Central bank singing song for bitcoin - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx4Hjq6KwO0
then this song will be a sad song... anyway i dont want to discuss about songs here...
prices not moving... when bull run?? eos rising but eth btc not moving... any reason??

Is the FOMO coin - I mean... EOS rising?
*Checking*

Come on be real... a 20% up in two days isn't that impressive.
Personally I get a bit sad when I see my favourite coins pump... it means I'll be accumulating less when they rise! Stability is good.

If they make this coin-thingy they airdroped in place of the lost coins work good, like sharing part of their earnings with the holders, then I might even consider buying some while people panic sell!
It will be interesting to watch. Grin
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BITTUBE | NOW LIVE | NO PREMINE | NO ICO | FIRST AIRTIME MEDIA PLAYER on: March 28, 2019, 06:30:38 PM
Youtube policies have nothing to do with the government. It's the advertisers preferences that count

Of course they do. Google owns YouTube and they have constantly worked directly with governments.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/8302913/youtube-conspiracy-theories-9-11-fake-news/

That is censorship. Period. In the above example it's not even a minority opinion.

Not to mention Twitter, Google and Facebook banned cryptocurrency advertising at the exact same time when BTC was like 15K usd which really should be seen as market manipulation. Only to decide later to allow "some" people to advertise at their discretion. Funny how 3 allegedly disassociated companies do the same thing at the same time.

https://mediachecker.wordpress.com/2013/09/15/these-6-corporations-control-90-of-the-media-in-america-the-illusion-of-choice/

And just recently Disney bought Fox giving them literal monopoly over some content.

I just wanted to add that Google doesn't have a choice but to censorship and remove content aggressively based on the reports they receive.
Otherwise the companies which feel that they have been damaged by a video that was not removed (eg: A video that includes a song in the background without paying the creator!) will sue the platform owner (Google) for not taking action.
This is a lawyer mess.

On top of that Google and other social media companies have been targeted by governments for the ways they may handle personal data.

I don't know how does BITTUBE expects to handle all that hassle. I don't believe there's a grey zone in this area, you either go 100% by the standards of the regulators (and get beaten by the competition, aka YouTube) or go 100% pirate like torrents and other such services.

I'm sorry again but maybe I'm missing something? I read your whole post there and went through some comments but I still don't get something.
You wrote that,
  • Single chip Cuckoo ASICs being meaningfully different from computation ones
  • The likelihood of single chip ASICs outperforming multi-chip ones for the next 2-8 years

And my question is: "What is bad with single chips? Why is there a conversation about changing the roadmap because of that?"

It's probably something obvious which I lack the technical knowledge to see, so sorry for the trouble! Lips sealed Cheesy
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: March 28, 2019, 08:29:49 AM
Do you think that the bulls are finally back? The market has been performing quite well over the last few weeks, it recovered very quickly after drops and XRP price managed to stay above $0.30.

XRP chat doesn't look that good, but if the market goes up XRP goes as well...

https://coincodex.com/article/3315/ripple-price-analysis-xrp-rebounds-from-030-but-has-the-selling-stalled/

No one can say before it's too late and the average Joe FOMO it! Roll Eyes
The market can keep climbing for months with the fear of a sudden drop looming over it the whole time.
627  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HitBTC scam! on: March 28, 2019, 08:25:13 AM
Congrats for getting your account unlocked. But why was it frozen in the first place? Did you place a big amount of money without having provided the required documentations?

This is the only acceptable reason for me. If they have a clear and visible warning saying that for your account type you can deposit/withdraw up to xxxx$ and you send more, then they might have to freeze the funds and make sure you're a legitimate user.

Is there a daily primary and secondary hashrate chart that is plotted from the very beginning? I would like to see Grin mining's progress. Thank you.

This is not exactly the same, but here is the difficulty chart from the very beggining of the mainnet,

Yes, it's totally the same Ben, returning clients money versus aplying a haircut to ETH(100%), BTC(15%) and LTC(35%).

They haven't said they will return clients "money", they haven't said they will return ANYTHING yet specifically. So again your example fails.

That is a good point though, the ONLY thing Cryptopia didn't do that DragonEx did is say
Quote
"DragonEx will take the responsibility no matter what."

This early they can't guarantee that, Dragonex says it will take responsibility no matter what - which is a silly thing to do because liability may be elsewhere.

You have a good point that DragonEx can't guarantee anything at that point, unless they already know the exact extend of the damage.
However in such cases, the liability is surely not upon one's customers! Unless an exchange is sharing their earnings with their customers, they can't share just their damages.

Changes over 1.5 years, this is likely gradual changes, very very low speed.
The Grin coin has launched its main net around less than a half of year, so it is too soon to make such big changes, in my opinon.
Not sure about the reliability of the article.
Does it really reflect core ideas to improve network performance from grin coin team?

