Are the boards at least the same (or very similar) size?
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Risers....are the dimensions the same?? on: January 16, 2018, 10:20:03 PM
Thanks guys. Ill wait to start drilling holes until i receive the risers then.
947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Risers....are the dimensions the same?? on: January 16, 2018, 09:20:00 PM
Just looking into getting new risers for another rig and was curious if anyone knows if different variations of risers have the same dimensions?

Are the mounting holes the same distance apart etc?

Thanks.

I have used one and bought a second faulty server psu of the same model. Used the outer case from the failty one and cut a hole in it for a fan. Kept the temperature down nicely.
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Riser] Quality riser / Amazon ! on: January 14, 2018, 10:53:36 AM
So bright that I'm tempted to cover them with painter's tape. They are the brightest lights on a PC component that I've ever seen, reminds me of the flashlight app on my mobile phone. Seems like a waste of energy and are quite distracting. So much that rigs with these risers will be placed in the basement or attic only. I'd upload a pic, but I don't see an option to upload pics here on BCT. Anyone care to explain that? When I click insert image, all I get is the img tags for inserting a URL.

You should just need to paste the link inbetween those IMG/URL tages  Wink

951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Kkmoon 2600w Dual Server PSU ATX on: January 13, 2018, 10:30:20 AM
As youve said its not too bad. It maybe a very good alternative to a dual psu setup and remove the need for the pico aswell.

Update us when its on a rig (and what rig its powering)  Smiley

Its there to stop the pins shorting out on metal frames.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any 8-pin powered risers you would recommend? on: January 10, 2018, 09:39:12 PM
Have you tried plugging the 8pin into a 6pin. As far as i know the pinout is the same apart from the two extra GND leads. So you can have the two GND connections not connected and the other 6pins plugged in. See the diagram in this forum thread, the connector shape is the same:-

Just a general query as the payput threshold faq doesnt make much sense as it says something different on another page. Im currently mining using your miner and have a balance approaching 0.01btc. Im using an external wallet and wondering if that uts correct payout threshold or do i have to reach 0.1btc?

Thanks.
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Kkmoon 2600w Dual Server PSU ATX on: January 07, 2018, 03:34:53 PM
At first glance this PSU may look awesome but my primary worry about this kind of PSU is the build quality and power efficiency. Is it really 80+ platinum? I've seen some china made PSU with 80+ gold stickers which were obviously faked. My next worry would be my power outlet / extension cord. Isn't running at more than 2000 watts in a single socket considered dangerous?

The server psus inside are HP common slot ones so can be any efficiency they do. Thats unless you dont believe HP are providing the wuoted efficiency ratings either?  Cheesy

The build quality of the case/wiring harnes would be in question though and hence my initial post asking if anyone had/has one and what its like.

958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Adding leds to risers? on: January 06, 2018, 08:58:57 PM
Just been browsing theough wbay at risers and noticed there are VER009 risers out now with leds at the 1x usb end and at the 16x end.

I currently have ver006 (blue, 6pin, 4x calacitors) and on the 16x board there are a couple of unpopulated diodes (horizontal triangle) and wondered if a couple of smd leds would work if soldered into these empty spaces?
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are these sever PSUs high efficiency? Does anybody know what their rating is? on: January 05, 2018, 06:49:06 AM
Google any of the part numbers to find out.
960  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Gekkoscience Compac & 2pac USB Sticks on: January 04, 2018, 11:51:03 AM
Hi everyone,

I have four Gekkoscience USB sticks i would like to sell as a set.

1x US Green Compac (single chip)
1x EU Black Bitshopper.de Compac (single chip)
1x US Green 2pac (dual chip
1x EU Black Bitshopper.de 2pac (dual chip)

Everyone should know what these are and their capabilities. If not then please go and check out the appropriate threads in the hardware section of the forum.

They have been running at 200mhz for months without any problems on my little raspi3 hobby rig. They will be shipped from the UK by recorded post. Im happy to ship to US and EU destinations. Escrow is welcome and at the buyers expense.

Open to sensible offers.
