581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF Discussion on: December 05, 2023, 01:45:40 AM
Does everyone remember the intern who mistakenly posted that Blackrock's ETF was already approved by the SEC and caused a pump? Heheheh I just remembered after witnessing bitcoin on $40k.

In any case, the odds for Blackrock's approval might go higher after the news that it has met with the SEC. And it appears that they have also made some changes in some of the iterations in their application to please uncle Gary.

BlackRock has submitted revisions to its spot Bitcoin ETF application to the SEC in an attempt to allay the regulator’s concerns over market manipulation and broker-dealer registrations, according to meeting minutes between the asset manager and the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets dated Nov. 28, 2023.

BlackRock’s proposed solution modifies the current in-kind redemption model that would have the offshore market maker entity prepay cash to the registered broker-dealer entity prior to the delivery of ETF shares during the redemption process. This “prepaid model” aims to isolate the broker-dealer on its balance sheet from risks associated with transferring Bitcoin to the market maker.

Additionally, BlackRock argues that retaining an in-kind structure, even with alterations, provides benefits over shifting to a cash redemption method, including lower transaction costs, simpler operations, and resistance against manipulation schemes. The asset manager believes addressing the balance sheet and broker-dealer registration dependencies directly through adjusted timing and custody transfers allows the Bitcoin ETF application to clear regulatory procedures while optimizing shareholder incentives.

The market certainly is showing that the approval for the ETF is almost a certainty. However, if approved, will the market continue to pump higher or will it react similar to sell the news and dump?
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 05, 2023, 12:59:59 AM
One month before the fight, here is the official poster,

However, I don't the video promotion though, there's no highlight for Tapales, he was just shown briefly when he steps on the ring after Inoue defeated Fulton.

Top Rank should have done better than this, https://twitter.com/trboxing/status/1729289372305084627

I cannot believe this fight has less than 1 month of waiting! Does anyone have news updates, articles of boxing analysts and promotional videos? Also, are there videos of their training sessions? I reckon Marlon might be training more for stamina and he might have a style that will take him to a decision very much similar to Nonito Donaire hehe. I am a fan of Inoue, however, I want to watch a thrilling fight between these 2 champions. Also if anyone has observed from my posts, I also like underdogs hehehehe.

Unfortunately, not much of a video coming from Tapales camp, in any case, here is one,

https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/11/30/23/boxing-marlon-tapales-on-the-verge-of-making-history

It's from a local tv station from the Philippines. Yeah, for sure, who wouldn't love the underdogs? we've seen great live underdogs in the past and betting on them is a huge risk, but for guys like you, it's going to be worth taking that risk, hehehe.

I am not yet sure if I will bet on Marlon Tapales because Inoue's boxing dominance is clearly only beginning hehe. However, I reckon within 10 years if Inoue still active and a young and hungry fighter moves up in the sport of boxing, this might be the right time to start betting against him. A storyline that will be something similar to Barrera vs. Pacman hehehe.

That's still a long way to go though, 10 years of pure dominance, I don't know if there will be such fighter to do that. Only fighter we have seen is Manny, although he has lost along the way but dominated boxing in different era.

But obviously, it's a cycle, when the great are already in a decline, sooner or later there will be young fighters that are going to move up and beat them. Just like what Manny did to Barrera and so other many great fighters, as if passing the torch to them.

Similar to what I have said there is usually a younger fighter who will takeover and take the crown of the older fighter. But there are exceptional cases like Floyd Mayweather. However, Floyd is smart with his money, this is why he can avoid the fights that will put his undefeated record at risk.

I reckon a fighter presently who might be a victim of the news throwing out the old is Canelo. Benavidez will certainly come for him hehehe.

In any case, on Maron. I read this news update and it appears that his sparring partner thinks that Marlon might be very underestimated.

