DAMN! i just realized there were 4 games in AFCON, on the question i thought it was 3 games so that's why i answered 6 or less, I need to learn and read properly 😂 There are 4 goals already and 2 games to go.
But I still have faith in United and Barcelona today. Good luck slackovic in a few hours we will have the answer to who will win this round😁

Man United have started the match in quite a very bright manner, and were able to score an early goal to take the lead, it's not over yet but I prefer having Man United in the lead than behind, a win for Man United will surely help bolster my goal difference for the week, and I'll take everyone I can get, honestly.

EDIT:
I've barely been allowed to submit my post before Tottenham scored an equalizer, it's one goal apiece, right now!

That's how the Bucks valued Giannis that even his brother get signed just to retain Giannis. With the contract extention he signed last year, that could also mean that Thanasis will continue to be with the team for a while. Besides, if I am in charge on the Bucks to sign a players, I would still do the same as Giannis is still on his prime and he is making the Bucks a championship team.
It's funny because Giannis demanded a better roster before the contract extension but he still wants to keep the useless Thanasis? He was instrumental in that championship run but he has to stop "blackmailing" the management.

Quote
It does not only happen with the Bucks, as team like Miami Heat had signed player that aren't even playing at all. If you still remember Udonis Haslem, he's been with the Heat as part of the roster but we didn't even see him play, but that was before he announced his retirement last year.

Udonis Haslem, NBA's oldest player, retires from Heat after 20 seasons
It's a completely different case. This is like Heat paying tribute to Haslem's past contributions. What's Thanasis done for the Bucks to deserve that spot?

Thanasis as almost everyone would agree is the bargaining chip that Milwaukee are using to keep Giannis, it's neither ethical nor professional, but I'd say if the organization believe that's what keeping their biggest assets' head in the game and are fine with it then I mean it's their decision, what is Robin Lopez doing on the roster as well ? and It's not as though Thanasis is on a relevant pay, I will probably his getting paid to be the team's and his brother's biggest cheer leader courtside.

I wouldn't blame Giannis for the Bucks decision to keep Thansis, they're not obligated to do so, If they can't make a decision of waiving Thanasis because how Giannis would feel or take it, then it's the management's fault not that of Giannis, because for all we know Thanasis is making less than 5% of Giannis is earning, and who knows if Thanasis contract is behind the scene at the expense of Giannis' and Thanasis is only getting paid from what could have been a potential addition to Giannis' deal (I'm not sure if such a thing exist NBA, but if players like Lebron and KD have reportedly being said to call the shots on players who should get traded in their own team, I won't be surprised Thanasis part of Giannis' contract with the Bucks).

Nigeria have the quality of players required to win AFCON, but then I don't fully trust the team structure and chemistry because Nigeria are never consistent with having players that are called up being determined by tactical preference or these players form, and there is no specific national team starting xi based on the how often the guys play together during the international break. However, from the first game, I'm sure we'll know what to expect going forward, Nigeria is never a team that should be rated by their performance in a friendly match.

We're underway already and Cote d'Ivoire have had themselves a very early lead, that's leaving me optimistic about my 3-0 prediction...
Speaking of the super Eagles in this Afcon, they got a good calibre of players, but the Portuguese coach may try to play something different considering the injury in the team leaving only Osimhen as the favorite striker. Am also concerned about the midfielders, there may not be any good creative play if one lacks and that's a concern that may be capitalized on by their opponents in their first leg match.

Nigeria should get an easy win against Equatorial Guinea today, I'm quite certain, and I've backing the ~1.50 Odds ML here, the group stage should be an easy path for the Super Eagles, I have absolutely no doubt on that, my concern was about heading the deep into the competition and possibly triumphing all the way, easier said than done right ?
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 14, 2024, 02:45:15 AM
Only problem, KDB is damn good player and he outscored Alvarez by 10 points today. He needed 20 minutes for 12 points, pure class. And he could have gotten even more if Alvarez scored on his assist.

And I still don't want him until he builds his match fitness which could end up being problematic for me since everyone will buy him after today.

Watching KDB come on today and changing the game with that Goal and assist to help city wrap up another 3 points on the road was more than enough reason for me to get him. I'm sure a lot of people are. His price is about to add +0.1 in the coming week as managers flock in to sign him.

