Yea i saw these. I was hoping for a type C connector though so it can run straight through to the pi without having to switch out plugs etc.

No problem. Just don’t get greedy with it  Wink

On a different note. But still vaguely related to the gekkos (seeing as most run them on a Pi). Does anyone have a decent UPS for the Pi? I keep having momentary power outages which obviously turn the pi off but can't find a setting to get it to auto power on after a power outage, so thought a UPS might work. Trouble is becuase my pi 4 is in an Argon One case and I can't fit a HAT to it so the UPS would need to be external. I've contemplated a powerbank, but most ive read about don't seem to work as I would like. Some sort of USB Type-C passthrough with a battery connected would be ideal.

Anyone have any ideas?

The little potentiometer bottom right of the stick (when its plugged in) very small clockwise rotation will up the voltage.

Yep right at the back of my desk so would have been difficult to expel the exhaust. 90deg duct pointing up and no problems at all.

Same here. I added a duct and filter to mine and changed the fan for a slightly more powerful one to offset the filter restriction and its barely audible at all. I can touch the outer casing no problem. Great little desktop units!

Hooray! How weird that the usb fan was causing the issue.

The word you are looking for is "power circuits" or "circuitry".

I was thinking inductors but didn't think that was right, I could've put circuit instead lol.

Not in the GS Hub, but they do work individually in the hub that was using.

I would resinstall raspbian direct from the raspberry pi foundation and then follow the instructions on this post:-

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.msg50968875#msg50968875

That's the only advice I have left to give. If it still doesn't work after that then its out of my knowledge base.

Try plugging one in and getting it working then plug the other in at the other end of the hub. Try different ports on the hub. Not knowing how the power "things" <--(insert correct terminology here) are laid out then you may well be overloading it, hence they both drop out.

We need a FAQ section on the first page of this thread for the common issues that arise. Or simply a format of questions that get answered so we have a good idea of the system rather than “it doesnt work, whats wrong?”.

Maybe something along the lines of:-

1). What OS are you using? Windows,Linux variant?

2). What version of cgminer are you running? Vh’s or standard?

3). What usb hub is being used?

4). Is the hub mains powered? If so what is the power/amperage rating?

5). How have you connected the hub? Usb2 or 3 port?

6). What is the specific problem you are having?

Just an idea. May help speed up the diagnosis of problems.

I had two gpu mining rigs. One intel based, one AMD based. Both had 6x EVGA 1070Ti's. Ran from M.2 sata drives and both from server psus with breakout boards and picos psu's. Both had the same Noiseblocker NB-Loop 120mm fans running at 100% and whisper quiet. All cabled managed to a fan hub one side. The frames I made myself to similar specs as the Parallel Miner ones they used to sell. Used thumbs screws for the gpus and each riser screwed to a supporting bracket which ran the length of the frame. Each gpu had custom sleeved cables from the server breakout board. all cables were cable tied and managed as best I could. I even fixed an aluminium momentary power switch, power led and HDD led to the frame just for a quick reference to see if they were running. I'll see if I can find any old pictures. I was a while ago as the intel was running a Z270 and the AMD was running X370.

Found a pic of one done and the other half ready for populating, cable management improved once the second rif was done:-

DDU the drivers and reinstall fresh. Could well be a conflict between the old ones and new ones. Or its trying to assign the drivers for all the cards at once. Try adding one card at a time until you get them all on. Give it 10mins between each reboot and card.

So have one card
Reboot and leave on for 10min
Switch off
Add second card
Reboot and leave on for 10min
Switch off
Add third card etc etc etc.

Got a boost driver that'll put up about 30 watts, and I need to test the buck-boost because I like the idea of the light not getting dimmer as the battery goes down. Got a zoom housing that's pretty nice, and I have samples of a fixed reflector housing that should be good for handling heat but I haven't put a light into it yet. Been too hot here to do more than the bare minimum of work lately but I finally got AC in my workroom yesterday so progress should pick up.

All sounding like its going well. Its hot here but no where near as hot as it is for you I imagine. Looking forward to seeing a prototype  Smiley

I have 37 1080ti in 4 rigs, they went up from ~33 to ~44Mh.
smos with 150w and no oc

Anyone have an optimal oc for this?

I run mine at 65% Power, +150 Core, +750Mem and get 43Mh normal, 52Mh with the Pill. It reports its pulling 155-160w.

What are you running them on? Windoze? Linux based OS? What power supply are you using?

The pi instructions above were spot on for my pi4. Worked a treat straight away.

Okayyy guys, looks like one of the GPU's is failing me :

https://imgur.com/a/brqy7Fz

I tripple-checked and restarted the rig a couple of times, just to make sure it's on compute mode...
What does that tell you?

Mining with 1/3 of it's capabilities?

Br/kr
Murgor

One of mine used to do that. Turned out to be a failing riser card.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Weird problem with my mining RIG on: July 08, 2020, 04:32:43 PM
Unplug all your cards (including their power cables). Leave just cpu, one stick of ram and ssd plugged in(including sata power, 24 pin and EPS connectors). Then try and power it on. IF it powers on then resintall one gpu at a time and let it run for a bit then shutdown (properly) and install the next card. Keep going until you hopefully find the problem.

Woot!
Woo Hoo!  I was out on vacation when this happened,  and 'net access out in the hinterlands is spotty at best.  I noticed a nice uptick in my wallet one day which indicated Blockage had been found.  Nice! BTC Cool

Mine On!

Had me checking my account then thinking we got one recently lol.

Yep thats not worth doing. You need to be making something for all the time and effort in building the things.