Fellow Filipino Jonjon Estrada, who has sparred some torrid sessions with Tapales, is picking his countryman to get the win next month, either by KO or by decision. “He is in very good condition,” Estrada said to GMA News. “His punches surprised me because speed and power are there. Nothing is impossible if [Inoue] brawls with Tapales. But even if they finish the rounds (and go the distance) I would still go with Tapales because he never lets up, punches a lot, closes the distance, and he is aggressive. I do not believe the people who say that [Tapales has no chance against Inoue] because he is a two-division champion and he is training hard. He is preparing hard and [is] ready to fight. From what I experienced in sparring, he is very strong.”

Is this only hype? I ask because Filipino fighters are not known to hype themselves or their fellow fighters.
583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance reaches deal to pay $4.3B settlement to American regulators on: December 04, 2023, 06:28:43 AM
@AmoreJaz. Also, it appears that there are many people in the forum who underestimate Binance's revenues and cashflows. These rumors of insolvency are only either fud or they are being supported by people who are hoping or wanting that Binance become insolvent hehehe.

In any case, people have the right to hate CZ. However, if he did not leave Binance and plead guilty, it would have been worse for the users of Binance, the exchange and the cryptospace.

CZ's last sacrifice was himself.

584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 04, 2023, 05:37:05 AM
That knee that Tsarukyan has lendec is 100% trained in Tiger Muay Thai, place were spends most of his camp time. However, that right straight that he landed after I think dazed Dariush even more. Imho a well deserved 4th place in a lightweight ranking. Who is next for Arman? Poirier or Gaethji? Do Bronx (whos gonna probably win and have a chance for a rematch with Makhachev)?

Actually, that knee got some reaction from Beneil Dariush but not pure damage just a reaction for Dariush getting away, but that straight right punch was something, an indicator that Arman Tsarukyan punches are not just a walk in the park, and there is power within it, the thing that I like about Arman Tsarukyan was his speed for sure that speed was really crashing it because that speed on the Lightweight division was really a dangerous thing for sure I want to see Tsarukyan against top 3 fighters in the Lightweight before getting into Islam Makhachev,

That was one quickly finished main event and win for Arman, I expected to see more resistance from Dariush but I think he is past his prime.

More important than all fights this week is comments from Dana White who was talking about PFL purchasing Bellator saying that one shit organization purchased another shit organization!
Please someone remind him that Francis Ngannou is there with Criss Cyborg and many other champions, and more of them will sign up soon, so his ufc slave exploits are almost over.
Dana White is worried big time now!  Grin

Watch for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpFDjtad_aQ

Just like what I thought might happen to see Beniel Dariush defeated by Charles Oliveira that easily, for sure I have bet on Tsarukyan because I have seen similarities and Oliveira and Tsarukyan, not the BJJ or wrestling but the aura of a champion for sure I have noticed that Arman Tsarukyan had the power to knockout Beneil Dariush and I am sure about that,

Well, All Dana White can do is mock the PFL and Bellator organization, which he will eventually regret sure, I don't really want the UFC to be dropped the number 1 spot but if Dana White keeps on doing this kind of shit then he will likely plummet down, and yeah fighters from the UFC might sign in there and because of that 1 time 1 million fight the PFL is offering,

So many bonuses and I think they really deserve it to get their bonus from the UFC,

PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Beneil Dariush vs. Arman Tsarukyan   |   $50,000 bonus to Tsarukyan
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Jalin Turner vs. Bobby Green   |   $50,000 bonus to Turner
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Sean Brady vs. Kelvin Gastelum   |   $50,000 bonus to Brady
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Punahele Soriano vs. Dustin Stoltzfus   |   $50,000 bonus to Stoltzfus
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Miesha Tate vs. Julia Avila   |   $50,000 bonus to Tate
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Cody Brundage vs. Zach Reese   |   $50,000 bonus to Brundage
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Joe Solecki vs. Drakkar Klose   |   $50,000 bonus to Klose
FIGHT OF THE NIGHT
Ihor Potieria vs. Rodolfo Bellato   |   $50,000 bonus to each fighter
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT
Wellington Turman vs. Jared Gooden   |   $50,000 bonus to Gooden

However, is uncle Dana's mockery of the PFL's merger with Bellator a marketing strategy to promote the superfight that he is presently teasing with MMA news media? What might be this superfight? This article has asked a good question. What would make a fight a superfight for the fans in the modern age of MMA? Has uncle Dana spoken to Francis Ngannou and the PFL?

