641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will BNB prevent the moon of TWT? on: October 28, 2023, 11:52:57 AM
I don't expect any sort of "moon" for TWT, at best it's probably an increase of 30, or 40% maybe on the higher side. There's still a possibility though so you can probably hodl it if you want, but there are probably better altcoins out there in general really. Most altcoins follow Bitcoin when it's pumping up anyway and there are probably ones that would go higher than what TWT can make. As for DCA'ing it, I don't recommend really. As with what I said earlier, there's probably better ones out there, most especially Bitcoin if you want to DCA.
642  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 end game sentiment check on: October 28, 2023, 05:14:26 AM
~
Sideways. I don't think there's any news capable of pushing through towards anything big so far this year. We might even see it going back to below 25k or 20k even if sentiment drops down, but even if it doesn't (or it goes up), I highly doubt we'd go far with it. I wouldn't go past it breaking through 40k though, there's still like 2 months and we're up pretty well. I don't really mind whichever though, I'm holding till at least a year or two after the halving before having any mind to selling it. End goal is at least price of past halving or something close at minimum anyway.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spirituality and Betting - Do they Have any Connection? on: October 28, 2023, 01:12:57 AM
From the picture above, we can tell that the person who did this is a gambler, and he or she is also a Christian who probably believes God can actually help him or her win big in betting, so the different Bible apps which he or she put around the sportybet app in the middle mean two things for me.
Should've made it into the shape of the cross. Much more effective  Grin

1. He or she wants God to get involved in his or her betting and make him or her win  Grin.
2. Protection so that no evil will make him loss beta unnecessarily, since we Christians believe that the word of God protects, and we all know that the word of God is contained in the Bible.

Now, my question is, does God play a part in our gambling activities? Do you think how much faith or not, we have in God (or whatever we serve as a God) has anything to do with how much we win or lose in sports betting and gambling in general?
No. I mean if you really wanted to then you can technically let God participate in your activities by following whatever divine judgement he has that he sends on you every now and then, but in the eyes of a regular dude like me, that just looks like some dumbass looking for signs so that whatever he does can make sense when in reality, it doesn't. Don't get me wrong I don't have anything with having a religion and following God, but using him as an excuse so that you can what, make good bets? That's just pure idiocracy.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling industry is using big tobaccos playbook on: October 27, 2023, 10:38:37 AM
Isn't it more like gambling addiction causes them to swerve into drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes? It's something more like a medium of sorts that pushes people towards doing these two kinds of things. Even if you consider gambling addiction, it's simply a sickness where the person themselves try to gamble more and more money away, regardless of its source, and if they don't have any, they experience psychological problems that push them to other vices.

And really, by that logic, depression and the like can be a major cause as well and you haven't seen them combating the sources of that right? While I do know it may vary (such as family problems, stress due to financial issues, etc), gambling itself could be considered as a specific type of depression like those that I listed.

And besides, even if you consider it as an issue, it's going to be the same thing as how they tackled cigarettes and alcohol. They posted warnings but that's it, they still allow its circulation. Why? It's a damn profitable business after all.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that are good for long hodling in this season. on: October 26, 2023, 10:03:13 PM
~
They've always been good holds for the long term if you're going to check the market history of these two coins. Granted it might differ in the future, but they're most likely the more solid options compared to the rest of the coins out there. There are other good altcoins out there as well, albeit a bit less influential I guess if I were to pick a word for it. I'm mostly looking at MATIC, LTC, and maybe XRP as well for a bit of a short term or so. Anyway, I reckon any of the top 10 is a solid pick, just don't expect much profit immediately though.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Mattress Mack" loses nearly 10 million dollars on Astros Loss on: October 26, 2023, 09:44:45 PM

Jesus that's a lot. First time I've heard of him though but considering the amount he's spent on gambling, I'm surprised he wasn't covered as much. Maybe because he didn't win it big that much? I don't think I'd ever bet millions really since I have a pretty solid understanding of how much money works in the lower class (where I'm at right now) so it's kind of off-putting to suddenly spend so much if I actually ever had one, especially on gambling. I'd maybe spend it on other stuff like buying consoles, furniture, drawing materials, and stuff like that, but gambling? Nah.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 11:55:56 AM
~
Call the wedding and the relationship off lady! Probably better for you. There's a lot better fish than the sea take your time. Idrk if it was good this happened before marriage or not lol.

