1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if the cryptography of Bitcoin gets cracked? on: June 16, 2014, 03:28:50 AM
I always answer for these question saying "bitcoin uses the same crypto standards as "real" banks. We are all in for a serious amount of butthurt if that happens"

Glad to see some newbies posting this.
Most of people here are concerned only with bitcoin they don't care about anything else.

They wish for another crisis just to see their btc back to 1000/coin forgetting that some of their relatives might lose their job in such a scenario.

Same with the cryptography , btc value going to 0 will be the last thing people will think when this gets cracked. Forget the 7 billions going to 2 cents , think about the trillions banks keep "safe" and that will not be safe anymore.
1422  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lindsey Graham: The Next 9/11 Is Coming from Iraq & Syria, and it’s ‘Inevitable' on: June 16, 2014, 03:20:52 AM
9/11 is wearing off.  Half of Americans now know it was a set-up.

This time the war pigs need something much bigger to terrorize Joe Public.

A tactical nuke in some disposable small city in the Midwest would do the trick.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polls_about_9/11_conspiracy_theories

Pretty interesting figures , especially those two:

Quote
57 percent of respondents in Russia believe al-Qaeda were responsible. 15 percent said the U.S. government were responsible, 2 percent said Israel and 6 percent named another country. 19 percent said they did not know.

Quote
57 percent of respondents in the United Kingdom believe al-Qaeda were responsible. 5 percent said the U.S. government were responsible, 1 percent said Israel and 12 percent named another country. 26 percent said they did not know

The numbers are from 2008.

Wonder how things have changed in 6 years.
1423  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What happens in the government if Bitcoin takes over? on: June 16, 2014, 03:14:33 AM
The biggest problem for the government if BTC were to replace "official" currency would be how to run the huge budget deficit which has become the norm in most "developed" countries. If there wasn't any deficit, with a crystal-clear and balanced budget, there should be no difference for the governement between using fiat or BTC.
The deficit is not created printing more cash, but by borrowing from banks and selling treasury bonds.   I don't see why bitcoin would prevent that.  Even if bitcoin replaces the dollar, there will be banks that lend bitcoins, even 10 times more bitcoins than they do actually own.  People would still have to pay lots of taxes so that the government can pay the interest on those borrowed coins.

bitcoin could hamper that effort by making it difficult to create a deflationary environment that makes it cheaper to repay such debt.

Generally very small countries wish to replace their currency with a currency they do not control.

Show me one country who wishes that.

And one who has no economic problems. So no examples of countries pegging their currency to the usd or euro.

Indeed awful

Those damn Ukrainians are using weapons to fight the rebels.
And the nazi Ukraine army is using trucks to move it's soldiers.

I don't understand how God is letting those Ukrainians live if they keep on not using sticks and stones against the Russian supplied rebels.

If you claim iodine deficiency is making people stupid , this might make you think twice before accusing others:

Check regions, if You check a large country as Russian Federation.

That claim medics, not me. http://www.iccidd.org/

From the website you quote:

Also comparing in this case Romania with Russia

Besides , never once I have argued that Romania is the best example from UE.
After all we had a ex-kgb officer as president for 11 years.

1426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC/BLK) | PoS | Multipool | Coinkite | Mentioned on WSJ! on: June 15, 2014, 05:48:38 PM
I must admit that the multippol idea worked and maintained a price of around 30K satoshi for very long time. However, new coins are stealing the idea about multipool and it is harder and harder for any altcoin to survive in this ocean of alts.

There's another very big problem, and that is just the amount of BTC that has been removed from the Mintpal pump and dump market. Volume on everything is down significantly on Mintpal for everything. SilkCoin's volume for being the new hype recently was pathetic.

The entire "single feature pump scheme" that we've seen over the past month or two on all of these coins is collapsing now, and it's hurting BC as well as it has had its volume removed from it due to BTC just being lost in general. People left BC, went to these other coins, and are now stuck holding bags over there.

Interesting point.
You think that the recent bitcoin price going down has made a few traders to get their coins out of mintpal and seek refuge in the $ or keep them ready to sell on bitstamp or btc-e?

1428  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Lack of Major Wars May Be Hurting Economic Growth on: June 15, 2014, 05:24:35 PM
Read the article twice and the opinions above and I don't understand how they can claim that a major war will help economic growth.

There is one thing a major war might help. Development in technology and the last ww2 showed that.
But the price is far too high for that and no sane people should think about this "solution".
1429  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: June 15, 2014, 05:21:13 PM
But didn't you just said they have taken Slavyansk?

The Ukrainians have control over only 50% of the city center, although they have captured most of the suburbs and the neighboring villages. A few days ago, I thought that after the capture of Krasnyi Liman, Slavyansk will be the next city to fall. But the rebels have surprised me with their resistance, especially the Strelkovtsev. Some 500 rebel fighters are still there in the city center, surrounded by some 10,000 troops.

BTW.... it is advantage Ukrainian Army. They are in control of the nearby Karachun hill, an elevated location. Very significant.

No , no and again no. it wasn't a discussion from a few days ago.
You claimed at 9:16 that the rebels lost the city and at 9:25 same day you where accusing the Ukrainians on not having balls to take the city.

