601  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crimea, Ukraine, Poland- the way to Western Europe Russo-Mania style! [free] on: September 08, 2014, 01:44:13 PM
The author is actually very astute as has proven to be right on many of her previous observations and write-ups. I referenced her works and articles several times before, by the way. You should listen through the video before making any conclusions, but it's your choice, of course. As I said, it brings the other side of the discussion forth, the one that is not usually portrayed by the Kishenjov/Chisinau ruling top, and which might not reach you in Romania.

And about those that fled that country, she also touches up on that topic as well...

Almost 500 000 romanian citizenship solved applications in the last two years from a 3.5 million country.
Those are only solved applications and do not count minors.

The numbers tell more than a pro-russian tears crying over a failed Eurasian community.

Btw....

In short reports of russians recruiting training and paying teenagers in Moldova. Why? ....

An interesting talk about Moldova and Pridnestrovje from someone having ties to the region and following the development there rather closely. The conflict there has been on a slow backburner for quite a long time, even after the Transnistrian referendum for unification with Russia  (2006), and is coming to a head now that Poroshenko's coup government has disturbed the fine balance in the region, blockading the republic.

Niothor, this might interest you as well, if you want to hear the other (not Romanian) side of the story. Gagauzians are also explained there. Wink

You really believe that joke of a video?
Common Nemo. Every time before reading or watching a video about politics I check the previous "works" of the author.

10 minutes in that video and I had to close it. Sorry to say it , but it's a piece of bul***.

And as I said it before. This whole Moldova thing which nobody bothered to discuss 25 years come up only when the Moldoveans started to wonder if it's not better in the EU than in the arms of the bear. Russia is losing it's influence in the region with the new gas pipe and it tries to stir problems.

From my point of view , they can have moth Moldova and Transnistria , only the idiots are left there. The ones with an active neuron have long fled those countries.

What is your opinion today about my topic ?

Mining factor is 0.6 cent per GH at 24 hours, and continues to decline.

I personally think that your math is as bad as your English Wink.

For 3 months you have continuously claimed the bitcoin mining is unprofitable yet :

When I think of Norway I don't see too many pros from a no cash policy...

The major pro is stopping the mints. Norway is largely non-cash as it were already. You cannot pay with cash in hospitals or medical centers. Many shops already have cashless counters. If you try to pay with cash for public transportation in Oslo, you pay higher price than if you were using a prepayed card (equivalent of €6.15 per hour instead of €3.70) and such cards can be mostly charged cashlessly. When I think about it, the last time I held cash was about 4 months ago...

Is your ID linked to all those prepaid cards?

For the most part, yes. You buy them using your bank card (national payment system), so there is a link. And most people nowadays pay for their tickets (either single fare or 7- or 30-day) through their phones, using VISA payment - another link. And then many directly link their travel cards to an on-line account "for ease of monitoring what your active tickets look like".

Actually, using the phone and a 30-day ticket is the most anonymous way after cash - you pay once and then you only have to show the phone's screen to the driver.

Can you buy a sim card wit no id in Norway?

There are talks about a new law here that would require everyone to present their id and be registered in the mobile operator database even for prepaid card. This would kill the anonymity of those kind of payments.

Chart looks very interesting.
The 495 pump was just a test

not a test but a dead cat bounce since the last one to $530, now top bubble could be $495, guess what's the next top bubble? may be $400?

You have to agree that this cat has been bouncing for 99+ lives for almost a month. More bouncing like this  and we can claim a patent for a perpetuum mobile.

Are jasemoney, kyle589, bitwarrior, wasobot, corather or badass going to the "special event" if it's so cheap and good?

quite probably, but depending on a side project if i will have time or not.

Is your side project shitting on any cash you have left and seeing if that makes it flammable?

Most of the big investors here on this forum , who make tons of btc each day can't afford a plane ticket from Mumbai to Bombay Wink.
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BBC News: Charlie Shrem admits unlicensed money transfers on: September 07, 2014, 12:22:28 PM
The operator of an exchange for the virtual currency Bitcoin has pleaded guilty to running an unlicensed money transmitting business.

Charlie Shrem from BitInstant.com admitted the charges in a New York federal court hearing.

Another Bitcoin trader, Robert Faiella, also pleaded guilty.

Both were arrested in January, accused of selling more than $1m (£603,000) in bitcoins to users of online drug marketplace the Silk Road.

The site was shut down last year and its alleged owner was arrested.

The two traders admitted the charges as part of a deal struck with US prosecutors in order to settle the allegations against them.

Bitcoin exchanges are services that allow users to trade bitcoins for traditional currencies.

Mr Shrem had been accused of allowing Mr Faiella to use BitInstant to purchase large quantities of bitcoins to sell on to Silk Road users who wanted to buy drugs anonymously.

