1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 17, 2014, 01:14:06 PM
To all about the Multipool.

We just get today an message of the administrator of the multipool, Hayden,
from his message we can read he is not able to manage the multipool for longtime.

Please read the message below from Hayden ;

"....Hi All, Sorry about the delayed contact. The Army has just called me and I am now on an Aeroplane and will not be returning home for a few months. Sorry about this, it was unplanned. I will not be able to administer the multipool at all anymore. If you leave a message here I will try to get back to it when I get time but time in the army just doesnt exist...."

This means that i advice everybody to stop directly mining at the multipool and start mining at our UTC POOLS or even at NITRO2.

Remember in this how important it is to spread the hash among the pools !!!!

If we have more info we let you now a.s.a.p. !

This is probably the lamest excuse I have seen ever.
The guy is just laughing at people here.

1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC/BLK) | PoS | Multipool | Coinkite | WSJ | BlackHalo on: July 17, 2014, 01:05:52 PM
do you really think we need Mintpal price discussion at these levels Wink

It will move as soon as whoever sells low stops it, simple as that. Right now i do not expect anything to happen since the VRC guys start to pump their coin up for the dump Wink

Seems like they are dumping forgetting to pump it. Wink.

Anyhow , I couldn't care less about how the other coins (except two others i hold) are doing.
I'm happy with small price swings in BC right now.

1086  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supervolcano in Yellowstone is going to Explode? on: July 17, 2014, 12:53:57 PM
Only time shall tell.. Theres evidence showing that the earth is actually cooling, contrary to the global warming idea pushers. The CO2 levels are rising though way beyond the norm. The scientists showing this data are either not funded by big corp, or have left the funding of these wealthy to share their real data.. I believe the earth has its own cycles and basically creates its own conditions. These volcanoes and geysers are just its way of venting off excess heat perhaps, and it is all a natural process. I believe the co2 is caused by the excessive aerosol spraying that goes on in the sky everday by these weather manipulators. Theyre also finding out the sun is less active, and seems to be going into a sleep cycle.. Theyre predicting colder than normal temps in our near future. If u are interested in this stuff check out suspicious observers, he has a lot of good info

Sorry but volcanoes exists because of the movements between the tectonic plates.
Without those movements only 1% of the existing volcanoes would have been born.

27 satoshi...

It has really hit a value x100 times lower that when it started trading?

Again , not every coins is a success but I am a bit worried that coins that looked a bit promising are suffering the same fate?

This thread is going nowhere.

People will argue for centuries with the proofs that are right now on the table.
It's either something new comes up to either clean gs name forever or to soil it or this will go on till cryptos are forgotten.
1092  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hole in Earth. Yamal. on: July 17, 2014, 12:30:30 PM
http://siberiantimes.com/other/others/features/large-crater-appears-at-the-end-of-the-world/

A spokesman for the ministry's Yamal branch ruled out a meteorite but said it was too early to say what cause the gigantic hole in the earth.

'We can definitely say that it is not a meteorite. No details yet,' said a spokesman.

Anna Kurchatova from Sub-Arctic Scientific Research Centre thinks the crater was formed by a water, salt and gas mixture igniting an underground explosion, the result of global warming. She postulates that gas accumulated in ice mixed with sand beneath the surface, and that this was mixed with salt - some 10,000 years ago this area was a sea.
1093  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Microsoft tells users to stop using strong passwords everywhere on: July 17, 2014, 12:27:27 PM
Users should use and reuse weak passwords for websites which don't hold valuable information, say researchers from Microsoft, overturning decades of accumulated wisdom on internet security.

By not having to worry about remembering complex unique passwords for every individual website, users can focus their efforts on recalling secure passwords for high-value sites like banking or e-commerce.

I don't see the "everywhere" from your title.

Another article for hits made by theguardian

My online banker doesnt allow a password over 7 characters long. Thats not secure now is it.. I thought this was such a joke I brought it up to the customer service, and they really had nothing to say.. Seriously...?

My online banking account requires a second code sent to my personal phone (2FA).
Also all the banks here rely either on a sms code or a token for extra security.

