Slavyansk now almost reduced to rubble.

Shelling in Slaviansk

http://www.reuters.com/news/pictures/slideshow?articleId=USRTR3UFQN

I wouldn't call it reducing to rubbles (and yes, I looked through the Reuters photos). There are damages indeed but they are rather local since we see windows with unbroken pane glass and nearby houses intact. Surely not what Grozniy looked like after it had been finally taken by the federals (let alone Stalingrad in 1943 or Berlin in 1945)... Cool

For Russians this is a town reduced to rubble by the nazi forces:

This is a normal town when the red army is involved:

1262  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VSEM PIZDETS. Hunderts tanks in hands or Russian Ukrainians. on: June 20, 2014, 03:14:01 AM
OK. Confirmed. Some 15 rebel tanks took part in the battle outside Krasnyi Liman yesterday. Biggest battle staged by the Donetsk People's Army so far. Some 4,000 rebel fighters and 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers took part. Heavy fighting also taking place in the nearby areas of Yampol and Seversk.

Confirmed by who?
There are hundred of news and nothing is confirming anything , at this moment all are rumors.

Technically coins don't really need a dev team if they're up and running solidly. Bitcoin's dev never did anything after the genesis block, and then he disappeared off the face of the Earth.

Before talking out of you know what , how about you check just his posts history here on bitcointalk:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3

He did not disappear after bitcoin was launched (genesis block).

Have you guys been on fiatleak. Most trading occurs in China, not USA. I should of said China dominates bitcoin trading by 4 to 1

Using fiatleak for any serious analysis of bitcoin trading is like using farmville to research productivity of crops.

AHAHAHHA:... I CANT STOP LAUGHING Cheesy ROFL Cheesy .
U made my day with that post , its so good analogy that its brutal Cheesy

Fiatleak is based on ... Um is it based on something ? Or just pure bs ?

It takes data the exchanges publish.
So if i do a transaction in yen it will show like somebody in Japan is buying which is totally false.

Also , I don't really want to open again the subject on huobi okcoin and their already proven fake volume and fake trades that are actually never executed.
There are plenty of articles on this already.

I think that there are still a few people that have requested payout and haven't enrolled or some that are submitting it even today so he is busy checking them.
Probably also a lot of errors in the submissions (wrong links to profiles or messages).

Seeing how this is obviously taking him a lot of time (he said he will finish it yesterday but got a new avalanche of request today comparing the list) I think we should start a brainstorm session and find out a cheater proof way of dealing this without a lot of manual work on his side.

There were a few ideas but none was really secure enough.

As for the fake "hilarious" requests ....he could easily send a code to any of the people enrolled that should be used when filling the request payment form.
No match in the code / request denied.

He has around 100+ people in the campaign and everyday new people are joining. How is it possible that he'll send a secret code to everyone ? The problem Stunna is facing is that he is running the largest campaign and hence has to deal with big data.

Simple , one code for each user Smiley. He stores them in the datasheet and he checks only the requests that match the code.
And I wasn't talking about the same code for all the participants , that's obvious.

It's fairly easy to do and will filter a lot of spam.

I'm pretty sure that this is staged by the enemies of the government.
They are committing suicides or starving to drive the needs for coffins beyond the numbers the government planned for.

I read it somewhere in this forum only, more precisely in the discussion section. Hence I said AFAIK, not sure. But it seems you are confident that it is not banned at Messi's homeland. So r u from Argentina ?

I've searched both the forum and the news about bitcoin.. nothing:).

The argentine central bank is said to be hostile , but there is no actual ban.

Quote
“The Central Bank is currently analyzing various scenarios to verify that transactions involving [cryptocurrencies] do not constitute a risk to those aspects which monitoring is expressly stated in its Charter. The so-called “ virtual coins " are not issued by the Central Bank or any  other international monetary authorities therefore have no legal tender and have no support . Also, there are no governmental mechanisms to ensure its official value. Virtual currencies have shown great volatility so far and have experienced substantial price changes. These implications, the risks associated with transactions involving the purchase or use of virtual coins as payment, are borne by users.”

1271  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your view on shale gas exploration ? on: June 19, 2014, 08:05:58 PM
One thing I forgot to add about the shale gas exploration in the case that started the thread...

I don't know the situation in Texas ...
-wiki only mentions 2 larger than 6 Richter scale earthquakes last century and I don't know how far they are from the wells-
but in the case of the Pungesti exploration , it is in a 100 km range from the most active earthquake center in my country which triggered 5 7+ Richter scale earthquakes last century.

Wouldn't it be a team of experts that mapped out the areas that had valuable energy deposits, and determined the subset of them in which it was safe to drill?

The days of wildcatters going out and drilling where ever they wanted are long over.   That doesn't work with fracking anyway.

About those experts... I've seen so many different opinions about the explorations in that area that I won't take anyone side.
And there were a lot of people that were indeed specialists in earthquakes, not the casual guest to a talk show , people who worked in the INFP  for a long time and they still had different opinions.