In a recent interview, UFC CEO Dana White teased that he is working on a “superfight” for 2024, which has sparked some conversation. What could the fight White says he’s trying to put together be, and what actually constitutes a superfight in today’s modern age of MMA?

According to @WhaleChart in social media, one of our favorite uncles has mentioned that we should buy bitcoin, but stay away from altcoins hehehehe. I reckon for inverse Cramer followers this will certainly imply a pump on altcoins hehe.

Let's hope the matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks isn't the same in the scoring department for tonight's game.

The Cowboys are the heavy favorites with their record and having home field advantage. But can you really count out Geno Smith in this one? Maybe the handicap is at play for this TNF clash:

Here are the markets:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/american-football/usa/nfl/dallas-cowboys-v-seattle-seahawks-655cfa6a34ce9a0001128ede

Hehehe Geno Smith is one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. He is also not the Seahawks' real QB1, he was only a reserve quarterback. It was Russell Wilson who was their real QB1, however, he was traded to the Broncos and the Seahawks had no other choice but Geno.

I am quite certain the Seahawks will draft a quarterback for their first pick next year.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: December 03, 2023, 07:31:03 AM
@danherbias07. I thought Bobby Green was only doing a dance similar to Muhammad Ali where he only pretends his opponent's power punch was making his knees weak. I was very shocked to see that the knees were in reality weak hehehehe. I really wished Bobby Green would give the fans another upset win vs. another fighter who is better than him. However, he did not get lucky hehehehe. Also, Jalin Turner made it appear that he is not a weakling like Bobby Green's other opponent Grant Dawson who was knocked out with 1 punch hehe.
589  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: December 03, 2023, 06:54:31 AM
Uncle Gary's SEC mafia appears to have been scolded by a judge for giving false information. This type of trickery is beginning to become more noticeable and it appears that different judges have been not agreeing to their statements and their methods.

I speculate on 2024 we might witness more requests to remove Uncle Gary from office. There are lawmakers that have proposed to cut his salary to $1.

A judge rebuked the SEC over its conduct involving crypto firm DEBT Box, saying the agency had made “materially false and misleading representations” in order to freeze the company’s assets, Fortune reported.

In August, the SEC alleged DEBT Box had defrauded investors out of $50 million, obtained a temporary restraining order and seized company assets.

US District Judge Robert Shelby explained in a filing this week that he had granted the SEC’s urgent request because it claimed DEBT Box had closed bank accounts within the previous 48 hours in preparation to move beyond the reach of US regulators, the report said.

The claim regarding bank accounts turned out to be false. Shelby said that some of the SEC’s arguments were “entirely without merit and misstate the record.” Still, research from blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs supported the SEC’s central allegation that DEBT Box misled investors, according to the report.

Sam Bankman Fried of FTX  and  Changpeng Zhao of Binance cases are of different ones. Though they are all criminal cases but Sam Bankrman project collapsed while Cz project is still active. Therefore if they will have punishment they will not have it in an equal way. Binance former CEO was fined to pay $4.3B for the crime committed. This money laundering issues that are coming up rampantly this days in the cryptocurrency ecosystem is the new method the government is using to shot down some projects and companies. Though it is good because it will make the cryptocurrency ecosystem free from money laundering.

We just thank God that Binance did not shot down the company because if they did, people would have lost money more than FTX.

I could not find the thread, however, there was someone in the forum who asked if CZ is being treated unfairly by the department of justice. The replies of some people saying that he was treated fairly were head shaking and it appears that they do not follow the news more closely.

CZ is certainly not being treated fairly compared to the penalties that were given to the executives of the traditional finance who were complicit to moneylaundering, stealing and scamming. What they were given was a slap on the wrist and a fine. No one was criminally indicted and no one was held legally responsible.

