Damn it. Well looks like I’ll just have to stick with the five cards then. Wish i had taken note that the 6th slot on my board was an old school pci slot and not pcie  Sad
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / M.2 to PCIe Adaptor on: December 16, 2017, 11:11:56 AM
Hey guys,

Any using an m.2 to pcie adaptor on their rig? Ive got 5x 1070ti and want to make it six and the only slot i have available for expansion is an M.2 slot.

Just need feedback or suggestions on GOOD adaptors.

Thanks.

Currently got four SC acx3 versions running with no problems. Got a fifth card waiting to get running but waiting on cables.

Try the altcoins section buddy. You will get a better answer there as no one mines BTC with graphics cards anymore.

I woild look at yoir windows error log to see why it shut off. Also im not sure about the fan placement. It may or may not be connexted to the plastic case. But it is designed to blow through the heatsink so removing the case probably wouldnt help too much unless you had other fansnin close proximity to the gpu heatsink

Temps could cause it to shut down. The blower stules cards are not very good for minibg because of the temperature issue. Youneed to put them somewhwre cool or provide alot of airflow to keep them cool. Running the gpu fan at 100% would ruin the fan bearing pretty quickly. Also you could take the shroud off but not sure if having the fan unplugged would even let it work.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: overclocking gigabyte 1070 ti on: December 15, 2017, 06:19:23 AM
Every card is different. I have five evga 1070ti and all go to +150core and +800mem TDP 65%, one card will not get above +645mem TDP70%. This is the fun oart of gou rigs. Endless tweaking for efficiency and stability.

1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT TO BUY - MSI: GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GAMING 8GB or GeForce GTX 1070 Ti ARMOR ? on: December 14, 2017, 12:39:33 PM
I think better to choose gtx 1070 ti with Micron or Samsung memory because i heard that hynix memory its not godo in mining..
And mostly MSI  GTX 1070 ti that i always seen mostly in blogs and youtube but for my small rig i use Palit GTX 1070 as of now i didn't experience any issue so for now i think if you want some suggestion i recommend MSI gtx1070ti.. than the GTX 1070ti armor that only made for gaming purposes..

I see Your point. Thanks.

How can i know if RAM is Samsung or something else?

You have no idea who the memory manufacturer is until you get the card and check for yourself.

Get a multimeter on it and follow the tracks back from the molex/sata plug and check all the components one by one.

I'd be interested in just the Pi 3 if you ever decide to part it out. Also would the shipping be US domestic or international?

Thanks! Smiley

Shipping is from the UK. If I decide to split it I will work out a shipping cost.

Open to Offers in USD (as BTC is up and down like a yoyo lately) which will be converted at time of sale.

1057  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9s, UK Home Setup on: December 12, 2017, 12:02:45 PM
You can run them on 230v so no transformers needed. They are actually slightly more efficient on the higher voltage. As for the cables I would check to see what gauge of wite you have going to the garage. A simple google searxh woild reveal what mm2 of wire you need on the ring to run the S9’s. It would be best to get a new ring run from your existing fuse box to the garage in heavy gauge wire and then a seperate trip switch in the garage to isolate them from the rest of your circuitry.

Its alot of juice so make aure you allow for extra voktage spikes etc. Dont have a guage of wire thats exactly rated for what you need, allow some head room.

Where abouts in the UK are you? Just reying to figure out if I could save myself delivery charges and pick up anything I order from you  Wink

Whats your company name? VAT number? Website?

Neat but not something for making an ROI, that and it looks like quite the pain to ship without destroying it. I would focus on local enthusiast.

It would be a pain to ship but it can be disassembled and the components shipped “flat pack” style  Wink

Or i could just ship the gekkos, pi and voltage regulators (with their accessories) and save some weight by no including the frame.

But I’m just curious to how much people think it is worth. I would be donating 25% of the sale to sidehack for either his projects or for his friends meds bills.
