661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with crypto because taxation makes no sense? on: November 25, 2023, 12:55:44 AM
~
In most cases, especially with lower-end wins aren't taxes just ignored or rather, not actively asked to pay? Well at least I haven't heard of anyone doing so (and I don't pay it since I play in crypto casinos not to mention I haven't really hit it big before). I guess it helps that it isn't that strict here but is there a country that's that strict when it comes to gambling taxes? Wouldn't it necessarily become crypto taxes instead since we use crypto? It's like everything spent/earned from crypto is subjected to whatever crypto tax law, if your country has one, instead of differentiating it.

662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: November 24, 2023, 02:06:35 PM

It's not that there aren't any people who became successful at gambling, it's just that the chances are abysmally low if you consider the huge amount of gamblers out there that there's no point in trying to chase it especially if you consider how the only chance you got being increased is the amount of money you have. The richer you are, the higher the chances (or tries really) that you have to make it big with gambling and at that point, why even bother gambling since you're already rich?

And I guess for tips, it's really just bankroll management. You can't exactly sway the odds in gambling casinos, so it's just how you try to spend money while earning. In sports, it can be a lot easier though since it's based on games outside of luck. It mostly comes down to knowing and reading the game itself. I'd 100% recommend sports on people who budget money, and just pure luck type of games if you can and have the budget for it.
663  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can government track us. on: November 23, 2023, 11:03:23 PM
If you use centralized exchanges then yes, they definitely can. They usually have the right to ask for these exchanges for customer information when they're tracking someone and you can't really escape KYC from these exchanges if you really need to use them. You can probably circumvent that by using DEX's and P2P but you lose a lot of convenience plus at some point, you'd probably mess up and use something they can track. This all stems from the government wanting to track you though and if you don't give them a reason, I reckon you're fine.
664  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: November 23, 2023, 09:57:01 PM
In trading sometimes, there are situations and several times where traders while observing a trade placed and the profit they have made already  from it  begin to think and consider to exit from the trade and take the profit that they have made instead of waiting to the end.

Do you accept to be a weak trader or a wise trader when you exit a trade taking some profit, but not the entirety of what you want on your TP?
Most people usually have a goal set on their shorts which is usually calculated from what I can assume a lot of factors. They usually wait for it to go past that price before exiting instead of exiting when they made profit to maximize everything. That's what I'd call a wise trader. A weak trader is simply leaving while taking profits, no matter how much. Now that would be me and why I hate trading after realizing that.

A weak trader can be a wise trader if they start realizing how inefficient they are, not to mention they probably accumulate more losses instead and so try to look for other strategies possible, in my case I started DCA instead. Less profit, but hey, it does its job.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin memes don't have a project? Is it worth buying for the long term? on: November 23, 2023, 09:14:05 PM
~
Definitely not. Meme coins would probably be good for a short while, especially on release since a few days after that it usually pumps up due to "unnatural" reasons, but other than those times, due diligence would be required. They mostly crash down after that initial pump though tbf so not for the long term. Past that, it usually just moves if some whale decides to buy a whole bunch. As you said, meme coins don't have a use case, a roadmap, or anything similar to what big projects have. It's called a "meme" for a reason.

Never really tried buying one. I might if someone tipped me some group was trying to inflate it, free money. Past that, I don't think so. Never really been a fan of the meme designs we have as well anyway.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we got new CEO of Binance on: November 22, 2023, 11:13:21 PM
I don't really think it's anything big. Binance was pretty much pressured to drop him so that the SEC would get their eyes off of them but it doesn't mean CZ lost all his power. Pretty sure he still holds a fair share of Binance itself so in terms of swaying decision-making, pretty sure he's still there. Probably a lot less involved, but will still be part of the big picture.

But is it true that he will not only be a CEO for Binance in 3 years and after that, he can come back again as CEO?
Where did you find this statement? I think theres no deal like that cause if its the case then its just like Teng act as a dummy while CZ is in heavy situation. For me, the stepping down is a good move if their CEO is involved in this kind of scandal or lawsuit. Well CZ realize that it will bring more down to the platform and realized to do this. I mean nothings change since CZ would still support them.
I think it came from this? (Quick google). I don't think it includes anything to him coming back as CEO though.
Quote
Details: CZ agreed to pay $50 million in fines that will be credited to the CFTC, related to the resolution of that suit.

He is also prohibited from operating or managing the business for 3 years.
Binance will also plead guilty to a criminal charge related to knowingly violating the Bank Secrecy Act, and will pay more than $4.3 billion as part of the settlement agreement — including the largest penalty in U.S. Treasury history.

