Yea that top left one is constantly flashing like a strobe. Not just for share submissions.

Just noticed this on my Apollo.

The "DISK /MEDIA/NVME USAGE" says "391.61 GB/915.89 GB" but the node dashboard says its using 415.65 GB.

Are the two meant to be the same or am I missing something. How can the blockchain be using more than the OS says it is??

Have you tried wiggling the usb cable where it plugs in to the unit? Only because (as youre probably aware) mine had intermittent issues and it was the mini-usb socket.

Hello @jstefanop and others,

Still have not found a solution to the following issue, and would appreciate help/insight.

My miner reports "There is a problem fetching system stats (Internal error)" at the top of the UI and is missing most system info.
- No CPU temp is displayed
- No CPU usage % is displayed
- SSD capacity and usage is not displayed
- Memory usage is not displayed.

I have tried rebooting repeatedly, and it has no effect.
(The unit is still hashing normally however)
Is there hardware damage here? Should I reflash the SD card?

Just looking for solutions, thanks!

Have you done the update to the firmware? Should be v0.3.1 on the Web UI.

@jstefanop / anybody:

1- Can you please tell me the difference between the two temperature readings on the dashboard? (hashboard and number at top left) and;
2- Hardware errors on the dash bounce between 0.4-0.9.  Why is that?  Lastly;
3 - I'm currently connected via Ethernet with the entire blockchain on the node.  Would running it via WiFi degrade my hashing / pooling numbers?

Thanks in advance for your help as I seek to learn more about this great little miner.

--C

1. The Temp top left is the CPU temp. The temp in the hashboard section is the hashboard temp.

2. HW Errors will fluctuate but the longer the unit is on the more stable they become. 0.4-0.9 is perfectly acceptable.

3. Running via Wifi shouldn't effect performance at all, but it all depends on signal strength and other factors which interrupt that signal. Its always best to run an ethernet cable where possible.

Hi  a newbie to mining

I purchased a gekko newpac with a powered hub and cooling ..

Using cg miner 4.11.1

Tried on windows with zadiq

tried with linux
tried with mac
tried with raspberry

And even without the hub incase it was power related to the hub
tried different freq with --gekko-newpac-freq

And i get the same 0 chips found and i get no further

Am i doing something consistently wrong Huh

What cgminer did you use? The standard one or the one developed for this device (link in the first page of this thread).

Production has started.

Superb!

Any news on how production is going? Specifically on when Bitshopper will receives theirs? I'm eager to get my order in  Grin

Yes I use VNC on many Raspberry and other SoC boxes, there are VNC servers in Ubuntu repository, so Apollo with their Armbian Ubuntu should have them. Just open terminal and see what you got.
I use very simple and effective "x11vnc" server.
I haven't received my Apollo yet - doesn't it have a web interface in the local network? Or is it theoretically only controllable with HDMI screen and USB keyboard (if not using VNC)?

yes it has a web UI on the local network.

DoofyWops, I’m running mine on nicehash on the normal sha256 server. Not the asisboost one.

Also i get the updates window for the OS. Dont update it otherwise you will have to reflash the SD card.

Thanks a bunch!!!  Can I ask what rate you're getting? I'm getting 0.88 TH/s

Nicehash has a high diff for such a small miner so pool side will fluctuate big time. Aslong as the GUI on the unit shows what it should then its fine.

One of my units is having problems and I can't seem to get in contact with anyone. The node unit sounds like a fan might be failing and I have to regularly restart the mining or reboot the entire system to keep it going. It's also noisy as heck. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

looks like fan on sbc 2 screws needs to tight.

Fan on the SBC is a known issue, I replaced mine for a Sunon Maglev one and its been flawless.

If its the larger fan on the hashboard units then there hasn't been any reports of problems with those.

jstefanop, is there a planned update to include "bestshare" on the dashboard? Just to for us sad individuals who like to know how high it gets  Grin

OK so had a couple of hours to try and fix the f**k up I made before. Just plugged her in and shes working. I'm very surprised the magic smoke didnt come out.
134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help Making S19 Quieter on: September 07, 2021, 06:17:41 PM
Have you got inline fans in the ducting or are you only relying on the S19 itself to move the air?

I would buy some 3D printed ducts designed for the S19 which include the PSU aswell (yes they do exist). Then plumb it up front and back direct to those ducts in your box.

Is batch 2 still shipping?   Ive had an order pending according to FedEx tracking for over a week.

Any Batch 2 units left to ship will be out by end of this week. We shut down the line early last week to give our workers a longer break for labor day.

Thats looking after your employees. Nice to see.

Whereabouts are you located? I’ve managed to take a picture, ive taken iff two traces aswell  Embarrassed

Damn, Data+ and Data- Undecided
Data- will wire up directly to the FTDI chip and Data+ to wherever that goes (through via, then probably to FTDI chip as well, I bet, probably right next to Data-).

I'm in EU, you as well?

Yea thanks to the help of another couple of members I’ve identified the vias and pins etc. Just thought I would show you before I decided to send it, just so it wasn't a wasted cost of postage. I’m in the UK.

Got supplies arriving tomorrow so going to give it a go as soon as I have time.

Ive been reading up about trying to repair it. I may give it a try first and see how I get on before I commit to giving it up. Just got to find the time now.
Alright, good luck! Smiley My offer stands though, if you pay shipping both ways, I'd do my best to get it working again!

I was wrong. Turns out I hadn’t got it sorted. Tried replacing the usb port today. Well that has ended in complete failure. Ended up being too heavy handed and taking a 2 of the 5 pads off at the back.

Anyone want it for spares? Just cover postage   Undecided
Oh no, that sucks! You took of some of the pads that the USB port would attach to? If you want I could try to fix it for you, have some spare time to work on a few soldering things planned anyway. Are you in EU though?
I would fix it by taking a USB port (mini or micro, not sure what I have on hand) with a breakout PCB already attached, gluing it in a good place and soldering wires from the breakout PCB onto the miner's PCB's USB traces (exposing them by scraping off a bit of solder mask). It should work, did something similar once so far..  Smiley I guess, if you'd give it away for spares it would be worth a try!