Well... it IS reliable since (1) it's on Coindesk and (2) it points in the official forums: https://www.grin-forum.org/t/obelisk-grn1-chip-details/4571
One of the guys who seems to be in GRIN's team posted the following,

Quote
Thanks for sharing that, David!

Needless to say, this throws quite a spanner in the works of Grin’s anti-single-chip-ASIC stance, as laid out in Scheduled PoW upgrades proposal 22, and as further discussed in Cuckatoo32 feasibility 16.

Your point about the very different heat density is well taken; that kind of invalidates my claim that single-chip cuckoo ASICs are not meaningfully different from SHA256 ones.

Perhaps I should admit defeat and accept the reality of single-chip ASICs. If what you say is true and none of the next few size upgrades forces a memory IO bottleneck, then we might be better off disabling future phaseouts from some point on.

This would invalidate our commitment to ASIC manufacturers 32, so any such change would ideally need to meet with their approval.

I welcome community discussion on the best way forward.

I don't understand the technical issue and that's what I asked in my previous post.

Here is a link to a good summary of why RVN is soaring.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Ravencoin/comments/b5zwd0/its_pretty_clear_why_ravencoin_is_soaring_in_case/

Hm... yes ok cool story. I'm pretty sure the real reason is FOMO and maybe a little manipulation by whales here and there. This char is definitely not normal.
It reminds me of the difficulty chart when Ravencoin had first launched... 10 times up, then 10 times down! Come on... what happened to the HODL Roll Eyes
633  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia exchange hacked on: March 27, 2019, 09:03:21 PM
Meanwhile Cryptopia have been enabled lots of trade pairs, but deposits and withdrawals still down. Appears that they're moving the assets to the new safe wallets, first until then we won't be able to withdraw.

This process is painstaking process and really slow. Judging from their previous performance before they even hack they usually have a wallet under a maintenance for 2weeks to 4 weeks for a mere wallet update.

I'm not sure if you mean that this process is "generally" slow or if it's slow in Cryptopia's case.
Unless they use a couple home PCs and a DSL internet connection, they shouldn't be taking so much time to create and sync new wallets.

If they're following a special procedure which takes a long time to complete, then they should let their customers know about it... after all they just robbed them from a respectable amount of their funds.
634  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia exchange hacked on: March 27, 2019, 12:04:38 PM
If they carry on renewing their wallets with this speed,
we might wait until december.
Also they did haircut the btc but i dont believe BTC were stolen.
Why dont they open tell what was stolen?
Why dont they open tell who will do the losses or will they repay them?
Do they even know what was stolen?
Every single day we have to check if anything happened...and it did not...

From my own personal research back when the hack was first announced I had noticed movement in their BTC wallets that seemed to be the result of the hacker.
Initially I though that maybe the movement was the result of Cryptopia moving their BTC to new wallets just to be safe, but if what they said about shutting everything down (no that this would help with anything other than stopping tradings if their private keys were compromised) and leaving the office access to police, then the BTC movement was done by the hacker.

My research could have mistakes though, so double check yourself if you want. That's my initial post,

Okay I think I found the Cryptopia's BTC wallet. My deposit there is kinda old and I can't recall 100% if it's the address I deposited was Cryptopia's or another exchange's, but I traced the movement and since the wallet's movements stopped on 14th January I'm 99% sure it's Cryptopia's.

This is their wallet: 3ALZ4ALw2T4jebXXUy8GMv2rLB7JpFL1JD

After many hops between 1-use addresses, I find a big amount of funds consecrated here: 12YBZCaPe45LFbvgYWP5AVm3pvZTtHTiNY
This was a new address created on 13th January.
It seems that after gathering BTC from different Cryptopia's wallets, summing 392.31 BTC, they sent a "test" transaction of 3 BTC on 14th January and 10 minutes later they sent all the amount to the same address.

From that point on, it seems like the funds were split to multiple addresses, probably many of which are exchanges.

Your thoughts? Anything I missed maybe?
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: March 27, 2019, 10:30:06 AM
I'm kinda confused after reading this article: https://www.coindesk.com/grin-cryptocurrency-to-vote-on-change-to-hard-fork-roadmap

So right now most of the blocks are mined with GPUs and fewer are mined with ASICS. The roadmap is to gradually shift from GPU>ASIC to ASIC>GPU block amount, with changes taking place about once every 1.5 years.
An ASIC design seems to be ready and they said the single-chip ASICs are better than multi-chip ones. OK... I don't see where the problem is and why should the roadmap shift in anyway.
Is there any difference between single-chip and multi-chip designs?