Also, the cryptocurrency ecosystem will not be free from moneylaundering because CZ stepped down hehehe. It will continue.

Correct they (money laundering people) will find another way.

In the 90's and early 00's. Many towns in the USA had Chinese all you can eat buffets. Most close when btc and other coins did well.

So here in the USA you can bet more Chinese buffets will open back up.

My argument is not about how moneylaunderers would try to find another method of laundering their funds. The argument is how those people behind HSBC or Goldman Sachs are not treated in a similar way as CZ. Have we witnessed a CEO of a big bank go to prison? No, however, if it is a CEO from the cryptospace they would put him to prison.

Why did this Goldman Sachs CEO did not go to prison after a guilty plea?

An ex-Goldman Sachs banker who pleaded guilty to conspiring to steal money from Malaysia’s state investment fund said Goldman’s “culture” encouraged executives to work around the legal team to score business.

It was “very much in line of its culture of Goldman Sachs to conceal facts from certain compliance and legal employees,” said Tim Leissner, Goldman’s former Southeast Asia chairman, in his guilty plea from August, which was unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn Friday.

Leissner admitted that he hid from Goldman the fact that Malaysian financier Jho Low secured business for the bank by bribing officials in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi. The US government alleges Low played a central role in a scheme to launder billions of dollars from the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund, 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

@arabspaceship123. I am not quite certain if you are updated on the news, however, FTX was a scam from the beginning. It was going to die with or without CZ's dump on FTT. Also, if you were CZ and knew Sam was scamming and you hold Binance's billions in FTT, would you dump it or not? The answer would certainly be yes.

What is everyone's assessment on the Bengals vs. the Jaguars? I am very much aware that the Bengals are nothing without Joe Burrow, however, can the Jaguars win against the spread with 9.5 in this game? Bengals +9 might cover, I reckon.

Also, the Lions -4.5? This might be a good opportunity to for them to come back and win after their loss against the Packers.

Why was this thread transfered to scam accusations? Kyber did not scam. It was hacked and had $50 million stolen from the DEX. This is clearly not their fault.

In any case, this is funny. This picture is being shared in social and if this is real it appears that the hacker has declared himself the director of the DEX hehehehe.

"Zhao was released under a $175 million bond that requires him to return to the U.S. 14 days before his sentencing date, which is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2024. In his comments, Stark noted that Judge Richard Jones is expected to consider the government’s motion on Nov. 27, possibly strengthening the bail requirements through additional bond conditions or delaying a decision."

I think that CZ will still pay off with a lot of money. And if you are wondering who will be in charge in the US market, then look at who BlackRock is investing in.
The correct answer is Coinbase!

Agreed. Similar to what I have been saying before, Coinbase is Blockrock's partner for their ETF, being their custodian. Blackrock might have also invested in Coinbase's stock which might make them a stockholder and they might have voting rights on the exchange.

In any case, there might be another company in danger of being attacked and this is Tether. Blackrock has invested and also partnered with Circle the issuer of USDC. I will not be shocked if Blackrock is trying to kill the competition of their partners first before the final scheduled date of approval for their ETF.

well it will depend on your intentions

if you plan on using cryptocurrency for your business that will require you transactions with other clients, monero might not be the best choice for you however like you said monero is famous for its  privacy that it’s considered the most anonymous cryptocurrency right now

while btc is decentralized, monero is still far more private

However, in reality it is arguable because regulators can crackdown on your business for accepting a cryptocoin that cannot be placed under their surveillance. I reckon to use Monero, you should also be anonymous. This coin is not for legal businesses because it will only a risk to be harrassed by the government. How many exchanges have delisted Monero because of this?

For the Coiners to clinch they'll need two wins, or one win and one loss for all the 6-6 teams.

Even if Coiners manage to hang on to 4th place they'll get crushed in the first playoff game by Mo's freight train.

We need participation trophies, something soft and cuddly to hug while crying for the next eight months.

If everyone agrees to join the fantasy league for next season, can we pick the draft order earlier? These 8 months will be very slow and long.
