To be fair, myrig also sell bitmain gear on their site, and bitmain don't have any official distributors either.

I think that myrig are just going to be resellers, buying and selling on equipment.

I have my antminers hosted at a datacenter.  Do I need this installed on a windows machine at the datacenter?  Or, can I install this on my windows at home and connect to the antminers?

You can run it on a linux machine or a windows machine. Either at the datacenter or you would need a VPN connection from your home machine to the datacenter.

Thats because you should *NEVER* have your machines at the datacenter accessible from the internet.

Even $9 a day means you break even in just over 4-6 months maybe longer if difficulty goes mad or bitcoin price goes south.

But yes bitcoin mining with a M3 in Africa with your electricity costs means you are on a road to nowhere really.

I know you think you did your research but it doesn't sound like it. And certainly doesn't reflect what returns are  possible for those who approach the field with more care and due diligence.

That being said, as a technical experience and way to get to understand mining and its ins and outs you cabymt go wrong with what you have done, and if you break even (which you should if you don't start spending money on archon) and even make a small profit it will not have cost you your life savings.  Smiley

Is the CKpool iOS app working for anybody now?  It won't load stats since early this morning.  It won't even show my worker stats.  I have verified the API key and username in the config tab.

It has been working flawlessly over the past 4 months.  I have tried both with WiFi and Cellular.  If I leave it on the config tab, after awhile it says "no internet access"  All other apps work as well as web browsing.
I have killed the app several times.  I have even restarted phone with no success.

Any Ideas?

My thoughts are you should have done more research into this beforehand.

Bitcoin mining is not something you can do at home. Its something you do in a datacenter where the miners can be kept cool and have lower electricity costs.

You also have to keep up with the difficulty increases by buying more miners as you go forwards. And you have to understand its all a risk and that drops in BTC price can wipe out your profit.

I still don't see what your problem is, $15 a day still takes only 80 days to break even on your investment. What other investment opportunity gives you that?

Did anyone see what the retail cost of the Ledger Blue Hardware Wallet was? I can't believe it costs over $1000 bucks.

https://www.amazon.com/Ledger-Hardware-Ethereum-Litecoin-Dogecoin/dp/B06WVLZSK2

Sounds about right.

Buy from supplier when available, 1/4 of that price or less: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products

S9 price is wrong, its $2330 + PSU which makes it $2435

Would it be possible to add the pool ViaBTC (http://pool.viabtc.com/) ? Any maybe add Bitcoin Cash?

Unfortunately the developers are no longer active on this project.

Just stumbled upon this. See some saying it's no longer actively developed. Will go ahead and give it a shot, looks interesting!

Most important thing for me here is, will this application hit me with an email notification when a miner is down or high temps occur? I wasn't able to immediately answer that question. I assume this functionality exists within the Android companion application though.

It doesn't have notifications built in, that was planned but seems those plans have evaporated.

Getting a couple S9's online, 14TH batch. Any way to adjust the fan speed and Clock anymore? cold basement and chips are 68-71. I'd like to turn fans down for noise and run chips around 88-92. I remember seeing a URL link to still access the fan and clock settings, latest shipped FW does not have those options anymore.

http://miner.ip.addr/cgi-bin/minerAdvanced.cgi

That's as good as it gets but not fan speed directly just a small amount of control over the max frequency
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: cryptoGlance [v2.1] :: Open-source, self-hosted, multi-rig monitoring tool! on: December 10, 2017, 08:10:36 AM
Seems to be some issues with the wallet monitoring lately. Is that to do with the currency conversion side of it or something else?

Interesting... Can you hit this URL? http://walletapi.cryptoglance.info/?from=ETH&to=CAD

Yes that works fine, and today the wallets are showing up ok.

I might have led you down the wrong route looking for the issue in the currency conversion. Basically, the wallets were not showing any totals.

Is there an api call to get the wallet totals I can test? Is that a self hosted service that you run as well or do you do calls from an external provider for the wallet info?

Thanks for replying

We host the conversion, so 1 BTC = x fiat.

The other coins are remote apis with blockchain services. Which coins do you have in your wallet, I can review the API endpoints. PM if you don't want public knowledge

Just bitcoin wallets, is there an api link I can check from my end?

Sorry, I don't have the capacity to commit a fix at the moment, but there is interest in us building cryptoglance again in a better cross-platform way.

HOWEVER, if you'd like to make a change, you can try:
1) Find the code for cryptoglance. If it was installed on windows, its under the install location and within "app" i believe.
2) Find the file: includes/classes/wallets/bitcoin.php
3) Remove the // on line 10, add a // on line 11
4) Remove the // on line 22, add a // on line 23
5) Save and reload the app.

This should be all it needs.

BTC conversion seems to be stuck at 7332.53000001

And I know you aren't actively developing the software anymore, but I sent you a small Christmas present for old times sake Smiley

Hi mate, come joins us at kano.is with your S9's!
Awesome pool, awesome admin, awesome community! Cheesy

And by mining there you will support decentralization!

I am thinking about switching pools. 117+ hours without a block. Uhhhh...

That's the downside of small pools.

The upside is when you do get a block (like kano just did), you get a bigger slice Smiley

As long as your monthly/qtr/yearly return is on track then no need to fret. However if you rely on the income from mining to live from, then you might want to use a bigger pool like Slush for smaller, but more regular payments.
2 blocks Cheesy

I’m very knew to Bitcoin and mining but I’ve been reading reviews and notice people ordering their S9 from China. Can anyone provide me with a link to a reputable Chinese dealer they’ve done business with at a decent price? I’m looking for a S9 w power supply and all included. Thanks in advance.

Just buy directly from Bitmain.

Lentyna thank you for responding. Bitmain appears to be sold out. Is there another reputable retailer for the Antminer S9?

The only other reputable seller is https://www.eastshore.xyz

They have December stock available but you will pay dearly for it (around 2x bitmain price)
