881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.6 (Windows/Linux) on: April 09, 2018, 12:51:11 PM
Just a query if anyone can help. I keep getting a “socket was closed remotely (by pool)” message come up since i restarted my rig. I havent changed any settings and my internet connection is working fine. I have contacted the pool (ethermine) but no response yet. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem lately?

Haven't ever seen it on ethermine, but I've seen it occasionally on nicehash when first starting up - seems to be a temporary "pool overloading on making new connections" issue, as it normally resolves itself in a few minutes.

Dropping the wait time down from the default 20 secs to 10 secs seemed to help a little, but that might have been a coincidence as I only tried that once.

I'm think Claymore dropped support for pre-GCN AMD cards somewhere along the line - he definitely has NOT added and has stated he has no plans TO add -asm cores for older cards so you might just need to reconfigure to "don't use ASM" on those.

Thank for the reply QuintLeo, im using 1070’s so havent got to worry about the AMD thing. Ive restarted the router, updated drivers to the wireless card and tried the US pool address aswell. Still the same problem. It means its registering 207mh but because of the connection issues its paying out for only 150mh effective hashrate.

Also shares seem to be in the 1500-2000ms+ range now rather than <100ms it was before.

I'm getting this error from the pool (when using the new "-pow7 1" in v4.0):

04/04/18-15:09:15 - SHARE FOUND (target 35000) - (THR 3 of 10)

- What's the problem?

- It's all ok if I don't use the -pow7.
(The pool says "Switch to new PoW now! - Before April 6:th")
EDIT: I'm using minexmr.com on port 7777.

I also have. =(  Maybe problem in pool proxy.

I just found out why this is:
- CPU Miner v4.0 does apparently not auto sense when to switch to the new PoW7.
You have to run it without the "-pow7 1" flag until it's time. Then restart it with the "-pow7 1" flag.

** The switch to PoW-7 will occur at block-height: 1,546,000 **
Block 1,546,000 is due to occur sometime during 6 april 2018.

You can check the current block-height at https://chainradar.com/xmr/blocks or other block explorers.

Confirmed this workaround, well works, mining away happily, now to reset because of stupid slow mode memory issue with the miner. like 32gb RAM and 128GB VM not enough for it.
Oh no, after restart its now not connecting to pool. Sad

Im getting these same errors aswell. Hardly getting any shares at all. Its constantly looking to connect to the pool. Woth or without the -pow7 flag. Any ideas?

The links to the pictures arent working. Also do you ship internationally (U.K)?

I have no problem shipping to the UK -- VAT and shipping cost looks killer though... About $40 for a 1lb (0.5kg) package. What were you looking for?

Maxi

I was looking at the two 4tb hard drives, but yoire right the shipping and vat would make it uneconomical. Thanks for getting back to me though and good luck with your sales  Smiley

886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asrock X370 Ryzen 1700x 7gpu rig problems on: March 20, 2018, 08:30:07 PM
Im using the wifi slot and the top (near cpu) m.2 for ssd but i would imagine it would run another card from there. Just make aure you use a good adaptor. Both of the lattcure ones ive used have worked no problems.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asrock X370 Ryzen 1700x 7gpu rig problems on: March 20, 2018, 06:31:03 PM
Yea the 7th gpu is running from a Lattcure M.2 adaptor (1x slot, not a usb type).
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DAG to big for 1060 3g on windows on: March 19, 2018, 04:55:33 PM
Didnt think the current DAG file was over 3GB. Last i checked it was 2.37GB.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining eth with 1070ti on: March 19, 2018, 04:05:37 PM
thanks every1 for the quick response, i really, for me, hard to understand how to cryptomining, i just used ethminer bc i was easy to use and, i saw i could get a decent profit from it
now i just move some numbers on the precisionx (i got a zotac amp extreme but firestorm is a shit) and now im on
Power:56%
Gpuclock:+50
Memclock:+870
hwinfo says im using 100w on the gpu
if anyone can tell me how to mine another currency, i would be glad, i tried zcash but had problems with the miner so i changed to eth
srsly, idk anything about crypto cores and anything about more specific things on mining, now im just using ethminer with a bat file

At those settings I doubt it will be very stable. Max settings for my Evga 1070ti’s are +750mem at 70%power runs without any problems for weeks.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asrock X370 Ryzen 1700x 7gpu rig problems on: March 19, 2018, 09:20:57 AM
Thanks for the suggestion. I havent trued it as a clean install of the drivers has worked. Not sure why it took a clean install of them as its running exactly the same driver as the 1050ti which was working fine.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Asrock X370 Ryzen 1700x 7gpu rig problems on: March 18, 2018, 09:14:05 PM
So Ive just transferred all my gpus, 1x MSI 1050ti (to run the screen) and 6x Evga 1070tis over to my new Ryzen 1700x rig. Only trouble is that only 3 gpus are being detected. 2x1070tis and the 1050ti.

I looked thoroughly through the UEFI and found nothing about PCIe gen speeds or 4g decoding. So couldnt change any of those settings.

System details:-

Ryzen 7 1700x
Asrock SLI Killer X370 mobo
Corsair vengeance 2x 8GB
1500w HP Common Slot PSU using Sidehacks breakout board
1x MSI Aero ITX 1050ti (directly plugged into 16x slot)
6x Evga 1070ti Black Edition (running from ver010c risers)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero switching algo, How to mine new Monero ? on: March 18, 2018, 03:07:43 PM
Surely the pools will change the code their end so us miners dont need to worry too much about it. Maybe just hae to tweak the settings or restart the rigs.
893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: if you live in the EU, watch your profit. I've already turned off my rigs. on: March 18, 2018, 03:05:53 PM
Im paying 0.16gbp per kwh and still managing to make profit. All this price correction is doing is weeding out the miners who were just in it to take advantage of a short boom in prices. The gpu prices will be coming down as the market gets flooded with secondhand ones and the companys selling new ones will have no choice but to cut there prices due to the market being saturated with cards. Yea it may be a crap time to mine right now but aslong as you are breaking even then mine on.
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HDMI dummy plug software? on: March 15, 2018, 12:36:01 PM
What mining software are you using? Ive got an intel rig and it uses the onboard graphics and my amd rig uses a small 1050ti (as the ryzen7 hasnt got inbuilt graphics) never needed dummy plugs for any of the cards though.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First rig set up (4 gpu's). Having problems, please help on: March 14, 2018, 09:50:30 PM
Have you tried one grpahics card in the first 16x slot and connected your cable (hdmi/vga/dp) to the graphics card? Or have you connected it to the onboard graphics output?

Thats barely more than the transaction fee. You need a $10 minimum to make it worthwhile really.