Now that the Double Game week for City has been announced (at gw 25), Getting KDB now might be a risk worth taking if he ends up delivering points in those two fixtures.

I'm one of the managers that would be getting him, DeBruyne have just reminded us that he doesn't need 90 minutes to have is finger and footprints all over an entire game. Looks like there is no need to overthink what could happen to Sallah in the next few game weeks whether or not his team gets eliminated in the group stage, there is no reason no to have KDB now, I'd agree too. However, if game week 25 is the only why anyone else wants to get, he would cost just one transfer too, so why sweat over that rn ?

Frankly I wasn't thinking that the interest in AFCON would be this high. It is quite pleasing to see that there is a crowd of people who want to join nearly every pool on the forum from now on. I hope that we can reach much higher numbers in time. I hope that we can watch an AFCON with more goals this time. My favourite for the championship is Nigeria this year.
And people are still signing up, I had several more during the day so we are now well over 20.

I don't think Nigeria has what it takes to win AFCON. Their defense is simply not good enough for me. Few minutes left till it starts...

In the end we will have a couple of people paying in USDT, I don't see any other way then using that budget for one of the lower rewards. Just hope that person that lands on that position will not be a BTC maxi but if he is maybe we can find some other solution. For instance I don't care if I am getting USDT or BTC so if I end up in the money (I will not), I would gladly offer a chance to convert on the fly.

I check the game between China and Tajikistan, China are just the favorite by the book, they really don't look like a team that could get a win against Tajikistan, I have the match to end as Draw, but I just might be tempted to put a few bucks on Tajikistan here, they've been the better side even for the  approximate 5 minutes I spent to see if they stats are somewhat justified on score808.

Here is the stats on 60th minutes mark and yeah Tajikistan are way better. Im not gonna talk about all those shot off goal but look at that all goal attempts from Tajikistan. I dont really watch the game but China must have been so bad judging only by the statistics. Im not gonna complain if the game ended with a draw

The game ended in a Draw, and my almost flawless game week continues, I've gotten 5 of the 6 questions determined so far correctly, it's a 5-1 advantage for me, so I've officially won the round, with 3 questions to spare, I couldn't have asked for a better game week to be very honest, because I really need this goal difference too opportunity.

Elsewhere in the snooker masters, O'Sullivan is very likely heading for the finals, he's having a 3-1 advantage at the moment.

Haaland looks like a certainty (if finally fit), and most of us will probably rotate between Alvarez, Foden and KDB.

A switch or double from Man City is very probable move given the trend and performance ahead of that game week, the only certain one is Haaland, as you said, "If fit!". Because Guardiola could switch to his trend of benching Foden (as he did past the half of last, for no understandable reason) and should KDB be firing on all cylinders, it could happen sooner than later, but I'm leaning more towards getting a defender from City too, the rotation policy is just rather too much and none of their defenders have been of great attacking return, along with the fact that keeping a clean sheet seem to be new rocket science.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 13, 2024, 05:58:23 AM
Oh great to know that KDB is already recovered but his price is still over 10. I thought his price would be lowered because he is out for like half of the season.
Price is influenced just by transfers in or transfers out. KDB price was never going down a lot since he was never really popular this season. If he was 70% owned before the injury we would have seen a lot of price drops.

KDB should have the no brainer replacement for Sallah straightaway but biggest concern is Guardiola, how well he would use KDB consistently after such a long layoff, we know how much of a roulette player Guardiola, I don't mind missing out one week haul of KDB to be sure that Guardiola wouldn't be having off and on, so I'll stick to keeping Foden + Alvarez as my City duo for now.

Hey guys, what are your plans for the double game week on GW25? The second double game week of the season  has just been announced and Man city will play out their outstanding match with Brentford.

Personally, I'm thinking of bringing in City + Brentford players into my team prior to that game week. If I'm unable to garner enough free transfers to bring in those players, I'll just make use of my free hit. It seem like the perfect opportunity.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts  Smiley

Toney + Haaland + Foden + KDB I guess?

Now a whole lot of brentford attacking options to choose from.

