I could do that:

ATTENTION!

The following roles have to be filled in order to speed up the AE development (Atomic Crosschain / AE Gateway) of James!

JAVA Developer
- with knowledge about Bitcoin protocol (or a really fast learner)

But have limited time. So I could maybe help a bit, PM me if interested, I'll give you my profile/experience.

Thank you! Sent you a pm!

Tester / Power User (up to 3 people)
- we need at least one full time Tester / Power User (but part time would be also ok)
- with some technical knowledge preferably
- experience in writing testcases would be great

I think I donīt have to explain why this feature is needed and what it would do with the price of Nxt... Smiley

Any volunteers in the community?

Please let me know about your thoughts!

antanst already offered his help. Thank you very much, really appreciated! But we still need developers and more power users / testers!

NXT mentioned briefly - AGAIN, at about 6:00...

I wish there was a heavy-duty-pro-fulltime-spokesperson that would represent NXT the way that Hoskinson does, or Larimer, etc...

I would like to hear a 1hour LTB show, dedicated to NXT, with Adam B Levine (he's the best interviewer IMO), with his know-how and great questions...

I'm looking forward to hearing Anon, but I think everybody would like to see even more firepower in this regard.

We need REAL people behind Nxt. Faces, associated with Nxt. Like the Etherium guys have. Otherwise we are fucked and all the smart "to da moon" people will be disappointed, because there wonīt be real buying volume behind Nxt.

So has anyone researched the potential regulatory problems that we have for Asset Exchange and/or Cross Chain Transactions? That is, do we run into issues in the US for being a MSB, and do we need to do KYC and AML stuff.

I'd be willing to do the research and draft up a whitepaper if people would find that helpful or informative. My hope is that we can find a loophole that doesn't kill AE before it ever takes off, and the whitepaper would be the community's position on the issue(s).

Please see my post here:

"Asset Exchange is a great tool, but will not succeed without service providers. The most important question is…
How to get legal FIAT out of the IPO?

Let me explain the IPO process using Nxtīs Asset Exchange through our example:
We have a limited liability company (ltd) in Austria with financial reports for the last two years which is accessible online. The owners are known; we will try to provide a reasonable business plan and are ready to attend Q&A sessions so we can wave away all doubts. We are planning to pay dividends regularly to our investors depending of income.
We are not a startup, but for this project, we will need another office, new developers, and a lot of things related to the daily job which we canīt (yet) pay with Bitcoin or Nxt, so we will definitively need FIAT to make those purchases. We need legal FIAT that the company can spend.
I am pretty sure that after the story with Visacoin (and all the other scammers) most of us will only invest in companies/projects of well-known community members, where the transparency is given, so you know whom you are lending your money. And they will also need a gateway to get legal FIAT out of the IPO.
I decided to consult a tax advisor, a business consultant and a professional offshore consultant to get an overview about the possibilities. And I am more than thrilled about the news I got. Smiley

My offer:
There are several ways for a company to get FIAT out of crypto, paying only a reasonable amount of tax. But all the ways are going through a special company (with special license) that is made for this purpose. There are professionals who know how to set things up in a LEGAL way, without risks. Sure, we need to pay (a reasonable amount of) taxes, but for that, we can have a good nightīs sleep without the risk of getting busted for money laundering, tax evasion or something similar. We can have our own company, earn money by charging handling and transaction fees, AND help the community to grow and evolve. I am looking for a well-known community member to team up with to found this special company. I am a member of the community since the end of November and am ready to meet in person, wherever we can arrange it. This is a big opportunity, I think, but I canīt do it alone. I need someone to brainstorm with, to share the ideas, the work, the responsibility, the win and of course the risk of this investment.
Setting up a company (anonymously, so our name will not be linked to it) will cost 15 000 Euro (around 33 BTC or 350 000 Nxt) INCLUDING all costs for setting up the company in the Seychelles, all the consultants fees, and all other connected costs for the first year. From the second year on, the maintenance costs will be around 6000 Euro + an annual turnover tax of 1.5%. Setting up the same company not anonymously would cost 10 000 Euro.

We will be able to help to convert crypto to FIAT, and also to pay the dividends (in a legal way in FIAT) to the investors through our company if the startup doesnīt want to bother with this. Something similar to what Havelock Investment is doing, except, that we will not look for projects and attract investors, as this will be done using Nxtīs Asset Exchange. We step in once the funding was successful and the desired amount of investment was raised by the community.

Iīve already spent around 500 Euros on consulting with the above mentioned guys, so I am very serious about this, but will not start the project alone, just to make this clear.
I will be in Moscow this Friday till Monday and will be in New York in the end of March if someone would like to discuss this in person. "

Which solution to automated crypto trading is your preference?
Your solution needs trust for some third party gateway.
I prefer straigt solution.
But if there would be no progress in straigt atomic crosschain for several months and you will release slick and sexy "NXT blockchain <-> NXT AE <-> BTC blockchain" solution i may reconsider and propose another bounty for this (with yet not determined amount of NXT).
Thanks!

I am doing my best to reduce the trust required for the gateways. I think if we had 100 gateway servers, all doing peer review, along with thousands of nodecoin clients, then even though ultimately the gateway transaction is 2 of 3 multisig, it really has a lot of built in decentralization and minimal trust is required.

Maybe this qualifies for the extra 2 million NXT for extra features?

Anyway, I am going full speed ahead with the multigateway solution. It also happens to solve the NXTcash deployment problem. Basically with 100 gateways, it creates a mini-network of its own and since it only has to do a few things, we can harden it against wide open attacks. The 100 servers would act as guardians for the three servers that do the actual gateway money handling. Only the 100 guardian servers would even be allowed to communicate with the three gateways.

