Also, Russia is geographically 77% Asian and only 23% European. I'm not quite sure how the entire Russia will "fit" as part of Europe...

Russia is the largest country in the world by area, covering over 17,125,191 square kilometres (6,612,073 sq mi). Russia: 17125191×23%=3938793 square kilometres. Germany covers an area of 357,022 square kilometres (137,847 sq mi).

Which country is more European? The one that has 3,938,793 square kilometres of Europe or the one that has 357,022 square kilometres?

I don't think a country that's geographically 77% Asian is more European than Germany.

Wow, just wow!

Every engineer's wet dream.

As much as I think Schiff is wrong about gold and makes dumb observations about BTC (it goes up 10K - he doesn't say anything, it goes down 1K - he says it's like the Titanic), I do have some respect for him. He is somewhat of an entertainer and doesn't mind joking around at his own expense and certainly his continued bashing of the fed, our governments' overreaction to Covid and pointing out unsustainable inflation have all be proven to be absolutely correct.
Is he a bit of an opportunist? Sure, but who isn't in that YouTube podcast clown world.

Saw in the Dutch headlines that the Dutch governments' advice to citizens struggling with higher energy prices:
Oh just have a shorter shower and turn down your heating.
 Roll Eyes

I know many here have mixed feelings about Michael Saylor, but I believe he is one of the few big players out there who understand Bitcoin. Maybe it's his engineering background. Most of those who are positive about Bitcoin just follow the trend without understanding what's going on under the hood. Saylor gets it, and that's why he's pouring everything he's got on Bitcoin. In his words: "Who are those who are selling Bitcoin to me? I just pity them!"

As for Peter Schiff, he's funny alright, and makes great memes, but I wouldn't say I have much respect for him. He's a relic of the past, an old fart sticking to his old ways and refusing to appreciate and embrace progress and change. He's on his way out.

I am done with all this shit.
I cannot stand the up and downs of this market.
I am going to sell all my corn in the next few hours, buy a nice car, and enjoying life outside.
After the EU ban, bitcoin is not going to go anywhere.
I will miss you.

Cool. What kind of car?

I'm gonna sell my lake so I can buy a fleet of Lambos.

Better yet, buy a Lamboat and keep the lake.

What happened to the big blockers BTW?

No one seems to talk about big blocks anymore... Have they all seen sense?

bcash LOL is #25 on CMC, trading at under 1/10 of its ATH <--- LOL indeed!  Cheesy

Pedocoin BSV is #63, trading at under 1/4 of its ATH... Such wow!  Kiss

Serves them well. They thought they were so smart and wanted to change the code... Suck your forks now, you fuggs! There's a reason Satoshi set an upper limit on block size.

BIG blocks are such a 2016-2019 era of talking points.

There are new and improved areas to discuss the very many ways that bitcoin is deficient.. such as energy consumption.. or deep understandings about how some assets "earn" as you go?  Have you ever heard of earning as you go...? it's kind of like, just sit back and get richie without doing nuthin - bitcoin seems to need help in the get richer quicker arena, no?  there are ways?

Furthermore, there's even higher levels to some of this with coins that might even be known as "unique" pieces and can be expressed and then chains of ownership can be made... did you know that bitcoin happens to be boring.,. yawn yawn yawn?  and has 2.1 quadrillion pieces  (that's not even counting further divisions into millis) - not exactly scarce or artistickful, no?  Expressibility happens to be where it is at, and being able to translate value through a kind of creativity..   You must be a boomer, AlcoHoDL, to consider that you want your value to be pegged to something that comes off as so lacking in expression..? You must be a fluidity denier, too?   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

LOL, yeah, Bitcoin is so blunt and boring, burns so much fuel that makes Greta's pigtails stick up like horns (babies dying and all, Roger Ver was right all along), is nowhere near non-fungibility (note to shitcoiners: that's a double negative), can't be used to sell your Will Smith Slap NFT, you need Ether for that (I thought Ether was proven to not exist by Michelson & Morley, no?) As for earn-as-you-go, I must be doing something wrong with dee corn, because since 2015 my wealth has increased tremendously by just HoDLing it -- who would have thunk? I guess earn-as-you-HoDL is a more fitting term. How dare I?