Ivan Toney surely is a player to consider, I would have made a room for him on team, If hadn't hop on the Jarred Bowen bandwagon, Brentford have a tough series of fixtures going forward but Toney remains their biggest goal threat, especially with both Mbeumo and Wissa out, there is literally no one else to lookout for in the Brentford team, the only reason for concern could be his price at 7.9m
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 13, 2024, 02:59:07 AM
No Embiid, no problem for Sixers. Harris and Maxey play at All-Star level. Batum is on fire behind 3-pt line. Paul Reed is pretty good at both offense and defense. Even rotation players like Pat Bev and Mo Bamba were good. Fox and Sabonis are unrecognizable tonight. It's gonna be an easy win for Sixers after three losses in a row.

20 points lead with 4:09 left to play, it’s going to be a well deserved win for the 76ers, they stay locked from the very first quarter and never really let Sacramento Kings to get back into the game, limiting the Kings Dynamic Duo in Fox and Sabonis to a very low scoring game made it all possible for them, Sabonis had was just 2 or was it 3 field goal attempts in the first half. I don’t think I’ve seen him had less all season long.

I regret that I didn't take selby on the snooker question and that I didn't answer NO on the handball question, I should have just trusted my gut😂😁

I thought I was the only one who initially had Mark Selby, I had Selby and O'Sullivan as my finalists and O'Sullivan to win the title up until when I was about to submit my answers, I then at that final moment throw in my caution card to go with Judd Trump, It's not the first time trump is letting me down though, but at least this time around my opponent also had Trump too, but I would have been able to put this round away sooner if I had stick to Selby over Trump.

Croatia is have taken a 7-6 lead in the Waterpolo game against Greece, I hope Croatia can see this through, honestly, I had Spain, Croatia and Italy on a Yes, while Greece and Serbia were a No, No for me, I didn’t, my opponent had an all Yes answer, so the worse I can do for this question is a draw, but with a Croatia win that’d put at 3 answers advantage with 4 different questions left, So this is the penultimate blow I need to deal my opponent and look forward to next game round already.

It's 9-6 now at the start of the last quarter. I guess I will lose this point as well because I had Croatia not to qualify for the semifinals and Serbia to qualify. I didn't check how many different answers Slissy and I have but I'm not liking my odds in this round Sad

Seems like it!

Croatia have stepped on the gas pedal, they just scored another goal to make it 10-6 as they began the 4th, there is no way back from this, I must say.

You might just want to check the spreadsheet for the differences and know whether or not to move on and start getting prepared for the next round.

I think this round is already in the books for me 😄😄

I said it early man, im completly cursed, a WALKOVER , incredible i dont see so much light at the end of the tunnel. I see another opponent of my scoring against me 5+ correct answer.

I'm 2 points ahead and hold an advantage on the Spanish Super Copa, so yeah, I feel like I'm in a great position. I'm not looking at the sheet too carefully but if Barca win, the worst I can do here is a draw. I'd really like the win to put some distance betwixt myself and relegation but my target is to draw every remaining round.

Trump is trailing 1 frame... spelling disaster for my Trump winner pick, but he does like to play catch up so fat lady is far from singing. But yeah, need Croatia to lose to secure my winning point... sorry Cro2 I have to root for Greece.

Unlike buwaytress, my target is to get a W the rest of the season 😉

I can't believe the temporary result of the bucks vs boston celtic. until the 3rd quarter, they lost 100-62. the squad is equal but I can't believe that they can lose so badly and be so far behind. boston celtic's game today is really bad.

Must be something in the air tonight. The Portland Trail Blazers are down by more than 60 to the Oklahoma City Thunder with a few minutes to go. I can’t remember the last time I saw a beat down that bad. Hard to believe they’re even running up the score that much.

OKC vs Portland really was something.
Up 36 at halftime the odds for OKC to win the 3rd have been around 1.75, even though they still played their starters.
And what followed was a 43:17 beatdown quarter yet again, easy money.

For a while I thought OKC might now aim for the reverse record. OKC holds the record for the biggest loss in NBA history losing 79 : 152 vs Memphis.
Would have been fun to see them get the record for the highest win ever as well but unfortunately 11 points to tie is were missing. If they played their starters in the 4th this would surely have been possible but I guess fair play (makes sense ) got in the way.