Europe will buy bitcoins aggressively when a few big banks will fail and they will print money to reimburse depositor or perform an haircut on savings

Quite a few big banks failed in Cyprus last year. But no one rushed to gather their Bitcoins. Most of the people remain ignorant about Bitcoins, and they will trust the banks no matter what they do.  Angry

Bitcoin started raising in price after Cyprus

That doesn't mean Cypriots rushed to buy bitcoins.  After all it would have been near impossible with the banks closed.

Think Argentina will block their currency and ban bitcoin like China.

AFAIK Bitcoin is already (officially) banned in Argentina. Wikipedia does not mention that though...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_Bitcoins_by_country

I've already asked you for a source in the last post.
From where do you know that bitcoin is banned in Argentina.

If you don't have a source please stop spreading FUD.
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYC] New York Coin LAUNCH on: June 19, 2014, 05:07:08 PM

You will never be able to buy a cup of coffee with BTC. The transaction takes 40+ minutes to confirm. BTC will be used for money transfer, online payments, etc. NYC has a huge advantage over BTC because transaction confirmations take only 2 minutes. That is a huge advantage that BTC will never be able to overcome. BTC is 5+ years old and has tons more services, infrastructure, acceptance, support, etc. NYC is only 3 months old and has a built-in security and technical advantage. MUCH FASTER TRANSACTION CONFIRMATIONS.

1/ I do not think we can compare QRK to a country. We should compare QRK to other crypto currencies. They are very different. The biggest difference is that QRK will only ever decide as a community to expand their minting, and indeed unless people want to expand they will not use the new fork and the extra 30M would never exist.

How is the community going to decide this?
One vote for quark owned? One vote for member?
How are you going to count the votes?

With a mining poll having 90% of the hashing rate (sorry i'm using old numbers , i don't know if the situation changed) how is this going to be fair.

You know why bitcoin devs don't say a word about any real changes that would imply a hardfork?
Because they know that they can't take a fair decision and can't have a real vote. This is one major flaw in cryptos.

A few can decide the faith of others...like in the actual economy. Nothing changed.

ps
Although I'm saying this and I have an avatar of a polar bear , I'm still bullish in regards to cryptos future.
But not the ones that are currently alive.
1276  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sexual violence in UK gangs 'similar to war zones' according to BBC on: June 19, 2014, 04:39:38 PM
Well that's just what I stated, they're doing it for the whole country, much like how a poll uses the "87% of Americans believe" line and then you dig into their mathematics and they've only done about 1000 people to represent the whole country. You can't use this kind of maths as a way of measuring the thought process of other human beings or the crime rates of an entire country, it's all completely fake. In case you couldn't tell, this is actually one of my pet hates about politics in general and it really ticks me off Tongue mainly because I've had to go and re-learn mathematics while there are morons out there who are being paid to make it all up.

Sorry but you're contradicting yourself on this one.
The polls use the view of 1000 persons.

Those statistics use the point of all the persons in the united states.

It's not out of 1000 poeple 457 will vote for Clinton so we can assume 45.7% of Americans will vote for Clinton.
It's more like, out of 300 millions 14k are dead while we are certain that the rest 300 mils are still alive.

The only poll that could match those statistics will be one in which ALL the people would have to answer while connected to a lie detector.
And you have to agree that this poll would be fair and representative.

Largest Refinery not largest oil fields Smiley.
The fields are still safe... for now.

Check this map:

Compare it with the territory currently under the control of ISIS. You can see that all the three major pipelines (those to Baghdad, Basra and Turkey), goes through the ISIS controlled territory.

And now we are talking about pipelines?

Quote
OK... now we have confirmation that ISIS has indeed captured the largest Iraqi oil field. Prepare for oil prices @ $160 per barrel.

You said fields. Stick to the fields Smiley
1278  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sexual violence in UK gangs 'similar to war zones' according to BBC on: June 19, 2014, 04:27:16 PM
And there's the extra problem Niothor, like with political polls these will have been carefully sourced to the political ideology of the person putting out the statistics, when your have per 100,000 people, which areas are these in? Which states? One thing I've had to do is re-learn mathematics later in life and ever since I did that this kind of thing has become more and more obvious to me and it's pretty amazing how easily people fall for it.

The rates are not done for a state or calculated like a poll
In 2011 UK reported 653 crimes all over the country.
The United states reported 14,173.

total number of crimes / population  > crime rate in a country.

Switch your rigs to something else. Or change your mining gear Smiley

1280  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sexual violence in UK gangs 'similar to war zones' according to BBC on: June 19, 2014, 04:15:35 PM
You can't compare the U.S to the U.K for one thing the populations are too different so of course crime rates are going to be lower because there are less people to commit them, even if you gave everybody in the UK a gun the result would still be less than the U.S purely because of land mass and the population numbers.

That's why we have rates....per 100 000 people and not counting the entire crime numbers.
So the average crime rate in UK is 10 times less that the one in the US.
