Once the sync is done its not a problem. As its only a short space of time to update the sync per block. Running at 3.3v is fine for 99% of the time.

Noticed today that my Full Node keeps mining after the internet connection is lost. Was this not resolved on the latest update?
63  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience has a new stickminer that does 300+GH on: December 30, 2021, 09:03:17 AM

Yes, I am using this:
Quote
sudo ./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333  -u xxx.xxx -p xxxx --gekko-compacf-freq 200  --gekko-compacf-detect --suggest-d
iff 256

Read PAGE 4 of the thread. Try adding the “tune2” and “mine2” arguments. Also what hub are you using?

Thank you.  Yes, I had just created a conf file based on page 4 of this thread, with all the same settings [except pool, user and pass].
My USB hub is an Anker powered hub, but I will try an different one - power could be the problem

Yea that is most definitely the problem. I last used an anker hub for the original Compacs. They didnt like it so got the gekko hub. That seems to be the only one robust enough for the Ferraris.

Unfortunately you do have to allow for the “silicon lottery” as with all chips. Some will perform well, others not so much. I wouldn't increase the voltage pot anymore, have you tried reducing it lower than stock?
66  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: December 26, 2021, 11:10:06 PM
got 2 apollo btc units today.  one is working perfectly, the second one the fan spins up but the LED in front never turns on and its never detected by usb.  any ideas? thanks

Is the second unit a full unit or a “slave” unit?

Have you tried assigning it a static IP address on your router?
68  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: December 24, 2021, 07:53:06 PM

Hello guys, I have a problem... I have set my future bit apollo btc full node correctly, but after about ten minutes that it is connected to the pool it disconnects and I can no longer access it from the ip address; even the ip address disappears from the router, it does not detect it either via wifi or with an ethernet cable and I am forced to reset the router every time. Anyone have a solution? Thanks so much

Have you tried reflashing the SD card with the latest software?
69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: December 23, 2021, 03:51:56 PM
Do NOT update the OS on the SBC. It will end up with you having to reflash the SD card.

The later units did ship with a 1TB version. I just bought my own 1TB SSD and sold the 500GB drive to offset the cost.

I have no idea if there is a donation/dev fee in the background, but my hashrate tallies up with what I'm getting pool side so it leads me to believe that the answer is No.

I'm in the UK too and bought this with the knowledge that it will never be profitable. No mining is profitable in the UK really, well at least not to any great degree. These are hobby miners really and to help the decentralisation.

if i have 4 units, will a 1800w bitmain apw7 power supply be okay to use?  I have a couple extra and want to eliminate the individual 200w supplies.  just want to make sure nothing gets fried and it's compatible.  thanks!

Should be fine. The APW7 has PCIe power leads, two per Apollo and you're good to go.

update to the Full Package system...check your dashboards in the coming days for that yellow update button.

Well it seems I have an update button appear already. Now to press it or not to press it......What is the update for? What has it added/fixed?

That bitcoin merch hub is no good. Another member has been having problems with power delivery from it too. Get yourself a gekko hub.
73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience has a new stickminer that does 300+GH on: December 14, 2021, 05:21:54 PM
Have you tried upping the vcore voltage using the pot at the bottom right of the stick? Are the two new ones set at the same position as the “old” ones?

Hey guys can someone please explain this. GSF goes into zombie mode foe a few seconds then.the gminer hits me with GSF FAILURE  Disabling

GSF 10051114 : FOUND 0 CHIP(s)

I was mining just fine for my frist 24 then out yhe blue this happens.

sudo cgminer -o stratum+tcp://nl.kano.is:3333 -u Terabyte01.worker -p x --suggest-diff 442 --gekko-compacf-freq 400 --gekko-start-freq 300 --gekko-tune-up 85

Then I used all the other commands with the same issues even let sit off with no power for a few hours same thing.

What hub are you using? What OS are you using?
75  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience has a new stickminer that does 300+GH on: December 14, 2021, 06:25:02 AM

Gotcha, thats still sounds pretty sweet.  What's your hashrate if i may ask?

All six sticks combined get 2.06Th which is approximately 340Ghs a stick

It all depends how the the components are laid out on the pcb of the hub. On the gekko hub, sidehack put details on so you could see what ports shared with inductor(?). So you can adjust the speed and inturn the amperage to match it.

gotcha, ya i think im def getting the gekko hub.   it says it gets 6amps for each of the bottom 3 pairs, or 3amp per port.  If you only run 1 stick in each pair, will you get 6amps?  I was reading on here that if you have 5amps of power,  you can max these sticks out to 800mhz, 550 gh/s. So this hub would be great unless it maxes out at 3amps.  either way, 3amps is better than almost every other hub out there.

Theoretically you could pull 6amps per pair yes. BUT none of the components are rated as such. Usb sockets are only rated for 3amp max. After that its probably going to be dangerous. My gekko hub is running 6 sticks at 520m and thats as far as im going to push it. Its about 2.8amp per port (if i calculated correctly). So i have a little headroom.

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does anybody know which coin the Gekko Compac F can mine profitably? on: December 12, 2021, 11:27:45 AM
Take a look at various coin calculators online. Most will point you in the right direction. Obviously you can only mine SHA-256 algo coins though.
79  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing GekkoScience's new USB stick miner, the aptly-named NewPac on: December 01, 2021, 04:18:12 PM
Hello all I need some help setting up my Gekkoscience newpac with Antpool I can not get it to link to my account or even show any workers on the screen at all.
What is the best mining pool for the Gekkoscience newpac? Please someone help me

Any pool should accept the stick. The trouble with a big pool like Antpoo. Is that your stick is almost insignificant, so it will probably only show up once it has found a share at the diff dictated by the pool. How long did you leave it for before saying it doesnt work? does the stick hash at all? if so then it is working but its the pool side not picking it up. Just be patient.

Ok, si which hub Can I buy to run all of them at full speed?

Gekkoscience hub is the only one anyone here would recommend. Im running 6x CompacFs at 520m for 2Th.