667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in psychic betting? on: November 22, 2023, 09:59:11 PM
~
There are actually a lot of ways to make it "seem" like you predicted other games after a big prediction really, just pay a couple of teams off. Some people believe fame is worth that money anyway. Some may really just be lucky in those kinds of instances and are brought up by media simply due to the attention the bet itself garnered. In all honesty, I reckon a lot of gamblers out there can pretend to be "psychics" really but are not noticed simply because their bets aren't worth a damn.

And, I also read the first article but why didn't he buy the ticket himself? Is the price that different from usual or is it a different section of lotteries for rich people only? It's also kind of stupid how the event got brought up because the waiter sued the boss for that win lmao. Kinda funny (and dumb) if you think of what happened.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 22, 2023, 11:25:10 AM
~
By steady do you mean enough to become a source of living? I highly doubt that. It's as you pointed out already, there's a low chance of a person being able to sustain himself through gambling and in most cases of this actually happening, their lives started off well in the first place with a large amount of money to play with early on. At that point really any choice you make could still let you live off since, well, you were originally rich after all. Even professional gamblers afaik don't rely on gambling itself as their main source of income. They're probably there mainly for the competition really.

And it's called a gamble in the first place. Pretty opposite of what steady means really.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: November 21, 2023, 11:14:32 PM
A few days ago, I posed a question in this forum, wondering if, as someone who engages in gambling, you've ever considered thought of giving back to the community if you ever had a successful gambling run. I carefully went through all the responses, maintaining keen interest and taking note of each perspective. Another aspect of the inquiry involves whether you would be willing to participate in crowdfunding for a fellow gambler who reaches out to the public through social media seeking financial support after they gambled with the funds meant for an important project like, investment, school fees, rent, marriage or any other thing. And what would you say to those who go ahead to donate to these gamblers out of a sense of empathy?
Nah. My man probably spent said money he was supposed to use for said project or whatever into gambling and is now appealing pity to the internet so that he can recoup it back. Personally, that's my opinion. As for what others think? I don't really give a damn. Spending money in gambling that is supposed to be for something else that is important is something I can't really empathize with. After all, said money was most likely not even from them, it probably came about with the help of a few others so really, it's not just him affected, it was others as well. And even if it was him only, then again, I still don't see any reason to help someone making dumb decisions over the internet.

670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 21, 2023, 09:45:14 PM
~
Yes there may be "some" degree of critical thinking in gambling but to be fair, it's not required, so probably most people don't. Like me! I just turn off my brain whenever I play simple games like dice, crash, slots, blackjack, heck even poker. In sports gambling, though I do indeed try to delve into the deeper side of things when it comes to matchups, but it's not to the point where companies would hire me really just based on that. Might've helped a bit when developing it but that's about it.

As for socialization, don't really count online conversations for my side really. It just feels different in real life, and I mostly suck at it so I know. Even in instances where I gambled in some local casinos I don't really do small talk with people.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 9 Years Before He finally claim his lotto rewards on: November 21, 2023, 11:00:15 AM
~
Were there no records of the bet beforehand in the lottery system in the first place? Though idrk how it works so they may not even have that kind of system, or even if they did, they never save stuff in the first place. Anyway, I reckon 200k usd is pretty big once converted into php. It might be a different thing depending on the costs he had though, considering it was a 9 year fight and lawyers are by no means cheap. I reckon they had no choice but to proceed though after a certain point so it just lasted till 9 years. I'd say still worth it though, as I said, it's still a lot of money if you consider the cost of living in the PH.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 20, 2023, 11:00:52 PM
~
I'd say both really. It depends on what the mindset of a player is at the time of the win/loss. Most of the time, it adapts to a mindset where they should just continue since they can still win/win more, so really, it's more like both. A winner would gamble more since he's, well, a winner. He can win more, so why not? A loser will try to play more to win since he already lost, they'd think it can only go up from there no? Eh that's not really how math goes though.

