621  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: April 21, 2023, 11:25:58 AM
Thank you  SFR10 for your valuable advice!
You're very welcome Smiley

Blixt on this seed gives a completely different score bc1q....(segwit).
I've never tried them, but it appears that it's turned off by default so you need to "enable it from the settings".

Blue also does not accept Taproot and gives the same score bc1q ..
Yes, there's still no Taproot support on the BlueWallet.

Maybe it's just too early for the widespread adoption of Taproot on phones.  But with Segwit, the implementation also took a long time.
You have a point, but it's not limited to mobile wallets only.
622  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why not save yourself the trouble? on: April 21, 2023, 10:00:07 AM
asked me which one was the best, I told him that he could try the Ledger Nano X.
A hardware wallet that introduces more problems on top of the existing ones is not the best option: Ledger Nano X Battery Circus [don't forget to read "all" of the comments as well]

storing your cryptocurrency with hardware wallet, your private keys are stored offline away from threat of hacking or scam.
~Snipped~
I would love to hear you opinion on this guy's
You have a point, but it still wouldn't stop your friend from storing the seed phrases in a reckless manner [e.g. online or rather in a digital format]!

there's no such thing as free btc.
You can get a "tiny fraction" of Bitcoin on faucets, but it's not worth the trouble.

Please I don't really know how to console my friend.
I'm not sure how much he lost, but considering that he couldn't afford to buy a hardware wallet, then it wasn't probably that significant, so tell your friend he should consider himself lucky for getting the wake-up call quite early in the process of accumulating cryptocurrencies and he should now take this moment to improve his knowledge about the basics of keeping his cryptocurrencies safe!
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Is android laptop device good for installations? on: April 20, 2023, 07:46:23 PM
I wanted to use it to installed most bitcoin softwares like bitcoin core or electrum,
But why [is it because of privacy or just for fun]? Electrum is more than enough for most users!

while trying to do the installations the system gets hot and shutdown unexpected. What do you think could be the problem? Because is a new system window 8.
I'm not sure what kind of limits are in place for the OS that you're currently using, as opposed to a native Windows 8, but if it allows you to monitor how your resources are being used in the task manager, then you can easily find the culprit.

With that kind of config, your best bet is to run a node in pruned mode [having said that, I prefer not to recommend it... It's not a full node and it has its own disadvantages (e.g. redownloading in a certain situation)!
624  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees at Withdrawal Amounts sa Crypto Casinos on: April 20, 2023, 03:34:17 PM

e.g. 0.001 BTC:
625  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: April 20, 2023, 07:47:26 AM
And what I found as a result of my experiments: I tested Muun, OneKey, Nunchuk, Blixt ... and a few more Android wallets.
It turned out that indeed bc1p accounts ... can be opened.  But none of the wallets gives you the opportunity to find out the seed or private key of your BTC mainnet account.  Thus, you do not have full control of the taproot account opened with a mobile phone.
I just did a quick import test with the seed phrases of Nunchuck and I was able to successfully recover and see my Taproot address on the OneKey app [there's also an export private key option (Click on your account type > 3 dots > View details > Export private key)]!
- It's worth noting that seed phrases are shown prior to the creation of your wallet.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A service to find the relation between two addresses on: April 20, 2023, 06:42:37 AM
I am looking for a service that can help me map out the relationship between two addresses. Essentially, a tool that can inform me if there is any connection or correlation between the two addresses that I provide. Does anyone know of any services that offer this functionality or something similar?
Crystal has a visualization feature that's similar to what you're trying to build: Here's an imperfect example [none of the addresses are mine (I took them from one of the recently mined blocks)]
- It has nice features (e.g. moving the pieces around), but if you try to go too deep (e.g. adding many input/output addresses), their server will return an error!
627  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitcoindata.science on: April 19, 2023, 07:17:03 PM
Thank you for your suggestion SFR10

It is already working! I forked it from the code from (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3485877.0)
~Snipped~
Wow, I'm speechless [I should be the one thanking you for implementing my suggestion in the span of a few hours (you're a lifesaver)] Shocked
- May I know how short the intervals are? I stopped tracking it after it passed the 15-minute mark (I do know there are certain limits, so I'm not hoping for it to become very short).

