyone is free to hang around boards they feel comfortable in without restrictions but remember not to spam these places...
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gamblers do retired betting gambles on: January 26, 2024, 12:07:58 PM
One day I saw an old man of seventy [70] years old in gambling center were we bet for soccer predictions gambling bet, and I interviewed the old man that his age that why is it gambling up this age, and many people who don't know me was like wondering why I interviewed the man and some said why I mine questioning the man that gambling is a game of personal interest.so what I to ask a gambler is that what age should someone who is a gambler supposed to reach before the person retire in gambling or is it advisable for someone to continue to gamble until death separate us with gambling.
Let's face it, when one gets to a certain age they have very few activities they can engage themselves in..

and for someone at that age to be gambling its either they are doing it for pure fun and entertainment

or trying to help the family by hoping to win big and leave them with something they can inherit from him.

Tbh retiring from gambling depends on one's financial standing, mental health standing or simply if you still have the time to gamble depending on how one's schedule is..or all differs from one person to the other but I guess it's one way to keep yourself active and entertained...we just cant get one answer fits all!

As a gambler what do you think that should be the right time we suppose to leave gambling weather we are making profits or we are not making profits with gambling, because I know quite well that gambling whenever you are making profits you will wish to continue gambling unless that you run out of cash.
Its easy to say stop gambling and what not, but do you also consider that these people get bored especially if they are sitting all day at home...honestly this isn't an easy discussion..otherwise if they can farm, engineer stuff at home then I don't expect them to be gambling as they are kept preoccupied with other activities.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: January 26, 2024, 11:33:02 AM
Can't really come up with an average amount per bet because this depends on a lot of variables, for example when it comes to sports betting which I can go a little higher than normal as I make my own luck here & depends on tournament/game unlike playing casino games where strategy is everything to play the long game..

And the fact that I don't track my losses for the sake of not chasing my losses...what matters to me is I walk out a winner(profitable or breakeven) but if you asked for a base bet on my slot games..well this ranges from $0.1 -$2 and its my optimum way to make a profit but doesn't always work if luck isn't on my side Tongue

I also see you want monthly income numbers, but for me, gambling is not a job and wouldn't want to take it as such especially knowing that the risk is high and you could lose everything and need to be prudent about this whole venture of fun.

it's quite difficult to pinpoint how much i gamble in 1 month because it varies, but it's not that much compared to how much money i make in 1 month. i can say that my gambling is not aggressive enough, but other people can say that it is aggressive, because whether it is aggressive or not depends on the person who judges it, for example if i spend 100 usd on my gambling, maybe the person who makes a month is around 200 usd will judge that my gambling is quite aggressive, even though i make 2000 usd in a month, for example like that.
Agreed, gambling profits can never be fixed!

You could have a good run today and end the month in profits but the following month you could try your luck and end up losing which makes this a constantly fluctuating business ...

580  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino vs. Stoc,Forex&Crypto Broker: Who's Really Playing You in the Money Game on: January 25, 2024, 05:51:01 PM
You know how casinos lay it all out, they're taking a gamble just like us? But get this, brokers might just be outdoing them in their own sly way. I’m saying brokers might actually be worse. Why? They’ve got this neat, little setup where they rake in their shares through bid-offer spreads and commissions, all while carrying zero market risk.
I believe you got this broker thing all wrong!!

From my experience from using different brokers, if you looking for tight spreads when it comes to executing trades..most likely you will encounter commissions which will be higher as a service for executing a trade or using their  platform, and btw depends on what assets you trade, but it doesn't cost an arm and a leg and if you don't want to miss trades, or not tagged into a trade better pay these small fees!!!

As for gambling, it's usually based on what you see is what you get but unfortunately the risk here is high but at the end of the day pick something that works for you!!!