But both mindsets come from a desiring/greedy mind. You wouldn't really entertain the idea of betting more even if you've already lost your entire monthly salary in one session if you weren't greedy really.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good advice? on: November 20, 2023, 10:38:58 PM
~
Kinda confused with what OP said since the "quit too early" part and "not stopping or taking a break" part is contradicting. I'm just gonna assume it's the latter meaning, aka don't stop till you hit. Anyway, sounds like a dumb argument really, many people probably lost a lot of opportunities in their lives due to trying to hit some random opportunity they found and honestly, they have higher chances compared to gamblers who wish to hit it big in casinos. It's that same corrupted mindset that people think where money that isn't even theirs is already assumed to be, well, theirs!
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would someone want to buy an old empty ethereum address? on: November 20, 2023, 11:14:13 AM
I'd forego the benefit of the doubt, it's most likely going to be used for a scam. They're most likely going to use past transactions as a method to showcase how "trustworthy" they are or something along those lines. There might be some non-damaging ones like the others have said with airdrops and whatnot, but eh, I'd much rather err than give someone access to capabilities to scam others. Seeing as there's a lot of people who has recently seen stuff like this, there might just be an event/airdrop that's going to happen somewhere with a new unknown project though.
675  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: November 19, 2023, 10:56:33 PM
~
I mean just don't look at the market. I do agree it's a different experience in the early days though. I doubt a lot of people even expected the market to go above $100, let alone more than $50k really. It's more comfortable now to hodl than in the past that's for sure since the market has already shown what it's capable of and my point of entry is pretty low compared to ath so I was pretty easy going when entering since I can, at the very least (imo back then) achieve at the minimum the amount I invested.

The picture you showed was me when I was trading though. A single percent drop was enough to make my heart go "oh shit, gotta dip before it goes lower" and it going up I was like time to buy.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can help develop promising ideas without having huge resources? on: November 19, 2023, 10:03:12 PM
How do you think it is possible to raise a promising, but not having significant capital, project from the bottom and bring it to high heights in the world of cryptocurrencies? What strategies and actions can help to develop promising ideas without initially having huge resources?
A lot of work in terms of marketing and implementing SEO. Honestly, even a dog project could have great results if the marketing was done properly but said work requires a lot of time and resources plus you're also up against others in terms of trying to rank on top of each other in terms of searchability. If you're not in a rush then you can slowly develop the project together with it's community, start a youtube channel that showcases the development of said idea, whatever it is and slowly go from there. It takes time, yes, but as long as the project is even a little bit interesting, you should be able to get some followers at the very least. If it was bad, then don't expect much really.
677  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BC GAME online casino clone script with full source code on: November 19, 2023, 08:36:31 PM
I get it – when you're thinking about starting your online casino, having a design that resonates with leading casinos is crucial. The BC.Game clone script I've got might not match the design exactly, but think of it as a starting point, a canvas ready for your unique touch.

Picture this: Maybe there's someone out there who loves the vibe of BC.Game and dreams of starting their own casino with that similar cool design. Well, guess what? That's exactly what I've got – a chance for someone with a vision.
Hmm, yea I don't think that's going to work.

Yes, as a dev you can easily change the source code a bit albeit to make it not a "copy" anymore, but the hell does someone from the internet know about that? I myself as a dev don't even know the limits of what a "copy" can be described as really and at what point does it become your "original". Heck, even without considering that, just identifying that the script you use for that casino is a modification of theirs is enough to land you in a lawsuit.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: November 19, 2023, 12:04:20 PM
~
True. Heck, even making $100 is more than enough for me to decide to stop and get a break. I've never really seen casino as a method to get a thousand, let alone a million dollars. It's just unrealistic. Heck, you might even get stopped by staff and your win voided since it's too big of a jump from the usual wins which is around hundreds/thousands most of the time. Now I usually only win on the tens to fifties most of the time though, and in those cases as long as you're fine with the money you spend being lost, I think it's fine to continue. It's fun by then anyway. If you win big though, get the hell out. The idea of "fun" disappears once money sets in, and it usually sets in when you win big.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 11:05:21 AM
I'm not particularly sure but at the same time, there's not really much in terms of me being able to spend whatever winnings in a life-changing way, so I'm just gonna say NO. Whether it be no or yes, it's really pretty close anyway and you'd still be at a loss even if it was really even. In the first place I probably would've stopped gambling, or have at the very least minimized it if I actually won big in gambling in the past. A lot of stuff I want to improve on, most of which needs money.

In the first place though, I think most gamblers lose out when gambling. Just the existence of house edge puts most of us in the loss after all, what more with more cases of us actually lose instead of winning anything big.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer wins seem too good on: November 19, 2023, 02:54:04 AM

Not really. I am familiar that casinos employ some methods to make it more appealing to viewers, whether it be the money streamers use being from them so they can spend however much, or heck even rigged rates when they play by having a customized part of the site accessible to their accounts. The thing is, I don't really give a damn lmao. No amount of streamer is going to suddenly make me bet $10k in a single go all of a sudden no matter what. So yea, I know it exists and it happens, but I just don't let it get to me.