I did notice a minor issue while I was refreshing the page like a maniac [e.g. the result that had the currency parameter temporarily showed blank, but after a few refreshes, it came back (the default one wasn't affected)].
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Intel did it? on: April 19, 2023, 05:29:18 PM
That may be correct decision when Intel don't have much experience building SHA-256 ASIC. Their ASIC efficiency is up to 26 J/TH[1] while Bitmain and Canaan manage to build ASIC with 21-25 J/TH[2].
You have a point, but I'm still going to stick to "what I said last year"... I don't think their objective was to compete with the likes of Bitmain and Canaan, but instead, to help others fill the gaps in the market.
629  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitcoindata.science on: April 19, 2023, 03:07:08 PM
@bitmover
I was wondering if there's a possibility of adding a feature on the unit converter that'd allow users to easily copy a code, in order to show dynamic fiat values of certain Bitcoin amounts on threads of this forum?
- AFAICR, all of the other alternatives from the past were limited to USD only and I'm looking for a way to use other fiat currencies in local boards.

631  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Central African Republic drops Bitcoin as Legal Tender on: April 19, 2023, 11:33:34 AM
and planned projects like building a Bitcoin city
Are you sure they also had such a plan? AFAIK, only El Salvador is planning to build something like that [I did a quick search on Google, but had no luck in finding any connection to CAR].

What do you think about the CAR dropping Bitcoin as a legal tender?
I'm having mixed feelings about it... It was an awful decision to make it a legal tender when their internet penetration rate was [and still is] very low, but they could've tried improving the infrastructure to help with the transition [as an outsider, I'm not seeing "any" improvement]!
- I do know CAR is currently suffering from all sorts of angles, but when they overturn such decisions to go with the easy route of not dealing with the issue in question, it clearly shows the ones who are in control are just a bunch of fools!
632  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lazerpay, a crypto and web3 payment gateway closing down on: April 18, 2023, 07:51:44 PM
but when I checked the payment gateway FAQ not quite long, I saw that they are providing services for people in these following countries:
~Snipped~
I think it might actually be more than the seven countries they've listed in the latter part of their FAQ page [refer to the very first part of the same page]:
- Having said that, I'm not sure if it's outdated or not!

  • Quote from: https://lazerpay.finance/faqs   What is Lazerpay
    ~Snipped~
Basically, we help you receive payments for goods and services in cryptocurrency and payout to over a 160 countries in local currencies.

Marchants are to withdraw all their money in fiat or crypto before 30th April.

https://twitter.com/njokuScript/status/1646531643371585546?t=XMULGkOrX7GpvSpfa2r5Sg&s=19
Almost all of the comments seem to be positive, but I really think giving their users roughly two weeks is not going to be enough [I hope I'm wrong].
BTW, the 5th paragraph (intellectual property) hints at the possibility of it coming back in a different form.
633  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Bucksoftware101 is a fake Bitcoin generator software seller! on: April 18, 2023, 04:30:20 PM
if he really can do this he should have first done it on Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet.
Judging by the content of the above two threads, I wouldn't be surprised to see him/her making a comment here to claim he/she is actually the creator/inventor Cheesy

Here is the YouTube channel of the fake script - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tYPkqXW0GY
Thank you for the video... To newcomers who might think it works, it doesn't [see how he/she didn't show from where that address was taken (clearly it's not a fresh address)]!

Bucksoftware101 created 10 videos within the past day https://www.youtube.com/@MetaBitcoinWorld/videos

All scams!
Exactly... I checked another one of his/her fake videos and it clearly says "SPOOF SUCCESSFUL(OK)" on a couple of occasions [1:33 and 2:04] while there's also a mention of "SPOOFING PACKETS THROUGH IPV6 TUNNEL [1:38] and at the end, it's asking users to send mining fees to complete the so-called "generation process [2:38]"!
- It's worth noting that the address on this video doesn't have 0.5BTC as part of its received transactions: bc1q0w9q24y03nh6fpkp909227y5t7h60n5284lj2k

This type of scam is easy to detect, but with people who believe that there is a way to double your money by simply sending it to a scammer I am afraid that some people will fall victim to such fraud.
I agree... As long as greedy people exist, they're not going to have a hard time finding victims [unfortunately].