I mean honestly, any sane gambler out there would not use funds you've gathered up especially one that was gathered together with someone to gamble.  It's rather confusing really how some people consider gambling as a "guaranteed" way of earning money jesus. Yes, he did the act hoping for the best, but it's the best of both worlds, one of which does not give a fuck about you. Let's not even consider how the money had the wife contributing more than him.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? on: October 25, 2023, 10:30:40 PM
Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? Many here will feel that this is waste of time and will also not let them enjoy the game peacefully. Do you also have same mentality?
I don't. I did take note of big losses in the past when I was starting out. See gambling for me, just like for any other, started out as something of a way to get a quick buck. This was why I was so scared of betting high amounts and instead went for higher odds instead. Naturally that made me go into a big loss streak most of the time so I tended to bet big every once in a while, which I took note of.

Gradually I became numb to it and started realizing what kind of dumb mindset I had with gambling, so I just started enjoying it instead of minding the possible profits. Ofc my goal is still to win, but if I lose, then it is what it is. I see no need to get stuck up with it.
649  Other / Archival / Re: CEO of Stake.com (Eddie Craven) Found Decapitated In Home on: October 25, 2023, 09:55:17 PM
Welp that was rather morbid I must say. Reading the article though you can see that it's more attuned to "creative" writing rather than news writing with how it describes its events. Not to mention that it's bloody short as well, not much info was given considering the fact that someone was "decapitated" according to it. It's just dumbfounding how someone can even spend the time to actually edit out images, write (or ask chatgpt) and post it on Medium cause they were salty about losing money. People like this ain't really fit for gambling or anything related to a relationship. They probably even need anger management classes.

To note, the edit of the image wasn't really morbid (the news was), heck I actually found the way it was edited rather funny.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just like visiting a cinema on: October 25, 2023, 11:39:47 AM
~
Rather apt as a comparison really. I've always compared it to something like games or something similar which hasn't really been effective after some point, I guess comparing it to a cinema would be a lot better (and a lot more relatable) to the majority of people. The idea of money might not be in casinos, but hey, it's easy to look at once you see how the "money part" is replaced by the "movie" part of cinemas. It's not supposed to be a completely similar exchange, but rather just push the idea of what the "money" part of casinos signify, which is simply a tool for your entertainment, just like how movies are in cinemas.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market warms up, what altcoins can help me rich? on: October 24, 2023, 10:24:58 PM
sigh, don't use twitter for news or information, it's a ridiculous place to even consider when trying to determine whether to buy or not. Said users are most likely social media influencers and being one does not necessarily mean they are correct.  They might just be fishing you so as to inflate the market temporarily so they can sell for profit.

Anw for coins that could get you to rags to riches, I don't think one exists. And even if it did, it's immediately crashed down to oblivion by early investors so unless you're lucky or part of a team who intentionally does marketing like that, I reckon you'd be hard-pressed to find an investment like it. Just invest in some of the top altcoins imo instead of fishing for new projects, more likely for profit even if it was small.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy on growth on: October 24, 2023, 09:54:59 PM
Hi all. How to buy more when growing? Today we are growing, but I don’t want to buy. Share your experience in this matter.
Uhm I'm pretty sure not wanting to buy is the answer you already wanted. If you don't want to then don't, if you do then go! That's just the simplest way of solving what to do in instances of x or instances of y in any type of situation. The only reason you'd ask others is if you weren't decided yet but the way you said things are, you're pretty much set in stone ain't ya?

Buying during the growth phase though isn't something I'd really go for. Maybe a small bit here and there, but I'd rather buy when it's going down instead. A lot more opportunities for profit in the long term. You're more likely to lose when you keep buying when it's going up since a correction is most likely on it's way.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: October 24, 2023, 10:22:37 AM
~
I don't believe it is. Though I guess the general idea of society about gambling is rather negative, I believe society has changed radically enough to identify it as not. At least, without involving some cultural aspects and whatnot, but rather from a general point of view. I'd argue that the reason it was included was that gambling can be seen as illegal in some countries after all, so they just chose a general idea that would fit those who would be affected if it was portrayed positively/negatively and in this case, I guess portraying it negatively won out.