James

What about DDOS attacks?

Call for more java developers:

We need more developers to help work on the core! CFB is leaving in 1 month and we can't just have Jean-Luc do everything.

Is anyone here qualified to help?

First possible feature that could be done, (talked about it with CFB), is adding a category field to Arbitrary Messages. This will allow us a lot of extra functionality, like decentralized stores, reputation system and so on. It should not be too hard to add this extra field. Is anyone up to the job? Unfortunately I do not know java myself.

If others have suggestions for Nxt, please make Nxt improvement proposals. See here for more info: http://www.thenxtwiki.org/wiki/NIP:Nxt_Improvement_Proposals

It appears the NIP process is not yet complete, we need a contact person or a simple method of allowing anyone to add NIP's.

I will take a stab at doing some simple stuff, but no guarantees, Java is not my language

I would be also available for smaller works as I am not really good in Java, but did some coding before.

Hi Guys,

Just an update on the NXT market at MintPal. We really regret to say that we won't be able to add it. While our scripts were largely working, we simply didn't have the confidence or understanding required for it, in comparison to Bitcoin and other altcoins, especially when it comes to handling trading.

We will be refunding all voting payments in 48 hours automatically, though you can contact us if you require an alternative arrangement.

Full announcement here - https://support.mintpal.com/index.php?module=announce&sec=view&id=7

Very disappointing. Why did the other exchanges manage to add Nxt? For me it seems, that you want to better use your time by adding more btc clones as it is easy money for you...

And it is also workin on mobile, although not looking too good, yet.

Very nice job!! I would love to send some Nxt, but I am on mobile. I could send btc via blockchain, or fiat via paypal. There is a lon way to go for Nxt, but it looks promising!

mcjavar, this is still in testnet, so you can ask for testnxt here and try out the web client, do not use your real passphrase with the site.

I know. What I wanted to say is that we need a webclient which is also usa le from mobile phone.

Is there any way to get notifications when AM solves a block?

There actually is:

-Get a free account on blockchain.info
-Download their app (it is awesome anyways..and free)
-add Asicminers mining adress to your whatchlist.

whenever the mined coins are added you ll get a notification on your cell.
It is totally free... no SMS needed just internet connection.

I did that and whenever my cell says something I get up electrified
for news right now Wink

cheers all
pretty good first post  Smiley

where can we download the app? or what is the name of it?

CfB, is this the case? Was this part of your contract with BCNext?

I know that Cunicula proposed to use ur scheme but BCNext went another way and there was a reason for that.

What was the reason?
Transparency please...
otherwise it is a very good example why people get frustrated: they try to improve things, but then you say that things are done the way they are done, because BCNext decided to do it that way. But why?

U'll get the reason if u dive deeper. I won't reveal it, sorry.

Perfect... Thanks.
How do you expect the community to take over, when you hold back informations...?

It seems that I am the only one having issues with this.
So maybe it's the best to lean back and watch as none of my initiatives have gthered attention so far.

Since I'm not going to achieve psychic mindlock today with CfB and BCNext to get the information dump we all need, I'm gonna change the subject.  (Squirrel!!! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSUXXzN26zg )

There is a new coin on coinmarketcap.com just below NXT in market cap and that is Auroracoin.  If you don't know about Auroracoin, you should take a minute and read some about it.  It is a litecoin clone that is about to become an official government currency for Iceland.  Without going into gory details, the banking system in Iceland has had huge problems over the past few years and the government is desperate to engineer a reboot.  Thus Auroracoin.  It has a 50% pre-mine that is being held in trust and will be given out to the people of Iceland in 25 days.  They are encouraging activity to get tools in the hands of Icelanders to allow their easy use of this new currency.

http://www.auroracoin.org/

http://theconversation.com/free-cash-for-iceland-but-it-pays-to-keep-cool-about-auroracoin-23061

The 64,000 NXT question is - could NXT somehow get on this bandwagon and become part of the Auroracoin management system via AE?  If we can get EVERYBODY IN ICELAND (population 300,000) owning NXT as a part of helping to manage their new Auroracoins...

How could we help them? What is the next step? Should we contact the developers offering them our support?

James, how should we proceed?
I am already proceeding and have been for a while. These market developments are not a surprise to me.

I can add auroracoin to the automated gateway, so anybody with aurora coin just establishes their NXT acct <-> Aurora addresses. Then we essentially extend AE to include the aurora wallet. This is why I am working so hard on the automated gateway. It instantly leverages whatever we connect to it with AE powers. Also AE gets extended with whatever is added.

Once we support the dozens of worthy altcoins, AE will be directly tied to all those wallets. Just like coinbase is linked to a checking acct. Once inside AE, there are all the crypto exchange possibilities, but more importantly real world trading, like POPPP's farm.

That is why I am developing the NXTcoins development kit that allows people to "configure" their NXT asset with coin type of properties. It is one thing to issue a bunch of Unicorn asset, another to properly manage the inventory, especially if it is tied into events outside the NXT blockchain. The gateway links offchain activities directly into AE.

Once we figure out how to get 10 second block times and make sure the cellphone apps handle QR codes, people can transact for real world goods in iceland using their cellphones. Now Aurora coin is not actually the official currency of iceland, more of a people's movement, but once we have 10 second block times, NXT hubs we can seriously start recruiting entire small countries to issue their currency as an AE asset.

James

Ok, but should we approach them now?
Could we put together a letter that we can send them? I am not a native english speaker (nor writer Smiley ).
Approach whom? Is Aurora coin centralized?
It probably wouldnt hurt to start posting on threads of other coins to let them know about NXT's AE capabilities.

Could someone please help me rephrase the text of James? Then we can spread the news amond the other coins to let them know about the functionalities.