For people who only read this board and don't give that much attention to the news this is confusing as hell.

1430  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will a war start in Ukraine? on: June 15, 2014, 05:09:08 PM
Nope. Putin has refused to support the rebels, and they have lost major cities such as Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, as well as the port city of Mariupol recently. They won't able to hold one for too long. However, it seems very likely that a few thousand more will die there.

Why he stop supporting the rebels? Does your Daddy Putin got afraid?

Nope. He is not afraid. He is just concerned about the reaction from your mommy, Angela Merkel.

Putin has nothing to gain from supporting the rebels. He does not have enough money to pay for the pensions and salaries of the Donbass citizens. How Ironic? Donbass people want o merge with Russia. But Putin will not allow it.

He has already pissed his pants...

He has warned  visa mastercard to pay or get our of russia... nothing happened
He has "forced" Ukraine to pay the entire debt by june 1st  , it's june 15 , and they asked only for an advance payment and they are thinking of cutting the price to where it was previously..

It's all empty words , and westerners know that , that's why they don't take him seriously

And don't forget , while we have this open discussion on a free forum , in your beloved russia this might not be possible anymore:

For this unusual value peg and effort to shift multibillion-dollar oil economies to an altcoin-based system, OPECcoin has earned this week’s Strange Alt of the Week award.

I don't know how to look on this award.. an Oscar or the Razzies or something in between.

Why would you say that?
It makes absolutely no sense.

It is not Russia who will be the aggressor , they know they don't have anything to gain even if victorious (very slim chances). If indeed a war starts in Ukraine it will most likely engulf Bielorussia first and then spread into Russia , probably with a few fights in the Tiraspol area.

A false flag operation, in order to make Russia seem the aggressor.  A lot of attention has been on the US lately: dragnet surveillance, guatanamo, snowden, financial crisis etc..  The US wants to improve its image abroad, so after the Olympic games suddenly Russia was the bad guy with anti-gays, pussyriot etc.

They don't need to let russia strike first , they are already labeled as the bad guys.

And honesty , both sides have scored so many bad points in the past few years that it would make both of them look bad even if they were invading hell.

Seems like the iraq army still has some power:

Iraqi government forces, backed by Shia Muslim and Kurdish militias, are reportedly holding back an advance by Sunni militants north of Baghdad.

A number of towns have been retaken from the rebels, but they still control the key cities of Tikrit and Mosul.

What is your opinion? Things are getting more and more nervous there.  Undecided

The military leaders are planners and do a cost/benefit analysis.
War would be fought in some of the smaller countries,  in order to have high benefit but "low cost".
I'd say a war on Russian territory is not very likely, perhaps the war would be dragged further into Europe.

1436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: MH370 stolen by Freeminery on: June 15, 2014, 12:36:35 PM

If the rumored Bitcoin Freemasons do exist who’s to say they couldn’t pull this off with the MH370? A Singapore Airlines 68 flight was close enough at the time of its disappearance to hide in its radar shadow and the Malaysian pilots could land anywhere between Singapore and Barcelona. Now the secret Society has a jet in their disposal which could be used to transport important people, laundered cash, even weapons discretely all around the globe.

The moment they would have gone out of the radar shadow they would have been picked again.
Also those were airliners not fighters to be capable of such things.

I'm pretty sure your story was inspired from this but:
http://keithledgerwood.com/post/79838944823/did-malaysian-airlines-370-disappear-using-sia68-sq68

Let's get real , sometimes the truth is so boring that we need to let our imagination loose.
1437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IL-76 with EU contractors shoot down in Lugansk. on: June 15, 2014, 12:19:57 PM
The important thing is that no MANPADS / IGLA / STRELA was used to down this aircraft. Even the Ukrainians have admitted that the plane went down as a result of heavy machine gun fire. This is a direct consequence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using inexperienced pilots to navigate their aircraft.

Rebels shot down an Il-76 transport plane in Luhansk, killing all 40 paratroopers and nine crew members who were aboard. Surveillance camera footage from the city showed a mid-air explosion after an object – apparently a rocket – streaked into the sky, followed by a larger explosion and fire on the ground. A Kiev military analyst later reported that the empty tubes of two Igla handheld surface-to-air missiles had been found near Luhansk airport, the only significant piece of infrastructure Ukrainian forces have been able to retain in the rebel-held city.

Vladimir Inogorodsky, spokesman of the self-declared Luhansk People's Republic, confirmed rebels had shot the plane down with Igla missiles and said they were currently blockading the airport. Rebels declared they would not allow any more flights into the airport last week.

There are big differences between that Christianity and Islam. they are able for compensations but at a much smaller scale than it actually happens. and from the religious point of view Christianity is weaker than Islam, much weaker, proof being their status today.
Agreed. Christians need to stop turning the other cheek, start beheading people in the name of their God, and seek solace in living in dirt floored hovels in between their calls to prayer to honor their God. Better yet, they should all just be killed in the name of hollow snackbar.

Let's go back to the crusades age once again , but this time kill them all , right?