Or, the wiki guy just hates gambling.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? on: October 23, 2023, 11:04:52 PM
I guess you'd have to define what rich is first. $30k is definitely enough to be called moderately rich in my country (PH) but I wouldn't consider it being "rich" just yet. It might seem big but really, once you start trying to invest in land/buildings it'd disappear rather quickly. This is considering PH, if you were to consider countries like the US, then by no means is $30k enough to be called rich, or even moderately rich imo. If asked, I'd definitely go for at least 10BTC before even considering really.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised exchange getting better than Decentralised exchange? on: October 23, 2023, 10:59:45 PM
In terms of being hacked, I'm pretty sure both types of exchanges have an equal chance of experiencing it. The difference would be how the exchanges tackle said attack so as to avoid losing their users. CEX probably has a lot more choices and actions available since they have more users, leading to more initial profit which lets them have ample funds to tackle said problem. Well in the end said problem isn't really a problem if you stop using hot wallets from exchanges.

In the end, it boils down to your preference as others have said. I like to simplify it with CEX being comfortable and easy to use without having to understand much, while DEX allows you to secure your tokens personally but is harder to begin with due to having to learn and understand a bunch of other stuff(if you're new).
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 23, 2023, 10:35:34 PM
~
Because a lot of people were simply molded to eat up content like this, regardless of whether it was fake or not. Just look at the countless channels out there, some of which are obviously fake while some may still be fake, but they at least appear to be rather legit (not talking about casino streams specifically but other variety streams as well). But well, it is what it is at this point. While I do know they do that kind of thing just to avoid losing money, it does lose that sense of realness, if that's a word, in they're streams (which I don't watch anw).

~
AFAIK, there have been some news about Twitch banning some gambling contents but I can't remember if that's only for specific websites they promote.

But most of the casino streamers have their own sponsorships and that's why they do that on certain platforms to give exposure to their community where they are gambling.

While some casino streamers just doing it for their own pleasure and there's no brand deals that are on it and they're just the casual type of gamblers.
It was using casino affiliate links itself and stuff similar to that. Streaming about gambling in general is still allowed afaik.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice on: October 23, 2023, 11:54:24 AM
~
Are you THAT desperate for customers? If not you can simply reject their purchase or tell them to pay using another method other than their shitcoin. It may be called a currency but it's still up to YOU, the business owner, whether to accept said currencies as payment or not. Can't even find the damn coin in coinmarketcap, says a lot about the coin already just from that. \

If you're that desperate though then you might need a change in your business model itself since you, as an owner, should not need to adopt the payment methods of your customers. It should be the other way around really, especially for an unknown coin like this, you shouldn't even bother asking what to do or not really, just decline if they want to force the payment using their shitcoin.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: October 23, 2023, 11:29:45 AM
Is it the game you started playing as a gambler that you still play till now? Is there any gambler in this place who was used to playing a particular game before but never was successful winning or did not win enough and then made up their mind that it was time for a change in the game you gamble on. Which game did you change from, and what did you change to? how long did you play the game that you are deciding to stop playing because of the bad outcomes?
Dice, Poker, and BlackJack. While I had my wins, I pretty much sucked at poker and blackjack. Dice was, well, just pure unlucky. I tended to go insane with bots back then with Dice and they never really went above the normal win/loss ratio, with losses being a bit more than wins. I've also tried increasing the odds cause I wanted to hit it big a few times, boy did I lose money real quickly instead. I switched it up to Crash nowadays, fell in love with it when I saw how it worked and it's mechanics. While it wasn't all wins, it's a lot better since I enjoy it regardless of it's simplicity.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 23, 2023, 11:18:54 AM
~
It's a lot better than losing that $100 though imo. While you still stand to lose something, at the very least, in the case of the subscription-based game he knows damn well it's a game so even if addiction sets in, it'd only damage his time at most which can be handled a lot easier compared to what you spend on gambling, money. And considering all things, it's honestly a huge step imo, at the very least there's something that's happening and not just a stagnant consideration of the "I want to change" idea. Considering how he has no issues living I don't think money is an issue anyway, so I reckon he can take his time with tiring himself out. No matter the game, there's always a limit at a certain point anyway.

I hope its FFXIV especially since a new class is about to be released. Worthwhile game to be addicted in.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a formula for Bitcoin starters? on: October 22, 2023, 08:46:45 AM
~
In the first place, investments shouldn't really be treated as an "emergency" fund. You should have a separate source for that regardless of how early you are with investing or not, just to avoid issues when it comes to what money should you actually spend or not. If you're treating your investments as emergency funds that you can pull out immediately, then don't invest first, accumulate enough to accommodate for an emergency, then start investing, at least imo.

Investing is not a method to quickly go from rags to riches. You'd honestly expect more losses here, especially as a newbie instead of gains really.
