581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: April 16, 2018, 02:51:03 PM
@jiggytom

With the next protocol upgrade is that when people who have downloaded content on their computers get compensated small amounts of lbry for holding those files?

Feel like that will really spark the number of downloads to the app.
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 16, 2018, 02:24:25 PM
OK here we go, they promised announcements of partnerships this year, here is one of them. Take note all this hype around coins like verge, just to announce "1" partnership meanwhile several other projects are already announcing with no hype and not asking for coins to do it.

"FPT and Factom Announce Partnership to Expand Blockchain-as-a-Service" - from Bitcoin magazine

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/fpt-and-factom-announce-partnership-expand-blockchain-service/

“The partnership between Factom and FPT is a valuable opportunity to showcase the practical use and applications for blockchain technology on an enterprise scale. FPT and Factom share a vision of the future where blockchain-as-a-service is available to all companies looking to preserve, ensure and validate their data or decisions.”

Do your own research, but the links are all there.
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: April 16, 2018, 02:17:35 PM
A good coin, invested half a year ago, but so far I have not received any profit, but I still believe that there will be x
A good coin for what? In fact you just said if waves doesn't give anything for you while you can generate generous amount of money when you are investing in the another new platform just like zilliqa or other.
I just curious how could you called that as a good coin when the platform is completely garbage with so many scam coin in there.

You do realize that ethereum literally has ponzi smart contracts built on it right? And that millions of dollars were stolen in 2017 due to ICO scams built on ethereum? Yet i bet you wouldn't call ethereums platform garbage.

Its open source man anyone can code up a smart contract, waves isn't responsible for anything built on it. But eventually there will be better management of token economies, we see this with projects like ICX and DRGN chain, incubating whats built on their platforms.

MAsternodes release on 20th April, according to coindar?

coinciding with 4.20..What a perfect date.. Grin

Please let me know with the source.
I would not believe if you provide fake information.
But if you give me the source I will believe it.

https://coindar.org/en/event/potcoin-pot-masternodes-7716?utm_referrer=web.telegram.org

Is this real?

Yaaaa I don't know....feel like your trying to pull some strings here. I don't know much about coindar but it looks like anyone can just throw some stuff up there, who knows if that post is actually verifiable from a pot dev.

And there is no talk on any of their social pages about this....I want to believe you but i feel its just a ploy to try to get more of a pump leading up to 4/20
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: margin - Bitcoin Trading Bot: Binance, Bittrex, HitBTC, Poloniex, Bitfinex... on: April 13, 2018, 09:05:04 PM

586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: April 13, 2018, 09:02:35 PM
Why this pump ?

Yes, what was the news that caused this coin to go up so dramatically?

It was probably the release of Brass (mainnet i guess)...also it got several articles covering the release so that aided the price action. It's one of the oldest ERC-20 projects out there.

The whole coinbase thing is just pure speculation, the coinbase CEO even said that there will be coins added to the back-end exchange GDAX that WILL NOT be available for the custodial side of coinbase where you can buy with a bank account and credit/debit card.

My guess is that they will add a handful of ERC20s to GDAX rather than just a single token, eventually the hype of getting added will dwindle as many many more are added to GDAX and it will finally be more of an altcoin exchange.....but hey don't get all worked up. Chances are coinbase probably won't add anything until the SEC comes out with more guidance...personally i think ETC has the best chance of getting added to the custodial side first.
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | Generous Reward Staking | Advanced Staking Controls & Wallet on: April 13, 2018, 08:55:38 PM
So this means either my clock is too slow or the block too fast.
What is the fault tolorance on the block time ?

this only means your wallet rejected some too optimistic blocks lol,
which is not abnormal for HYP, it may or may not point to a misbehavior.
many things could lead to excessive orphans - unstable clock, high system load, too complex wallet.dat, lunar eclipse, etc..

I am so iliterate when it comes to github, I know that there is usually a readme at the bottom of the code page but as far as getting around and seeing who is contributing and doing what im completely lost...would anyone who is more code inclined point me in the right directions as to where i can learn more about it?

how can someone who doesn't know code actually analyze what is happening on there?

"Is Golem GNT the dumbest project since the DAO?"

That is the title of this video below"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkGu8RAQJRw

I am curious to hear some thoughts on these critics.

For me Golem is one of the most overhyped projects in crypto. They collected hundreds of millions to create a toy for rendering using Blender.
Maybe they will find and develop more usecases for their system, but it took so long to get to Brass, that the perspective is really long long term.
Additionally people doubt it will work eventually. In the meantime enjoy the pump  Grin
they raised 8 million dollars, get your facts straight. its working fine.

The fact is they raised 820,000 ETH, and I doubt they sold all of it, so the value of the funds is much higher than $8M.
the fact is they raised $8 million dollars in 20 mins.  and yes correct it was 820,000 ETH  but its not a moving target. at ETH peak it was over 1.345 billion dollars,  now its $425 million. many believers apparently.  GOLEM market cap exactly as of now $429 million. cowinkydink?

I didn't intend to spread any FUD with my initial post, just wanted to get some opinions on the criticism...just want to clarify that.