The authorities said Mr Shrem was aware that the bitcoins were being used for such purchases, and therefore he was in violation of the Bank Secrecy Act.

The Act requires financial institutions in the US to alert authorities to any suspicious activity that may suggest money laundering is taking place.

Who were the victim?

No victim = no crime.

So , police should stop giving speeding tickets , right? Cause there are victims only when you run into somebody else.

Also , everybody should start their own shops without licenses or without paying taxes as probably there will no victims from this either.

Rather than arguing about how the law is applied change the law.

Isn't it funny for a site in Cambodia , designed for Cambodia to be written only in English with no Khmer version?
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8 Required Update on: September 07, 2014, 10:46:38 AM

The reason I knew this is that Bitcoin will go mainstream next year but its transactions are way too expensive and when volume picks up Bitcoin will not be able to handle the transactions size.

LTC and doge [together] solve the tx volume and high tx cost issues for Bitcoin.

I agree that if bitcoin gains more popularity, it'll likely pull the DOGE up. Simply, if someone put some effort to learn about bitcoin, than he/she is very likely to try the other cryptos as well, and DOGE is one of the most popular and easier to get.

Don't really see what's the strenght of LTC nowadays tho. Bitcoin is (was and will be) more popular as both, functional currency or investment. Dogecoin has low tx fees, creates more hype and reaches to a new people. Think LTC will be slowly losing its position.

Go back through this thread and read the hype in February when people where so happy that they passed the hashrate of LTC and how LTC is doomed. What happened next? I'm a doge supporter but what happened was BEGGING for merge mining with LTC to secure the coin.

613  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Record: 92,269,000 Not in Workforce - USA on: September 07, 2014, 10:38:45 AM
Quote
The 92,269,000 who did not participate in the labor force are those in the civilian noninstitutional population who did not have a job and did not actively seek one in the last four weeks. Because they did not seek a job, they did not count as “unemployed.”

So this number doesn't even include unemployed who are actively looking for a job?? But it seems to include all the students 16+... Bit confused what's the purpose of such stats...

It's to bring in the panic. There are a lot of kids 16+ who don't need to work till they finish college and a lot who will seek a job after they reach 18.

And the ending is plain stupid.

The 146,368,000 people employed in the United States in August was up 16,000 from the 146,352,000 who were employed in July.

@Lohoris @niothor So you think this is fake and they don't have these new features?

Of course not Wink.
Just look at the testimonials. What testimonials when the coin isn't even launched?

Better than paypal my ass.

We are sorry you feel this way niothor!

The testimonials were intended to catch the eye of users skimming the thread. They are from alpha testers (team members). Miha, Damir, Mike & Ashton all had much longer testimonials but we agreed to shorten them for easier reading. They all stand by their original testimonials and are available for contact if you would like to speak with them individually.

The better than PayPal comment was from Ashton, our lead developer. In the original testimonial he referenced 'Better than PayPal' in terms of the use of cryptocurrency, no fees and no restrictions based on country.

As per our PM we are happy to let you test our features early. We aren't 100% ready yet, so expect bugs.

First. If you have any clue about cryptos you will know that only newbies say all the time death to paypal.
Never ever and never a crypto will be better for a buyer than paypal. No chargeback!

I'm tired of all the guys who shout about the evil cc cards and then they cry in tears "why did i pay mi rigs with btc".

Also.
You said social tipping on every website. This is false. Are yu going to claim that you are going to be able to tip on facebook?

Instant payment via email. Sounds nice but in practice (they have been tried before by other coins) are useless.

Instant product downloads?  This is a crypto not megaupload.

Zero transaction fees. Are sure about this? How are you going to protect the chain when the reward goes to 0?

What happend to Dogecoin? Are there some big whales have started to eat some cheap nodes?

All the slow Bitcoin millionaires finally realized that what I've been saying is true:  Doge and LTC will be added to BitPay et al and be pushed mainstream next year.  Doge should hit a $1 billion valuation next year and LTC should hit $100.

Cheers!

Any links for these claims or it's the usual hype to the moon non-sense?

Imagine a person shackled into a pole. Someone gives him/her a key to unshackle, and the person sells the key as a scrap metal to get one fiat euro. This is how the people behave when they sell their country coins for BTC the first instant. I agree it took sometime for me as well to get the idea behind national coins, but now it seems the logical evolution of BTC.

Do you still believe in this crap with country coins?
Let me give you the real idea behind country coins:

we have a reason to mine 50% of the coins and still be trusted
we have a reason to pump the coin (because it is a litecoin clone and has no other features that can be promoted)
we can sell of the coins on the exchange and claim that people are requesting it

Evolution to what? A clone is not evolution

Warning! These are most likely sockpuppets.

Not all of them. Most of them are Olympic coin bagholders who see this move as one lst chance to sell their coins at more than 1 dogetoshi.
