Also, Russia is geographically 77% Asian and only 23% European. I'm not quite sure how the entire Russia will "fit" as part of Europe...
Russia is the largest country in the world by area, covering over 17,125,191 square kilometres (6,612,073 sq mi). Russia: 17125191×23%=3938793 square kilometres. Germany covers an area of 357,022 square kilometres (137,847 sq mi). Which country is more European? The one that has 3,938,793 square kilometres of Europe or the one that has 357,022 square kilometres? I don't think a country that's geographically 77% Asian is more European than Germany.

Would be nice to border the US on both sides Japan should be part of Europe too. After all, Japan is so close to Russia, which has a larger area in Europe than Germany. Surely, the European influence should be really strong in Japan.

The Ukrainian army has retaken Tjernobyl, seven busses full of Russian soldiers from Tjernobyl have gone to hospitals in Belarus for radition checkup and treatment, apparently they dug foxholes in the red forest, one of the most contaminated places on earth.

How far out of the loop does Morgan Stanley have to be to publish such an out-of-date article? Might start?! The Bahamas released the Sand Dollar in 2020; Nigeria released their eNaira last October, Sweden has been experimenting an E-Krona for a couple of years now while China has already implemented and is currently in the pilot testing phase of their digital Yuan - recently rolling it out in 12 more cities. Central banks of Japan, Canada, Switzerland, the EU and England are jointly studying whether to release a digital currency. India, Russia, Brazil have committed to CBDCs... even that doofus, Senator Elizabeth Warren, in the USA is advocating for a CBDC now. In short, "crypto" already is a currency and its use is becoming more widespread. What might have been a better article is how all these separately designed CBDCs running on their own proprietary blockchains could start to become problematic wrt interoperability. I think the only answer is Bitcoin