Yes, OKC really would have stood a chance to clinch the reverse record for themselves, it would have been a thing to see, and meanwhile, for OKC, they had the luxury of having their starters play longer minutes in the 4th Quarter as they are not having a back to back fixture, while Trailblazers are up for what could be another round of serious bashing as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow, I really don't think this kind of score line would be a boost of confidence when playing against the best defensive team in the league this season.

....And another El Classico final it is!
I know for sure that I will support Real Madrid in Super Cup this weekend, but I heard Barcelona signed some new star player from Brazil.
Anyone knows who this is?

Obviously, my support would be for Barcelona as I've also picked in the Google form as my answer, while my opponent is on the other side of the pick alongside with you.

I've not been following the Football transfer window just yet, there are just so many things to keep up with, even in football with all other competitions starting in a few days I expected a more slow transfer market for the top leagues until everything are back to normal, that said I don't know the Barcelona might have signed but he's not going to be having any impact in the super cup, I'm very sure of that.

Yeah, luck had its part to play in the question but then that's just tennis as usual a lot of uncertainties, 0-1 pick was a very easy decision to make regardless of whether it was an ATP 250 event, I really didn't anticipate much from the top 4 candidate, and I even expected logistical issues and whatnot to be hinderance for one of them at least  Wink

Please enlighten me with the 'science behind that easy 0-1 pick because I totally have no clue about this at all. I mean tennis' questions result are weird most of the time with favourites losing to a non favourites but on a lower event like ATP 250, I was kinda expecting that these top candidate would make it somehow but I decided to stick with 2 which is literally half of it expecting that its gonna hit but nope no luck on this question

I just cant seems to pick the best answers on tennis question somehow

I said it earlier before the deadline of the round, that there are a lot of question for this round that are more logically probable than relying on a random Yes / No to win the round. And the biggest testament to that is the waterpolo question and tennis (maybe a little luck was needed here). In Tennis, seeding is just a draw format that is often pointless over a period of time, and it guarantees nothing because the difference between the no 1 and 2 seed in tournament could be a 100s places.

Hopefully, Barcelona will also be able to reach the final and we will see the ElClásico match again.

....And another El Classico final it is!

Ben Shelton gets a straight set win, but Norrie have lost his match, with a walkover awarded to his opponent, that leaves us with 0-1 as the correct answer, and as such I’ve gotten a wider edge for the week, to go along with the Serie A 0-5 teams to score 1+ goals answer, getting Waterpolo h2h now could surely be the end to this game week in my favour, I’ll rather keep my hope moderately high for now.

Oh thank you god finally I have 1 point. I thought Norrie was the easiest one to be honest and then this magical thing happens, well I won't complain I'll take walkovers, forfeits everything and anything. Finally 1 point, and thankfully cryptofrka has 0 points.

Its a long way to go but I'm so glad I didn't think about tennis. I got fooled way too many times by seeds to choose even 2 now.

Damn, you were sooo lucky with this one Grin
Norrie was a finalist there 2 years in a row and his match was against a player from the qualifiers.

Still a long way to go until then, but if I drop out of the league because of this one, I'm gonna go mad.

On ATP, one of us will get a point. Only Shelton and Norrie left and both should have a result over the next 10 hours or so, by the time I wake up. They're the top seeds but I have hope in their failure Wink

I guess I can say Kevin Durant practically understands that to build a championship team now is not about trying to buy one outrightly and more about building around perhaps a few, but core franchise players and looking back at last few trades and how much is left of his career, he’ll never be able to find the needed chemistry if he keeps getting traded at every deadline and only plays about 30-40% with supposedly co-championships worthy players that are being trade for as well.

He learn it the hard way when he did get out of the Warriors move to the Nets and then he thought that they have build a good and championship caliber team with Kyrie and then James Harden. However, they don't have the a solid team, with Claxton still very raw talent that time and the Joe Harris, on and off with injuries.

So had matured already and we all know that he is not getting any younger that another trade might take him 3-4 years of rebuilding a championship team. It's a good mentality for him to stick around with the Suns and him and Booker trying to bring the best of each other.

And the fact they Warriors have won championships even after he left would have taught him that while everyone have seen what the Phoenix Suns were a few seasons ago even with Mikael Bridges and Cam Johnson being their very next 2 go to guys, and now that they have what seemed like just a lot whatifs and buts while teams that look the best to win the championship really are those building their chemistry over seasons and not just overnight.
