601  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: July 29, 2012, 05:35:16 AM

We have asked you, repeatedly, for your retained attorney's information, and received no reply from you. No further information will be released to you since there is an AML investigation going on as well.

Please provide that information on a ticket as requested.

Isn't disclosing that there is an ongoing AML investigation actually against the AML investigation rules?
602  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: In Vegas, Want Cash on: July 24, 2012, 05:58:04 PM
I'm in Vegas for the week and I know there are a bunch of bitcoiners.  If any of you want to buy some coin, send me a pm here on the forums and we'll figure out a time/place.

Why would any bitcoiners be in Vegas this week? I can't think of a single reason.

First, several of them live in Vegas.

Second, people take vacations.

Third, the big Pirate meetup is this weekend.

Don't force me to add at least six more names to your such-a-short-list.

~Bruno~

Either do it or don't, but all of these "don't make me" posts are just a waste to read.

Well it is the FIRST known public bitcoin contract. Just chill man...we're making history!  Grin

Uh.. no, it isn't and no, you're not.

Link?

I'm not trolling my irc logs to prove you wrong.  Its happened repeatedly in #bitcoin-otc.

What's with the stream of idiots getting suckered into "bets" and then claiming afterward it's "for the lulz"?  We all know it's bullshit, so stop doing it.  It's like playing hard catch and acting as if a palm smack didn't hurt.  Of course it hurt.  The kid who claims it doesn't, with teary eyes, is just going to get more crap.

We pick on the weak.  Stop being weak.

Your mama is so fat that when she sits around the house, she sits AROUND the house.
609  Economy / Speculation / Re: reeses, jcpham, and smoothie's futures contract (split from #bitcoin IRC log) on: July 19, 2012, 08:04:20 AM
I'm not clear - does smoothie have the option to buy at $11 at the end of October, or the obligation to do so?  i.e. can he elect to just pay the 25% and not take the coins without breaking terms of the contract?

Nope. I gotta buy 50 btc at $11 each.

And likewise, jcpham has to sell them. Either party breaks it, I'm going to see if Maged thinks that's grounds for a scammer tag.

No I think permabanned works better if that scenario ever happens.

Yeah, because bans from this forum seem to really stick. Roll Eyes
610  Economy / Speculation / Re: reeses, jcpham, and smoothie's futures contract (split from #bitcoin IRC log) on: July 19, 2012, 05:17:21 AM
STOP WITH THE IRC LOGS. YOU DWEEBS ARE SATURATING THE SPECULATOR SECTION.  Cheesy

I concur. Pasting real-time chat logs on hypertext-semi-permanent-type threads feels sneaky to me, tbh I do not like it. That's a personal opinion not based in anything factual. I think the context of these things is completely lost when you transgress media like this. Especially if we dweebs have some multi-month long troll joke going on that has nothing to do with current events.

Ponzi.

Witnessed.

- Tihan was fired, and no longer acting on behalf of Bitcoinica LP.

Who fired Tihan??

I'd assume the investment fund that he represented.

Correct.

so even though Tihan is out of the picture, the investment fund is not.  Who is the new contact?
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Class action Litigation vs. Bitcoinica Consultancy LTD & Intersango LTD on: July 18, 2012, 05:37:31 PM
I don't have the contact of anyone from Bitcoinica LP to ask them...

Easy questions:

Who is Bitcoinica LP?  Who are the officers?  Who owns it?  How can you possibly have been taking over/working for/whatever a company and not know who they are?
615  Economy / Speculation / Re: reeses, jcpham, and smoothie's futures contract (split from #bitcoin IRC log) on: July 18, 2012, 04:50:57 PM
I'd also like to point out that without some type collateral/principle/earnest now, it's pretty difficult to consider it any type of futures deal. My unique situation allows me to "put my money where my mouth is" and profit, regardless. Now that I've opened my mouth, I'll pay 50BTC just to make it go away, frankly. I'd like to keep up my good reputation because it actually means something to me and I'm not here to talk shit and fuck about.

I made the deal, provided counter terms, they were accepted, a renege was made on the 25%. I'm still willing to send 50btc to someone if they want to escrow, you can work out the cash with smoothie. 25% is what it takes for what is most likely one hell of a good deal, today. The rocket appears to be taking off so to speak, yet I'm only still looking for $137.50 in escrow, which would, in fact secure coins in October, at 11$ /per. The price was 1$ less when I said it yesterday.

Whatever. Troll or participate, it doesn't matter to me. Smiley

I'll throw it in an Armory wallet if it really makes you feel better.

Did someone ask for a Bitcoin event during Defcon?

http://www.hackerish.org/events/65803622/

Thu 26 7pm @ The Beat Coffee House. This is  250 fremont street right next to the Fremont Experience.

I think I'll be there.

He was last active on    June 30, 2012, 08:04:03 PM.  My guess is he won't be back as WiseOldOwl.

Also you wouldn't have a technician returning emails regarding sales.

You're right.. It's nobody answering emails.

What "I would do" and what "bfl would do" are two very different things.

I just now got a reply back from my June 29th email requesting a change of address.  Alicia from BFL confirmed that they would change the shipping address.

I got a response saying they are too busy to make a change to my order's shipping address.

Sad
Left hand, meet right. Right, this is left. Oh look, some feet too! Do we have a brain?

Internal communication seems to be about as good as bitcoinica et al. I only got my response to the office@ address after CCing sonny.

Only bitcoinica has the excuse of different countries and timezones.  BFL staff sit next to each other.
619  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: July 16, 2012, 04:14:07 PM
There are a total of about 50 * 6 * 24 = 7,200 BTC made per day.

If GPUMAX was leasing 24/7 and
If GPUMAX got every coin made and
If you have say 100,000 coins to launder then

100,000 / 7,200 = 14 days

But GPUMAX does not lease shares 24/7 (not even close) and
GPUMAX does not get all the coins every day (not even close).

For example, if we assume GPUMAX represents 10% of the network 10% of the time (for an average of 72 coints per day) then it would take 1,400 days.

My point is that as a laundry, GPUMAX is too slow.

Well, some are estimating he's got 300k.  I'd say the GPUMAX estimates are low, so let's go 25% of the network, 25% of the time.  So 450 clean coins a day.

300,000 / 450 = 666 days.

It must be a sign.

Next up, Intersango balances will be cleared if not gone allready.

I love these business strategies, divide and conquer at its finest hour.

what about intersango? is it not legit now?

Do you really want to wait around to find out?