2. He is selling people scripts that are actually malicious. Once the user installs or runs the scripts, their devices get infected

I am leaning more to the latter.
In addition, there's risk his fake software and support (when he said "I can help you setup the system through team viewer") could take over victim's device and steal valuable data inside it.
Unfortunately, there's a high chance for both of these things to happen Angry
634  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning] Bucksoftware101 is a fake Bitcoin generator software seller! on: April 17, 2023, 07:31:31 PM
What happened:
While I was browsing the Goods board earlier, I noticed there's a user that claims his/her software can generate a ridiculous amount of Bitcoin and upon checking one of his/her other threads, it became worse!

635  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: transfer lightening to onchain - bluewallet on: April 17, 2023, 05:48:25 PM
I tried zigzag.io but it wouldnt except my onchain wallet address

What is the best way to do this I see no options in my bluewallet app
From what I'm seeing, ZigZag supports Legacy [starts with 1] and P2SH [starts with 3] addresses only, and fortunately, you can create P2SH addresses on BlueWallet:

  • Part 1 (enable advanced mode)
    • Click the 3 dots from the upper-right corner to open the settings > General > Turn on the advanced mode.
  • Part 2 (wallet creation)
    • Click add a wallet or the + button from the home screen > Click on Bitcoin > Choose SegWit (P2SH) > Create.
636  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar v3 on: April 17, 2023, 02:52:00 PM
Not sure how many of you were using OpenBazaar before it shut down a couple of years ago due to the lack of funding, but it looks like they are making a comeback[1][2].
This may sound weird, but I have mixed feelings about it... It's nice to see that they're trying to revive OB, but I really feel sorry for all of the developers who worked on "Mobezha [fork of OB (I prefer not to vouch)]" to keep its spirit alive.
637  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: April 17, 2023, 12:27:22 PM
dami pa daw mga sims na hinde registered so maybe they are not aware kung paano ito gawin
Nag bigay ng pahayag si NTC kanina [source] na pinag-aaralan pa ng regulators at stakeholders yung possibility ng extension [I have a strong feeling na magkakaroon ng extension, especially since "41.3%" palang ang nakapag register].

Smart and globe should run campaign for this, pero sa nakikita ko hinde naman sila gumawa ng paraan to encourage everyone to register.

Anu masasabi ninyo dito: Petitioners ask SC to declare SIM Card Registration Act unconstitutional
638  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: April 17, 2023, 10:15:08 AM
Mukhang may bug yung sayo... Nasubukan mo na bang i-reinstall yung GCash [preferrably after a restart]?

Yung isa under Grow, yung isa naman under Enjoy.
That's interesting, dahil nung unang lumabas ito, it was also under the Grow category [proof]! Having said that, sa totoo lang hindi ako masyado nasuprised sa move na ito, dahil mukhang magfofocus sila sa mga NFTs and that's the opposite of being serious [no offense sa mga mahilig dito pero personally, I hate it for various reasons]!
639  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: April 17, 2023, 08:29:45 AM
Obviously, he is now developing his own block explorer, where he added new features (like identifying P2SH addresses) recently.  Cheesy
Can't wait to try it Tongue

Many thanks for these updates, SFR10 and 1miau!
You're very welcome Smiley

I think there's a problem with my Firefox. I did clear the cache, but still the problem persisted. However, the site loads well when I open Firefox using Private mode or when i use Opera, Microsoft Edge and Chrome browsers.

Maybe there's some extension on my Firefox browser messing things up, though I am not sure which one.
I had a similar experience with Chrome, so I used the incognito mode to record that video and that's why I thought it might have something to do with the cache, but upon doing more research, some users were also claiming an extension might be the culprit... Having said that, disabling and removing all of my active extensions didn't improve the situation in question.

  • I noticed when I was getting the /undefined issue, the Timechain's version was different from the live version [currently is at v0.2.20] and from what I understood [credit goes to "this user"], the manner in which you clear the cache matters as well, so please also try doing the manual route on Firefox and see if it works:

    • Settings > Manage more settings > Privacy & security > Cookies and site data > Manage data > Search for its name > Click its name > Remove selected > Save changes > Remove.
640  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: April 15, 2023, 08:06:08 PM