And I live in Romania......
1094  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Polish troops for Kiev maniacs. on: July 17, 2014, 12:24:17 PM

He is a posting machine of Russian text and videos.
1095  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supervolcano in Yellowstone is going to Explode? on: July 17, 2014, 12:23:02 PM
Gee watch the movie Super Volcano from the Discovery net work, we are at 640,000 years now. From the last major eruption. Guess that make us 40,000 years over due for a major eruption.
To see how bad things will get watch the movie it is as close to what will happen as you are going to get. If you live with in 300 miles of Yellow stone when it goes say good bye.
USGS is painting a nice picture in hope it does not happen, but it will it is just a matter of when.

lots of people say it could wipe out the entire north america.. all that gas would block out sunlight, and all that ash that we'd be breathing in. it would definitely cause a rise in temperatures.

From the first article:

Quote
But the chances of it erupting soon are unlikely.

“The chance of that happening in our lifetimes is exceedingly insignificant,” said Peter Cervelli, associate director for science and technology at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Volcano Science Center in California.

Second article:

Quote
One theory is that eruptions happen every 700,000 years ago, but Smith said more data is needed to back that theory up.

“If we were to have another big eruption, it would affect a large area, on the order of several states,” Smith said. “But, as I said, that probability is very, very, very, very small. In my calculations, it’s .0001 percent.”

Panic mode disengaged.

you just "disengaged" the concern with one theory, which implies that there is more than one.

In this case there are only two theories :
1- it erupts every 700 000 or so years
2- the last one was really the last

In that context "one theory is" is just an expression.

1096  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crimea on: July 16, 2014, 09:12:28 PM

Well , then your claim that is very hard to get into Crimea and the numbers of cars that can be transported by ferry doesn't match the assumption that the resorts are full. Smiley))

Besides , we had a previous discussion on how the resorts are right now .. this couldn't have changed in one month.

No, but still, there are many factors playing in favour of taking your vacation on Crimea, patriotic being not the least of those. Besides, I know several Westerners here in "civilised" world who go on vacation to Crimea year after year, without being discouraged by the "conditions" of the resorts - they say it's better than in Turkey.

I don't know about westerners but I know Russians tend to prefer Turkey.
I was amazed how many Russians (especially females 0 I've seen two years ago while visiting turk resorts in summer.

Too bad I was with my girlfriend Smiley

Probably they will switch to Crimea but it will take a few years till the whole resorts are put back to at least let's say 3 stars ratings.

1097  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why There Will Be No Revolution on: July 16, 2014, 09:07:56 PM
Revolution only happen when people are hungry. American are still fat and happy.

And getting poorer every day.

But it will take years for them to really get poor
America will only be poor when half of the world won't be dreaming to get a visa to get into the us.

As criminal as the us govt is, I dont see them allowing people to be hungry.  They know they can keep people at a level just "fat and happy" enough, and it works.  People only have political opinions during election times, then they go back to their iphones and sports.  I agree, any "revolution" does not appear to be in the works, although more people are becoming aware of the criminal nature of the us govt

Oh yeah the criminal us government is not allowing their people to get hungry or even suffer for lack of the minimal necessities.
By contrast the good north korean government is letting their people experience right now what is supposed to be the US in twenty years. (in their commie minds).

1098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Island on: July 16, 2014, 09:04:32 PM
Rather than creating an island nation solely for the purpose of using bitcoins we could focus all that effort and money into making the whole world using bitcoins.

All of what effort? A few dozen people focusing on a project?

Should we shut down all small bitcoin projects and focus on making the whole world use bitcoins?

If bitcoin island is a "small" project i don't even want to think what the well that was constructed via doge4water was.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN ~BINARY~(BIC) Scrypt | 15 sec coin | 84 Million coins | Binarycoin on: July 16, 2014, 08:25:34 PM
We could see a resurgence of older coins due to all the short term POW -> POS coins that hit the market in the past few weeks and end up destroying trade volume. It was probably just a few groups of people who sucked millions of dollars out of the small altcoin exchanges like bittrex and poloniex.

Why not mine an old low difficulty coin and then make it better?

Why bother with it and it's obvious bagholders and not start a new coin from scratch?