But seeing the recent price action I think it's pretty safe to say people are interested,  whether it's all speculation or people seeing an actual use case is debatable.

I hold no GNT, nor am I speculating on it...I just know it's one of the oldest and first big projects built on ethereum.

It is always interesting to me that after a pump like it did there is always someone that comes to the BCT thread just to say its over hyped....none of those post were here last week before it popped off 50%+.....

BCO price is quite high... i am  looking to buy 10k coins at 0.30-0.5 $cent

It is and was very high....unfortunately I don't think your target is unreasonable. Chart looks pretty bad and is looking like it will just keep making lower lows....

Kind of getting disappointed in this, feel kind of stupid for creating staking positions months back.

They really need to get support for ERC-20 tokens going, whenever that happens it will be the only DEX besides komodo that can pretty much have anything listed....

Otherwise it will always be a refuge for clone coins that cant afford to get listed on bigger exchanges.

It looks like Cryptopia is back open for INSN trading business.

Top ten wallets hold 21.5% of the total supply, was there a small premine?

Is the initial dev team the same or was this coin launched then abandoned?

coin is swap from other coin, what was premined but coins were burned, I think thouse top 10 are mostly big holders. Couse all premined coins were burned before swap and admins have not been hording other coins but share alot of coins out from different event like quizes and faucets, so i dont belive someoe holds their coins unfairly.

Ok very good, like it that it was a swap/save from another coin, another good sign I think. Do you know what coin it was swapped from previously? Or was it always insane coin just swapped and dev team changed?

I'll have to do some more digging, but I wish that there was more thrown at this from cryptocoderz after John Oliver mentioned it coin on comedy central....regardless if he meant it as a joke that's huge publicity....doge is proof that any coin can succeed just based on enthusiasts

Was made a swap 1:1 to just implement masternodes from INSANE to INSN, last year.

Ah ok gotcha, so they basically launched a new chain for implementation of masternodes, diamond had to do the same thing. Interesting, will keep looking at this, may start buying for a masternode soon. Thanks for the info guys.

593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think ETC will BOOM again on: April 12, 2018, 04:45:29 PM
ETC is an obvious choice to get added to coinbase, many people may still hold etc on there from the DAO fork and may not have claimed it before the deadline.

Also circles big crypto app has support for BTC, BCC, LTC, ETH and....ETC, this is coinbase's biggest competitor at the moment being available in 48 states.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkGu8RAQJRw

I am curious to hear some thoughts on these critics.

They have no bloody idea what they are talking about.
It's like a cleaning lady commenting on quantum physics.

I don't know enough about Golem to make any kind of comment on whether its a good project or not. But did you listen to the video?

These guys aren't nobodies in the bitcoin community, jimmy song is a pretty prominent bitcoin dev and Tone is a highly respected trader and bitcoin supporter.....they are bitcoin maximalist though...

I'm a nobodies.

But I found the video to be weird, they are analyzing mostly based on third party article.

And they get stuck on weird terms. ex, "unused CPU Power".

You guys can check the https://golem.network/home/ scroll down to see what Golem is all about.

IMO, "unused CPU Power" is a bad description, but the guys make analysis as if that what Golem is all about, and saying how stupid it is for a project to expect people renting out their "unused CPU Power".

Ya after listening to it again it just seems like anymore Tone views it as an obligation to slam any kind of alternative project to bitcoin, they based their entire argument on the coindesk article. Even Jimmy says he didnt look too much into the project...

I just don't understand why some people within bitcoin always say anything other than bitcoin is a scam? Ya i get it, some ICOs were fraudulent but that doesn't mean every project is a stupid idea.

It's not just Golem, they don't spare any bones to even really fair coins like litecoin or monero..
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: April 12, 2018, 04:34:46 PM
I'm not a big fan of WAVES because I don't see any token that is successful compared to Ethereum. I suggest that they raise there standard to avoid scam token that is made from their platform. That way they can defeat or even surpass Ethereum.

You can't be serious, do you know how many fraudulent ICOs there have been in past year that were built on ethereum? Ever hear of P3d?! Literally a ponzi scheme smart contract built off ethereum.

Ethereum itself was an ICO back in 2014...

The chart on this one doesn't look bad...

It's also been around a lot longer than most masternode coins which is good I think.

But it's like 3 developers and 1 android developer between 6 different altcoin projects  Undecided

I admire what crytpocoderz are doing but it's hard to imagine this chain will get that much attention unless something is broken? How can I buy with confidence that progression will be made?

599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No listed on coinmarketcap on: April 11, 2018, 04:40:21 PM
CMC pulls data from exchanges, i think sometimes there is errors in-between somehow

There can be coins that would show market caps above 1 million but they are not technically listed

Sometimes if you search for the coin in the search bar and hit enter it will still show the coin but have a ? under marketcap

Even if the ajax doesn't populate the coin you are searching for it doesn't mean CMC doesn't have it cataloged

this coin will do very verrryyyy well in the near future, no doubt.

MN setup was easy and they're paying out well!  Cool

Good to see you here.

It's a solid coin man, mn setup way easier then most other coins, consistent and strong support from the community in discord and good development team. It has been one of my favorite masternode coins, hopefully in the future it will really stand out.