Not a boomer BTW (not that old, come on!). GenX.

Should I take back my earlier laughing comment?  I saw there seems to be some truth in the fakeness that Agapios was proclaiming...... more than I originally had considered.. because I was allowing such linked-video to stream in the background while I was cooking lunch...  I did not click on any other links or consider any other promotionals... so I just presumed that the video was an actual live stream and just let it continue to go in the background until all of a sudden it just stopped playing..  .

In any event, I will just leave my earlier comment, as is.

Just to clarify, the "Crypto Banter" (how dare you?) link you posted in this post is clean -- it was a live stream video and not a scam. The scam videos appeared on the sidebar, on the right of the screen. I was amazed at how many there were. Musk, Dorsey, Saylor, all the big players used to lure the noobs. Looks like someone hacked some popular account(s) and posted the scam videos there.

HoDL, DCA... Pfff! Just hack a channel and fish for noobs.

Saylor live. Nothing new so far, but hearing him speak about BTC is exciting, as always.

Is this a real video ? or fake ? i saw similar video with mr. Saylor on some other hacked youtube channel
not claiming mr Saylor hacked someone, but i though some people used his video and added the shit with "send x, get double x back"
i am really suprised to see such thing (send x, get 2x back) being promoted here, by person with more then 1000 post

hm

There are many such videos, supposedly live streaming interviews with Musk, Saylor and others, claiming there is a giveaway of the usual "send x, get back 2x" type of scam. I've just reported one of them to YouTube, but then realised there were others too, live streaming NOW. I hope they are taken down soon.

Come to think of it, perhaps such videos are serving a greater purpose. Because, if one can fall for such scams, he does not really deserve to own any Bitcoin. Semi-joking, of course, but it still amazes me how anyone would be willing to send any amount of BTC to some unknown website and seriously expecting to double it. Funny thing, Bitcoin already does that (to its value) by simply HoDLing it.  Cheesy

This.
Well, seems i fell for such a video (the first time ever). No big surprise, because the very most BTC related youtube links i clicked so far were from here. This one wasn't.

I clicked the link in Jay's post, and after watching the hour-long interview, I noticed on the sidebar that there was another video that was live streaming, titled "Elon Musk bought another $7.5 Billion in BTC!" Wow, I thought, that's serious! I clicked on it and there was Musk giving an interview alright, but it was an old one I'd already watched. In the frame there was a big link to a site that supposedly doubled the amount of BTC sent. I reported it straight away, but then I saw another one with Jack Dorsey, with a different link pointing to the same scam. It seems they spring up like mushrooms. Perhaps YouTube should employ some automatic system (character recognition and auto-parsing of links?) that detects and flags them.

I hope tonight's dream won't be a nightmare...
And I hope we leave $45k behind us for good while I'm in it.

Seems like we have been hanging out in sub $50ks for long enough.. like a year, no?  I know we had ups and downs, but spent a lot of time in these prices already.. so ready to at least go up a few stairs.. and perhaps even a whole staircase (even if a mini one).

So true... $50k+ would be a great price point to be at right now, on our way to ATH and beyond. That '4' in the leading digit is killing me, even in my dreams.
616  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 26, 2022, 08:13:10 PM
No, she did not kill me. I think she would have, if I hadn't woken up.

Thank god you didn’t go into limbo!

LOL, I knew this phrase sounded kinda odd...

Seriously, though, that woman was scary as hell. She had that innocent smile on her face while wrapping the wire around my neck.

I hope tonight's dream won't be a nightmare...
And I hope we leave $45k behind us for good while I'm in it.

Edit: Looks like the dream will be sweet tonight!