I was about to start answering your survey but I then I realised that since I haven't used your wallet, I can't answer most of the questions.
I don't have that many BEAM coins to justify a use of wallet. I prefer to keep my PC clean of unnecessary software.

Any plans to integrate your wallet with Ledger's hardware wallets?
637  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia exchange hacked on: March 26, 2019, 03:12:28 PM
Just now another Exchange had been hacked:
https://www.coindesk.com/singapore-based-crypto-exchange-dragonex-has-been-hacked
You know what they wrote:
Quote
For the loss caused to our users, DragonEx will take the responsibility no matter what.

This should be the role model of any exchange that been hack Cheesy They announce being hack after a couple of days and providing the details of the after 1 week Cheesy , While in our beloved cryptopia they hide behind the police for almost 2 months and up to know they didn't bother to issue a statement on what had been loss.

And guess what? no tweet today Cheesy no changes in the number of secure coins in coininfo page after 1 week,

You better keep smashing that F5 in their page! They might suddenly open depositing and trading with withdrawing disabled... or something stupid like that.
Cryptopia keeps amazing me day after day, decision after decision!
638  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia exchange hacked on: March 26, 2019, 08:31:30 AM
Risk Management.

You've done your due diligence:  unique email/pass, 2FA, VPN.

No such thing is "safe".

There are only 2 types of companies: those that have been hacked, and those that will be hacked.

And then there are those which are not worth bothering to hack! Roll Eyes
I think Cryptopia might pass from all those 3 types eventually!

I was a locksmith for many years before i got into infosec:

The average thief will spend 5 minutes trying to break into a home.   If they fail, they move to the next house.

HOWEVER.

If they want to get in - they are going to get in.

The same holds true with crypto.

That's exactly the point. There is a difference between a company using hot wallets and cold storage, just like there is a difference between someone using a regular vs. a high-security lock/door. You're acting as if they are the same.

Actually in essence they're pretty much the same thing, both a cold storage and a hot storage are a pair of public and private key. What we "usually think" of cold storages is that the company using them won't have the private key saved in a place that's accessible from the internet.

However what we think as common sense is not necessarily what Cryptopia or any other company might be doing, they might just have the private keys of the cold storage in the CEO's personal PC while he's downloading pirated software or clicks on any ads that pops in his screen for all we know.

Day by day cashing.. how you get.. Smiley 200 Smiley 400, 1000 ? Funny.. 5 dolars, or 10 ? per day Smiley This is ,...!@#!$@#%#@!!!$$$  Grin

Lets try 250 000 diff. Its close..

RVN=Monero.. these days.. Traders paradise...and ,all we going to that....

SubSonice Dude,
For the past year Raven has been the best Coin to mine with a GPU. And still is today! Use any coin calculator and let me know what it says.
But, if you are mining with a single GPU, then yes, it will take time to accumulate ANY coin.

Raven's network is now over 14.5 TH/s. That's awesome for the coin's value - Bigger community, higher coin prices, better for the future. Remember, Crpto is better when there are more of us.
So, don't blame Raven for your piddle, little single GPU mining.

Miners (including myself) who have been with RVN for months (or like me, since Feb 2018) are being rewarded with this price move. And even at this Diff, new mining continues to be rewarded.

And yes prices will fluctuate, but this has been one health and welcome move.
Long live RVN...

What says calculator... says 2.75 usd profit ...for 24 hours ? I remember the time that with my 320 Mh/h ( obviously not 1 GPU) makes 2400 RVN per 24h.So should I happy with 185 or 200 RVN per 24h.I'm not. Write your system Pigeon , just for compare. Write your electricity price. If you dont change RVN the whole year..how rvn's did you collect in dependence of your Mh's .. its too easy to blame someone.. ba bla.. but reality is for all.. sooo Just for your info I mine RVN since it started..

And I remember the days I could be making 0.5 ETH per day with my gaming PC but I was like "nah... for 1€ per 24 hours I won't bother with this cryptocurrency-thing. I wouldn't even leave my PC mining for 24h because I would like to play games too".
I would be rich now if I did but whatever! Grin
If I had the same PC now (a 1070), it would make like 0.0025 ETH per day... but that's normal. If it would still be making 0.5 ETH per day then ETH wouldn't have the price it has today because there'd be too many coins.

So if you're mining RVN since when it started (like I proudly did... those slow difficulty updates were fun times!) you should be glad it's not easy to mine nowadays. Unless you've been dumping daily whatever you were mining, in which case I feel sorry for you.

I see that Gods Unchained is following a Hearthstone-like approach to their gameplay.
What is your plans? Will you compete with Gods Unchained or are you planning to go in a different path, maybe something like Magic The Gathering, Steam's Artifact or something unique?