I think this could generate some tremors in the coming weeks/months... There is a possibility that the west (USA, EU) will accelerate their dreaded Bitcoin regulation/banning agenda, due to Russia's potential use of Bitcoin to evade sanctions. The Shock Doctrine, as applied to Bitcoin.

Of course, Honey Badger don't care, and they will learn the hard way that Bitcoin cannot be stopped, but I sense that this will cause some wild volatility and/or FUD in the coming weeks/months. I hope I'm wrong.

[Totally OT post follows]

Speaking of dreams, I had a really weird, horrific nightmare last night.

Whoa!!!!! Dude bone chilling… I felt like I was part of this dream and the way you described in such details damn it. It also reminds me of “Ghost Ship” opening scene? Anyone?

But wait did they kill your or not? I mean did she tight the string or not? have you reached the orgasmic part or missed the fun?

But dude your story can a new Netflix horror story Smiley

I remember long back one of my dream where me and my friends were captured by someone cartel or terrorists and they forced us to use Sander Paper to peel off our skin from legs and arms and I remember our legs were full of blood and I can even see bones.

No, she did not kill me. I think she would have, if I hadn't woken up. It was one of the rare cases where I could remember every little detail. I guess that was because I woke up from the dream itself, so it was all fresh in my mind, and I went through the story when awake, so I could not forget it. Yes, I do remember the opening scene of Ghost Ship (2002), and yes, it fits my dream perfectly, good catch. The cut on her neck was really clean and there was no blood, just the slow changing of color to deep purple. That color change was the scariest part. It makes me cringe just by thinking about it.

Damn, I feel bad now. I cannot unsee this.

Your dream was scary too. Sandpaper on live skin. Ouch!

[Totally OT post follows]

Speaking of dreams, I had a really weird, horrific nightmare last night.

I was at some sort of gathering. Light was dim, there were people there, some with drinks in their hands, mostly standing. They were quiet and not moving much, as if in a numb/dreamy state. They had a peaceful smile in their faces. In the corner of the room there was a wooden box containing pieces of very thin, metal wire, the kind of wire that is used in guitar strings. It also contained some long metal needles, maybe 30 cm long, like those used for knitting.

Here comes the horrific part. I took one piece of metal wire and calmly went to one of the guests, I think it was a woman. I wrapped the wire around her neck twice, forming a loop, and pulled really hard, so that the diameter of the loop became very small. She did not resist at all. The wire cut through her neck, deep down to the bone, but without cutting her head off completely. My hands were injured badly, and were bleeding, but I didn't care. She fell down and I could see her head and neck slowly becoming deep purple, like ink being sucked by a sponge. No one did anything. I felt really bad and puzzled about what I'd done, but also unable to escape it, like I was being controlled by some powerful entity. I then took one long needle and went to another guest, maybe a man, but can't be sure. I went up to him and stuck the needle deep in his head, right through his brain. He fell down, presumably dead. Again, no one did anything to stop me.

Moments later, I remember going up the stairs of some building, arriving at a large, empty, dimly lit area. At some point, I see two people, a man and a woman, holding a wire and a needle, preparing to do the same to me! I was unable to move or react in any way. I could see the woman slowly wrapping the wire around my neck, having the same peaceful smile. At some point the fear became so intense that I couldn't take it any more, and woke up in agony!

WTF is this? Probably one of the worst nightmares I've ever experienced. Reminded me of The Cabin in the Woods (2011) -- it's been a decade since I watched it, and I think I watched it again about a year ago, but did not think of it before going to bed yesterday.

Weird, scary stuff...  Shocked

Never thought about it but i wonder how many WO people are already on retirement mode?

I could easily retire if I wanted to (thanks to Bitcoin), but I like my job and I would actually pay to be able to do what I do. No reason to stop doing what I enjoy, and my salary is a nice bonus, that often gets transferred to Kraken to be converted to corn.

Maybe in a few years' time, or whenever I feel I need to. The goal should not be to retire, but to be able to. When one achieves that status, combined with certain types of creative work, there's no real need to retire, you simply enjoy what you do, be creative and productive, and financially independent too. Win-win.
